Macro To Auto Filter - Show Records With Same Code
Jun 14, 2012
I have a form that has numerous fields, there is one field that is called the "Relationship Code" it gives any customers who have a certain relationship a 3 digit number. I would like a command button that you can press that will take the current record shown and filter their relationship code, to only show those records who have the same code. I know this can be done by going to the field>right clicking>and saying Equals " ". But I want a button with code that will do this automatically.
I am looking for a way of creating the following: I want to be able to click a command button and have it prompt the user for input. Then take the input and replace all cases of NA with that string in field B for all records. I would prefer to have no other prompts other that the user input and a success msg box. Can this be done?
I need the code for a filter or query which will show the past x (12, 24 etc) months worth of data. Each record has a date tag so i need a filter which will just show records for say the past 3 months.
I am having trouble getting a query or report to show only the most recent data.
We have salesmen that use a handheld data collector scanners to count inventory in stores. The scanner data is imported to a Access table. Each record line is one scanned item. I have a query with totals that counts the records and gives me a total count of each item at the store on that date.
I then need to filter the data to only show the most recent date. Using Max Date I get the most recent date but the count fields are showing totals for all dates. I am also getting the unique item from the earlier date in this query which I do not want.
Here is my data table: Inventory Scans from stores.
Scan Date Item Scanned location
1/1/2014 item123 Store ABC
1/1/2014 item123 Store ABC
......
Here is my Query with Totals that counts the item records:
Scan Date Item Scanned location (Item Scanned) count
1/1/2014 item123 Store ABC 2
1/1/2014 item 456 Store ABC 3
1/1/2014 item 789 Store ABC 1
2/1/2014 item123 Store ABC 2
2/1/2014 item 456 Store ABC 1
This is what I am trying to get - only the most recent date of counted items:
Scan Date Item Scanned location (Item Scanned) count
I m trying to make form which filters my records and generates a report..here's where I am
Code: Like "*" Or Between [Forms]![Form1]![Text6] And [Forms]![Form1]![Text8] & "*"
but this doesn't work I would like to show all records if textbox 6 is null and textbox8 is null this part of code works perfect but below but I'm struggling to get the between in with the code
Code: Private Sub cmdRunDataMacro_Click() DoCmd.SetParameter "prmMetalID", Me.cmbMetal DoCmd.RunDataMacro "Metal.GetMetalParameter" DoCmd.SetProperty txtTestMetal, acPropertyValue, [ReturnVars]![retPrice] End Sub
I have a Web Browser Control which displays the location of premise from a table using Bing. The Control itself isn't large enough to show the entire Bing page, so it has vertical and horizontal scroll bars.
It's vertical position is fine, but I'd like it to by default display from the far right hand side as opposed to the left. I'm guessing there's a way to set the ScrollValue (or similar) of the horizontal bar in code, but am unsure what to do. Or perhaps there's a really simple way and I'm missing it.
I've done quite a bit of searching, but keep coming up for solutions for List / Combo boxes etc.
I'm trying to implement a macro to filter through accidents to see if my company has already been hired on a particular case.
In the first form the user enters the date, location, and last name of one of the drivers. Then they click a button which opens a new form as a datasheet with accidents that match ANY of the three controls. Evidently, I need a filter that contains some form of a series of OR operators.
However, whenever I try any variation of a button that opens the second form and then applies the filter, I always get no matches.
I'm trying to hash two scripts I've found into 1 functioning filter, however I'm still relatively new to vba and can't figure out how to get this working.
I'm trying to use Allen Browne's Search Criteria:
with another snippete of code I found here:
Code: 'Purpose: This module illustrates how to create a search form, _ where the user can enter as many or few criteria as they wish, _ and results are shown one per line.
[Code]....
It's the date part I'm having trouble with, the rest of the search criteria work fine without the date, but I can't get it working when I try to modify and merge the date sections of each code.
Also I'm using a listbox for the "Yesterday";"Last 4 days";"Last 9 days" and not a combo box.
I can manually stop the AutoExec macro from running by holding down the shift button - how do you do it by VBA? I'm opening the db from Excel, and I don't want the Switchboard to display ...
How can I create a "Filter Button" on a form and filter my records? I create a textbox on a form and a filter button on the right. Then I click the filter futton, the filter function will search/match the content in the box through the datasheet. And then the results of the filtering will be pop up on the split form datasheet.
I found some code that lets me Filter a Report from a Popup Form. It uses 6 combo boxes with each box filtering my VehicleRecords table to the record I am looking for. The code for this can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q208529 I modified just a few lines so that it would point to my VehicleRecords table.
When I enter information into any one of the combo boxes I get a Run Time Error 13 - Type Mismatch, and then I am pointed to this section of code.
Basically what I am looking for is a way to set the criteria of a specific field in a query from VBA.
The reason why: I have one very large query that includes lots of fields from many tables. I want to make a "search form" that sets one or multiple fields to have criteria to narrow it down. You could select the field, say, serial number, from a drop down on the form, then enter a serial number and click a button that would refresh the form, showing the new query output. Then you change from "serial number" to "location" in the dropdown, and type in a location, and it would remove the criteria from the serial number field and add one to the location field. When you click the button it will refresh and show the new query output (all the items in the specified location).
Basically I am trying to create one form to search the output of a query in multiple ways. I would like to keep it to one form and not have to make multiple versions of the query with different criteria.
In my database i have a field called product code which the user enters the code as T0001, T0002, T0003 and so on for each record.
would it be possible when adding a new record for that field to auto fill the product code as T0004 for example, so the user doesnt have to type the code in all the time.
I have a QBF, and when user inputs the search criteria and clicks on print button, a report prints out based on that search criteria. I would like that report to include the search criteria as well. How can I do that?
I am not so good in Access, so please be as much specific as one can get, when suggesting a solution.
How do I get the second filter to show all the values and allow me to check which ones I would like to select? I cant seem to recall how to do this. I remember having to do it a while back.
I have a table with 5 fields (F1, F2, F3, F4, F5).
F1 has 3 values (v1,v2,v3) and the other fields have different entries depending on F1. ----------------------------------------------- F1 F2 F3 F4 F5 ----------------------------------------------- v1 f31 v2 f21 f41 v3 f41 f51
Is there any way to filter F1 to show only the fields which have a value?
(if I choose v2 to have shown only fields F2 (with f21) and F4 with f41
I am using a combo box to filter a 2nd form upon clicking a button. I posted on this topic the other month and was given some code that works. I am attempting to tweak it for another part of my database.I am receiving a Run-time error "3464': Data type mismatch in criteria expression.
