On a form I have multiple labels. In the Click event of all these labels I would like to call a generic function for futher processing. For this processing however, I need the caption of the label the user clicked on. How do I determine this caption?
I have globally defined 'Progress' as integerer and using the following code on my splash screen - i want to add a "." to the end of the label caption until progress = 10 (10 timer events)
Private Sub Form_Load() Progress = 0 End Sub
Code: Private Sub Form_Timer() Dim Dot As String Dot = "." Progress = Progress + 1 Me.lblProgress.Caption If Progress = 10 Then DoCmd.OpenForm "frmLogin" DoCmd.Close acForm, "frmSplash" End If End Sub
I have a text box in a form, in which users enter updates. I would like that text to become the caption on a label in a printable report. How would I write the VBA to do this?
This code works well and frmRepair opens with the updated label caption. The original value was "Return/repair Information"
A few other things need to change on frmRepair depending on this caption as well as the values of some other fields, so I use the following code in the onload event (although I later tried the onopen even)
Code: 'Disable labels button if there is no RMA and the item is a repair MsgBox Me.lblmain.Caption If Me.lblmain.Caption = "Return/Repair Information" Then Me.txtRMA.SetFocus MsgBox Me.txtRMA.Text
[Code] ....
However, I cannot get this to work as the "if" statement always returns "Return/Repair information" and not the modified caption. The message box confirms that this is the case.
I suspect that this has to do with the point in time that the frmRepair loads or opens and when my code enters the modified values.
In code i have built a string variable called strRAG which is a combination of text "Me!lbl" and another variable called intSiteID, which forms for example label name Me!lbl51.
I have a form with loads of labels on it and what i want to do is use this string to set the BackColor of the label.
The code i use loops round building up different label names but i am have problems relating the strRAG detail to the form labels.
I have posted this question in VBA early this week but after looking at the wording i have tried to rephrase it.
I have a printed form that pulls some of its data from a table. What i need is that printed form to have a variable that two area in the form can change based on who is printing the form.I have a table that has all the users data in it. the current form pulls that information from the label and places it into the for. easy enough so far right.
for example. But i need this printed form to be able to be dynamic. So for instance Tom inst sitting that the computer wanting to print the form and so on for four different users who will print the form.So the button that allows the print either needs a way to have a selection or i need four different button. So the second part of this Mark Twain quits his job and Johnny takes his place. easy enough to change the data in the table that my form is pulling the data from but the button label needs to change to that the button.
Ok what I would like to do is have a switchboard with a number of command buttons on, each button opens to a form with a few fields within them.
Is it possible for the initial switchboard labels to be 'red', then as the related form is opened and populated the switchboard label turns 'amber' and once the form is complete the switchboard label is 'green'. See example piccie attached, to get a better understanding!
This is to enable multiple users to see at a glance the status of various jobs.
If anyone knows how I can go about this or suggest any alternatives, I'm open to suggestion.
I have several forms that each has a dozen or more checkboxes, true/false. I want to be able to change the background color of the label of each checkbox depending on if the checkbox is true or false. I have used the following code which works great:
If Me.A = True Then Me.lblA.BackColor = vbYellow Me.lblA.BackStyle = 1 Me.lblA.ForeColor = vbRed Else Me.lblA.BackColor = vbWhite Me.lblA.ForeColor = vbBlack End If
Me.A refers to T/F checkbox A and Me.lblA refers to its label. This is repeated for each of the checkbox controls. If the control is [B], then its label is lblB. I have used this in the form OnCurrent event and the checkbox control OnUpdate event. I was wondering if I could use the tag property to this, saving me writing countless lines of code and having the OnCurrent event of each of the forms so long and cumbersome. And I do know that I can use conditional formatting to do this, but I would prefer not to use that method. Is there any way to do this using the tag property and not so many lines of code?
I have a Menu form that has 5 cmdbuttons that opens the same main forms but with 5 different filters. I want a label or text box to change to the name of the filter. I am using VBA to open the form. I can't code a form that's not open yet. Is there any way to accomplished the above?
I've got a report that spits out a barcoded label for items on my inventory. What I'd like to know, is if there is a way in 2010 to allow the user to select where on the page for the label to print.
I found a way that looks like it worked for 2007, but it required enabling ADO, which I am not able to do on my work computer.
I am creating a form and I have some fields I don't want people being able to change so I selected to disable them in the datasheet but now the labels have a strange double text, it looks different than all the other labels and is driving me nuts. when I enable it the font on the label goes back to what the others are but once I change it to disabled it goes funky again. how do I fix this?
I'm using a label as a button so it looks nicer, but if I press it without officially exiting the last text field I was in, then that text field doesn't update, so the vba believes it's blank or whatever it was.
I could manually setfocus to a couple different fields or have a teeny field thats hard to see to set focus to, but these both seem roundabout.
I tried this code to change the label to display the full name of the state on the form. Is there a shorter way than putting 49 more states after the if?
[CODE]Private Sub cmdStates_Click() DoCmd.OpenForm "frmChurchesAll" DoCmd.ApplyFilter "qryFindState" lblTxtSt = txtState If txtState = "FL" Then lblTxtSt = "Florida" End If lblTxtSt.BackColor = 15658720 lblTxtSt.Visible = True lblStatesof.Visible = True lbAllChurches.Visible = False End Sub /CODE] D7
I have a form with up to 100 buttons generated based on a number of conditions. I am trying to pass the caption of a button to a sub so that I can open the correct forms. When a button is clicked how can I read it's caption. Me.caption is reading the form caption.
Select Case Err.Number Case 9999 ' Whatever number you anticipate. Resume Next ' Use this to just ignore the line. Case 999 Resume Exit_SomeName ' Use this to give up on the proc. Case Else ' Any unexpected error. Call LogError(Err.Number, Err.Description, "SomeName()") Resume Exit_SomeName End Select
And the error came out, Label Not Defined. I've checked with "help", and it stated that
"The label must be within the procedure that contains the reference. Line labels are visible only in their own procedures"
Is there any missing references in the library I should checked??
 i am using MS Access 2003 on WinXP. i have attached my sample database. when viewed in form view, notice that the form will flicker on mouse over. why is this happening? is there a solution to solve this annoying problem? please explain in details how i can solve this problem as i am new to access. thanx in advance :)
I had a subfrom with two combos and a label, -the user selects name or id from the combo and the label gets filled with information. -added a print this on the subform and I thought it worked but when I tested it it does not print the data, only a blank label and the two blank combo boxes...
I was wondering if there is an option to print the caption of a label, or if anyone knew how to fix the problem i have above.
I'm doing up an order database that uses a report to display orders that are faxed to the supplier.
When the report is first opened, it asks the user for the name of the supplier (to print at the top and specify which orders to display), the date (to also specify which orders to display), and the customer number (for the benefit of the supplier).
Now, there are two main suppliers for this business, other suppliers are used every now and then. Because of this, if one of these two main suppliers is entered as a parameter initially, the corresponding customer number I hard-code in should be displayed without having to ask the user for it. If, however, another supplier is entered, it should ask the user for the customer number.
This is all done in a label on the report. Currently, its control source is set to this: =IIf([Supplier]="supplier1","Customer #123456",(IIf([Supplier]="supplier2","Customer #987654","Customer #" & [Please enter customer number:]))) This works, but asks for the customer number regardless of the supplier I enter initially.
I'm looking for a way to do something similar to above, but it shouldn't ask for the customer number if I enter "supplier1" or "supplier2", it should use my hard-coded values. Any help would be much appreciated!
