I would like to have 3 buttons on a form. When clicking Button1, Button2 and Button3 should be shown and Button1 hidden. When clicking Button3, Button2 and Button3 should be hidden and Button1 shown.
How can I do this when it is not possible to manage the object being clicked? I tried the following which did not work because of managing an object clicked is not allowed.
Code:
Private Sub Button1_Click()
Button1.Visible = False
Button2.Visible = True
Button3.Visible = True

I'm trying to alter the look of my menu Menu Image.JPG. Depending on the User's Permission setting from the Table PermissionTable.JPG.
If they do not have permission for a company then, i want it to be hidden from the menu?
I am trying to find a way to hide the close button on the ribbon. My 2007 and 2010 users keep closing the database by the "x" and it's driving me nuts. I have an exit on the switchboard. I tried to disable navigation and ribbons under options and it hides everything except the x. I tried the code:
Code:
Docmd.Showtoolbar "Ribbon", acToolbarNo
In the startup form. Still doesn't give me what I want.
I would like to hide/unhide the navigation pane completely by using two buttons (pop the hood & close the hood) in a form. At this moment I used the following code:
Private Sub Command77_Click()
DoCmd.SelectObject acTable, , True
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdWindowHide
End Sub
Private Sub Command78_Click()
DoCmd.SelectObject acTable, , True
End Sub
This however makes my form shut down and not my navigation pane.
I have a continuous form that has several buttons, i am hiding them depending on which buttons they press before hand.
Is there a way to hide the spaces left by the invisible buttons using vba? or is there a simpler way?
i have the following code that hides 5 buttons depending if the user has permission which works fine.im trying to incorporate an IF statement if there is only 1 of the buttons visible then to automatically click the button. but if there is more than 1 do noting?
Code:
Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer)
Dim rsO As DAO.Recordset
Set rsO = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("SELECT tblUserPermission.UserFK, tblUserPermission.CompanyFK, tblUserPermission.Permission " & _
"FROM tblUserPermission INNER JOIN tblUser ON tblUserPermission.UserFK = tblUser.UserPK " & _
"WHERE Username = '" & Me.txtName.Value & "'")

I'm currently building a database in Access 2013. I've used Access many years ago, and not really in anger since maybe 2003, so I've been re-learning quite a lot. Here's an overview of my scenario, and issue:
The main purpose of my database is to allow engineers to log various bits of information when building, servicing and testing manufactured products for offshore exploration. Because some of the engineering team aren't so great with data entry etc, I've decided that, rather than deleting data, I'm going to use a 'deleted' flag: user clicks what he considers to be a delete button, but in reality an update query will simply update the flag and, because the form is built on a query which includes a 'where deleted = 0' filter, it'll no longer be shown. This will allow us more control over the data and will also allow me to check that everything is running okay.
My main forms include a number of subforms, including one which includes a second tier of nested form: Pin Maps for (electrical) Connectors.
What I need to achieve is fairly straightforward: as the user navigates around the form, I'd like a 'delete' button which is specific to that subform to become visible and for any other 'delete' buttons to become hidden. Once tested, the buttons would be 'stacked' in the same position at the top of the main form, so the user just thinks they're deleting the relevant record in the sub, or main, form.
I need to disable or hide the restore, minimize and close window buttons found in the top right hand corner of a form.
I navigation buttons that controls open, close etc already set up.
Hello everybody,
I’m new here and I have a question for you..
Is it possible to place round buttons or oval buttons on your forms instead of the normal square ones?
Greets,
Tom
Is this possible? I can't seem to find this q anywhere here so I thought I'd post.
I changed the colour of my form to white, but the Navigation Buttons at the bottom and the command buttons that I 've added stay at the default grey.
Is there anyway to change this? I right-clicked and tried changing it to white through the properties but there's nothing there that does this.
:confused:

I have been making some custom buttons and noticed that the size of my db went up 360kb after I added two buttons. One button consists of two images and the other button one image. The original file size was 2kb for each image. Is 360kb a normal increase in db size after converting images to buttons?
There might be a hefty price to pay, in db size, if I get carried away and add my "up market" buttons to all my forms!
Hi everyone,
I am trying to create a button on a form that will export only that record. On the command options I do not see there being an option to do such. Can anyone help? Thanks. I would like to export to excel or anything that will capture what I am looking at. I have noticed that Yes/no boxes do not export to excel?
I have a form that's unbound (Music) with a subform (Arist Info)that is bound. This subform also contains two other Subforms (bound).
Their names are (Album Info) and (Song Info). The subform (artist Info) contains some pagebreaks, which I'm trying to use to bring up
the two other subforms .The cmd buttons used to control the pagebreaks are located on the main form (Music). My problem is with the third & fourth cmd buttons. I can go back & forth nicely with the first two, and even go the the third. That's were the problem starts. I can't go back to the secound or first from the third or go to the four. The VB code haults and the GoToPage line is highlighted. The code use on the on click event is as followed:
Forms!Music.SetFocus
Forms!Music![Artist Info].SetFocus
Me.GoToPage 1
The only thing that changes between all four of the is the page#. I hope someone can help me with this, it's driving me crazy not knowing what i'm doing wrong. If you need to look at a smaple DB there's one on a post called "Problem dealing with macros". I just posted this one a few days ago.
Thanks,
Rich M.
Hi.
I was just wondering if you can hide a form in the windows status bar?
How can I remove all the bars specially the menu bar:
File, Edit, View, Insert,...
Goal - Show how many policies (dbo_Policy22.Policy.Number) were cancelled during a certain time period (Invoice Date).
Problem - a policy can be cancelled more than once and I don't want to count it after the initial cancel status (885).
Question - Below is my query. I'm thinking I type "Distinct" somewhere, but I have no idea where.
Please help :) Thank you.
SELECT dbo_Producer22.Number, dbo_Producer22.Name, dbo_Invoice22.Invoice_Date, dbo_Policy22.POLICY_STATUS, dbo_Policy22.Policy_Number
FROM dbo_Producer22 INNER JOIN ((dbo_Insured22 INNER JOIN dbo_Invoice22 ON dbo_Insured22.Insured_Key = dbo_Invoice22.Insured_Key) INNER JOIN dbo_Policy22 ON dbo_Insured22.Insured_Key = dbo_Policy22.Insured_Key) ON dbo_Producer22.Producer_Key = dbo_Policy22.Producer_Key
GROUP BY dbo_Producer22.Number, dbo_Producer22.Name, dbo_Invoice22.Invoice_Date, dbo_Policy22.POLICY_STATUS, dbo_Policy22.Policy_Number
HAVING (((dbo_Invoice22.Invoice_Date) Between [Forms]![PfrmYearToDate]![txtStartDate] And [Forms]![PfrmYearToDate]![txtEndDate]) AND ((dbo_Policy22.POLICY_STATUS)=885));
I was wondering if there is a way to hide 1 record from a query
say I have 3 user accounts and on a form I only want to display 2 of them form the query,so the other record is still present but cant be deleted by accident or viewed
I have a form with various fields, two of these fields are "Date Purchased" and "Lease End Date". When there is no value entered originally, I have made a default value of 12/30/9999.
The problem is that when you open the form and these two fields are next to each other, the user says it confuses them seeing a date even though it is a dummy date.
Is there a way for me to create a expression that will be something like:
IIf(DateField = 12/30/9999, Me.Datefield.Visible = False, Me.Datefield.Visible = True)
or VBA
Private Sub Form_AfterUpdate()
If Me.DateField.Value = "12/30/9999" Then
Me.DateField.Visible = False
Else
Me.DateField.Visible = True
End If
End Sub
If have tried both ways and neither works.
Is it possible to just hide a record? My form is based on a query so I know I could remove the record that way but I also have a box that calculates a average time, so the data that is produced by that record still needs to be taken into account. I want to hide some records pureley so the user dosent have to keep scrolling thriugh loads of records. Is it possible to do this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a continuous form "components" where the data is added by a query. There is no need to manually add records to the form, I just want to edit certain fields.
Is it possible to hide/disable the blank "new record" row at the bottom of the form?
I tried setting the form's "Allow Additions" property to no, but the line still appears.
Thanks for your help!

I created an app., for tracking changes, where once the user is logged in , the login form is hidden.
When a user modify the status of a change, i cretaed an event procedure in the update before. In that event procedure i am opening a new form to ask to continue or not and then i hide it. When the program comes back to the form where the event procedure is, it closes the hidden form, which asked to continue or not. The problem is that it closes the login form as well.
To sum up:
-Login form is hidden
- Edit form calls Confirm form
- when user comfirm, teh comfirm form is hidden.
- Edit form, close Comfirm form and also login form. (i dont want to close login).
Here is the code to close comfirm form in edit form....
DoCmd.Close acForm, "comfirm"
thank you, max.
Please give all the info you can. I have my database and forms set up. what I want to do is just see my forms and not see access in the background. Please specify where I enter code if it's provided. thanks for all your help,
