Please help, I have a form with 7 option buttions and a calendar. i would like to be able to run a query from the selection that is made. the way this would work is: 7 option buttions - listing different locations Calendar - select date the query would list any event and the start time and end time that fell on that date. my problem is that I dont know were to start. i have been told to use SQl statements. i have tried this but only failed miserably. the events and times are in 2 different tables, i cant get a SQL stastment to work like that. I have tried to use a List box, using the Row Source to display a query, but only 1 row showed. it still was unselectable. Please help, dont know were to go with.
I have made a few cascading combo-boxes that dynamically change based on the data entered into the field above them.. Example:
A SKU is entered, the combo-boxes pull the information for that sku from one or more tables (using SQL Query).
Now... I am having trouble getting these fields to show the first item in the list of possible item specifics. Everything comes in fine, however, I need to form to refresh and repopulate the fields one the SKU loses focus.
Hi, I am trying to make a list box that shows the first name of different people in the same family in a subform. I have the first names in different fields linked to the same ID, and the list box I keep making that sort of works will show the whole row of names (but also everyone else's first names down the list), and it will only keep the first name in that row when I select it. I would like to know how to make a list box that just shows the 2 or 3 first names linked to the last name or ID that is currently on the main form I am looking at.
1. i create a form and i want do do the searching in it so i but a button and combo box and the list box to show the results and the searching is from query

4. how can i add data to the combobox without going to the table ?
I have a list box (SUB CATEGORY) on my form where I can select multiple items. I have a query (Final) that has this field in it.
Problem - I cannot seem to get the list box selections to appear in the query results. What the "Criteria" should look like or maybe some code that I can try.
On my Class form when assigning students there is a combo box which shows the students names. Once a student is picked in the combo box their name shows up in the subform.
What I would like is a way to NOT show a student in the combo box after they have been selected. Is this possible? Or should I be looking at another way of doing this?
I have 2 tables one, Contacts, primary key ContactID this table contains names, addresses etc and one group called Form primary key Form ID, foreign Key Contact ID. I want to store the related contact ID in my form but display firstname ad surname from Contaacts list. This works fine when I am selecting name. List box shows 2 columns with correct data but when I recall the form after making other entries it only displays the firstname. The correct ContactID is stored. Why does this happen.
If I can get this working I would like to concatenate the Firstname and surname to make it more readable but don't know where to begin.
On a form I have a listbox that allows me to navigate around my records. The listbox is filtered and I get the redords that I waqnt from the table. My problem is that when I open the form the record that is showing is one from the table but not one that is in my listbox. I want it to show the first record in the listbox...This is the command I have on open:
Code: DoCmd.GoToRecord , "", acFirst
which is where the fault lies, but I dont know what I should put in its place. The list is List273 and the form is frm_Profile
I have the listbox named "payment_date", which shows recordset specified by following code:
Code: Private sub Form_Current() Dim que As String que = "SELECT [date] FROM payments WHERE id Like '" & Me!myid & "*' ORDER BY [date] desc;" Me.payment_date.RowSource = que End Sub
I need my listbox to show recordset with record count like this:
I have a check box list on my form for all 50 states, so the user can choose any number and any combination of possible states, which I need the user to be able to do, but when it displays the data it does so horzontally and delineated by a comma. The problem with this is that if enough states are selected, it eventually gets cut off at the end and doesn't display the last states. Is there any way to make it instead show vertically, since at least with that I can format around it and not have a horizontal bar going all the way across the form?

I'd like to query the line items for each manifest so the end result has the manifest number (Manifest #0001) in a field and the designations (N, H, P, U) in fields on a report.
I have a list box that allows multiple selections [Inventory]. I also have a combo box that has multiple selections [Shows].
Right now, user selects from list box and from a combo box and clicks a button. On button click, the items from the list box are associated with the PK from the combo and stored in a junction table. This allows me to quickly associate many inventory items to one show.
I realized that there I currently have no way to prevent duplicate Inventory+show records in the junction table besides having a composite key. This would be fine except no records get inserted into the junction table if there's a duplicate entry.
Ideally, I think that the user should select from the combo box [Shows]. This should narrow down what shows up in the list box [Inventory] in a way that Inventory items already associated with the show are not displayed.
If I have 10 Inventory items and Inventory items 1-5 are already associated with Show 1; after I select the combo box, the list box only displays Inventory items 6-10.
Here's the associated code

I am designing a contact database for a diocese and the contacts record form is divided into several tabs, some of which are hidden by default. One of the controls on the form is a listbox (lboRoles), where a user can add one or more roles to contacts. The listbox has a hidden column that defines the TabIndex for the assigned role, and my goal is to make the associated tab on the form that was previously hidden, to now be visible.
For example, if a contact is assigned the role "Committee Member" and the tabindex value for that role is 3, the form should make the hidden tab (where the page index is also 3) now visible.
We have a form that will have one combo box for Associates (like Employee in the OPs DB) which I've got set to show only active Associates for new entry per the tips in the above thread, but we'll also have a combo box for Developer which I need to function the same way. I don't know how to add that part to the On Current event?
Code: Private Sub Form_Current() Dim strComboRowSource As String If Me.NewRecord Then strComboRowSource = "SELECT T_Associates.AssociateID, T_Associates.Associate, T_Associates.Active " & _ "FROM T_Associates " & _ "WHERE (((T_Associates.Active)=True));"
I have a combo box in the header area. The record source, Bound Column are set correctly ( I know because I tested it on a form ). In this instance, the user would select from the dropdown list, the name of a member of staff, based on the click-event, and passing the Staff_ID to a variable, this would be used to filter a recordset/recordsource for the report. However, there is no dropdown ( or arrow on combo - so no name can be selected ) ?
I've created a form with two textboxes and a listbox. What I want to do is to show in the listbox the registers filtered by the 2 textboxes. But I would like that the listbox refreshes while typping in the textboxes. It was no problem to do filtering with only one textbox. The rowsource of the listbox is a query in which I set in the criteria Like [Forms]![Form1]![Textbox1].[Text] & "*"Then I write the code for the change event of the Textbox1:
Private Sub Textbox1_Change() Listbox1.Requery End Sub
With this I have no problem. The problem is when using the 2 textboxes. I write the same in the criteria, Like [Forms]![Form1]![Textbox2].[Text] & "*", on another field but it doesn't work. I also write the code for the second textbox:
Private Sub Textbox2_Change() Listbox1.Requery End Sub
The listbox doesn't filter with both textboxes. When you type in one of them, the listbox filters from it, but when you type in the other textbox, the listbox shows the whole table filtered with the characters of the second textbox.
I know that multivalue fields are not the best to use, but I have a simple database that they work fine in. My question is this: Is there a way to show the entire list of choices in the multivalue field on a report? Not just the ones selected, but all of them, whether checked or not? The multivalue field has a list of names and the user selects each name if they repond to a incident (fire, car accident, etc.). My report would show the entire list and count number of responses by each name during a date range. I want to show all of them on the report, with those not selected showing "0".
I have a parameter query built and am curious if anyone knows of a good way to allow the user to define which fields are displayed in the query results.
i tried looking for other threads discussing this without any luck.. not sure if it was my search terms or what. thanks so much for any help..
