ok i have this query.
Code:UPDATE [Claims Header] SET [Claims Header].status = 'I'WHERE ((([Claims Header].Claim_ID)=[claim id]));WHERE ((([Claims Header].Claim_ID)=[claim id]));
i want to have a button that runs this query but how do i pass over the claimid from my form? also when it's done running the query i want it to run a report.
so i was trying to make a macro, but how do i tell the macro to find the claim id from the form?
I'm sure the answer is on here somewhere but trying to find it and then getting it to work is a bit of a problem, so i resorted to posting.
I have 5 tables Partnership Details, Invoices, Funding, Communication, Communication Types.
the field Partnership Name in the Partnership Details table has a one to many relationship with the partnership name on tables: Invoices, Funding and Comunication.
What I want to do is create a query that will show the most recent invoice (detirmined by date) and the most recent funding (detirmined by date) for each partnership.
I can do this using max if I only want the feilds Partnership name, invoice date and funding date. however I want to create a report that will show several feilds from partnership details and I want to show the invoice no. and amount as well as the date and also the amount and notes field for funding
I have a problem... I have four tables(but my problem is limited to just two) The tables are Orders, Customers, Items and OrderedItems The two more detailed below creates the problem when trying to copy an already existing order to a new since the customers usally order the samethings over and over again.
So I have made a copy button on the order form. The copy button should do this: 1. First save the old orders IDOrders and IDCustomers (which it does) 2. Create a new order with old data (which doesnt do) 3. Copy all post in OrderedItems with a new IDOrdered using INSERT INTO and using columns
My SQL statement is like follows: sSQL ="INSERT INTO Orders(IDCustomers, strSalesperson, strWhen, strSent, strComment) VALUES (" & itmpIDCustomers & ",'" & strSalesperson & "', '" & strWhen & "','" & strSent & "');" But the reply I got is "Could not find output table 'Orders'" but I have checked the names over and over again but it doesnt work.
I have a basic database design, well I think so anyway. It only has two tables:
1. tblClientInfo 2. tblNotes
Basically each client has multiple notes/comments that can be linked to its record, hence the tblNotes table. The two tables have a one-to-many relationship, being that each customer can have many notes.
I then have two forms:
1. Claims Loss Form 2. tblNotes_DatasheetSub1
So I can enter multiple notes for each customer. The problem I am having is with the report output. It wants to print every note (record) that is linked to the customer. I just need it to print the most recent note for each customer (It would save a lot of wasted paper).
Example of a print out of what it is doing:
John Doe - 123 Easy St - Notes 1 (Most Recent Note) John Doe - 123 Easy St - Notes 2 (Previous Note) John Doe - 123 Easy St - Notes 3 (and so on...)
It is printing duplicates of the same customer by adding the additional notes for that same customer on a new line.
How can I tell it to only print the customer one time in the report, and most importantly, to only use the most recent note that is linked to the customer?
I tried using DMax("NoteDate","tblNotes"), but this only returns one customer with one note. I need it to do that for each and all customers.
I have successfully ran a subquery (two queries with one linked to another) by following detailed instructions from this page I found: [URL] .... It works, but the problem is it only shows the latest date for each note, not the actual contents of the note. I feel so close with this option, but so far at the same time.
The TOP n records per group looks promising that I found here: [URL] ...., but I honestly don't know how to implement it correctly in my SQL. I am very much still learning Access and apparently have stumbled into something that is much more complicated than I had originally imagined. I just assumed I could filter the duplicates out, or tell access to print the last or most recent note record for each customer.
How do I create a table relationship where a secondary reltated table stores past dates, status code and customer ID. For example: I want to keep track of the past dates that an order was revised and why it was revised. So, if I have a customer who was due for installation on 10/21/04 and status is PEND for pending. THen on 10/18/94 I change the date of PEND to 10/25/04. I want to keep track of the times it changed and the reason why. HOw can I make the program automatically create a record in the revision table storing the past code, reason and date using customer ID as key and teh revision table would allow multiple records for each customer ID. DId I make sense?
In the attached DB I have a form that has a combo box which enables you to select an employee and all the employee info is then pulled based on the selection. I want to make changes to the info in the form and have the changes update the correct employee on the table. Currently the from will not let me make changes to the info and the table seems to add new lines rather than updating the corresponding line.
I have a table with part orders and I want to retrieve my five most recent orders in a query. That means I'll need the 5 most recent orderids How would I mention that in my criteria?
I have a table with a DateTime field. I would like to create a query that queries only the 3rd most recent record in the table. So there would only be one record per ID. If there is only two records for an ID, it would show nothing. I have tried a few things already, but none of them have worked quite right. I was wondering if anyone had a new idea.
I've been working on this problme for several weeks, thinking about it for the last month or so, and am at a loss of what to try next. I'm working on a database for my office that tracks all of the permits we have issued. Every year our permit fees increase by the CPI (consumer price index) and the permit fee entry in the table needs to be updated (75 to 80 entries).
Rather than typing them in every year (too many chances for errors) I'd like to be able to update our fee schedule table (8 entries, look up table) and have that table update all of our fee entries in the permit table.
Any ideas of how to go about this? Thank you for your help.
Here is the set up. I have a primary school database.
There is a main form that shows the students name and class.
The main form contains tabs for each subject (maths, english etc.). Each tab has a subform that is supposed to allow me to enter a comment about the student's progress.
My tables are set up properly (as far as I can tell).
The Master and Child (main form and subform) are linked using StudentID.
I use a query for fields in the Master form. Each subform has its own query that shows results for a particular subject.
The problem
My subform allows me to edit an existing comment fine (if I enter dummy data directly in a table).
BUT, if there isn't an existing comment, and I attempt to enter one, I get an error - "YOU CANNOT CHANGE A RECORD BECAUSE A RELATED RECORD IS REQUIRED IN TABLE tbl_Subjects."
What I have tried
I understand this error means I am violating referential integrity rules. But I can't see why. The tbl_Subjects is populated with 10 subjects and I am only trying to put a comment against an existing SubjectID.
I've checked that my Form Master / Subform Child is ok. I experimented with having StudentID _and_ Subject_ID to link the master and subform to see if that worked. It only made things worse because my subforms wouldn't display correctly.
I have a split database, a front for data entry and of course the back end with all the tables. I have created several Append queries to move records from one table to another (from Applicants to Students, once they are Accepted). The queries work - when I go into the tables and look, there's the data right where I told it to go. But when I open the Students input form (which draws from the destination table), the new data doesn't show up. I double-checked the destination table, and yes, the appended data is all there.
I tried running the simply query that populates the input form, and it doesn't show up in the simple query, either. I've tried Refreshing everything numerous times, tried updating the Linked Table Manager numerous times, opened and closed the program, and no dice - the data is in the table but never shows up in the simple query that populates the data input form. There's no filters on the simple query, so everything in the table should show up - but doesn't.
I have a table in my DB named TblStock and another named TblStock2..I also have a form in the DB named "frmStock" with the control source being "TblStock" . This form has a sub form "FrmStock2Subform" with control source being "tblStock2". The two forms are lined by "PurchaseID". This form is made to be used in entering products that have been bought for replenishment of stock. The problem I have is that when I enter data in the main form, by the time i click on the subform to start entering data, the table "TblStock" gets already updated.
Now lets assume somebody was about to enter data in the subform and later on changes his mind when the "TblStock" had already been updated, this will cause a waste of useful space because there is no corresponding record in the table "TblStock2". Secondly, if many users are entering data into the DB using that same form, I guest there will be some problems too. What i want is that the form should update both tables when the users validates the records.
I have a database that is used to allocate appointments to our staff. It has 2 tables, one that lists the clients we need to call in that day, and another that stores details of each contact attempt. I'd like to design a query that find all clients who we have not dealt with so we can easily get their details in a list. I know what the criteria for the query would be, but I'm stuck for how to actually execute it. Here are the details.
Table tClients stores the current clients - primary key is named "clientRef" Table tContactEvents stores each contact attempt and the date/time is stored in a field named "dateTime".
When an entry has been dealt with successfully a yes/no field named "completed" will be set to "Yes".
There may be many attempts to contact a specific client on a given day, unsuccessful attempts will not have the completed flag set.
Once the completed flag is set that client will be ignored so no further entries will appear.
So I need a query that searches tContactEvents for the most recent match to each number in tClients.clientRef and checks if the completed flag is set. If the completed flag is false, or if the number has no match (i.e. no contact attempts made yet) then the clientRef should be displayed. I also need this to be restricted to the current date, as the same client could have rebooked their appointment to a different day.
I am trying to write a more complex macro that will start another macro at a preset time, however I am getting stopped at the first hurdle - getting a macro to run another macro.
Here is the code i am using at the moment, all I want to do currently is click the first button, then get the second macro to execute. But no luck, getting error 2157 "cannot find the procedure"
I have a macro that imports a table from a network drive. I have hard coded in the path. However, each year file location changes. Is there a way in a Macro to adjust the code based on some other parameter?
Under the "TransferDatabase" action, for the "Database Name", I hard coded:
y:sidewalks2006swk_master.mdb
However, I want the 2006 to automatically come from some other location. Here’s what I tried to no avail (where I wanted the dlookup to return 2006):
im working on a project , and i need to add a sale and delivery option like a table connected to a member customer with product list and price and in the end put all together in a report. Like a bill.
Hi. I regularly import tables with many fields from a third party application into Access 2000. These fields all have captions as well as field names (obviously!) but I give them much more meaningful "friendly" names. But to do this I must first manually delete all the captions. Is there an easier way? Thanks in advance.
I have two tables in my Access database, their fields are exactly the same (for now). One table is called Uncheched. The other one is called Checked. So what is need is a macro that takes selected records in table Unchecked and copies them to the end of table Checked. Actually CUTS from Unchecked and PASTES to the end of Checked table.
Sub MoveRecords() DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdCut DoCmd.OpenTable "tblChecked", acNormal, acEdit DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acLast DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdPaste End Sub
I'm very new to access database and I'm trying to create a macro that allows the user to enter data after seeing a mistake in a form. I need a macro that will open the specific table and record of a piece of data. For example there is a student TestName3 whose grade on a competency is 30% but should really be 45%. I want a macro by the competency percentage to allow the teacher to edit that without looking through the entire table. The macro should prompt first to ask if the teacher is sure they would like to edit, second prompt asking for the student's unique ID number, and finally be taken to the specific record and table related to that competency.
I have tried to use a vastly overcomplicated DLookup and Order column to give me the value for a acGoTo search.
Here's what I have.
Option Compare Database
Dim answer As String Dim response As Object Dim gotoresponse As Object
Private Sub Command71_Click() On Error GoTo Command71_Click_Err
I reused one macro to develop a form in MS access.
The macro fetch the record set corresponding to the reference value from the table.
The reformat value is a numeric field.
The macro code is :
Private Sub Modifiable20_AfterUpdate() Dim rs As Object Set rs =Me.Recordset.Clone rs.FindFirst "[Reference_Number] = ' " & Me![Modifiable20] & " ' " If Not rs.EOF then Me.Bookmark = rs.Bookmark End Sub
What to change in the above code to make it work....
