I would like to change the reports drop down.
1) Change the names of the reports

I have a drop down list with the following : Week And Weekend :. I want to change the Average field depending what is selected. But having a problem.
I'm using the below code, but does not work
Code:
=IIf([Days select]="Weekend", [Reports]![Weekend Settings]![Average),([Reports]![Week Settings]![Average])
I have a spreadsheet that has been downloaded from a website. On the website people have chosen from a group of 28 checkboxes their answer. I have imported this spreadsheet into access. I now need to be able to run a report that shows only the one they chose instead of listing all 28..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a new user of Access and I'm required to input a survey into access. The data collected is being analyzed afterwards and therefore there cannot be any alpha content in the original table so I assigned multiple choice options numbers to correspond to the answers. In form view however I need the drop down boxes to spell out the answers, not just the numbers so the interviewer can read them out, I've seen this done on other similar surveys..I also tried going into form view and editing the drop down choices but that changes the table values.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of reports I have created. A lot of them are the same report but with different criteria. Right now I just have a report form, which displays all of the reports with buttons and the user chooses the desired report, clicks, and bam. In an attempt to make this look nicer and cleaner, is there a way to use a couple of drop down menus to open the reports. For example, can I group them by the main report category, have a drop down, click on a desired report and it opens from there??
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with a couple of my combo boxes. When in form mode the drop down menu displays a list of options (taken from my source table), this is fine, but the problem is that it allows the user to select more than one of the options in the form of checkboxes. This is not what I intended.
I've attached to pictures to demonstrate the problem. The first is ComboBoxQuery (the one with the problem) and the second is ComboBoxQueryWorkign (the one without a problem).
I'm not sure why this is happening and I've tried comparing all the properties of both these combo boxes and changing some of them to see if I can eliminate the problem without any joy.
I use a very standard SELECT statement to pull the data for the combo box:
SELECT CountryID, CountryName FROM tblCountryInfo ORDER By CountryName
I have a textbox that has 3 columns in it (Rank, First Name, Last Name)...when the user selects the appropriate choice, it just shows the Rank.
Ex: Lt. John Smith --> just shows Lt.
To get around this I made an unbound text box and have it set to show all three choices when the selection is made in the drop down box. Unfortunately, it isn't working right. This is the code I am using for the text box:
=[OPRID].[column](1) & [OPRID].[column](2) & [OPRID].[column](3)
Is there anything that looks wrong with this code?
What it ends up showing in the text box is: JohnSmith (no rank, no space between the names).
I have a report which lists spend by customer. It is based on a query which requests the customer number I want the report for.
How can I get the query/report to offer a drop down list of the customer numbers available, so that I don't have to manually enter the number each time from memory!
Thanks in advance!
Regards
Peter
I've made a query and designed a report for it. Simply it includes:
Area code, customer name, other customer details.
I want other people, when they click on the report to be given a drop down box which allows them to choose a specific area code before it generate the report. So, for example, they just want to look at Yorkshire region records, they choose Yorkshire from the drop down box and it'll generate the Yorkshire report. I've searched around but can't find what these are called.
I have a query which works perfectly fine, it's the report that I'm having issues with displaying correctly.
My report is a daily personnel accountability report that shows where everyone is for the day. Instead of having a cumbersome query like I did before, I have opted to just use the results of the selected drop-down option to move the X to the appropriate box of where so-and-so is for the day.
Using
Code:
If [marked_as] = 1 Then
Me.Morning.Value = "X"
ElseIf [marked_as] = 2 Then
Me.Afternoon.Value = "X"
ElseIf [marked_as] = 3 Then
Me.Evenings.Value = "X"
End If
I was unable to get it to work accurately outside of showing the three dummy names under the same column, even though the three dummy names were each placed in one of the three test categories.
I have this set as a private function called when the report loads, which is based on a query that filters down to the exact department or office (depending on the user's selection). Like I said, that part works fine, it's getting the code to accurately display in the correct column.
filter reports by specific date types in a drop down or combo box I would like the dates to be
Today
Tomorrow
The next 3 days and the next 7 days
i don't want a date picker or between dates I have tried searching but cannot seem to find an answer They are for my engineers, they want to know what callouts they have today or tomorrow or the next 3 days or this week.
I would like to be able to send reports in PDF straight to a folder in Drop box with the click of a button.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDrag and Drop works great but how do I open a reports based on what I selected?
I have two list boxes the first is "items not selected" and the second is "Items selected" now I want to create a button that open a report showing the result from "Items selected"?? Hope someone can help I've been to ms access web site but our firewall does not allow any down loads. Thanks in advance.
I have a report that can be used for 3 different queries. I've been trying for the last hour or so to get three different buttons on a form to open this report but give it an appropriate record source.
I figured there's got to be a way that's easier than three queries, and three reports...?
I was trying to use the same format as with forms :
[Reports]![rptReportName].recordsource = "qryQueryName"
or variations of that. Am I way off? It keeps saying that I've misspelled the name or it doesn't exist.
Is it possible to conditionally change a font name? Report field is set for Wingdings 2 so I can print a check mark if underlying value is true. Wanting to change back to calibri to print "X" if not true. Haven't been able change it in an if statement. A macro setvalue fieldname.fontname to "calibri" throws type mismatch error. Setproperty choices don't include fontname.

I have a bar graph on a report in ms access that represents 4 different risks ie count on the y axis and risk type on the x axis (low, moderate high and extreme)
Question: How do i get the each bar to automatically represent the colour based on the risk colours below?
Low: Green
Moderate : Blue
High : Yellow
Extreme: Red

View 8 Replies View RelatedI design/maintain an Access database for a friend's business using my home computer. The printer he uses allows for much smaller margins than mine does, so anytime I edit a specific report that uses very small margins, my computer automatically increases them to the minimum margins my printer allows and when the business owner runs the report on his computer it spills on to extra pages.
Right now every time I make a change, I need to go directly to his computer and adjust the margins within the report after the new front end is uploaded. Is there any way around this, such as telling Access to ignore the printer's minimum margins?
Is there anyway that access could create a drop down box within a drop down box? For instance, when a selection is made in a drop down box, it opens another drop down box with choices. And is it possible to link an inserted image from a form to open in MSPaint that when it opens, the image is already there?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy workstation has a default printer that only prints A4, but I have an Access 2007 file with reports that require A3.
When I open these reports they see the A4 'default' printer.
If I try to change to the A3 printer in the report page setup (in design or print preview mode) it doesn't change - it keeps the default 'A4' and/or Access crashes.
If I change my workstation default printer to
The A3 printer and then open the Access file & report it works Ok (it picks up the A3 printer as default).
Can I use VBA to set the default printer and page setup to A3 when the report opens?
How to change the Title of a graph with code. By title I mean the box on the graph that automatically displays the name of the table used to create the graph in the chart wizard. I've tried numerous bits of code found in different forums but they all failed.
Access 2010
OLE Class: Microsoft Graph Chart
Class: MSGraph.Chart.8
I have a table named z_ResltsSampleCountMonthly. In that table I have fields SampleSize, Month and LOB.
I have a report that I need to use a Dlookup in order to pull the SampleSize by LOB into my report. However, my report has three columns that change based on the start and end dates for the report. It shows current month plus the two prior months to show a trend.
So I have each column heading update automatically based on the dates the user enters into the start and end date on the main menu form.
If they select 12/1/14 to 12/31/14 the three columns heading would update to October 2014, November 2014, and December 2014. In the table I have the data for all three months so when I use this formula it works but it's putting September 2014 data under October 2014 so I need to have multiple criteria; one being the LOB and the other being the column heading which is equal to the field Month in the table.
Code:
=DLookUp("[SampleSize]","z_ResultsSampleCountMonthly","[LOB] = ""CMES""")
This is what I tried to do to add the second criteria to pull based on text59 being equal to the Month field in the table but it's not working:
Code:
=DLookUp("[SampleSize]","z_ResultsSampleCountMonthly","[LOB] ="CMES" And [Month] = ' " & [Text59] & " ' ")
Objective to have a report generated from a query (Based on a Storage Table) in the record-source however need to make adjustments to each record based on the query output ie User Id is outputted as number as it needs to be for everything else but on the report loading needs to run an sql query on that ID number to get the name and then replace that value with the name and so on for each record and each appropriate column
Problem:I can either change All of the records outputted with the first records info or nothing at all. i need this process to occur individually on each outputted record
How can I change report Sorting and Grouping through code? I tried:
Dim rpt As Report
Dim strReportName As String
strReportName = "ReportName"
[Code].....
But this did not work. I assume because it is on the Open command for the report. I think I might have to place some Event Procedure in the Group Header - On Format or On Print? However, I can not find the right syntax to do that.
