Reports :: Display Multiple Attachment In Report?

Aug 11, 2014

I would like to ask about on how to display my attached pictures to my report. I'm using MS Access 2007 and I have a table names:

Projects - ProjectID, ProjectName, StartDate, EndDate;

Task - TaskID, ProjectID, TaskName, Pictures;

Picture datatype is Attachment and it is multi-valued field so I created a query to extract picture per ProjectID and to be used as a Subreport. Query results shown below:

ProjectID Attachment
11 tulip.jpg
11 hill.jpg
10 panda.jpg
10 shark.jpg

Now, I have created the sub report and linked it Project table. Result is the pictures add up vertically or downward where there is a big space on the right side, I want to have it from left to right or horizontally.

Forms :: Display Attachment Image Based On Combo Box Selection

Jul 13, 2013

I'm working on a wine database (for ages now...). I'm currently struggling getting the following to work. I have a form in which one can select the name and vintage of a wine using a combo box, after which also a picture will be shown of that wine. I have the pictures as attachments in a table. One can then press a button to close this form and go to another form in which one can edit all the details of the selected wine. Problem: I can't get the picture to show.

I have a reasonably simple form with a combo box, a text box, a button and an attachment field in which a picture should show.

I made a query to select the id, name and vintage from the wine table. I couldn't select the attachment field for the pic in the wizard, so I added that myself in the Design View. The Query for the combo box now reads:

Code:
SELECT Wijn.Id, Wijn.Naam, Wijn.Vintage, Wijn.Plaatje FROM Wijn ORDER BY Wijn.[Naam], Wijn.[Vintage];
(translation: Naam = name | Plaatje = picture)

It neatly shows name and vintage in the drop down list. Once selected it only shows the name of the wine in the combo box and I use VBA to fill the Text Box with the vintage of the selected wine. The VBA I use is:

Code:
Private Sub cmbNaamWijn_Change()
Me.txtVintage.Value = Me.cmbNaamWijn.Column(2)
End Sub

All works fine. Also when I pres the button, the wine I selected opens up and can be editted and the select form nicely closes. The only problem is the fact that I cannot get the picture to show!

I inserted an attachment field with the name: attImage. In the VBA code I added the line:

Code:
Me.attImage.Picture = Me.cmbNaamWijn.Column(3)

Doesn't work. With debugging I do see it gets the correct value form the table. I get an error message stating "Method or data member not found", so Picture is not available for the attachment object I guess. If I look at what is available, I can't select anything useful. So my next try was adding an image control with the name: ImageWine and the VBA code in the On Change property

Code:

Me.ImageWine.Picture = Me.cmbNaamWijn.Column(3)

results in the following: Run-time error '2220'. Microsoft Access can't open the file '[FilenamePicture]'. Logical in a way I guess, since there's no path in there. I also tried the Bound Object Frame, but that resulted in the same problem as the attachment try described above.

Modules & VBA :: Email Hyperlink / Attachment To Open Access File?

May 15, 2015

I have created an action log database that sends an email when a new action is entered. I would like to launch the database using a hyperlink in the email, but can't seem to get it to work. All users have a copy of the front end on their desktop, so whatever I add to the email needs to launch the front end for any user signed on to their own desktop.

This is what I have and it sends a hyperlink but I click it, I get an error saying it can't find the file. I don't know how to word the path name for any user?

With obMsg
.subject = "New action request for " & team
.To = people

Forms :: Filtering Records Which Form Will Initially Display From Header File

May 30, 2015

I have a header/detail form working well. I use a Dsum to update a TOTAL field in the header - based on all the detail records for that Header.

However, I want to 'filter' or condition the records which the form will initially display from the Header file. I have a conditioning field (Invoice date) in the header which should 'block' it from display on the form. I may also desire to SORT the selected Headers record into a different sequence before display...

Looks like any "filtering" I try on the header table makes it difficult to go back and update the TOTAL in the Header?

Display File Name Of Backend Mdb - How?

Sep 2, 2005

Quite often I'll make a "training" version of the backend database so that people can "play" (or should I say get training) on dummy data without them having to worry about ruining the live data.

If my real data is in a file called RealData.mdb and my dummy data is in a file called TrainingData.mdb, I want to display this name prominently on my menu form. Thus they can then change the link on the front end to the real or dummy data as required BUT have a reminder as to which they're on.

How can I do this? Further rather than using the file name, could I use one of the database properties (say Title) to display a more friendly text name?

thanks,

Simon

Send Email Attachment Located In A Table From A Form?

Apr 9, 2014

I have Access 2007. I have a form where I can attach PDFs, Word documents, etc with an command button. This atachment is then put into a field in a table which has the email address and works fine.

The attachments are there in the field with the paper clip in the field title.I have a command button with an embedded macro that opens OUTLOOK and the email form with the email address and all the other information inserted perfectly. How do I get the OUTLOOK email to grab the assoiated attachment(s) from the record in the table and send them with the email? I can send the email without the attachment just fine.

The attachments cannot be located in a common path. They must be in the field in the associated record and each attachement will be different from one record to the next.

The emails are sent one by one, not as part of a group.

The form name is TASK DETAILS.

The email command buttin is called E-mail

The table is called TASKS

The attachment command buttin is called Attachments

What do I need to do this?

General :: Send Email Attachment Using Form Data Using Automation

Jun 20, 2013

I am currently using SendObj method to send an Outlook email and selected report as an attachment using the current form's data. This is triggered by a button click.

This is working well apart from having to use 'ClickYes' to outwit the Outlook 2012 security system.

However I now need to selectively send an extra pdf file with some of the emails based on a Yes/No field on the form. This is a fixed file on my local C drive.

I think I have to use automation to do that but I can't find a method of specifying the report I currently use in the SendObj method in the .Add.Attachment line.

Do I need to run the report and then save it so that I can specify the path and name in the .Add.attachment line followed by code which will delete the file? or is there a means of combining the code I currently use in SendObj to create the pdf object with automation option?

I have working code for both attachments at present but they send separate emails and I would prefer to combine them if possible.
