Hi there thanks for all your help on the last problem got it working now. What I need now is 2 crosstab queries to become one, example below on how I want it to look:
Created By-----Total Of Date-----Total Of Date Taken-----Policy Name Type (eg Breakdown,Caravan going across counting Date and Date qouted in separate columns)
Here is the SQL for each crosstab query:
TRANSFORM Count([Date]) AS [The Value]
SELECT [Created By], Count([Date]) AS [Total Of Date]
FROM qryPresonalReport
GROUP BY [Created By]
PIVOT [Policy Name Type];
TRANSFORM Count(qryPresonalReport.[Date Taken]) AS [The Value]
SELECT qryPresonalReport.[Created By], Count(qryPresonalReport.[Date Taken]) AS [Total Of Date Taken]
FROM qryPresonalReport
GROUP BY qryPresonalReport.[Created By]
PIVOT qryPresonalReport.[Policy Name Type];
TRANSFORM Workersdetail.workername AS CountOfedate SELECT Workersdetail.[attendance], Count(Workersdetail.[edate]) AS [Total Of edate] FROM Workersdetail GROUP BY Workersdetail.[Workername], Workersdetail.[attendance], Workersdetail.[workerhourenter] PIVOT site+Cstr([workerhourenter])
I wanted to know that, is there any option through which my report gets autoupdate or refresh incase of addition in SITE field (as mentioned with PIVOT)?
I am trying to make a crosstab query to filter my records from my table.
Here is the scenario.
I want to make a query that will return me my Rep ID, Rep Name, his Bonus and his GV-Q (another value) based on every month.
Now I make a crosstab query and here is the syntax.
Code: TRANSFORM First([TBL Qualification Data India].[Bonus Rank]) AS [FirstOfBonus Rank] SELECT [TBL Qualification Data India].[Rep #], [TBL Qualification Data India].[Rep Name] FROM [TBL Qualification Data India] GROUP BY [TBL Qualification Data India].[Rep #], [TBL Qualification Data India].[Rep Name] PIVOT [TBL Qualification Data India].Period;
This resulted in a column for Rep Number, one column for Rep Name and columns for all the period of Bonus I am going to have., so there are basically 9 columns for this till this month for each month and bonus value shows as values for all these month (period) columns.
Now in this same syntax, I want to have my Rep GV-Q value as well as his bonus to show in the same query, I read and came to know that it's not possible to directly have two values or two column headings in a crosstab query, I must have to make a new crosstab query and then use a normal select query to display records from these two crosstab queries, so I went ahead and made a new similar but with one value field changed crosstab query and here is the syntax for that.
Code:
TRANSFORM First([TBL Qualification Data India].[GV-Q]) AS [FirstOfGV-Q] SELECT [TBL Qualification Data India].[Rep #], [TBL Qualification Data India].[Rep Name] FROM [TBL Qualification Data India] GROUP BY [TBL Qualification Data India].[Rep #], [TBL Qualification Data India].[Rep Name] PIVOT [TBL Qualification Data India].Period;
Now after this how to make a select query to show the data from these two queries.
I can make a normal query based on these two crosstab queries and manually add all fields and then I would have my result but then after every month I have to manually enter these two extra month details from both crosstab queries to my final query and that's not what I want.
Is there any method to do this by gathering data from these two queries into one and achieve the result I want or if there is any other approach to tackle this.
To explain my database and my need for output, I am attaching few pics to make things easier if I made some mistakes in explaining my problem. It's included in attached zip since I am not able to post images or links.
I'm trying to construct an SQL crosstab query that will output data like the picture I've attached in the .zip file.
The four variables from the data table would be [Client Accounting].[Marketer] (the left vertical column), [Client Accounting].[Closing Date] (the higher level horizontal column grouped by month), [Client Accounting].[Write Off] and [Client Accounting].[Refund] (the lower level horizontal columns as sums)
The totals column at the bottom and the two vertical columns at the right would be made in the report and wouldn't need to be in the query.
This is what I have so far but I don't know how to add a second TRANSFORM statement to be included and grouped by month!
Code: TRANSFORM Sum([Client Accounting].[Refund]) AS SumOfRefund SELECT [Client Accounting].[Marketer] FROM [Client Accounting] GROUP BY [Client Accounting].[Marketer] PIVOT Format([Closing Date],"mmm") In ("Jan","Feb","Mar","Apr","May","Jun","Jul","Aug","Sep","Oct","Nov","Dec");
Hi all, I am utterly unsure if what I want to do is even possible:
I have two crosstab queries, qryRewCOCredit and qryWrapCOCredit which show the changeover (CO) times for the specified machine when they are NOT zero. (all zero entries don't show up).
There are many cases when there is a CO for the Rewinder on a specific day, but not for the Wrapper, and vice versa.
I want to make another crosstab query which performs a calculation. To keep it simple:
If (RewCOCredit>WrapCOCredit) Then 5-RewCOCredit Else 'WrapCOCredit>RewCOCredit 5-WrapCOCredit
I want to take this data and create six new columns (operator1; operator2; operator3; operator4; operator5; operator6) for each permit number so that each unique operator name will be housed in each of those six columns, with the rows being defined by the permit number. So, I want to produce something that looks like this...
Permit
operator1 operator2
[code]....
At present, there are as many as 6 operators per permit, but the number of operators per permit varies from 1 to 6. I included an example that has 5 operators, to show that I want the sixth column to be null in this instance. So if a permit had only one operator, only the operator1 field would take on a non-null value in the new table/query.I know how to do this with 2 operators per permit by using min/max or first/last functions in a query, but I don't know how to deal with more than two operators per permit.
1) Access Runtime gives you limited choices for your root install directory and they all involve your OS HDD which in most cases is C:. Well that's no good if you want to install this on a shared network drive somewhere for everyone to use. How does one get around this?
2) The DB I've built includes the ability to update the table via a form. What happens when more then one user tries to update the table at the same time?
I have a text box linked back to a table and I am needing to be able to make multiple entries at one time for this text box but when I enter the first number and hit tab all the other text boxes that are linked to this one in the table show the same number....
I have 3 cross tab queries that are completely identical with the exception of the field that they pivot. Each field is searching for the same values just in different columns, with the end goal being to get the sum of the values for each pivoted column. I'm wondering rather than having 3 almost identical queries is there a way to use a crosstab to sum the values from each of the three fields rather that having 3 queries which then have to be aggregated in a fourth?
QUERY1
Code: TRANSFORM IIf(Count(PT_LEVEL.UNIT) Is Null,0,Count(PT_LEVEL.UNIT)) AS CountOfUNIT SELECT PT_LEVEL.INF_YEAR, PT_LEVEL.INF_MONTH, PT_LEVEL.UNIT
I've got a table of associate directors "t_ADnames" and want to build separate tables for each AD name that pulls a pass through query from our data warehouse. I'm thinking it's got to be done with a macro somehow? So it would run pass_query where AD name = "John" and insert into t_john, then it would check the next name in t_ADnames and run the same query for say "Mark" and insert all his data into t_mark and so on until the list (of about 12 people) has been completed.
I am making a database that has to do with Preventive maintenance. Everything is going good and I came to a problem. There are recurring events. Some are weekly monthly quarterly etc all the way to 5 years. When I put in the task and a start date and the occurrence. So Say I put in a date of a task for today and its set to monthly I want the next record to be 1/13/14 for the task and go all the way up to infinity until a box is checked making it inactive.
I have two tables with compatible data. Table 1 has 23 records and table 2 has 5 records. I am trying to make a "make Table". But instead of a table with a combined 28 results, I get 115.
I want to be able to make row searches for multiple sets of characters at the same time.The default setting cancels a row if I have inputed a set that is not on that row.Something that could be used in a store or by a lawyer looking for specifics.So these are what I am looking for:
Primary
1.) I want any row with any of the words I type to show on the results.
2.) I want the rows with the most matches to show up first.
Secondary
1.) Recognize sets of characters that are close to what I type to make up for spelling errors and typos, prioritize those that are closest.
2.) To be able to choose the rows I want and add them to another list quickly where the summing cost will be calculated in the last raw (multiplying the price of a row by how many the customer wants.)
:confused: I am trying to help someone with a complex problem (so it seems to me) but I will first ask about what should be a simple thing....
First goal: to COUNT the number of times a TYPE of visit is made. There are several different TYPEs but only interested in tracking 2 of them.
When a crosstab query is created - if one of the 2 parameters are not "met", a blank is returned. I have been reading posts about using NZ and IIf IsNull, etc to get past that - but none of them make any sense to me and the Access help suggestions do not work. Hope someone can make it clear with this information: (can't give more specifics to keep privacy intact)
The SQL was written by Access not by me. :)
Here is an example of the Crosstab SQL (which is using a previous query):
TRANSFORM Count([qryTest2.TYPE]) AS CountOfTYPE SELECT qryTest2.CID FROM qryTest2 GROUP BY qryTest2.CID PIVOT qryTest2.TYPE;
----------- qryTest2 SQL: (Grouping by to remove dups)
SELECT DISTINCTROW tblM.CID, tblM.[M#], tblM.LNAME, tblM.FNAME, tblM.YMDBIRTH, tblC.ClDOS, tblC.TYPE FROM tblM LEFT JOIN tblC ON tblM.[M#] = tblC.[M#] GROUP BY tblM.CID, tblM.[M#], tblM.LNAME, tblM.FNAME, tblM.YMDBIRTH, tblC.ClDOS, tblC.TYPE HAVING (((tblC.TYPE)="Out" Or (tblC.TYPE)="In")) ORDER BY tblM.CID, tblM.LNAME, tblM.FNAME;
I have a database which among other things records how jobs are received i.e.: Telephone, Email, Mail, Facsimile or Web.For each client I want to identify the percentages of each method of receipt against the total of jobs received and during different time periods.I have created a make table query for all jobs received between variable dates for a client entry of the name of the client and the start and finish dates are required to run the query.
I have a crosstab query set up to count each method of receipt and a final query to work out the percentages using the total from the crosstab query fields divided by the total of all methods.I have a macro set up to replace the table with new data when I want the stats for a different client between new dates, therefore the different methods of receipt may vary for the less active clients i.e.: they may only have telephone and email .
My problem is if I choose a client where we have not received a job by a particular method (say web or facsimile), the last query working out the percentages has fixed names to cover each method but naturally produces an error when it cannot find a corresponding method of receipt. I have experimented with NZ() without success.My question is can I either have preset standard names of the column field in a crosstab query? Alternatively in the query calculating the percentages, can I include code to ignore a non-existent field in the crosstab query.
Hello All, Your Help Required. I have send you a Database, in which I have used Crosstab query, I just want when I select the report from switchboard, and enter the datefrom / dateto (fields names) than click the preview report. Required report is open.
I have faced following problems 1-When I have selected the report and click the preview button. Report is not opened. 2-I have used cross tab query and link with the switchboard. But when I have run the query this msg is appeared “Microsoft Jet engine Does not recognized these field(name)”
I am am wondering if it is possible to create a crosstab query that displays alphanumeric values and not numeric (computational) values.
Ex: Table contains the following details:
Name Branch Bob 111 Bob 222 Joe 333 Pam 444
I want to use a crosstab so I can view the data as follows:
Name Branch1 Branch2 Bob 111 222 Joe 333 Pam 444
Is this possible? I've been playing around with it and it doesnt look doable. Perhaps there is a better way of getting the data into this format? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I'm trying to create a crosstab query with criteria that refers to a combo box on a form to allow me to filter data before the query is created. However when I refer to the combo box (e.g. = forms!frmSite!CmbSiteName) I am told that access does not recognise this as a 'valid field name or expression'. With a normal select query I dont have the same problem. Is there a way around this?
Admittedly this is my first time doing a crosstab query, but I have both my column and rowe headers set to group by, I kinda assumed this would group them in much the same way a pivot table does in excel
Any help on this would be great
Hmm, doesnt want to keep the spacing in it :( hopefully you can get the idea
I have a report based on a crosstab query and the data changes every time the report is run even though the data is not updated. Can anyone shed some light?
I need help with a crosstab query ( :eek: ). I would like the column headings to be the last 6 months, the row headings to be billers, and the data in the middle to be both the date that a payment was made (falling within the month headings) and also the amount paid in that payment. Sometimes there might be more than one payment to a biller in a month or there might be no payments to that biller in a month. All of the raw data needed is in one table. I have read about crosstab queries, tried to use the wizard, and looked at examples but I can't get it to work:confused: . Could someone show me how this should be written? :)
