I have many records in 1 form, is it possible for me to display running number on that form? I can display running number in report by putting textbox and set its control source to =1. Is it possible to do that in form?
any idea? thanx in advance..;)
I have a form with a select query running as record source. Once the input for the select query is entered the form runs. Then after that there are some manipulations in the form and it is displayed. In this second phase the form must be displayed without running the same query again. How can I do this?

I have a database of properties for sale. I want to calculate the asking prices of each record (for sale) against the sold prices of all the houses in the same area. Area is defined as a numeric number, and each property has one assigned to it. My question is this-
I have a table of all the properties. Do I run the query and store the results in a specific cell in the table- and then use a form to display those results? Or do I run the query from a form and not store the calculated results at all? I will be adding/updating info on a daily basis, so these calculation results will also change daily. Obviously I am fairly new to Access and trying to figure out how to do this stuff. Using Access 2002. Either way, I assume i'll be using a form to display the results one way or another...

I've been searching all the forums and unable to find my answer. What I want to do is show on a form the average quote for the specific model number.
On the form there is customer info, product info, etc. I want to see the average of what we have quoted every other time we have seen this product (we do repairs). The identifer for the product is the model number, Model#, the quoted cost is PRICE. I've used this function before, DAvg("[Price]","Repairs","[Model#]='013003020'") - which of course gives me the average for one specific model number (013003020). How would I use a similar function but have it do the average for the model number that I am viewing on the form?
If I am able to do that - I also need to find a way to not include nulls and zeros from the Price field.
On my "timesheet" for my volunteer database, I have a textbox called HoursRemaining. It's control source is =[HoursRequired]-[HoursCompleted]
That works great. Occationally however, the volunteer will complete more hours than required. Instead of displaying a negative number, I would like HoursRemaining to display 0.
Can this be done?

Each entry needs to have a "Event ID" associated with it and these Event IDs may be used more than once but will refer to the same Event (if it was a single entry with no duplicates, I would just use the rows primary key). How to create a query that looks at a list of existing numbers (Events already in the table) and returns the next/an unused number? I would like to create a button that says "Next available Event ID" and provides the user with a number.

hey guys i have the following line in my query for removing seconds from a time/date stamp and all works great except one thing if the time is 10:02 it is showing as 10:2 anyway of getting it showing correctly?

While doing a rabbit DB for the missus I have hit a problem, if one of the does gives birth to 3 babies i wish to have the details entered onto a form (not a problem) but i would like to do this:
if number of babies = 3 then fields to display to enter details is 3 on the form, i have my table setup with up to 10 seperate field for the babies per record but am stuck trying to do this

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have loads of projects in a table, they all have a status (eg Red, Green, Amber).
I have a query for each so if you run qry_RagRed, it will show in a sheet all Red projects and obviously have a total in there.
So I have a form which has buttons on it for navigation, what I want is to display various things on there so for example, a field that simply has the number of red projects, or green etc.
All I want it to do is tell me a number based upon number of items in a query.
I can't display a 17 digit number in my table without losing the last couple of digits to 'rounding'. I've tried 'doubling' the field size but to no avail....whatever I attempt loses the last couple of digits to a 'nice round figure'.....
The numbers had initially been imported as text...which is really what they ought to be as they're identification numbers, but I had some issues using the find 'duplicate values' query and conjectured that was because the ID numbers had been defined as text---->though I could be wrong.
The VAL function works (to convert the text to numbers) but again -- I lose the detail of the last couple of digits.
I've been beating my head against this wall the entire day and at the very least, would like to know if what I'm attempting is viable. I've stumbled through function queries (with some success) and react like a deer in the headlights when it comes to VBA....
I'm trying to change a 1,2,3 in a table to display NA, Yes, No on a form.
I have an Infopath form with a n/a,yes,no drop down that is dumped into Access. Infopath requires a value be tied to them so it is 1,2,3. So in Access, my table shows the numbers and not the text. I would like to know how to get my access forms to show the text instead. Not sure if I should be setting the field criteria in my query to say if this field is a 1 make it Yes, if 2 make it NO, if 3, make it NA. Or if there is something completely different to do.
I found a workaround by going into the query and using Find and Replace but I need this to update itself automatically.

I have an access form that displays some data about customers and their booking for flight. so lets say if there is a group of five people that made a booking for a certain flight, i have to assign ticket numbers to them and store it in some table.
Now i can display the number of people in a group for a certain flight in a subform, i want to have another textbox in front of their names so i can type in the ticket numbers. So i went to design view and added another textbox, but the problem is if the subform in displaying 5 rows (for 5 customers) when i type in a ticket number for one customer, all the following rows gets and displays the same ticket number. How can i type something and let it not be repeated infollowing rows.
I am trying to create a calculated field in my table, I am trying to use the following code:
DatePart("ww",[Gas]![Date Opened])
I receive the following error message: "The expression DatePart("ww",[Gas]![Date Opened]) cannot be used in a calculated column."
Access 2007 - I really need to be able to display the week number in the table, based on the Date Opened field.
Is it possible to only display a specific number of records with multiple filters of the same field.

Can a user basically search for multiple records based off of their names? Maybe by using a form where they can input those names like this:

I'm creating a database for a music store which also does music lessons. In the header I wish to display the number of lessons that are taking place each day, the number will be dynamic as the number of lessons vary from day to day. I obviously have a table with all the lessons that have already taken place, as well as lessons that are taking place in the future.
I've attached the header (isn't the final version) as an example.
