Apr 16, 2014I am using asp and database to store info for example link addresses. Unfortunately, they have become stored in database column with a # on either side. I have tried find and replace but this does not work on # symbol. It can not be stored as a hyperlink because I need my website to extract info from remote database and then display info in results page as a hyperlink. Works fine if I remove them by hand but there are 3000 of them!

Using Boolean 'and' To Update A Table Based On Values In A Link Table
Feb 24, 2008The attached Access XP file demonstrates my problem. I've included a form to make testing easier.
Each record in the Projects table has one or more linked entries in the Keywordlink table, showing keywords that apply to that record. Each record in Projects has a Yes/No 'Utility' field.
A third table, Keywords, supplies the keywords that the user can apply to records in Projects, using the subform on the main form. The Keywords table also includes a True/False 'Utility' field. I have set this to True for for the first three keywords.
I need a query, a series of queries or some VB code that updates Projects_Utility for all records to True if and only if the record's linked entries in Keywordlink include all of the keywords for which Keywords_Utility is True (a boolean 'and', as opposed to an 'or'). Otherwise, Projects_Utility must be set to False.
In the attached file, with the current settings in the Keyword table, the 'GetSelectedProjects' query should then produce single-row listings for ClientA and ClientF.
I'd appreciate any help you can give me on this. I'm not a programmer, but I can manage a bit of VB code if I have to.
Tables :: Two Fields In A Table / Link To Same Lookup Table
Mar 14, 2013I have a table "Product" and in this table I have two fields "StoragePlaceID1" and "StoragePlaceID2". Both these fields link to the look-up table "StoragePlace"

When I want to add a new Product from my inter face i get the error you can see in the Attached Image "Save_Error".I think the problem is that the Relationship is defined as One-to-Many,there a way to define the relationship as Zero-to-Many.
Need To Remove Spaces From Field In Table
Sep 28, 2006I have a table that for some reason when I imported the data, placed some spaces before about 75% of the numbers in only one column. I need these numbers to be exactly the same as in another table because I use this number to compare to records and import other data depending on the corresponding numbers.
I tried doing a find and replace, but for some reason it doesn't find the spaces to replace. If I type in the space and the number, then in the replace with type only the number, it works. But I cannot do that since there are literally 10's of thousands of different numbers.
Someone mentioned a "LTRIM" command. Does this work within Access and if so, how does it work?

Remove Sorting From Lookup Table?
Aug 16, 2012I do not want the look up table for my combo box to sort the data so that the drop down will show the data the the order I enter it. The table automatically sorts the data even with the Remove Sort feature. I added another column with numbers and sorted it to put my data in order which works in the table but the drop down still sorts it alphabetically which I assume is because my number column is not the bound column.

The problem is some of the fields contain quotation marks which really messes things up for me later on.

I'm using a query to export a table to a text file, i.e.
SELECT * INTO [Text;HDR=No;Database=C:].[test#txt]
FROM [TestTbl]
Text fields end up surrounded by double quotes as a text qualifier. Is there a property I can use to get rid of the text qualifier within the SQL (similar to how HDR=No gets rid of the headers)?
I've tried searching and guessing, but nothing has worked yet. Thanks!

Jun 11, 2013I have a table called Stock Levels which contains 3 fields. (ID, ProductID, StockLevel) ID is the Pkey, ProductID contains duplicates and StockLevel which contains different stock levels
and I am trying to remove the duplicates and retain the the data so I am left with the correct stock number
what I have done is the following, but I am still getting duplicate values in productid and stocklevels
SELECT DISTINCTROW id, productid, stocklevel into mynewtable from stocklevels

There are over 200 Tables that need changing. I would like to update the Table names replacing every "space" with an underscore"_". AT the same time I would also need to Update all of the QUERIES that use these particular Tables to be updated to reflect these changes made and still work as normal. I can do this manually but it will be very time consuming and perhaps someone has already had to do this when recently upgrading to Access 2013?

The Master table keeps a log of all incoming records. (once append it to this table, should not show in future reporting)
The Daily feed information within the last 48 hours. (uploaded from an excel report into access temporary table)
When the daily feed table gets completed, I append the records and updated them into the Master to avoid duplication.
When I upload the daily feed table and I match it against the Master table to find duplicates, how can I delete the duplicates from the Daily Feed table?

Nov 8, 2014This application has worked fine in the past, but now I find it stops cold saying a particular linked table is read-only. I've looked around and all I can find in the various forums is how to MAKE a table read-only. Reversing that process seems very difficult.
The application is a copy of another that now exhibits the same problem. Each uses a different data mdb - part of the development I'm doing involves changing a different table. I'm developing changes to the application in this separate copy.
I can't tell if other tables would have this problem - the table in question is the very first used (initialization routine) and I can't get past it without deactivating a bunch of code.

In the mdb that i attached there have 3 table - tblMaster, tblConfiguration1 and tblConfiguration2.
Using the relationship to link tblMaster's field Configuration to other 2 table Configuration field but there only showing 1 table data.
Is it allow in tblMaster able to show this 2 table together??
