Have Email From Database Post In Outlook Draft Box
Apr 23, 2013
I currently have a database that creates an email pop up when running queries. I would like it to instead, create the emails and have then post in my Outlook draft box. How can I make this change?
In my database, I need to have a button on a form which when pressed (1) pulls the email address from the displayed record on that form, (2) loads an Outlook instance, (3) in that Outlook instance, load a drafted email for editing and sending.
More detailed: My form, frmReferrals, contains the email address of a contact. I need to have a button, cmdEmail, which loads the email address of the displayed record in an Outlook instance. Ideally, I would like the loaded Outlook instance to pull some other information from the form. For example, I would like it to pull the name of the contact and display it.
Something like this: "Dear " & [FirstName] & " " & [LastName] & "," Leads to this: "Dear John Smith,"
There would be a lot more text in the email with other information to input automatically. I would prefer to use as little coding as possible... but I suspect that all of this will have to be done with coding.
I need to let all our suppliers know we have moved and wanted to do this by email. how I use Access database of suppliers email addresses and use them on Outlook.
I have a database that I can use to create a query, grouping companies by city. I then want to send a specific email I have created in outlook to all of the email addresses in the query.I do not need to include names.
I have a Access training database which tracks employees trainings as well as their annual recertification dates on particular trainings. Is there a way to have an email sent to the employees automatically when their recertification date is 1 month away?
Hi I have written a code that composes a new mail from MS Access. It does what i need. It also gives a question before displaying the mail body : "A program is trying to access e-mail addresses yo have stored in outlook. Do yo want to allow this ?"
If I give yes, it proceeds with composition. If I give No, it gives an error "Application-defined or object defined error". Is there any way I can avoid this error.
I have made a form to send emails, I used this code I found somewhere:
Code: Private Sub cmdEnviarOutlook_Click() Call EnviarEmail(Me.txtEmail, Me.txtAsuntoEmail, Me.txtLeyenda) End Sub
[code]...
I configured Outlook with my gmail account. The code works fine (after adding references) but when I take a look to the sent-box in Gmail, I find that the email is duplicated. If I send an email normally or even using docmd.sendobject, that doesn't happen.
One more question. I tried this function in two computers and in one of them Outlook asks for permission while it does not in the other one. I believe it is related with Outlook config.
I have code to open a new email and populate the BCC field. My problem is the company usually uses a template for all emails they send, from access how to I het outlook to use the the usually template?
Does anybody know how I can change the default mail client from Outlook to Lotus notes? I'd like to use the sendObject utility to create a macro which sends data I enter into my form.
I'm trying to make it so when a subform is updated, it will email the contents of that subform to me. I've got it all working, except for the content of the email part.
Code: Sub SendRepReassignment() Dim oOutlook As Outlook.Application Dim oEmailItem As MailItem Dim objOutlookAttach As Outlook.Attachment On Error Resume Next Err.Clear
I want to be able to click on a button on one of my forms and it create a new outlook email.I also want this email to have an attachment that is a report that I already have made.
I am making a new database. And I want to confirm that I can do all the following in Access 2007 and how is best to do it.
1) A form where I can define:a unique Email Number starting at 1. a directory eg "C:UsersPaulDesktop101 - Brick House" an email address. a Recipient Name a Category for the email. Choosing either "Working" or "Complete". This would be part of the email subject.
2) a button which onclick lists all the files in the defined directory to a box on the form.
3) a button which onclick exports a report containing the list of files to PDF. Then attaches a zip of these files and the PDF report to an email in Outlook for revision before sending.
4)In Outlook the subject would be:
"The Directory Name" - "The Category" - "The Email Number" "101 - Brick House - Working - Email 1"
5)In Outlook the body would simply be the subject of the email followed by the filenames of the 2 attached files, ie the PDF report and the zip.
with the linking tables thing to outlook can it be reversed. ie if i have a table that was linked to outlook outbox would the records form an email just like the emails from my inbox form a record.
i wanting to send emails automatically to many recipients. so i would have to use a record set and i thought that if i build the email in a record then have outlook pick it up then that would be the easiest way.
after spending wweks perfecting a database which centres on the ability to email the contents of what you have just entered i find that our stirling IT dept haven't actually setup any of my intended users with outlook profiles and do not intend to. Therefore whenever they try and send an email they get the dialog box you get when trying to connect to the internet for the first time. Which is obviously a problem.
Is there any way around this or is there any alterntive i can use? my IT dept dont promise to setup any outlook profiles soon and im hoping there may be something else i can do before the project gets binned.
I am trying to modify the following code to send an automated e-mail using Microsoft Outlook instead of Lotus Notes. We recently switched e-mail clients and now the older code does not work. I have tried to comment in all areas to indicate where the new Outlook code has been inserted.
Private Sub SendEmail(ByVal Subject As String, ByVal Body As String) 'The bulk of this code for Lotus Notes comes from this website: Dim copy(100) As Variant Dim strSQL As String Dim rsTemp As Recordset Dim Maildb As Object 'The mail database Dim UserName As String 'The current users notes name
I am a College Instructor and I would like to make a Database that will regularly email me a list of Students who are approaching the mid-point of their Program. Is it possible to program Access to email a list with Student Names, Registration Numbers, etc, etc. by a given date?
As of right now I have a Database with all of the students' pertinent information but I have to manually comb through the Database each week to see which students will require a Mid-Term interview that week.
I have been trying to get this to work but without success.
My original source was [URL] ....
The code looks good apart from the fact that the Inspector was not Dimensioned. Anyway, here is my code which fails as the error message is that objSel is not set.
Code: Dim MyOutlook As Outlook.Application Dim MyMail As Outlook.MailItem Set MyOutlook = New Outlook.Application Set MyMail = MyOutlook.CreateItemFromTemplate(DLookup("TemplateFolder", "Company Details") & "eMail Template bm4.oft")
I'd like a command button to open Outlook and create a new email message with the To and Subject fields already populated with what I want, is there anyway to do this?
What i would like to do is replace the DoCmd.OutputTo line with a DoCmd.SentTo line to email the reports to the appropriate faculty instead of just saving them in the folder.
I used this line but it did not work: DoCmd.SendObject (acSendReport, , acFormatPDF, "vtblfaculty.email&'@xxx.edu'","me@xxx.edu",,"test ","this is a test",-1,,)I have been working on this forever!
Public Sub something3() Dim db As Database Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Set db = CurrentDb Set rs = db.OpenRecordset("SELECT DISTINCT tblsection.Faculty, left(vtblfaculty.firstname,1)&vtblfaculty.lastname AS fn, vtblfaculty.email FROM vtblfaculty INNER JOIN tblsection ON tblsection.faculty=vtblfaculty.faculty WHERE term=" & Forms!frmimport!cbxTerm)
I would like to create a button that when pressed opens up an outlook email. The email address will be populated by one email address every time. I don't want it to automatically send as the body will need to be filled out by the user. It would be useful if the date and time it was sent could be recorded in the form somewhere too (would this be in a text box?).
I have a query where I collect data for different vendors and their purchase orders, products deadlines etc.
Is it possible via access to generate a report and via outlook send in the email body a message where is showing the purchase order date of delivery and priority? Or can that be done via a form?
I've researched all the email topics, but can't find what I am trying to do. Most of these topics are talking about emailing a record or form or something.
I have a form that contains thousands of contacts address, telephone, email, etc. I would like to create a button that on click would open Outlook and grab ONLY the email of the current contact I am looking at on the form at that time and add that email address to the [To:] box of a new email.
Thanks you guys, I'm learning...slowly, but it's coming.
