How Can I Run MS Access Program Automatically From The Startup, Show It In Sys Tray
Jun 3, 2007
I developed a program. Would you please teach me how to run it automatically when the computer restarted, through the startup.
Plus this I want to let this program run through the system tray, and not shown in the the Taskbar, if this feature is provided by MS Access 2003
Thankful...

We are having a problem with mulitple users leaving an Access db open and then I am not able to make new reports, etc. without calling everyone to close their session.
Is there a way to automatically close a db if user has not used in certain amount of time?
Thanks, Noreene

How can I setup my form print button to print to a specific printer, and then to a specific tray? We need to use different colors depending on the item we're printing. This is possible by changing the printer settings as I print each form, but I'd like a more automated way to do this. Help please. Jolene

hi, can anyone help me? i have created a database for the use of a distribution centre which consists of order details and other information. the main idea is for the system to show the next order listed automatically to the user. i have a table of new order details. each order can be one of three either completed, pending or awaiting delivery. so i want the system to automatically clear the completed ones for the user and for the next order details which are pending or awaiting delivery to be shown. how can i do this?

Hi Everyone.
I am new to MS Access. I got two databases. The 1st database consists of the basic fields like the department, adress, salary etc of the employers(Primary key is the ID). Now in the 2nd database I have the same basic fields and some extra fields. Now my requirement is to when I enter the ID in 2nd database, all the basic fields have to be filled up based on the 1st database( May be I should link the 2 databases).
I really appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance,
Anil.

I have a main form called "frmMain" and on it I have a text control named "txtBoatStatus". The control source for txtBoatStatus is determined by code that I have in the Form_Current event. The code is as follows:
(begin code sample)
Dim BoatStatus as Variant
BoatStatus = DCount("[BoatComplete]", "tblBoatOrders", "[BoatComplete] = -1 And [OrderPresent] = -1")
txtBoatStatus.Value = "There are " & BoatStatus & " boat orders that are complete."
(end code sample)
Now when I first open the frmMain everything works great and the control will say, "There are 5 boat orders that are complete." Perfect. However, In the instance if I open the form with my Boat Orders and mark off another order as complete (bringing my total to 6), the txtBoatStatus does not update when I reopen frmMain. It will only update and show, "There are 6 boat orders that are complete." if I manually hit SHIFT+F9.
How can I do this automatically? I've tried various things such adding "Me.Recalc" or "Me.Requery" to differnt events, controls, etc. but I still cant get it to show the updated number automatically. How can I get it to update without SHIFT+F9?

Before I start on this seemingly endless journey of learning Access 2003, I thought it appropriate to ask the question;
Will this program do what I need it to do?
I apologise in advance if this is not the right place to ask the question, I am a complete beginner to Access 2003.
I want to make an electronic log book for the guys at work, there are 5 people of different trades who would need to keep the log.
A typical entry would be as follows
Mon 22/3/06 Alan Smith B Shift
Compressor house (heading)
No 1 compressor (plant)
Oil pump (component)
Filter cleaned (action taken)
Personel (heading)
John Jones (personel)
Phoned in sick at 15:00hrs, will phone tomorrow to update
Boiler house (heading)
No 4 boiler (plant)
Water vlave leak (problem)
Tightened gland (action taken)
There are many headings, probably hundreds of plant, thousands of components and actions taken
We would need to view events to particular plant or areas between certain dates, some personel would need to enter data, some would only view the data without being able to enter it, few would need to alter the data.
Is Access 2003 capable of this, should I start the journey?
regards

Hello all!
Please forgive me for being a COMPLETE novice at Access, but I am trying!
What I need to do, is have an ordered list, which has check boxes along side each item.
When the relevant items have been checked, I need to be able to save or export to CSV, with ONLY the items which have been checked!!
I need the list to be pulled from a seperate source (like an excel spreadsheet) so that it can be updated easily...
Can anyone help?
so...
Item 1 [X]
Item 2 [ ]
Item 3 [ ]
Item 4 [X]
Item 5 [ ]
Item 6 [X]
would produce a CSV file:
Item 1, Item 4, Item 6,
Simple enough?

I believed that Access is a stable DB program. It looks like I may have to change this view. Yesterday, due to some fault in power supply (SMPS), my PC suddenly went off while I was working in my Access DB. My DB is a personal DB (single user). Today, after replacing the SMPS, when I opened my DB, Access gave a message that my DB is corrupted while it was being used last time. It asked to attempt repair with Yes/No button. I clicked the Yes button and it did nothing. In my third attempt, I was able to open my DB but I am worried whether it will work as before. Could the experts in this forum throw some light about Access DB' stability and measures to prevent corruption? Grateful for advice.

I have a database that will be used by a few users who are not very comfortable with Microsoft Access. I have a login screen and a introduction/splash popup. I was wondering if it is possible to bypass the Microsoft Access pop-ups that ask the user if they want to "block unsafe code.." or The security popup that says "This file may not be safe" so that the users go right to the login screen I created within the database. I am worried that there will be variations in answering/clicking these Microsoft Access questions thus causing a variety of complaints when trying to access the database. Thank you

Hi
I've just moved my PC over to Office 2007. I have previously created an application in A2003 that consists of three databases which I move between frequently using command buttons running the following code to close the current one and open the new one:-
Private Sub Command14_Click()
Dim RegSet As New QwestLib.QRegistryFunctions
On Error GoTo Err_command14_Click
DoCmd.Close acForm, "client action", acSaveYes
Application.FollowHyperlink RegSet.sGetMAPRegistry(200)
Application.Quit acQuitSaveAll
Exit_command14_Click:
Exit Sub
Err_command14_Click:
MsgBox Err.Description
Resume Exit_command14_Click
End Sub
In 2003 this worked fine but we always had to enable macros on opening the new one. This is now not required as the application is "Trusted" but in A2007 every time a database opens the "Getting Started with MS Access" window opens.
Is there some way I can switch this off as it is unnecessary and time consuming.

Hi,
I'm trying to migrate an Access 2000 project to Access 2007. I want that the frontend doesn't look like Access. This means: no ribbons, no office button, no Quick Access Toolbar, no database panel. In 2K, this was rather simple, but in 2007 I only managed so far to get rid of the ribbon (by replacing it with a blank ribbon) and the navigation pane, but I can't figure out what to do to hide the Office button and the QAT.
Can anyone help me with this ?

I thought I had this figured out, but apparently am still missing something...
When I start my DB, I get the default 'Security Warning' message every time asking if I want to cancel or continue... I thought this was an options setting under the Tools/Macro/Security setting. However, when I change this setting (default is Medium) to Low, exit Access and restart the DB I get the same warning message and the security setting is back to medium.
Am I in the right area to fix this? Why would my settings default back?
Thanks
