I'm using Access 2013. I have a directory on my hard drive that contains hundreds of image files. The name of the image file matches a field in the Access table, which are unique. I would like to match those files to the unique number in the table and create a link in a field. How would I go about this.
I am running Access 2013. I have created a report where the tables are linked to a SQL DB
I am trying to run a sales report that includes an stored image.
I am adding an Image and then using the control source to look up the 'filepath' stored in the DB. When I run the report on screen all the images are showing but when I try to print it (including exporting to PDF or XPS) and Print Preview only 2 of the 9 images print per page. The images are around 2-4 Mb.
I'm guessing its to do with the files sizes but cannot do anything about the size.
So I've just started with a company where my job is to manage a ton of data. I am new to Access (2010) and am completely impressed by all the awesome things it can do. However, I am running into some issues with knowing the best way to get my current data (which is all in Excel spreadsheets) into Access.
We are working with about 68 customers in 6 different focus areas (or areas of improvement). To make it easier for them, my company has not required them to enter all their data for each area into a centralized database. Instead, we are pulling reports (into Excel) from 3 different databases. The customers who are not currently submitting data to these databases are sending us Excel spreadsheets with their data (they send a seperate spreadsheet for each focus area). So you can see where my problem lies ... NOTHING is the in the same format. Even then the Excel spreadsheets look different from month to month (and customers submit a new, updated form every month with the current month and previous months) because the people managing the data before I came along changed the format a few different times and the customer has the ability to change them too.
Basically, I would really really really like to be able to just link the Excel files to my database, but I am struggling knowing how to do that with my data in so many different places and forms.
2013 does NOT recognize DBF files, we are trying to find a solid work around to LINK to our DBF files.
There are about 30 DBF files that get updated EVERY week. And there are about 60 employees that LINK to the various DBF files. Importing is not a realistic solution given these circumstances.
i have a cars database because it is difficult to add 4000 pictures i want to know if is it possible to add a field that opens an ie page in google images to show results of images for that car? ex : model : Ferrari foto link :http://images.google.com.gr/images?hl=el&lr=&q=Ferrari&btnG=%CE%91%CE%BD%CE%B1%CE%B6%CE%AE%CF%84%CE%B7%CF %83%CE%B7
I have a form for adding new records. They are for people and I add in a bmp image of them. I want to create an automation. Where you press a button to add a photo. Find a jpeg you want. Then it is resized, converted to bmp and saved in the database. Is this easy enough to achieve? (size 256x188px)
I'd like to put a button in a form that when clicked opens an image on the computer, the location of which is already specified in a field called RefImage.
When I change the hyperlink property I can only have the button open a folder or internet address rather than a unique image for each individual record.
If I use the code builder for the event on click and try to write Application.FollowHyperlink RefImage it gives me error message 490 that it Cannot Open the Specified File, but this is probably because I don't know how to write VBA.
Any simple way to make a button on a form open an image in IE or windows image viewer which has a path specified within a field of the form? Perhaps someway to use the Application.FollowHyperlink, clearly I am doing something wrong.
I want to get the link adress to an image in a report using VBA. I use the following code:
PHP Code:
Dim strPath As String strPath = [CurrentProject].[Path] & "builder" & FirstImage If Not Right(strPath, 7) = "bilder" Then Me.huvudbild.Picture = strPath Else Me.huvudbild.Picture = [CurrentProject].[Path] & "builder\_tom.jpg" End If
I get the following error (translated from Swedish): Error: 2424 The expression contains a field, a control or a property name that MS access couldnt find.
Does anyone know how to import or link files from the Quickbooks Timer program? I've tried changing it to a *.xls file extension and that didn't work, tried linking vs. importing, etc.
I have created a form in Access updating the files each month but I need to keep the previous month data as historical record . how can I creat and archiving function / command so that the files that have been updated are not lost and will be kept for future use? thank you for your help
Im familiar with Ms Access, but have never used VBA or Scripts. I have 37 Excel files with the same data and would like to import into one file. Data will be received on a monthly basis into the same directory and I would like to automatically upload the data into the same file in Access.
Sue manage the acc.mdb database file, The database has one table which is called "input", Sue made the form, the form is come from "input" table info. and also Sue made one button to send the specific record to the Tom via outlook, once Sue send out, the mail has created a link, which link can open the document (NOT attached file). Once Tom receive the mail from Sue, Tom will click the link to open the document, and also fill out one signature inside the document, after filled it out, then the signature will automatically populate in the specific field of the "input" table in the acc.mdb database file.
I have to write a code for my database,i have folder with files "pending Review" and a table with column "tblExcelLocation". when i run my database all the files from pending review folder goes to "tblExcelLocation" on a click of button. But,if the files already exists it should not insert those files and insert the rest. For this i tried to write a code but i think i m unable to do that .
Code: Loop through files in folder folderspec = "O:QA FilesQC ReportingPending Review" Set fs = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set f = fs.GetFolder(folderspec) Set fc = f.files
I have a lot of Excel files and each of them has 3 sheets that I would like to import in Access 2010. How can I import them without having to do one by one?
I am linking the Access tables with another Access Database. But after exiting from Ms Access application links are not getting saved. the version of both the DB are Access 2003.
I have some data in excel which I am importing it into MS Access 2002. Each excel file (one worksheet per file) is imported into separate tables.
I want to combine all my imported tables into one table. Is that possible, if yes then how and if no then what can be done to get single table after impoting data from various excel files.
What is the strategy for doing this rather than the code (if it's possible)? I can code a fair bit of VBA in excel but I'm not too sure about what I'm doing in Access.
Does anyone know if ti is possible to link an access table to one stored on an intranet site? This is used for logging help desk calls and various locations need to look at it at the same time.
I have tried it and seems to work but I get a "Not a valid file name" message
Hi, I would like to rename my access file. My problem: I have many pivot in excel link to this database so if i rename it all the links will be down...How can i resolve this? (of course rebuild all pivots could be a solution but I have around 50 pivots behind my database) Thanks for your help!
I have an Access 2007 application where don't work the link table manager.
I also try to complete reinstall the Office 2007 and also I register the Accwiz.dll in the office folder (regsvr32.exe Accwiz.dll) but the module still does not work.
I have a database that I migrate to different locations as we change stations (military). I keep the master on my C: drive and then put a copy onto the shared network drive. I keep my images in a subfolder of the master db.
example:
C:Pirate (master db) C:Piratedbfiles (where I store the images)
I have the images "linked" on the forms to the subfolder "dbfiles" that is on the shared drive. However, as we change locations the drive letter changes for the shared drive. I want to make a "relative" link to the pictures in the properties box as so:
Piratedbfilesimage1.jpg or dbfilesimage1.jpg
However, it keeps putting the C: in front of the text or else it won't find the images. I desire it to look in the subfolder of the active db (whether or not it is on the LAN or hard drive).
I know I can embed the images, but that exponentially increases the size of the db. I've played around with putting them in a table, but couldn't make that work either.
I have a form that I would like to update a picture on using VBA. The source of the picture path is in part a query that is not bound to the form. So far I have the following code that is pretty much working, but with a couple flaws.
Code: Private Sub Form_Current() LoadDefaultPicture End Sub Sub LoadDefaultPicture() Dim db As DAO.Database
[Code] ....
This is working. However, when I change the record the picture flashes the current picture once and then loads the new picture. It is like it reloads the current picture then loads the new one. I'm hoping there is a way to get rid of the flash.
Also, the code fails here: strDefaultPictureName = rs.Fields("AttachmentName")
When the query does not return a record. I can definitely fix this by adding an if statement to check for a record, but I'm kind of perplexed at why it is failing at that line. I would expect it to assign an empty string to that variable name and then fail on the next command where I try and set the ".Picture" property of the image.
