Howto Make Combobox Selections Appear In Ascending Order

Hello friends,
Please can anyone tell me how i can make the selections in my combo box (combo is bound to column1 of a table) appear in ascending order, by name (column2).
I.e. It's bound by column 1 (with is the Id#), but i want it to appear in ascending by column 2 (Usernames) to make selections easier. Please help :)

Jumping Of Autonumber In A Non Ascending Order

Hello,

I have a simple invoice database with a primary key in the main table (with autonumber as invoice no.) and a subform with the item details which is without a primary key with the data type as numbers. In addition, I had the tables linked as one to many relationship. What happen is that when I am entering the data, the number jumps . For eg: It was suppose to be 7123 but the next entry was 7150. Pls kindly advice.

Ascending E Descending Order Of A Table.

Happy new year everyone.

I have a table in which the data input comes from a dropdown list selected in a form combo box as:

contract signed
PIN issued
PDD issued
validation finished
Host country approval
EB approved
CER's issued.

I am designing a report in which I want to display the above list in Ascending or Descending order but as shown rather than alphabetically.
What I mean is no matter how the information is on the table the report showd display it in Ascending as contract signed, PIN issued, etc and in Descending as CER's issued, EB approved, Host country approval , etc.

Any ideas?

Book Collection Database - How To Sort Columns In Ascending Order

My question is simple: I've got a database of my book collection. If i view it in a style sheet, it is something like

Author Title etc.

A 0
C 1
B 3
F 2
D 5
D 4
A 8
F 9

I would like to order the Author and Title columns (permanently). Particularly, I would like to order in alphabetical order all the authors and, if I've got the same author, order his/her book alphabetically, something like:

Author Title etc.
A 0
A 8
B 3
C 1
D 4
D 5
F 9

How can I achieve this?

Order Selections Problems.

Hey there! ive nearly completed my databse now, but i have one small niggling problem!

As you can (hopefully) see in error.jpg i have an order form which has a subform in it. Now the Order form itself with the addresses and all works fine, however in the subform if i try to enter a 2nd product things go awry and i get that error message. If there's only 1 product selected everything works fine and all the currency related expressions work fine. Im kinda stumped as to what's wrong. I checked the VB code and that all seems fine (although im not too great when it comes to vb) the subform options all seem right and im thinking the relationships are fine too... its kinda annoying really seeing as i gotta show this to my boss tomorrow and well lets say things would go smoother if it actually worked!!

In that subform im trying to get product information from a table called InputMedia and get it to record my selections in iOrderDetails. Im using a query to tie them together and im guessing that is the problem.

Please help me!!

I found a snippet of code online that I'm trying to use in an asset tagging database I'm developing, but I'm struggling to get it working. To start, I have a multi-column ComboBox that displays information in this format:

1001 | iPhone5c
1002 | iPhone5s
1003 | iPhone6
1004 | iPad2
1005 | iPad3

When you select an asset to be assigned to an employee, the ComboBox displays only the asset number (e.g., 1001). While that information is pertinent to our I.T. group, when Human Resources goes to collect an asset from an employee, they don't want to be taking cases off of phones or tablets to verify they have the correct asset number. They want to see the person has an iPhone5s and an iPad2 that they have to collect. So, what I'm trying to accomplish in my VBA is to have access read all the asset numbers and provide the descriptions of those items in another field.

The code I have so far is:

Since this is code is something I found online, I'm not sure why I can't get it to work. I've never worked with the Variant declaration, but I think this may be where the code is breaking because whenever I remove the "For Each...Next", the code correctly assigns the value of column 2 of my very first row to my text box (Text207). Everything I've seen looks as though I don't have to declare varItm because it's function is to represent the rows that are checkmarked for ctl.ItemsSelected.

Forms :: Display TextBox Value Based On Combobox Selections

I have a form that has 3 combo boxes and a text box that I want to be a lookup. I have a little experience with DLookUp, but I do not think that will work here. The three combo boxes are linked to queries, and Tables. The first combo box is for choosing "Precious" or "Base" metals. The second combo box is filtered from the first and displays the "Metal Names". The third combo box is to choose a "Metal Market". There are currently four options for that. I want the text box to display the "Metal Market Price" based on the second and third combo box selections.

Reports :: Coloring Records Based On Form Combobox Selections

Using Access 2007. I have a form (Broker), with a combobox (cboClassifier), that I use to select 1 of 4 phrases, display the selected phrase and color the field with a color that I've assigned to each phrase.

Next, I have a report that contains all of the Broker names, addresses, etc. based on a query (qryBroker). I need the vba or whatever that colors the matching records based on the phrase selected by the combobox on the form, when the report is opened.

As you can see the months are in order alphabetically. How can I fix my query so the months can be in the right order. Jan,Feb,Mar etc?

I imagine it is a simple procedure but I am not sure how. PLEASE HELP :confused:

field "A" is a combobox listing filed from a table (Field= CustomerName, Table=Customers).
filed "B" is a combobox that have to list filed Contact.Name where Ciontct.CompanyName = <companynmae selected at te first combobox>. What is the field name containing the value selected in the first combobox? How to write a SQL that workds?

HOWTO Import Only Table's Data

I want to import data from one DB to another,
but only data without affecting the table structure and names.
In the import dialog box has only two options,
import tables and data
import tables only.
I want the third one ;)
import data only.
Is there any automatic way or do I have to make a VB sub?

What I'm doing now is to importing tables and data
to the second DB, but as u know this results in having every table
twice like Students Students1 Classes Classes1 and so on.
Then I'm removing one by one all the old tables and then renaming every the
Table1 to Table.
As you can imagine this is not a practical solution and it can be implemented only to small DBs, with a small number of tables.
In my case we are talking about a huge DB with over 20 tables,
and the above process (importing data) has to be done at least once per month.

Let me inform you that copying data and only data from one base to another is the only method suits in my case so please avoid suggesting alternative solutions.

I have a combobox [CBreason] that reads from a table to show me why someone is gaining access to the building.

One of the options is "Incident".

When incident is selected I want a textbox [TBIncidentNo] and a button[BIncidentDup] control I made to appear.

I thought that the code:

Me.CBIncidentNo.Visible = True
Me.BIncidentDup.Visible = True

Placed in the after update action of the CBReason box would sufice but it doesnt work

I'm guessing the value is not recognised fro some reason but i cant work out why. There is no error message or issus, it makes the box dissapear when there is no entry but no change for selecting incident.

I have what is probably a stupid question but I've been struggling with this one for a while. I have an ordering database which has an Orders table (containing Order ID, Date, Supplier etc) and an Order Line table within which I have a combo box for Product name, supplier, price, VAT rate, Line price etc. At the moment, I have the order line table as a subform within the Order form (run from the Orders table). The problem I'm having is the subtotal and total fields. At the moment these are in the Order Line table as I cannot figure out how to get these in the Orders table. In summary, can I make a calculated field in one table that calculates values from another table (linked by Order ID)?

The thin is that this keeps asking me to enter the parameter value for "PREFIXOS_E_SUFIXOS!Valor" and for "SISTEMAS_EXCLUIDOS!Sistema"

Sort Not Working (Ascending)

Goodday All

I am having a bit of a problem with one of my tables. I am using VBA code to add data to one of my tables, my problem is that even when I manually sort the table, it still gives me problem.

For example, I have a table that stores mobile numbers by year and month. I manually sort it by year- Ascending, but it still gives me this jumbled up table. I even tried writing a query to pull out the data and set the Sort by ascending and yet still it gives me this. What am I doing wrong?

Sort Query Ascending

I have query that uses the following forumla "Team HCP2: ([Member Frt HCP]+[Member Back HCP]+[Guest Frt HCP]+[Guest Back HCP])/2" to calculate team handicaps. The formula performs as I need it to but when I try to check the sort box to sort "Ascending" it asks for a parameter.

All I want to do is run the query and have the results of the calculation field sort the column of results in a ascending order. All non calculated fields in the query are sortable by using the sort by ascending feature in the design mode.
