View RepliesHi,
Possibly a silly question.
The drop down triangle toggles from black to dark blue when a filter is on. I find the difference quite difficult to distinguish without giving my age away, screwing my face up and leaning into the monitor. :(
I would like to reformat the triangle to toggle to, say, bright red when the filter is on.
Can this be done?
Thanks in advance.
I have a field in a Contacts table called Referred By. I also have a separate table called Referred By which contains a numeric ID and a value for each Referrer. When I enter data into the Contacts table, I want the Referred By field to have a down arrow so that I can select the appropriate value. The Referred By table has 2 fields -- ID (AutoNumber) and Referred By (Long Text). There are currently 5 values in the Referred By Table.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a pop up form with a datasheet as a sub form. We use the up and down arrows to move between records. The problem is using the down arrow is 4 to 5 times slower than using the up arrow. This becomes a big problem when we hold down the arrow to move down 50 or more records. I believe it has something to do with the way the screen is repainted because in testing if I shrink the datasheet to show only 3 or 4 records the up and down movement is almost identical and matches the performance of the excel spreadsheet that this form was based on. Is there any fix for this?

I'm thinking of something like when you are typing something into an internet search engine, multiple content options appear below and you can either continue typing--thus narrowing the result--or use the arrow keys or mouse to select one of the content options that have appeared.Is there any function similar to this in Access?
I have a continuous form which has 1 field in which is a combo box which has a list of names. Once you select a name, the next record down is available for selection. When I get focus of a combo box I do an automatic dropdown but when I select an item from the list the dropdown doesn't close so it covers my other fields until I click randomly anywhere on the form. How can I get the dropdown to close as soon as I make my selection from the list?
Thanks
I have a combo box populated from a table containing names. Whomever processes the order selects their name from the combo box. Some entry persons have left the company but I cannot delete their names from the table as the orders are stored with their names and I want to maintain that history. Is there a way to hide their names from being displayed in the combo box?

Hi Guys,
I have a problem. I'm trying to import values to a Combo List from a table:
Row Source = SELECT Tasks.Milestones FROM Tasks;
where Task is a table and Milestones a field of that table. In this field (Milestones) there are repeated values, but I'd like to hide those duplicates when I want to chose them from the Combo List. I don't know If it is clear, if not it's because I'm not an Expert of Access :p
Thanks a lot for your attention,
Ciao
I have a form with a checkbox and a combo box. When I click the checkbox, I would like it to only show the specified records that are in the combo box. The current code I have is this:
Code:
Private Sub chkHideComplete_AfterUpdate()
On Error Resume Next
If Me.chkHideComplete = True Then
Me.filter = "[ReservationStatus] = 3"
Me.FilterOn = False
[Code] ....
I basically want to hide all records that have "1" in the combo box.
I'm using access 2007. I'm trying to get a combo box on a form to show or hide an image on a report based on the combo box's value. It seemed simple, but I've tried lots of codes.

Hi all,
I was wondering if it is possible to prevent the drop down list from displaying on a combo box, and even better, to hide the drop down button. I know this just sounds like using change to and changing the combo to a text. However, as the text box doesn't have the same properties, it won't display the correct information and explaining how the combo box get its information is a little complicated. If there isn't a way, I'll try to explain in a reply. :)
Cheers,
Matt
Hi all,
This is a simple question i think, but how do i enable my drop down menu to work for a combo box. I have a search query bound to a form and the combo box bound to a field of that query. At present my query just display the first record for any search result from my query on the combo box.
Thanks in advance,
M-.
As an example lets say I have a table listing some cars:
Car Make Car Model
Ford Fiesta
Ford Focus
Ford GT
Mercades C Class
Mercades E Class
Mercades A Class
I am making a form with two combo drop downs with the ability to select car make or model.
Car Model is Unique so if the car model is entered, I will force the car Make into the other combo box
however, If i select "Mercades" for example in the car make, I would like the combo box of Car model to only be filled with the possible models that Mercades make.
Is this possible? (to search for the values available in Car Model based on the value entered in Car Make?)
Hi,

Is this possible?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHi,
I have a SearchResult Form, it only display search results.
one of the field in this form is a LookUp field (Nationality).
and LookUp fields, as you know has this arrow next to them.
and since this form display only the results, i don't need this arrow. how can I remove it?
i tried using a text field, but it will only display the code of the nationality because the discription is in another field (that's why I used a lookup so I can select the discription in the Row Source) and text field dosn't have Row Source.
Please Help!
Thanks,

Is it possible to detect the Up or Down arrow keys?I've tried using the following in the Form's Key Press event;
Code:
MsgBox "You pressed the " & KeyAscii & " Key"
Which returns the ASCII code for most other key but not the arrow keys
When I select a row on a split form I would like the up and down arrow keys to move to the previous and next record. However this isn't happening.
When I select a row and press the down arrow nothing happens.
I have the navigation buttons set to no because of the issues I'm having with them.
How to get the up/down arrow keys to work on a split form??
I have a Combo Box bound which gets its values from a table (T_Users).
The Combo Box displays the Users 'Initials' [Column 1], but the Bound Column [Column 2] is that of the Users 'ID' (which is used when a record is edited or a new record added).
What I want to be able to do is when the user clicks the Combo Box, and the drop down list 'drops down' the options, I want them to not only see the 'Initials' but also selected other columns - BUT - when the option is selected I just want the 'Initials' to be displayed in the Combo Box.
Code:
So, Normal > | ABC |
Dropped Down > | ABC |
--------------------------------------------
| ABC (Annabel Carcus, Big Company Ltd.) |
| JB (Joe Bloggs, Medium Company Ltd.) |
| FS (Fred Smith, Little Company Ltd.) |
Select JB, and > | JB |
