How To Find Record On Form Based On Multiple Queries

I currently have a form to manage inventory. On the left side of the form, I have a list box that shows all of the items in the database and finds the record on the form based on the selection.

I would like to have toggle boxes or something underneath the list box that when clicked will sort the box by vendor and item and another that when clicked will sort the list by part number and then select the record on the form based on the selection at that time.

I have no idea how to accomplish this...can anyone help?

I want combo box to get values from another table or query. I will type in the values I want

I want the third option...

Find a record on my form based on the value I selected in my combo box.

Why am I not getting the third option??

Find Record In Main Form Based On Selection In Subform

Can someone tell me how I migh find a record in a main form based a a selection in my subform?

I have a Main form called frm_ProductionSchedule.

It contains three subforms:
frm_ProductionSchedule_subform
frm_ProductionSchedule2_subform
frm_ProductionSchedule3_subform


I would like to be able to select a record within any of the subforms and have the main form display it. The main form is linked to a SQL server Table. The subform are based on queries. The unique PK field is a date field called record_date.

I should add that the Link Child/Master fields are blank for all Subforms. Each Subform is linked to a query and displays data for a particular machine (1,2 or 3) AND is updated based on a combo selection of the Production week. The queries for one subform would look something like this:

I'm trying to find a subform record from a separate pop-up form based on its ContractID. When I click the button, I get the following error:

"A macro set to one of the current field's properties failed because of an error in a FindRecord action argument."

When I step through the code, it works just fine. Here is my code:

I have a form "frm_PatientNew" based on table "tbl_patients", this form contains a button "cmd_NewVisit" which is supposed to do the following: opens the form "frm_NewVisit" for recording a new visit for the last recorded patient in "tbl_Patients", I found many approaches depending on DMax and Dlookup and they worked fine just if "frm_NewVisit" is bound to "tbl_Patients", but "frm_NewVisit" is bound to "tbl_Main" which acts as a container for all information (patient data, visit data,service done and service provider), so the form "frm_NewVisit" contains fields from different tables. I wonder if I should create "frm_NewVisit" as unbound form, then adding fields from different tables to it and using vba to populate "tbl_Main",

Find Record Based On Combo Box

Hi

I have a search form with 1 combo box and a button which when the user inputs an invoice number and clicks the button, a main form is opened for that particular record.

The problem I have is to display an error message before the main form opens if the user has either left the combo box blank or they have input an invoice number that doesn't exist.

This feels like it should be easy......!

The invoicing is done based on quarters, and I want the users to be able to use a multiple items form, listing all of their clients, to create the invoices. How To Handle Multiple Null Values Using Form-based Parameter Queries

i'm creating a search form giving the end user a range of controls to use when filtering/searching data. See the image.But, i think my range search (using the textbox) to put in a lower and upper limit...is preventing this from working. In fact, when i put data into all the controls, no data pops up in my subform.

My query data source can also be seen...showing you how i've handled teh null entries. (i need to put in a null 'handler' for the two textboxes?)

Find The First Occurrence Of Multiple Record Entries

As my screen name implies, I am a new to Access and I’m seeking some input to resolve an issue. I have tried numerous queries, read MSDN forums and Access help w/o success. I hope someone would have some ideas.

See ATTACHMENT for screen shot of the following scenario:

Two tables in a one-to-many relationship. The parent table (tblAdmByWard) contains the autonumber primary key (PatientID) and additional fields that will not change while the child table (tblContStayEval) has a corresponding field (i.e. PatientID) to secure referential integrity PLUS additional fields as shown that are evaluated and updated daily. During the update the current date is entered (DateOfReview) along with additional info thus creating a new daily record in the child table.

I would like to query the child table (tblContStayEval) to find and return ONLY the first occurrence (DateOfReview) that the criteria (Variance) was selected…i.e.2/24/2008 as illustrated in the screen shot. This needs to occur for all (PatientID) records but exclude any subsequent and/or similar selections. By “similar” I mean the date will be different for each record in the child table while the data in the other associated fields may or may not be.

I hope I explained this okay as I’m not sure how to go about this. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.

I Have a forms which brings up a record in textboxes when you hit a search Button using a value that you type into a Textbox called BarTxt. My problem is that this value may not be unique. This may not even be possible, but I am looking to create a Query that can locate records in an Access Table based on 2 columns of data that I have stored in a CSV file.

My table contains several fields, 2 of which are "Dept" and "SKU" and has over a million records.

My CSV file contains 3 fields: "Dept", "SKU" and "Total" - total being the number of times that particular Dept/SKU combination is used.

I need to be able to parse the dept/sku values from each row in the CSV to the query and locate only the records that contain the same values in the Access table.

The plan being to delete out those that are identified by the query.

A script that I found that appeared to do what I needed it to do:

I have ASSET_TYPE, MANUFACTURER and MODEL tables.

I have a Table ASSET_COMBO that links to the above tables.

I have a form to create amend an ASSETS table. The form uses combo fields to filter the options available to the user. I.E the User Picks Manufacturer then selects from list of Asset Types provided by that Manufacturer, then selects from list of Models.

I want to create a form to allow create and amend records on the ASSET_COMBO Table.

The problem I have is that I want to ensure that there are no duplicates on ASSET_COMBO Table. I know that I can Select Multiple keys from the table with no duplicates allowed. But from what I have read this can cause problems. Is there a simple way that I can detect that a query on the ASSET_COMBO Table has returned a valid record or has not found a record.

I am trying to use a query to search 2 many to many relationships but i keep getting duplicate results because each record is slightly different.

I have a table with cameras, another users and another formats. I have a table linking cameras to users and another linking cameras to formats so it looks somthing like this:

tblCameras - tblFormatlink - tblFormats
tblcameras - tblUserslink - tblUsers

When i add all the tables into a query i get loads of results as expected because i get a result for every possible combination.

What i want is when i search for all cameras that are suitable for a user who is a beginner is to get just a list of unique cameras. When i do that search at the moment i get a duplicate record for each different format the camera can do.

I am trying to find the latest date in a table where the dates are in 2 separate columns and multiple rows. (there are business reasons why there are 2 dates per row they represent different but comparable activities)

I have a table "Assessment tracker" with the following structure

My Data:

I have a query "Candidate AC Dates" that compares the 2 dates EV1 and EV2 and outputs a 3rd column with the latest date.

Query:

It does this by using a function shamelessly copied from the web somewhere...

This is working well (I think)

I then want to find the latest date for the 2 records i.e. the Max value for the Achdate.

But this is returning

It looks to me like MAX is considering only the day value rather than the whole date. I suspect this is because it is considering the results of the function in the first query as a short text rather than a date field. (I've tried to force this through declaring the variables as dates but don't know where else to force this. (I am UK based hence the DD/MM/YYYY format)

I have 3 select queries which Im trying to output to a combo - Ive tried a UNION query but I get an error

ODBC-- call failed ODBC Driver SQLBase.....

Firstly is do the results need to match within a union query? I mean they have no relationship what so ever Im just trying to populate this combo with the same results.

Secondly is there a better way to do it? 2 of the select queries query a linked SQL table and the third is a local table. All of the select queries work on their own.

Excluding Multiple Records From Query Based On Value In ONE Record

Table1 gives Case Nu.

Table2 gives Case Nu. and EventType.

Table3 gives EventType and Cleared (yes/no field)

I want to run a query that gives Case Nu and Event where if there is even one event marked Cleared for a Case, then that case number and its events (even those not marked cleared) don't show up at all.

Any ideas? I know there must be an obvious solution, but my mind is stuck right now!
