How To Programmatically Disabled The Warning Messages In The Outlook 2003
Jul 19, 2007
when trying to automatically send email through MS Access application, the following message appears:
"a program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in Outlook and asking if you want to allow this"
"a program is trying to automatically send e-mail..."
How to disable these warning messages when executing MS Access application to send email?
I am using SendObject to send Outlook email messages from my application. On my development system, I get two Outlook warning messages each time I send an email. A user tested this on the live system today and said they got no Outlook warning messages.
Is this something that I can set? To not give Outlook warning messages?
I have developed a form and used code to disable the append messages Access displays the user such as: 'You are about to append data, do you want to continue'.
The form works great on my machine and I don't see the messages. When i use it on another machine the messages appear?? Please help.
I wrote VBA code to pull email messages from Outlook in order to create an alert if a message with a specific subject line is not received. I have the system coded to send the alert if the message isn't found before the system encounters a message with a SentOn date/time more than two hours old.
The code has worked great for over a year, but now my company is migrating to Win8 and I'm having issues with the code. The machine that normally runs the process uses XP and Access 2007. The code also works on another machine running Windows 7 and Access 2010.
The issue I'm having in Win8, with Access 2010, is that the code isn't pulling the most recent message first. Instead, it is selecting a message from about two weeks ago, and then cycling through the other messages from that point. I know there are ways I can code around this, but I don't want to if I don't have to.
Is there a setting that I'm missing? I've included the basic code to pull the email messages below:
Code: DoCmd.SetWarnings False Dim ol As Outlook.Application Dim ns As Namespace Dim Inbox As MAPIFolder Dim Item As Object Dim strSubject, strSentDate As String
Every time I open a database, no matter than I've opened it before, it asks opening blalala.mbd maybe harmful to your computer. Is there some way to stop that message? I went searching around in tools customize and nothing.
I have read through the various posting regarding ACCESS 2003 security warnings. As like everyone else, I receive a security warning stating, “This file may not be safe if it contains code that was intended to harm your computer.” I have already installed Microsoft Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 and I have already enabled sandbox mode. This warning still appears when I try to open databases sent to me by other people. It also appears when I try to create a new database from my own computer. I understand why this message may appear when I open other peoples’ databases, but why would this error message appear on my own computer after I create a database from the very same computer? I would like to market my databases to specific clients, but I need to eliminate the security warnings that would appear each time they opened my databases from their computers. I don’t want to suggest that people change their security levels to low in order to open my database. For this reason, I am considering the option of digitally signing my databases with an authenticated signature. As something like this would run anywhere up to about $400.00, I want to make sure that it would be the best, and correct, option for me. My ultimate question: If I am already trying to create databases from my own computer and receive this warning message, would a digital certificate work in eliminating the error message for my future clients? Also, I understand that I may use the signatures for up to a year. Would I be able to use this for multiple databases that I create as long as it’s within that one year, or would I only be able to sign one specific database and use that same database for the entire year? This is a bit of a pricey endeavor for me, so if there are any other options, I’d love to hear those, too. Thank for the help in advance!
Am using the standard files ACCESSRT.MSI and ACCESSRT.CAB to install Runtime.
Does anybody know a QUICK way of supressing the annoying security messages which pop up, when the application starts under this configuration?
I don't want to write any fancy install wizards or scripts, just need a basic runtime install like the above method, but with "Low" Macro security set.
I am running a database in Access 2000. My code for creating an Outlook message from Access was running perfectly until my company switched us to Outlook 2003. Has anyone had a similar experience? Were you able to fix it?
I have a form with a email field containing a email address, I would like when clicking on it this will open OUTLOOK 2003 placing the email address on the "TO" field I have looked around but I have not find what I need, I had a VBA code but this will open me a web page instead of OUTLOOK. Can I get some help! Thanks M.
I'm using an unbound text box and a command button to filter a list of contacts on a continuous form. The continuous form has a query for the record source and the list ends up showing only what is in the strWhere filter
Me.Filter = strWhere Me.FilterOn = True
Is there a way to have Access 2003 take this filtered list and populate the To: field in Outlook or whatever the default mail client is? Each email needs to be deliminated by ";"
how to change Access default error messages with custom messages? Like, if I enter some data in a sub form where the parent form is empty new record, default error message says that 'You must enter a value in the 'column name' field'.
I want to disable this default message and display my own error message. Now I know MessageBox and MsgBox fuctions to display custom messages, but how to disable the default message.
I'm using an MS Access 2007 command to open Outlook. I can get it to open, fill in address, subject, and text, but what I haven't been able to conquer is to get it to send without a mouse click on the send button within Outlook.
I want the email to fill in and send without any human interaction at all.
I have this filename.mdb file which was given to me for revision, so I opened it with MS access but once I opened it, the toolbars are disabled so I can't switch to form view, design view etc. How can I resolve this? I remember when I once did VBA Access that you can do this 'disable' thing. Only that I forgot it how now. So if anyone could please help me in this? I need to 'have those toolbars back' so I can start editing the file. Please do help me.
I have created a log in form in my database and users will enter their name using a combo. Is there a way I can force them to use the mouse and select their name and not type in the data? Basically something that will disables all keys from the keyboard? Thanks.
Is there a way to create an import specification automatically, such as via vba? I'm trying to create a form that will allow a user to import a list of fields that could appear on a table. This field can change though depending on what kind of list they are trying to import. Does anyone know a way?
I need to know how to change the Access variable names programmatically.
I have a large Access database, with hundreds of variables that need to be shortened to 8 characters since they are to be imported into a SIR database, which does not allow variable names longer than 8 characters.
Because the variables have to be unique and yet still identifiable, I have to write code that will do abreviations. For instance:
hello! i'm trying to select more than one value in a listbox based on a comma-seperated string in a textbox. it seems to be doing what it's supposed to do, except it's only selecting the last value it loops through. it doesn't seem to remember the others. there's probably an easier way to do this than how i did it, but here is the code:
Code:Dim lst As ListBoxDim lngCount As LongDim strSelection As StringDim strNewSelection As StringDim intLen As IntegerDim lngLen As LongstrNewSelection = ""strSelection = Me.Text19.ValueWhile InStr(1, strSelection, ",") <> 0strSelection = Trim(strSelection)lngLen = Len(strSelection)intLen = InStr(1, strSelection, ",")strNewSelection = Left(strSelection, intLen - 1)Set lst = Me!List0lst.RowSource = lst.RowSourceFor lngCount = 0 To lst.ListCount - 1 If lst.Column(0, lngCount) = strNewSelection Then lst.Selected(lngCount) = True Exit For End IfNext lngCount strSelection = Right(strSelection, lngLen - intLen)Wend
Using Access 2000, I have an BeforeInsert event to set a value in a field by referencing the form/subform/fieldname. When the user enters a new record simpy by arrowing down the subform, this value IS entered but NOT displayed until the record is saved.
How do I get the programmatically stored value to display on the proper field box WHILE the user is entering the other fields?
I assume the NEW record is a buffer (not in the database yet), so perhaps I need to reference the new record buffer so it displays on screen. How do I reference that?
The # character in a hyperlink is used to separate hyperlink parts. Here is a case when I do NOT want this character to do the separation: a network file where the # character is part of the filename: k:datasomeFile#ref02.doc.
How can I put this URL into a hyperlink field in a table and NOT have Access treat it like this: Address: k:datasomeFile Subaddress: ref02.doc which then of course results in the usual "Unable to open..." error.
(I tried replacing the # with %023 but when Access seems to convert it automatically to #).
I'm creating an Access form and there are three sections to the form of which the user should only fill out one. So, they are controlled by a radio group and the desired action is as follows:
There is a default choice (by far, the most common) and it will be selected when the form is opened. When the user selects one of the radio options, the section controlled by that radio option will become enabled and the other two sections will become disabled/locked.
So I found that each box (textbox, combobox, etc) has the property enabled and locked. So I just set this accordingly depending on what is selected. The actual result is that the boxes will be grayed out and become disabled, but will never become enabled again.
Here's some abbreviated code:
Private Sub accountRequestType_AfterUpdate() If Me.accountRequestType.Value = 1 Then enableSection1 disableSection2 disableSection3 ElseIf Me.accountRequestType.Value = 2 Then disableSection1 enableSection2 disableSection3 ElseIf Me.accountRequestType.Value = 3 Then disableSection1 disableSection2 enableSection3 End If End Sub
So an example of a disable function (which seems to work) is as follows:
Sub disableSection1() Me.text123.Enabled = No Me.text123.Locked = Yes End Sub
And for an enable function (which doesn't seem to work):
Sub enableSection1() Me.text123.Enabled = Yes Me.text123.Locked = No End Sub
So I'm a bit lost here, any ideas would be great. Are there different steps I need to take in order to enable them again? Am I being clear?
How can you disabled a click event on a text box ? I don't want to use ENABLE = false because the background of the texte box comes gray. So, any alternative solution?
I have an mdb file that is being used in Access 2013. The menu appears in the Add Ins as it is supposed to and it works for the most part. For some reason, it remains visible but is not clickable/operable after I do the following code. This all works flawlessly in earlier version of Access so it must something peculiar to 2013 (no surprise there....). hat would cause the ribbon to stop working, what to do when it does, and best of all, how to prevent it from occurring in the first place?
This code is for an option box that either prints a report or creates a pdf and then sends the report as and attachment to a CDO generated email. Other than it (seemingly) turns off the menu..THe site won't allow me to post links so the code is an attached txt file
I want to progammatically align the report controls position. I have a control with left=2.7 in the Design view property. I want to set programmatically set this value to 3.0 or other value accoring to a parameters. The problem is that when I set this property at the event Report-Open, the control appears always in another position regardless of the left value, i.e appears always at the new constant position.
