Input Box On A Form

Oct 12, 2006

I have an command button, when once selected brings up a inputbox to enter a date is it possible to :

1 - add an Calender to the Inputbox to be able enale the user to select a date instaed of typing it in. I am able to add a date picker calender to a date text field, however i do not know or if it is possible to do this with a input box
2- Once the inputbox appears a message is displayed "Do you wish to fill a cylinder for works order number:-0003102647000001

However i need to split the two numbers 003102647 and 000001. It should say "Do you wish to fill a cylinder for Works Order Number 003102647 and For Line Number 000001". How would i amend the following code to do just that, the coding i am using is

My Code:
InputBox("Do You Wish To Fill A Cylinder For Works Order Number:-" & [Works Order Number] & [Line Number], "Please Enter/Scan Cylinder Serial Number")

3- Also as the inputbox is asking for a cylinder number, the user has to therefore type an appropriate cylinder number to be filled, at the moment the individual can type in any cylinder number, but i would like the cylinder number entered to be validated against the cylinder master table, which is a list of all the cylinders avialable, how is this possible, would it be a select statment.

Calculated String Input Field In An Input Form.

Jan 30, 2005

Hello,

I need to create a field in an input form that is simply the concatenation of two other text fields. I have tried all sorts of things, but when I look at the data in the table that field.

I have a field called ID that I want to be created like this:

=Format([UniqueID],"00000") & "-" & [Mosque]

This works well in my output fields, but does not work the same way on the input form. It needs to be based on the currently input values from the current record. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
--Robert

How To Pull Records Based On Input And Input-1

Sep 22, 2015

I need to be able to query the service dates for the bill. So I can query 1509 for the .billYYMM and .readdate and it will give me the TO Date. How do I in the same query tell the query to subtract 1 from the BillYYMM that I just entered and give me the read date for that field in that query? So Query 1 MBRHISTDETL.BILLMOYR and in the criteria box use [Enter the Bill Month Year YYMM you want to search for] will allow me to run the query at any time for any bill month year that I enter. So another field in that query is MBRHISTDETL.READDATE. So to get the FROM date and the TO date i need the following MRBHISTDETL.BILLMOYR (whatever I enter as input) and MBRHISTDETL.READDATE that corresponds and then I need [MRBHISTDETL.BILLMOYR]-1 and MBRHISTDETL.READDATE. The first gives me the TO date and the 2nd gives me the FROM date?

Customise Query Form Input

Oct 10, 2006

Hi,

Is it possible to customise the input form for a query. At present I have to type in a start and end date manually, it would be far easier to use a popup calendar to select dates. I also have another query that requires you to type in a username, it would be preferential to have a drop down list to select a name from.

Are either of these things possible? or will I need to create a form that calls the query and passes the relevant data?

Many thanks

Input Data With Form On Join

Dec 3, 2005

Hi,

I try to input data in table 1 with a form that is based on a join from table 1 and table 2.

I do a right join, so if there are no records for the join condition in table 1, null values are created. My idea is to change these null values, so 'real' values exist in table 1.

Can anybody help me, or show an alternative way to do this?

Thnx in advance.

Hi there, i have a database i am setting up with 4 tables and am trying to think of the best way to input new data into it. All the tables are linked and its all based on printers. When a new printer is brought if it exists in the database then thats cool it just needs a Printer number assigned to it and the database will do the rest looking up printer model and what cartridges it requires. Get Input For Parameter Query From A Form

Jul 23, 2006

I am not a programmer and I don't know VBA/VB.
I am using this as a workaround to avoid VBA functions (since I don't know them).
I can't seem to find a simple? solution to this.
I have a query that does a radial search in decimal degrees. I have created an unbound form as a dialogue box that converts degrees-minutes-seconds to decimal degrees and displays the results in a calculated text box. What I want to do is have the query take the results in the calculated text box as its parameters (along with a third parameter- distance) without prompting the user. How do I get the query to take its results from the fields on the form? I have tried Like [Forms]![frmName]![SearchValue], but I can't seem to make it work.

Forms :: Using Form To Input Data?

Oct 29, 2014

I am having to develop a form that we can use in case in our web based inventory systems crash. I am not good with forms at all.

I'd like the data entered to go into a table I've created with 4 fields.

So Field1 and Field2 will stay constant until we hit a button that does a whole new person we are issuing equipment to.

Field 3 and 4 though will need to generate a new record each time we scan data into both those fields.

For example the data table would look like this

Field 1 Field 2 Field 3 Field 4

Person1 IDNumber SerialA SerialB
Person1 IDNumber SerialC SerialD
Person1 IDNumber SerialE SerialF
PERSON2 TheirID SerialG SerialH
Person2 TheirID SeriaiI SerialJ

If it makes a difference this form will be done in Access 2010. Once I get the data into the table, I can do whatever I need to do with it.

Modules & VBA :: Input From Form Into Code?

Jan 20, 2014

i have being requested to create a from that displays the number of files in different folders. I can accomplish this somewhat with the code below. In the example below it is only showing the code for the first 3 folders. I have 7 folders in total to count.

1.Each week the location of the data will change. In the example below it is showing 2014-W03, the following week it will be 2014-W04 etc. etc. I was thinking of having an input box in the form that the user type the date into, to trigger the code, but how would I go about changing the code to include this variable?

2.I need to repeat this code for 9 other products, so my form will be displaying data for 10 products in total. I know I could copy this code 9 times and modify it accordingly, but is it possible to loop it in some way?

Code:
' Returns the total number of fails
Private Sub Form_Load()
Dim file As Object
Dim fileCount As Long
With CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject").getfolder(" estmachineProduct1 FAILS2014-W03")
For Each file In .Files

Input Criteria Into Union Query From A Form

May 31, 2006

Based on information from a earlier thread.... I created a Union query that pulls information from multiple tables and fields.

SELECT AG_B_R1 as Num FROM dbo_ADC_Ag_B_Res WHERE Rollnmbr=[roll]
UNION ALL
SELECT AG_B_R2 FROM dbo_ADC_Ag_B_Res WHERE Rollnmbr=[roll]
UNION ALL
SELECT AG_B_R3 FROM dbo_ADC_Ag_B_Res WHERE Rollnmbr=[roll]
UNION ALL
SELECT AG_B_R4 FROM dbo_ADC_Ag_B_Res WHERE Rollnmbr=[roll]
UNION ALL
SELECT AG_m_R1 FROM dbo_ADC_Ag_m_Res WHERE Rollnmbr=[roll]
UNION ALL
SELECT AG_m_R2 FROM dbo_ADC_Ag_m_Res WHERE Rollnmbr=[roll]
UNION ALL
SELECT AG_m_R3 FROM dbo_ADC_Ag_m_Res WHERE Rollnmbr=[roll]
UNION ALL
SELECT AG_m_R4 FROM dbo_ADC_Ag_m_Res WHERE Rollnmbr=[roll]
UNION ALL
SELECT AG_e_R1 FROM dbo_ADC_Ag_e_Res WHERE Rollnmbr=[roll]
UNION ALL
SELECT AG_e_R2 FROM dbo_ADC_Ag_e_Res WHERE Rollnmbr=[roll]
UNION ALL
SELECT AG_e_R3 FROM dbo_ADC_Ag_e_Res WHERE Rollnmbr=[roll]
UNION ALL SELECT AG_e_R4 FROM dbo_ADC_Ag_e_Res WHERE Rollnmbr=[roll];

And then I created another query to get the STDEV of the above query

SELECT StDev([Num]) AS StDev
FROM Q_cals_ag_bme_STDEV_Union;

The result will be on a subform on my main page. How do I get my form to input the [roll] automatically and requery the subform, showing my result.

Add Together A Running Total On Input Fields In A Form?

Aug 28, 2005

Hello, I have 4 input field boxes in a form: "basic hours", "overtime hours", "holiday hours" and "total hours" i would like it so that when the user enters number(s) into the other field(s) the total field will calculate (add togther the other fields). So for example if the user puts "10" in the "basic hours" input field and "5" in the overtime hours" field then the "toal field" will display the number "15". i would like it so that the "total hours" field calculates the total progressively after each number in the other fields is input (ie a running total is displayed). The user will always fill in basic hours but 1 or more of the other fields can be left blank. I think i need to do some VB on the after update procedure for each field entry but not sure what the code is?, any help would be brilliant.

Auto-modify User Form Input

Feb 2, 2006

I have a form where a user will enter a 11 digit number (12345043456). Using ASP (VB) this string of numbers queries an access database and returns the entry for that specific number to the user.

Unfortunately, the numbers in the access table are an 11 digit number with hyphens seperating the string like this 12345-04-3456 (the ndc # of a pharmaceutical).

So What i need is some code that monitors and modifies the form input so that the hyphens are added in to the string when the user is inputting the data.

If i cannot do this, then is there some VB that I can add which modifies the field in the text file when it is imported into access on a daily basis.

Thanks
