List Box Unbound Records

I have an unbound listbox and some unbound text boxes.I am attempting to create code that will fill in the text boxes depending on which record I select within the list box.The listbox does not have multi select on, only single select is possible.I found listBox.Value which gives me the primary key which is nice, its something.
I have attempted several ways of things I have found online with no luck on how to get the remaining information into the other text boxes.I have seen a for loop to find the one that is selected then using the listboxControl.Column(intColumn,intRow) but I obviously don't understand how to implement it.The other option is to use a query but I am apparently doing that incorrect as well.The query:

I think this is the correct query but I cant seem to implement it either.
I know you don't want people saying "tell me how to do it." So if you have any resources I am good reading up further on it, I just cant find a place that I can get the required info.

I need to manage a list of, in this case "medications", with this list the most common "meds" are on the top of the list. there will be at times new "meds" added that should be at the top of the list. I want to create a unbound box that will let me drag the "meds" up or down in the list. The best emample i know of is the way you can set the "Tab" fields on a form to move the tabs stops.

I have an unbound listbox in my details section of my form and it will display items from the database that I have selected. There are 19 in all. If I double click the row, the edit form pops up. If I right click I can sort the columns. I want to have a single click that allows the user to open the attachment in that list. I am not sure how to code this.

I'm relatively new to Access 2010. I have an excel spreadsheet that I've converted into an access table for the purposes of creating a user friendly form for the end user to search for relevant criteria to retrieve a list of records that fit the requests. There are two main search functions: unbound keyword search (90+ keywords), and either a series of checkboxes or one list box that lists specific countries/regions matched in a column (columns, as I will get to shortly). The region selection is bound by a selection of 15 countries.
The key is each record can correspond to more than one country. This, one record can have "Belgium, Germany, brazil" and the next record can just have "brazil". Thus if someone selects brazil, the query must retrieve the Belgium Germany brazil record in addition to the record that covers just brazil. I've tried to do this with a concatenated column that list all countries and a text box search, I've tried to do this with individual checkbox columns for each country with checkboxes in the search form...and I can't get it to work. I don't fully understand the criteria to set for checkboxes or list boxes. What would be the best way to build this form, an how?

i have a form contains unbound listbox , that accumulates values of a field in that form "SalName" , when i move between records of this form i want the value that is in the current record is distinguished in the Listbox ( only where the SalID=SalID).distinguish by A special colour ,Font,undeline.

I have a BackUp and Restrore from BackUp procedure in my my database.
I can backup to a spreadsheet and the spreadsheets are renamed to include the date of the backup.
When I restore from the backup an unbound combo is populated
Code : Set SourceFolder = FSO.GetFolder("c:GPandDetectionDogTrainingLogBackUp")
This all works, the only issue being, is that I want the most recent backup to be at the top of the list, at the the moment its at the bottom.
is there a way of implementing a sort order, bearing in mind that its an unbound combobox.

why =listboxname.column(0) in the control source of a textbox will give me the value "#name?" ? I've used it successfully on another form..but for some reason its not working for me.

I have a list box on an unbound main form, which contains a rowsource consisting of files in a certain folder. The listbox is unbound
when I change an item in a subform, the listbox should update to show different items from the same folder.
Now it is updating correctly, so the rowsource appears to be correct, , but then the listbox behaves strangely - with the first item being sort of permanently selected - or at any rate - strange selection behaviour
out of interest, changed it to a combo box and it works correctly. so there must be some difference between the two?

The appearance is similar to what is described in the thread.
although I have played with the strings to get them shorter without getting it work correctly. very strange
if I run the code to update the listbox from the subform, either directly, or by running as sub IN the main form, it produces this strange behaviour. If I run exactly the same code directly IN the main form, it seems to work properly.

I have an unbound combo box that looks up a list of numbers through a query but on the drop down list it does not go all the way down to the bottom of the numbers. For instance the combo box will only go down to the number 27453 but I know there are more numbers than that in the table. I can even type in a number and get the info but it still doesn't show up in the list...

I have a form with 1 unbound listbox as drop down list (entypolst), an unbound text box(entypotxt) and a command button. The list box reads items from a table. I want to change a value (text) on listbox, input a text on textbox so pressing the button add a new record in a table (Table1 fields Category,Product) showing in my form as subform (SFTable1) in datasheet view. I'm looking to move an excel sheet to access because the row counts are too much.The main thing it does is compare the supplied data against a list I hold in the sheet.There are not duplicate records, however..Some data is a direct lookup for a full match, but much of it is a count to see how many records contain a certain string.
I have 500 keywords which have a countif function in using wildcards.I need to create a query/report which will return a list of records from the original list which contains each keyword featured and how many times it features.I was going to do it in PHPmysql but the time it took to parse a million records for every keyword made it pointless.
eg:
keywords:
look
billy
magic
list:
"have a look and see"
"spanish dave"
"who is billy brag"
"looky looky I go hooky"
"who's the man from argentina"
"could it be magic now"
my spreadsheet would return a 1 next to ""billy" and "magic" and would put a 2 next to "look".
the sheet has the keyword in each row and next to the column:
=COUNTIF(list,CONCATENATE("*@",B13))
where "list" is the external data.

I am using an unbound box on the top of a form where I would like to select a clients name and have the form populate with their info. My problem is that the box will pull up the record by last name, but only pull up the first record with that last name in alphabetical order.
Example, If I have the following names in my database
Ben Smith
John Smith
Tim Smith
If I select "john smith" from the drop down "ben smith" will show up, if I select "tim smith" "ben smith" will still show up. If I select "ben smith" the correct record would show up.

Hello, here is my problem:
I have a form to add records to my table. I cant bound it, because the controls are tick boxes, and they need to be "converted" into text to add them to my table.
I have a save button, so I can execute an insert statement with all the data I want to add to the table.
The problem is, once I have saved the record, I want to clear the form to add a new record, and I cannot use a docmd.gotorecord acnext as it is an unbound form.
Is there any way to clean a form without going control by control?

I have a form that reads records from a query.. It loads the first record into the form, without issue.
Code:

Now I have have 2 buttons at the bottom of the form, one for next record and another for previous record...

I know that I have 3 records that result in the query named "Results", the next record button will bring the form from record 1, to record 2... however it will not move from the 2nd to the 3rd record...

I have a main form frmProperty from where you can go via a button to frmTraining and these two are linked by "Property Code".
On frmTraining i have an unbound combobox which gets it data from the tblTraining table. I want this to only display data for the "Property Code" that the frmProperty is pointing to.
I assumed this would just work if the link criteria was present in the button code, however it appears that no matter what the "Property Code" the combo box displays all the data in the tblTraining table.
Anybody have any ideas?

Hi i have a shared database and have a form with a string of records. Each record has its own unbound checkbox and I want to make it so you can select multiple records, then be able to hit a button on the top of the form to edit certain fields of the records selected. Please keep in mind that this is shared by 10 users, therefore a linked yes/no field would cause problems between the users.

I total novice at VBA. I am trying to code a button to modify (the last) record in a subform list and then add a new record based on values in unrelated or unbound fields on the button form.
The following code is based on the first of two YouTube tutorials (this bit on the edit) and looks like it should work. Except that my Access 2010 with Visual Basic for Aplication v7 does not recognise the type definition Database or Recordset

have set up a navigation form which contains 5 unbound subforms that are made visible or not visible thru the on click event of command buttons on the main form, the subforms have a command button with an embedded macro that searches for a record based on what has been keyed to an unbound text box on the subform, this works fine when the sub forms are opened independently of the navigation form but when the search is done from within the main form, the error message is, "....cannot find the referenced from frmAQIFAList" subform, I tried referencing the main form name infront of the subform name but this also doesn't work, perhaps this would be better with code ? or is it because the subforms are unbound ?

how to add recoreds in table thru form. There are 10 fields. first two are txt boxes and rest of are combo boxes. combo box are with drop down list. But they are unbound. two txtbox are auto filled by the username and empid. Now need to write the code to update these value to table. Just i wanna do ti thru vba coding only.

The unbound Parent form has a listbox (SQL Server) , the selection updates the SubForm with a primary key ID. The Subform is a ReadOnly view from an Oracle Linked table. It populates with a Select * From Oracleview where ID = listboxID The code is at the link shown below update: The subform uses textboxes linked to the read-only record.
The main form can populate, no problem. However the SubForm data source is either populated OR is Null.
If it is Null, the subform stays blank. Two Objectives:
1. Set a boolean variable flag in the parent (main form) that subform record exist or that it is null. e.g. Parent obtain recordset count property from Sub form
2. Display the subform with blanks.

I have a DB where you there's 5 tables all linked together by one project ID
tables below
Project , Staff, Asset, allowances, travel, mark up
What I can do is create a new project, then add records to each of the other tables on what different items I require,
i.e. I create a new project - called project one, in the project table I create a record stating, name, time scale, client and location, then I add different records to each of the other tables on what I require all linked to the same project ID. (probably not explained that too well)
Now I want to create a query that lists all the requirements one after the other this will make it easier to create reports and to calculate costing's.
At the moment I have made 5 different queries listing all the data, then have one report containing 5 sub reports to display the data, no this does work.

I'm trying to hash two scripts I've found into 1 functioning filter, however I'm still relatively new to vba and can't figure out how to get this working.

I have a form with 15 unbound text boxes (daily temperatures) and what I am trying to do after entering the temperatures into the text boxes the user clicks an add button which will add 15 new records into the temperature table
the code I have started off with is

which adds 1 successfully however if i repeat the code above for all 15 this Im assumming will create a potential bottleneck and slow the system down
is it possible to add all 15 records at once? do you think Im going at this the right way

I'm stuck and have no Idea how to start this, help would be nice
Here is what I am trying to accomplish, I have a Form that I input infromation into several fields (Including the Key field) that will create a new record in my table, Then I click a button on the form and it clears most of the data from the fields and allows me to create a second new record.
What I also want to see is a subform that shows all the new records that were created only while the form was open. Once the form is closed the subform is reset. If I open the form again, the subform will be blank and start listing only the new records i create in that session.
Is this possible? How do I even start this?
Thanks for your help. Please keep in mind this is only the second db i have created and I am not that great at writing code.
