How Do I Lengthen Form Page Size?

Sep 5, 2005

I am adding fields to my form in Design View and I need to lengthen the page to make more room. Up until now, no problem, but now I am at 22 inches long and it will not expand any farther. I have just been grabbing the little bar at the bottom of page and pulling it longer, but now it has quit and won't let me make it longer. Is there a setting somewhere where I can make it so it can go longer. Surely Access doesn't limit your form page length to only 22 inches does it? Thanks!

Reports :: Show Fixed Size Data In The Bottom Right Corner Of Page When Printed

Jul 3, 2015

I have a report which shows the results of two separate queries in a simple table view.

One set of data varies in size depending on the amount of records and the other is a fixed size and never changes.

I'm wanting to make my report always show the fixed size data in the bottom right corner of the page when its printed.

I've tried putting it in the footer section of the report but don't want it to affect the size of the details section and just show next to the other query results.

Is this possible and if so how would I achieve this?

Forms :: One Page Form Printing Blank Second Page

Oct 21, 2013

I have one-page forms which print a second page, blank except for a block of grey shading at the top. I have tried moving the content of the form up but that doesn't eliminate the second page. If I look at print preview, every second page of the entire database shows up as blank, regardless of where that happens to appear in the record.

Calendar On Page 1 Also Displaying On Page 4 Of Form

Sep 3, 2006

Hi All

I have added the Allen Browne Calendar 2k control to my form.

My form consists of 4 pages. On pages 2 and 3 I have subforms and on page 4 I have Personal data. Page 1 is general data and the Calendar is on Page 1.

What is happening is that the Calendar is also being displayed on my 4th page, in the same position as page 1. When I try to move it, cover it or delete it from page 4, it is also gone from page 1.

Any suggestions please?

Many thanks
Tee :(

Going From Page To Page In A Tabbed Form

Oct 25, 2005

I have a form with six tabbed pages on it. Since data entry follows in a logical order I would like to put a command button on the bottom of each page (subform) that can be used to go to the next page. What I am going to though? If i put a command button (open form) then it opens the whole form not as a subform on a tabbed page. if I try and put a command button (open page) then it will not let me enter the page number. Hope that makes sense! Any ideas

Large Field Size = Larger Overall Database Size?

Aug 29, 2005

Will keeping your field size shorter result in a smaller MDB file?

Or does Access only use as much space as there is real data in its fields.

Way back in the dBASE III days, dBASE would pad all your "real" information with as many spaces as necessary to fill up your field. I suspect that the MDB structure is probably smarter than that.

Another question on the same topic - I believe there is a maximum number of characters in a record (4000?). Can your field sizes add up to more than 4000, as long as the actual data, all combined, never totals 4000...?
Thanks............

General :: How To Make Form Controls Change Size / Position As Form Is Resized

Jul 24, 2013

how to make my form controls change size / position as my form is resized / loaded on a computer with a different resolution. Several of the tutorials out there suggest putting code on the "on resize" property of the form. When I looked at the Northwind database to try to mimic their code however, it looks like they must be doing something different as there is no on resize code under the form properties and I was unable to find the code they do use.

Section Header At Bottom Of Page And Detail Lines On Next Page

Nov 22, 2004

I have a report that lists states and cities within the states. When a state name happens to be at the end of the page the individual cities appear on the next page with no State heading. I solved the second page problem by setting the "repeatSection = Yes" in the Section Header (though I haven't shown that in the example below).

But the previous page (which just shows the State Name and no cities looks dumb. Is there some sort of solution.??
(Actually I would also like any State that continues to a next page to not just have the state name but something like
" Colorado (Continued)" Is there anything I can do in VB to make a page break if the section is going to print but therer isn't enough room for one detail line?

This is what I currently see

Alaska
Ancorage
Prudo Bay

California
Whittier
Anaheim

Colorado
------------------------Page Break ---------------------------------
Denver
Pueblo
Colorado Springs

Deleware
Dover

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks !

Reports :: Page Header - Don't Display If No Detail Records - On Last Page

Jun 13, 2015

If I have a report and it has controls (labels representing column titles) in the page header. Now when I print the report - if it happens that the last page has no detail records - but there is text boxes and so forth in the report footer. Is there a way to not display the page header on the last page?

I have a report where the last page shows the page header - and the field/column labels on the page header - but for which there is no detail records left to display - on the last page. There is report footer information that should display. It just looks weird because the field/column labels show at the top of the page - but there is no data remaining to print under them on that last page.

Data Access Page Filter Refresh The Page

Dec 30, 2007

Hi All,

I have a data access page needs a filter by a dropdownlist, the dropdownlist used is a html control and I use javascript to filter the data programmaticlly in the onchanged event of the control.

MSODSC.DataPages(0).Recordset.Filter="AppID = 3";

My problem is, when this statement runs, the page refreshes. But I don't need the page refreshes, it set the dropdownlist text to the default text, not the value user select. The browser is IE7.

How can I stop the page refresh itself?

Thanks and Happy New Year!!

Problem Setting A Size Of The Form

Nov 23, 2005

Hi guys

In my database I have a main form and depending on the options chosen on this form other forms will pop up on the screen.

I want the main form to cover the whole page therefore in the On Open event I have used the Docmd.Maximize function. The problem is that after this point all the other forms will maximize once they are open! How can I stop the pop up forms from maximizing and make them open in a specific size? What code can I use for this?

Thanks

Form Size And Display Issues

Dec 28, 2005

Hello,

I have designed a bunch of forms that the user will access through the Switchboard. Things are working fine except that when I deployed the application to a different machine from mine, the forms appear to not display properly in the sense that they are appearing too big and the user needs to scroll horizontally to see it completely (which was not the case in my machine).

So, I just want to know if there is a setting that enables the forms to resize per the machine being dipalyed on or if I should have designed the form within a particular size that ensures that they displayed properly in most machine (fyi, most of my forms had a total horizontal width of about 9 on the horizontal ruler in form design view).

Any guidance is much appreciated. thanks.

Forms :: Controlling Form Size?

Feb 2, 2015

I have one form "Products" that I have a button on which opens up another form. The second form lists a different number of lines depending on how many items are in a group.

The problem I am having is that I can not make the second form shrink or grow depending on how many line items I have in each group. Currently, I have to make the form as large as the most possible lines I could have (which is 19) but sometimes I might only have 5 lines in a form.

Reports :: Footer To Bottom Of Page Or Page Footer To Last Page Only

Oct 23, 2014

I am trying to create an invoice report. I want to add all the costs from the detail section in my footer. I have accomplished this in either the Report footer and/or the page footer, but the problem is that the report footer doesn't go to the bottom of the page, and the page footer doesn't go to just the last page. I have tested a bunch of suggestions that don't seem to work.

1. Print page footer with Report header = NO - only works if your report is two pages or more.

2. Private Sub PageFooterSection_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
If Page = Pages Then
Me.[TextBoxName].Visible = True
Else
Me.[TextBoxName].Visible = False
End If
End Sub

The Page functions worked, but it did not change the results from page to page. If it was a two page report, then the if statement is false and the text box was not visible on page 1, but it also was not visible on page 2.
