I am working with a large database of 8,000+ entries. We have five tables in this database, but mainly use three of them. The main table is "OAKE Main Table" which is basically a list of all members our organization has had. Each member has accounting data linked to their member ID number which has been generated by ACCESS, and can be accessed or edited by clicking on a sub table next to each member. The accounting data that has been manually entered in the OAKE Main Table can be found in the Accounting table.
Here's my issue. I need to be able to extract a list of transactions from this accounting table since January 1st. I can do this no problem, but all I get is the member ID and the accounting data. How do I get ACCESS to include the member ID's first and last name? or maybe even the first, last name, address, city, state, zip, etc so that I can get a list of people who have made donations, for example?
I'm assuming this will have something to do with the relationships we have set up in our table. Here's a picture of it. I have no clue how to make this work.
I have been able to link column A1 in Table A to Column B1 in Table B. But I want to link Columns A2,A3,A4 to Columns in table B using A1 and B1 as the relationship. Can this be done??
I have a database with two tables. tbl_job_information contains all the contracts info etc. tbl_data contains all the relevant work data. The first table is restricted to certain personnel, whereas anyone has access to the second table. Both tables have a column called 'job no', in the first table it is a primary key, in the second just a field. I would like to make it impossible in the second table to change the data in the 'job no' column to anything that is not in the same column in the first table. It this possible within the tables themselves, or would I have to do it via coding and forms?
I have done multiple tutorials to get the fundamentals behind me, but seem to have a few issues on the best ways of setting out what I have in mind.So the set out I have used is creating a table called tblProjects - this will be the area where all new projects are added as they come in including details such as a ProjectID ProjectNumber ProjectDescrition Client Name etc. For costing purposes we also have task numbers that need to sit under an individual Project Number EG.
ProjecNumber: 13001
[code]...
So the plan was to create another table called tblJobTasks..How then does one go about linking the project number to the job tasks... and following on I suppose where I want to get to with this is on a form having a drop down that selects the job number then another drop down that has a list of tasks specified to that particular job so when the girls are doing the data entry from a time sheet she only sees the list of tasks associated with the particular job selected in the first place..
Hy everyone I have to make a report based on data from 5 queryes, the problem is that any of the 5 queryes could be with no vales in it and the queryes has diferent numbers of columns. I tyed union query but it gave me an eror because of diferent number of columns. In design wiev I aded the queryes but now if any of the query has no data in it the output quey is void. Here is the SQL statement from the query the db is to large to post it:
I am trying to split a number sequence (Ex. 25372-400-E10-0000-D0021) Where the third number in the sequence can be either 2 or 3 numbers/letters.
The idea is to have a query that will split this number into its individual parts. I have seen several forums about splitting two numbers and such but I can't seem to make that work when I need to create 5 columns from this one field.
The above table suits me well for data entry. For analysis reasons, I want it to have another table or query or something (let's call it "Teacher Info") that looks like this:
Is there any way that I could do this? I have been struggling with this for a while.Just so you know how this data is connected - At the moment, I have a form where I put in new Teacher information. I have a subform attached to that, where I put the student names and numbers. This way, the students are linked with their student #s, and each of them are linked to a teacher. Unfortunately, the table ("New Teacher Registration") that this creates looks like this:
id....Teacher Name 62...... Alice (+ tab).........A.........432 ...................B.........674 ...................C.........875 18.......Katie (+ tab).........D.........934 ...................E.........345 4........Dan (+ tab).........F.........134 ...................G.........734
I created the "Student Info" table (above) from this to work with data entry (drop-downs and such). Now I'd like to create a "Teacher Info" table (above) for analysis.
I'm new to Access. We have a database that was created years ago and has been working fine. Now suddendly we get the following error message on a query.
"The number of columns in the two selected tables or queries of a union query do not match"
This is the code
SELECT [TimeSheets All].[Job Number], [TimeSheets All].Date, [TimeSheets All].Details, [TimeSheets All].[Start Time], [TimeSheets All].[End Time], [TimeSheets All].[Unbillable hours], [TimeSheets All].Who, * FROM [TimeSheets All] WHERE ((([TimeSheets All].[Job Number]) Like [Forms]![Search]![Job Number])) ORDER BY [TimeSheets All].[Job Number], [TimeSheets All].Date;
I am using Access 2010 and I am fairly new to it (started using it for work).
I have a table with a bunch of a agreement numbers (134) and I need to link each one to its folder on our company's shared G drive. The agreement numbers all follow the format A12.## (Where ## is the number of the agreement going from 1-134).
So I have the path to get to the location of all the agreement files, and I know there has to be a faster way than to edit each individual hyperlink, I myself just don't know how to do it.
Also the files on the shared drive start with the A12.## but then also continue with the name of the agreement. I was thinking that somehow for each record you could apply all at once the same path to the agreements and then for each individual record get it to search for its closest matching agreement number?
problem is that i have 2 tables - Consolidated Orders, Customers.
Customers has 2 fields with a record inside one field with the clients name , but it also has an address in another field in the same table which i want to link to the name of the client because in my invoice i show the companies name and to the left of it i show their address.
i wish to link the two fields together so that when the name shows up, the address of the client will be to the left side .
I have three tables that are named different, but have the same column names, but different data in them. The data in each table is linked by a master table that has a primary key.
What I need is a way to make a form with a box where I can search on a value that could be in any of the three tables and then the associted information from the site will display in the above boxes.
(Site Master Table contains all site information and the primary key) (The three tables are sales order information. Stage Only table, Install table, and srop ship table)
I am trying to compare/relate two columns in two tables to each other in access, where the results shoud return similarities among both colums from both tables.Even if one column has some parts of it. Example; T1 T2 Name Members John Johnson.kay mike mike Daniel Danielson.mic Richard Richardson
I tried; "like[T1.Name]*" in the criteria section of Members.Need Help pls.
The problem I'm having is that i need to combine 12 tables with multiple columns and not all columns have the same headers. So if a column is present it should be updated, if not it should be added.
The end result should be one column with all records and all columns that exists in all 12 tables.
The tables have an identifier that is the same for all columns (supplier reference).
Table 1 has 56 columns Table 2 has 42 columns (of which some have the same header) ....
(--doing every column manually is something i would like to avoid if possible --)
I've been using a series of 5 tables to export an XML file using Access's native XML export. In order to keep the XML intact, there are relationships setup to link each sets of elements together via an ID number(link) field in each table.
Access does a great job at exporting, but then we need to rely on another program to delete these link fields that links the tables together so our XML validates. Additionally, we use this program to reorganize some of the XML, as one of our tables puts itself at the end of the XML element and not in the middle where it should be. This is not a problem when I'm dealing with a few hundred records, as the 3rd part program does the trick. The problem is when I have enough data to generate a 30+MB file that my other program chokes on when trying to manipulate the XML.
So my question is...how can I export these 5 tables to XML while omitting the linking member fields and organizing it how it should be? I have examples of code below. How Access Exports it
Currently I'm building tables and forms. My first table (called Clients) lists the details of fictional clients. My second table is for invoices.
In my invoices table, I wish to link the column for client reference (note: stored in the Clients table) to the column that precedes it. This column will list the clients’ names and is selected from a drop down list that is linked to the Clients table.
What I want to do (if its possible) is to have the respective client ref. automatically show up in the next cell once I've selected the client to whom the invoice relates?
Am I making sense? Is that possible? If so, how do I do it?
Secondly, how do I do a sum of selected columns for my “totals” column? Basically, I want to add the figures found in several cells that precede it?
I'm pretty good with setting up a very simple database such as inventory, profiles, etc.. However I'm creating a database to keep track of a football (soccer) team's players and match statistics. What I have so farsample attached)
Tables: * Players - PlayerID, Fname, Lname, position, goals, assists, etc (all details regarding a player) * Position - Positons (Table containing positions eg: defender. Data is selected in player's form as a combo-box) * Competition - Competition types (Cup, League, Friendly. Data is selected in Match's form as a combo-box * Venue - similar to Competition table * Opponent - Similar to above two tables * Match - MatchID, Competition, Venue, etc (form corresponding to table attached)
Forms: * Player form * Match form
Now as shown in the sample, I choose players using the combo-box. Then whatever stats they had during the match are entered on the fields provided. How to link the player (selected using combo box) to the stat fields (goals, assist, YC, etc).
I have a table (tbl Team Info) which contains names and codes for teams within my business (>400 records) and another table (tbl Process) which contains a list of high level tasks (30 records).
I need to create something where for each team name 9in tbl Team Info) I can map them to the tasks that they undertake (in tbl Process) and assign a percentage of time then spend on each task. Each team could map to several different tasks.
I'm trying to set up a simple query that links four tables. However, the tables are extremely large, all in excess of 1.5GB each so I had to split the tables up into four separate DBs. I've tried the following with no success:
1) Link the 4 tables in the DB which contains my primary key. This quickly inflates increases the file size above 2GB and won't let me go any further.
2) Build a remote query to connect the four tables. This looked promising until I tried to run the query and it became evident that it only knows to point to the last database source that you specified.
I'm running everything locally on my C drive. The data source are simple text files (1.6 million rows) from the FDA website.
I have a MS ACCESS 2010 database with a data table which i am trying to create a query from. I have 6 columns of data( one with an ID Field and 5 Name Fields). Below i have made examples of how it first appears as a simple query and the second will show you what i would like it to look like.
What the simple query looks like: [URL] ...
Second what I want the query to look like: [URL] ....
I am a girl guide leader trying to make a faster way to keep track of my unit's completed badge and program work. I have made tables for every area I need (I started with one table but it was too large to change into a form).
In total I have:
- Basic Member table (main information like their name and how many years they have been in, whether they are still in the unit, etc) - Program area tables - Interest badge tables
What I want to do is be able to "add/edit" members from the main form, then go to all the sub forms for their program and badge work -- problem is, how to link them!
I have three tables. Risk, Names and RiskAndNamesJunction table. I have the junction table because I have many to many relation (meaning many people can be connected to one risk and many risks can be connected to one people).
The problem is that If I make a query to show the people related to the risks, if there are many people for one risk then it will put the people in different rows. Meaning that for risk 2 I will have three rows, because there are three people connected to this rows. See the attached file!
What I would like to do is to have a query which (in case there are more than one risk owners) puts the second name in another column, the third name in another column and so on. So I will have only one row per risks.
The attached file is a dummy file, so there are only maximum three names per risk. In the real file the maximum is five names per risk. So I am talking about no more then five extra columns. (So I am talking about a query which would put the first finding in the first extra column, then the second item in the second and so on till five. It there is no third or fourth or fifht item then the columns remain blank).
Unfortunately I have to do this because our mother company works with excel and they are sticking to this format in excel.
Currently trying to build a database for customer management and order placement/tracking. Want to set a couple of rules so that if I for instance click yes of billing and shipping address the same that the database will automatically fill the shipping address with the data I inputted for the billing address in the same table.
The other issue I can see I'll run into is, I want to be able to select one of the company ID's (made up of a three letter abbreviation of the full company name) in the product ordering table and it will automatically fill in the rest of the customer data (phone, email, address etc) data into that form.
I am doing a project where we are collecting home owner data and information on all the dogs in the household. The data for homeowner has an autonumber primary key because no field is unique or has been consistently collected. I am struggling to link the data for the dogs to the owners because an autonumber primary key will not work since not all homes have dogs. I need to have this set up so that people who are not tech savvy can look up each homeowner (or dog) and get the dog (or home owner) information. And to make things even more fun we need up to 15 potential dogs per household each of whom will have 18 different pieces of data collected.
It looks a little like this (and you can see my not matching ID issue):
Homeowner table ID First Name Last Name...........Total Dogs 1 Max Maximus 5 2 Min Minimus 0 3 Mus Musculus 1
Dogs 1-5 table ID Date Dog 1 Name Dog 2 Name .......Dog 5 Name 1 (Max's) 4/11/14 Bobby Billy Betty 2 (Mus's) 4/11/14 Jojo
Min will have no dog records at all, just home information.how to link the dog's to the homeowners .
how many columns is the maximum in a query?, because i have one that has 26 columns , but i need some more... what can i do?? is there a way to add some empty columns to a query?? thanks
