Anyone know how i can make a directory on my drive based on the date... for example if today is 11/28/2004, I want to make a directory called c:28-Nov-2004 (since we can't make a dir called c:11/28/2004) ...
I don't know how I would go about doing that using the MkDir function in vba..
I have a report that have a datebox(Short date) and a timebox(Short time) and also a box that contains numbers like 36:59 and so on. That number is hours and minutes, I would like to take the date, time and add my 36:59 and get a new date from that and put that in another box. The date and time is used as planned date and planned time for some work to happen. 36:59+planned time+planned date=should be planned finishing date and time. Does anyone know what I have to do, to make this happen ???
I have for some time now been fooling around with a database to keep track of several clinical trials Basicallly I have made 4 tables..2 which defines the project ( Project and visist), 1 that populates the projects ( patients) and 1 that bind the patients visits to specific dates ( appointment)
The trouble is that im Lazy :D and therfore dont want to enter the appointment data for all patients one at a time each time we get a new guniea pig since all thats diffferent is the dates he/she has to show up. Im hoping for some way to fill up my appointment table based on patientID and projectID alone.
SO this is my 4 tables... ( some unimportant fields left out)
The idea is to create a project and then add a set amount of visits to the project ( days when they have to come and get a blood sample taken) All patients involved in the project is likewise added in the Patients table and joined to a project.
Since the patients all have to come to a fixed amount of visits ( determined by the project) I was thinking I could make a form where I pick a patient from a combobox (select projectID,PatientID,PatientName) and then automatically generate a record for each visit in my Visit table where Visits.ProjectID = cboPickPatient.ProjectID and show them in a subform so I can enter the date they have to come. I hope that makes sense. ( preferably I would like to add the date also by just entering the first Visit date and the using the DaysToNextVisit to make the other visit dates or each patient, but thats a whole other problem :o )
My instinct tells me I have to do some sort of loop code but I havent figured out the details.
Can any of you guys lead me in the right direction before I loose all my hair in frustation??
This seems to me to be a pretty simple problem-making a recordset based on a projectID and the visits involved in that project but im just out of ideas:confused:
I am making a database that has to do with Preventive maintenance. Everything is going good and I came to a problem. There are recurring events. Some are weekly monthly quarterly etc all the way to 5 years. When I put in the task and a start date and the occurrence. So Say I put in a date of a task for today and its set to monthly I want the next record to be 1/13/14 for the task and go all the way up to infinity until a box is checked making it inactive.
I have created simple data base containing 2 tables connected each other and I wanted to make a form with fields taken from those tables and unfortunately it did not work and I got errors message.
Before I start to build the form do I need to create the query based on those tables and having the fields I need for the form? If yes, what sort of query, simplest one?
Hello buddies :D, do you have any idea how to make this work?
To select data that falls within this criteria of date range between cboDate and cboDate2 (fields on my form). The date in [tblJobDetails]![timeIn] come in this format "08/17/06 10:24 AM", but the cboDate/cboDate2 (takes in date only e.g 08/17/06) what i am after is to evaluate specific hard coded time in addition to the date entered, i.e. even tho, i haven't entered time on the cboDate/cboDate2, I want specific time hard coded where e.g If i select a date range of 08/17/06 and 08/18/06 on my cboDate and cboDate2 it should really be evaluating: 08/17/06 8:00 AM to 08/18/06 8:00 AM.
This is the criteria i curentlly have on my query in design view tha works perfect in selecting date only. ([tblJobDetails]![timeIn]>=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate] Or [tblJobDetails]![timeIn]>=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate] Is Null) And ([tblJobDetails]![timeIn]<=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate2] Or [tblJobDetails]![timeIn]<=[Forms]![frmPendingJobs]![cboDate2] Is Null) How can I incorporate 8:00am to 8:00am into my cboDate and cboDate2. What can i do to make this happen? Your kindness will be greatly appreciated http://www.naijaryders.com/forums/images/smilies/thankyou.gif
Hi, I've been working on a database to keep track of employee time off, It consists of the main table, a employee table, and a department table.
I had a form that our admin uses to enter the info for each employee.
They would select the name of the employee from a drop down, and then select the department that employee is in from another drop down. then they would select the days off and reason ect. Then when finished they would hit submit and this would be entered into the main table.
Well they just asked if it would be possible to make it so when they enter the employee's name, that the department would automatically be filled in for the employee.
Is this possible? I'm trying to think of how to do it, but not coming up with anything.
I am using MS Access 2007 and have a report which display the list of values (say 10 fields) from the basic SELECT * FROM table query.
I need to dynamically set the BOLD based on the particular value for the fifth field which was assigned from Query. if it doesn't match it should display normal.
E.g If Field_5 = "Agent" then Field_5.FontBold = True Else Field_5.FontBold = False End if
I tried the aforementioned code and it dont work. ALso i tried achieve it using below listed options.
Form 1: I have a combo box on my main menu(MenuMainF) called cboCompanyType with typical values 1,2,3,4,5,etc......
Form 2: I have a command button on my administration menu(MenuAdminF) called cmdDevelopment
My goal is to have the cmdDevelopment button of Form 2 be visible if cboCompanyType on Form 1 is equal to 1,2,3, or 4, but if it is any other value, then cmdDevelopment should be not visible.
My problem is the following: when I receive say 5 computers in a purchase form, I want to register the serial number of each of them in another form, bound to another table. If I receive 2 units in the purchase form, my user should only be able to input 2 records in the serial form (a continuous form), if we receive 3, then only 3 records,I cannot quite figure out how to build this second (serial number registration form), so that it refuses input after the correct number has been reached.
Table 1 has all the items I am trying to sell with sell by date after which I cannot sell this item. Then in Table 2 I have forecasted sales. So now I am trying to calculate stock consumption to see if I will be left with any stock that I cannot sell.
So now somehow I need to deduct sales forecast from my stock holding but it needs to go by date i.e. consume all stock for Item 1 with date 16/09 before moving to Item 1 with sale by date 23/09.
So based on the attached example, I can see that on 16/09 I will consume only 5 cases from sell by date 16/09 and another sale is 18/09. So that would give me information that I will be left with 95 items dated 16/09, which I cannot sell because they will be out of date.
Ideally I would like also to include the logic that if Item is out of date it would move to the next sell by date.
So in this case sale of Item 1 forecasted for 18/09 (94) would consume the whole stock (50) with date 23/09 and another 44 from date 01/10
For Item 2 I can see that units with Sell by date 30/09 will be consumed on 25/09 and I will start taking stock from next sell by date which is 14/10.
Is there a way to show the earliest and latest dates of a report generated by a non-date field?
E.g. I generate a report based on Food, and it'll list the days that this food is associated with. Is there a way to show the first and last day that appears in this report (i.e. the range of dates that the report shows based on the food selected)
I have a DB with Start Date (dd.mm.yyyy), End Date (dd.mm.yyyy) and Quarters. We have 4 Quarters (Jan-March, April-June, July-Sep, Oct-Dec) and extra columns of month (xxx) and year (yyyy) too.
The problem is the front end users have access permissions to modify the dates. if they change the start date and end date then they are manually gonna change other fields like quarter, month and year too (Which they don't want). The users don't need to manually update the column values for Quarter, Month and Year
For Example,
If the user modifies Start Date to: 22.05.2014 and End Date to: 24.06.2014 (then the quarter column should be fixed to 2nd quarter and month should be June and year should be 2014).
2nd Example: We need to consider the End Date for classifying the quarters, Month and Year
If the Start Date is: 22.05.2014 and End Date is: 24.12.2014 (then the quarter column should be fixed to 4th quarter and month should be December and year should be 2014).
The solution is when ever the front end user modifies the dates then automatically the quarter, month and year columns need to be changed.
Sample piece of Access data sheet with just 3 examples. Column names Start date, End date, Quarter, Month, Year.
I have a database which stores information relating to club members, which I'm in the middle of giving a bit of a facelift and one thing I want to automate is the calculation of the expiry date.
My memberships expire annually at the end of December and the expiry date is set as a default value within the table properties. This has to be manually changed every September (every new member from then pays for 15 months) to the following December.
Is there a formula I can insert in the defaul value field that will return December the current year if todays date is between January and August, and December next year if todays date is between September and December?
I am using the following expression to calculate a completion date for a project which is based on the due date. My problem that I am running into is when I get to a project that is due on a Tuesday, it returns a date for Sunday when it should be Friday.
Trying to filter a form based on a field with wildcard. My form has a txtCustFilter control where a customer's name can be entered in part or whole. The Customer's name is in PCCustomerName
This code works but, I'd like to make it case insensitive
Dim strFilter As String strFilter = "[PCCUSTOMERNAME] LIKE ""*" & Me.txtCustFilter & "*""" Me.Filter = strFilter Me.FilterOn = True
Hey all, i got another small problem with this bloody database!
The problem today folks is this, im making a booking system (well the booking is a small part of the overall system) so i have DateArrive, RoomID, and all the usual.
now what i want is to make a query that says if DateArrive & RoomID (Booking Table) then make RoomOccupied(Room Table) true
if that makes sense, i tried some in sql and got the date bit working, but wasn't sure how to go further so as to make it so RoomID is involved
(ill say in another way If a room is booked on a specific day i want to make Occupied true)
I am trying to make the + - (numpad) adjust the date of the current text field. The problem I am having is I believe the input mask intercepts the keypress and my keypress event is never fired. Here is my code:
Code: Private Sub LeaseDate_KeyDown(KeyCode As Integer, Shift As Integer)If (KeyAscii = 107) Then LeaseDate = DateAdd("d", 1, LeaseDate) End If If (KeyAscii = 109) Then LeaseDate = DateAdd("d", -1, LeaseDate) End If End Sub
Access makes the ding noise when I try and press + and - ...
I manage training for a large organization and am able to get a data dump that contains class end dates and class hours. Based off of those two, is it possible to determine a start date (excluding non-business days)?
For example, a 2 day class would be 16 'Hours' with an 'End Date' of Friday the 15th. Is there a formula that would give me Thursday the 14th as a 'Start Date?'
More importantly, if 'Hours' is 80 and the 'End Date' Friday the 15th, would it be able to give me a 'Start Date' of Monday the 4th? Can Access account for holidays?

I've been using Allen Browns method [URL] to copy form and sub form data, and it works perfectly after some adaptation.
It changes dates to today from whatever the date 'was'.. perfect.. however, as I'm still learning SQL, is there a way, to make the copied subform's date into today as well...this is my adapted code from the SQL part..
Code: 'Duplicate the related records: append query. If Forms!FRMREGISTERMain!frmJustSubRecordsDEPOSITS.Form.RecordsetClone.RecordCount > 0 Then strSql = "INSERT INTO [tblSplits] ( TopLineID, TransDate, Memo, Category, SubCategory, Credit, Debit) " & _
[Code].....
As I'm still learning, am I right in thinking that I'll use SELECT and/or WHERE somewhere in there?
