Hi,
Trying to remember how to hide/disable buttons on a form based on the users security levl they have. :)
I have a form that has a listbox and a subform. The listbox lists names of events, start date and end date. The subform bellow reveals names of participants to the event that is clicked in the listbox. Against each participant's name is a button to delete the participant.How can I hide or disable the delete button if the start date of the event is past?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to have a button in a form that, when clicked, will time stamp a text box already formatted for time. But once the text box is filled with a time, the button then disables itself for that record.
If I switch to another record where the text box is empty, the button will enable itself without closing the form, but obviously re-disable itself if I go to a record the text box is filled.
I'm sure I could use conditional formatting for it, but I don't think I'm going about it the right way. I already got a basic button built to timestamp.
Apologies if this is an obvious one but is it possible to hide this:
"Record:1 out of 34" and the arrow buttons at the bottm of a form(s)?
I would rather use my own Next Record and Previous Record buttons so it would dieal to disable/hide these arrow buttons.
Many thanks for your assistance in advance,
Paul.
I need to disable or hide the restore, minimize and close window buttons found in the top right hand corner of a form.
I navigation buttons that controls open, close etc already set up.
I have created a simple login form that is based on User Name and Password.the table contains UserName, First Name, Last Name, Password and User Role(dev, admin...ect.)How can I change who can access different parts of the database?I want all the Development tools only accessable to People who have "dev" as a "User Role".Admin can only access the forms related to data entry and managers can view all forms but not the tables, querie and tools...ect.
View 3 Replies View Relatedis there a way to disable the new record option (>*) at the bottom of the form...i want my users to be able to search all records through the form sometimes, but not add any new ones accidentally (or intentionally) while doing so. :confused:
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy subform when i click the New record button on the subform i want it to disable a text box that is on the main form.
Me.Pensioners.Form!quicksearch.Enabled = False

Basically I want to put a code in the "on load" event of a form that enables or disables navigation buttons based on a value in a table (the table has 1 record and 1 column).
So if the value is "A", I want to hide navigation buttons on load; if it is "B", I want to show navigation buttons on load.
I know I can set this property in each form, but I have a number of forms that I want to configure at the same time.
My problem is that I don't know how to reference the value in the table.
I have an Undo button : [btnUndo] and would like it hidden until someone starts to enter data, where it will become visible...
what code would I use? and where would
Code:
me.btnUndo.visible = true
be triggered?
I have a table form (I want to have many records available in the screen)
I want to disable fields based on a value of another (main) field.
The fields are check boxes, so the automate formatting is not available.
I use the VBA code below:
Select Case name1
Case "POINT"
Me.sf1.Enabled = False:
Case "SIDE OUT"
Me.sf2.Enabled = False
Case Else
Me.sf3.Enabled = False
End Select
but the fields become disable to all records, not only to the records under the right condition. Why?
I would like to disable the Navigation Pane completely, based on the security level of the user that logs in, of course.
I have code that checks their level (I'm an "Admin" and everyone else is a "User"). If they are a user, then it hides the ribbon and minimizes the nav pane. If the login is mine, it enables everything.
That works, but the only problem is that the user can just maximize the Nav Pane on their own and access all the tables, and I don't want that. I can't find any code that completely disables the pane.
I have this code connected to my login button on my login form:
Code:
If Security = "User" Then
DoCmd.ShowToolbar "Ribbon", acToolbarNo
DoCmd.NavigateTo "acNavigationCategoryObjectType"
DoCmd.Minimize
Else
DoCmd.ShowToolbar "Ribbon", acToolbarYes
DoCmd.NavigateTo "acNavigationCategoryObjectType"
DoCmd.Maximize
End If
I can go to the options menu and disable the nav pane completely, so I know since only I have access to the ribbon, I could always go in each time and recheck the display nav pane option on that menu. But, that could be a little bit of a pain having to do that each time.
Also, I know I could finish the design and convert the DB to an MDE, but since my DB isn't broken up into a front/back end, I have to access that same DB everyone else uses, and if any changes need to be made, I don't want to have to use my backup, transfer over the changes any user made to the records, and then reconvert it back to an MDE each time.
If it's possible, I'd like to do all this using VBA. If they aren't an ADMIN user, then disable everything for them, but if I login, enable everything for me.
How do I hide or disable the File tab in Access 2010 on my front ends?
The file tab being present allows end user to get into Privacy Options and Printing. Printing is okay if I could disable the Privacy Options for end users, then it wouldn't matter if they have access to the File Tab.
Possible very serious security issue!
I am trying to lock records on a form and subform after a checkbox has been ticked, have used the code below from a previous post.
Private Sub Form_Current()
If Locked = -1 Then
Me.AllowEdits = False
Me.AllowAdditions = False
Me.AllowDeletions = False
[Code] .....
This is locking the Main form records is there a way to code this so that the fields on the subform are also locked when the checkbox is ticked?
I have created a form with 3 subforms on. i was just wondering is it possible to display/ hide these subforms based on a Yes/No field in the form. as the subforms would only be valid if the field is ticked as yes.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am not able to disable NavigationButton when i login navigation form using login form. I am using MS access 2007 - 2010.i am using below code but getting error.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically I have a Customer Form, which I have a New party button on it,this button opens up the party form to a new party, what I would like it to do is open up a new party but make the new party for the customer I had selected in the previous form.I have tried the GoTo macro's but cannot seem to get it to work.
I am thinking on clicking the button it will need to get the Customer ID, and then open the party form, create new party, and paste in the Customer ID, which then updates the Name - Date - Address - Company Fields.
I am not sure but this how it should work in VB, I am trying to disable a button that exists on a different form:
ACAudio!Command89.Enabled = False
Where ACAudio is the name of the form and Command89 is the name of the button but I keep getting an error saying object required.
I want to disable the button "cmdNew" unless certain criteria are met. Here is the code that runs in Form_Current :
Private Sub Form_Current()
Me.cmdNext.Enabled = (Me.RecordsetClone.RecordCount > Me.CurrentRecord)
Me.cmdPrevious.Enabled = Me.CurrentRecord > 1
Me.cmdLast.Enabled = (Me.RecordsetClone.RecordCount > Me.CurrentRecord)
Me.cmdFirst.Enabled = Me.CurrentRecord > 1
If (Me.cboStatus.Value = "Approved" Or Me.cboStatus.Value = "Approved as Noted" Or IsNull(Me.cboStatus) Or Me.RecordsetClone.RecordCount > Me.CurrentRecord) Then
Me.cmdNew.Enabled = False
Else
Me.cmdNew.Enabled = True
End If
End Sub
The navigation buttons work flawlessly but the cmdNew button still is enabled when it shouldn't be. THe idea is that is will be disabled if:
-current record is not the last record
-cbostatus is blank(null)
-cbostatus is "approved"
-cbostatus is "approved as noted"
The only code that seems to work is the "me.recordsetclone.recordcount > Me.currentrecord" .
Am I going about this the wrong way? How can I check what is in the cbostatus box and have the cmdnew button enabled/disabled based on its value.
Thank you
Hi all,
This has to be simple, but the solution eludes me.
I have a database that works really weel, but I need to do some tweaking to the toolbars to "grey out" the "sort ascending" and "sort descending" icons so that hte users do not mess with those and change how the recoerds display.
There has to be an easy way to disable those two buttons or an alternate way to ensure that the form basically ignores them.
Thanks

I have a command button which will work on a specified date of every year. After the user clicks it once (which will carry out calculations), I want this button to be disabled so that it is not available for second click. Is it possible?

Hello,
Is there a way I can disable the access close button, located at the top right of the screen?
Thanks.
I have a form which my company wanted that each single record should be printed from form. I made a print record button and put code to print single page or record. However as a natural habit people go to file > print to print which leads printing all records so 1000's records start printing. Is there any way i can hide print button. File >Print button.
