I have a form that I would like to embed some text that is queried from the internet. I'd like to have a part of this form display this "quote of the day" info in a textbox, and im not sure how to do it.
The link to access the quote is through javascript:
<script language="JavaScript" src="http://www.quoteworld.org/quotes.js"></script>
I have some code to create a table of contents/index for a report which has "chapters" which can be added or dropped depending on whether we choose to stock something or not. And I'm getting the strangest issue. The very first "chapter" starts fine on Page 1. But the next item we sell (Chap 2), then starts on Page 3, instead of Page 2. Here's what's strange. Every other item is then one page off. Below is my code.
Code: Option Compare Database Dim db As Database Dim TocTable As Recordset Dim intPageCounter As Integer Function InitToc() 'Called from the OnOpen property of the report.
[Code] ....
The InitToc fx is called upon the opening of the pricebook, the UpdateToc fx is called upon printing. There's something in here where I think I'm calling the functions incorrectly, but I'm not sure quite what the error is.
I created a report that would generate, among others, a listbox on monthly payments. How do I make it spill-over to the next page when its contents have already exceeded that of a single paper?
This is a new area for me and I am struggling with how to approach the solution. Have searched the archives but still can't figure it out....
I have a database that stores call center coaching events. I would like to insert a wav file (recorded conversation) into each record and be able to play the wav file when the record is current in the form.
Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I made a db with tons of forms and they all have pictures on. I want to know if there is a quick way to embed them all so I don't have to go in the settings of every picture and do it manually!
I have a form with a lot of data structured in tabs. Since the tab loads all the data at once while the navigation form browses to the desired form. I have tried but the issue is the Master-Child link. The form in the navigation form is not considered as a subform, hence, no way to set a Master-Child link. The navigation form itself is the subform but even when setting up a link there it has no influence on the form displayed by the navigation form.
I am new to ACCESS, I have some experience with SQL, VBA and RDBD having been trained by ORACLE
The attached tables come from a RB I am making, I can run the SQL and it works, I have failed to create form or report tha enables users to simple use a button to invoke that code.
Several people have sent answers but I have not made them work, the tutorials that I have looked do not explain with simple examples that I can follow.
I need to be able to embed an interactive word document in an access form. The need is to put in text that has underlines and strikethroughs to indicate name changes to policies.
The user creates a new proposed update by designating the policy number but I need a word file attached to this update that can show more punctuation than access can show.
Of course I want to make this as automated as possible so the user doesn't have to work in two different places to get this done.
I have one-page forms which print a second page, blank except for a block of grey shading at the top. I have tried moving the content of the form up but that doesn't eliminate the second page. If I look at print preview, every second page of the entire database shows up as blank, regardless of where that happens to appear in the record.
to automatically create a second, third, fourth... page depending on how many characters are in the narrative. The only other thing needed to be changed is the page# of Page#.
I have added the Allen Browne Calendar 2k control to my form.
My form consists of 4 pages. On pages 2 and 3 I have subforms and on page 4 I have Personal data. Page 1 is general data and the Calendar is on Page 1.
What is happening is that the Calendar is also being displayed on my 4th page, in the same position as page 1. When I try to move it, cover it or delete it from page 4, it is also gone from page 1.
I have a form with six tabbed pages on it. Since data entry follows in a logical order I would like to put a command button on the bottom of each page (subform) that can be used to go to the next page. What I am going to though? If i put a command button (open form) then it opens the whole form not as a subform on a tabbed page. if I try and put a command button (open page) then it will not let me enter the page number. Hope that makes sense! Any ideas
I was curious if there is a way to embed images into a database, so that if I emailed it to someone, the images would still be able to open. I tried using a table and adding attachments, but that doesn't seem to work very well.
I'm a new Access user and i couldn't figured out how to implement the following:
- I've got a form with buttons on it. These buttons refer to different querries which either displays or changes specific data on the predefined table.
- With a text box (or another thing) I want the user to enter a table name, so that the querries gain portability to work table-independent.
Briefly this is what i want;
-- User should enter a text -- This text should be used to change the TABLENAME in each of the querry
But I don't know how :(
Is there anyone who has time to explain this implementation in detail??
I have 12 folders (User1 - User12) located in "c:users..." When I select a UserName from a combo box in a form e.g. User3 , a list of all files with extensions ".doc" in the respective directory (c:usersuser3*.doc) should render with a hyperlink to the file / s.
I have tried variouse "Select Case" and "FileSearch, FoundFiles" scripts, to no avail.
How can I get access to hide certain fields or controls on a form if a certain field has no data?
Allow me to explain further:
I have a form that displays data = frmPlantMain and a associated image = Image1 The image is stored outside of the db as a jpeg and the field in the record source table (Image1) contains a link to the image. For example: C:databasePicture1.jpg
There is also a hidden text box that contains the message "No Image available" = lbl_NoPix This would be displayed in place of the image if no image has been inserted.
I also have a seperate "insert new image" command button = cmdInsertPic
If the current record has a image then I want to have the controls Image1,lbl_NoPix & cmdInsertPic hidden. This seems fairly easy but it gets more complicated now.
If there is no image I would like these controls visable so that the user can add a new image. I would then need the record to be requiried or refreshed to reflect the fact that a new image has been added.
This is where I fall down - I do not know how to tell access to look at the field in the table (Image1) and if there is no linked or associated image then set the visable propertys of controls a,b & c on the form to true.
I hope I have explained my problem correctly and I thank you for your time in advance.
I seem to be having an issue with a split form I've been working on. I created this split form on Monday and it was working just fine but today, I have added a couple minor text boxes. Since then, I can view the form contents in Design View but when I switch to "Form View" or "Layout View", it's all gone minus the logo in the top left corner and the title for the split form.
I have a field on a form that is the results of a dlookup to a table.field. I want the value to be updated when I execute a button that is running a macro. How do I do this automatically, and not have to hit the refresh button?
I am trying loop through a datasheet so that I can copy the contents of one field into another form.
I have tried using the bellow code to do this on a button click event. However when i run it I get an error telling me that the object doesn't support this property or method. Im not quite sure what this means.
Dim rst As DAO.Recordset Set rst = Forms![Roll Out - Site Form]![Roll Out - Sign items pick list].RecordsetClone Do Until rst.EOF [Roll Out - Sign items added].Form![Code] = [Roll Out - Sign items pick list].[Form]![Item Category]
I have a report which includes several subreports. There will be times when a subreport prints partially on one page and completes on the next. I don't always want to break to a new page with this subreport. However, I would want to break to a new page if the subreport cannot fully print on the current page.
I have a report that lists states and cities within the states. When a state name happens to be at the end of the page the individual cities appear on the next page with no State heading. I solved the second page problem by setting the "repeatSection = Yes" in the Section Header (though I haven't shown that in the example below).
But the previous page (which just shows the State Name and no cities looks dumb. Is there some sort of solution.?? (Actually I would also like any State that continues to a next page to not just have the state name but something like " Colorado (Continued)" Is there anything I can do in VB to make a page break if the section is going to print but therer isn't enough room for one detail line?
This is what I currently see
Alaska Ancorage Prudo Bay
California Whittier Anaheim
Colorado ------------------------Page Break --------------------------------- Denver Pueblo Colorado Springs
If I have a report and it has controls (labels representing column titles) in the page header. Now when I print the report - if it happens that the last page has no detail records - but there is text boxes and so forth in the report footer. Is there a way to not display the page header on the last page?
I have a report where the last page shows the page header - and the field/column labels on the page header - but for which there is no detail records left to display - on the last page. There is report footer information that should display. It just looks weird because the field/column labels show at the top of the page - but there is no data remaining to print under them on that last page.
I have a data access page needs a filter by a dropdownlist, the dropdownlist used is a html control and I use javascript to filter the data programmaticlly in the onchanged event of the control.
MSODSC.DataPages(0).Recordset.Filter="AppID = 3";
My problem is, when this statement runs, the page refreshes. But I don't need the page refreshes, it set the dropdownlist text to the default text, not the value user select. The browser is IE7.
