I have a form with command buttons on it (a menu) but I want the form to be full screen without hiding the taskbar. I can get the form to fill the screen with no problems, its just a matter of having the taskbar available to multi-task!!!
Also, is it possible to have a few forms open at once with each form appearing on the taskbar
Is there a way to make it so when you open a database the forms, tables, etc do not appear in the taskbar and just appear in the bottem right of access.
So basically, like already but without the taskbar tabs.
I have searched the forums but all I can find is code to hide the windows taskbar, when actually I want the opposite.
I have a form which I have set the following properties:
Pop-up = Yes Modal = No Control Box = Yes (Only while designing, will change) Max/Min = None
I have also placed code in the On Load event namely "DoCmd.Maximize"
When the form loads, it maximises as I would like but it also covers the windows taskbar, which is something I don't think my users would like at all!!! Any idea how to get it to still maximise ( as this hides the db windows) but not hide the taskbar?
Hey guys, We are running a mdb access file that spawns different 'windows' or forms if you will. We've had a request from a staff member that they be opened in different taskbar instances in windows xp. It does in windows 2k, however.
The only way of swapping forms at the moment is to click "Window" and then the form name.
how I can replace the MS Access icon in the windows 7 taskbar at the bottom of my screen with my customized one. I already added under the access options the form and report icon and was hoping that this may solve the issue. But my own icon just pops up on the title bar of the main access screen, forms and the reports.
Is there a way to hide the application title bar (including the min, max and close buttons) as well as the windows taskbar when Access is running? I have seen this done before where the form fills the entire screen - ie no controls or frames are visible.
I want to password protect the second tab control page, so I'm using this code :
Private Sub TabCtl0_Change() Dim strInput As String Dim ctl As Control ' Hide controls on tab until correct password is entered F or Each ctl In Controls If ctl.Tag = "*" Then ctl.Visible = False End If
[Code] .....
then to hide the controls in the first place, we do this using the Tag Property, and in the OnCurrent event of the form:
Private Sub Form_Current() 'Hide controls tagged with "*" until password entered. Dim ctl As Control For Each ctl In Controls If ctl.Tag = "*" Then ctl.Visible = False End If Next ctl End Sub
The password request and events works fine but when prompting for the password it still shows the second page items and info. so basically it is not hiding the tab.. How do I fix this
Anyway, some staff are not using the forms' menu buttons but are playing around with the Access toolbar (file, edit, et cetera). The administrator wants me to either disable that toolbar or hid eit from view. Any ideas?
I am compiling a database of my fire system 'engineers reports' by creating a form that is identical to the one that I print and give to the customer. I used combo boxes to look up system type details, from another table, after inputting the serial number. As these combo boxes can only produce one value I hid the arrows behind background coloured rectangles.
When I print the form the arrows disappear, the combo boxes expand by the width of the arrow and the last 2 digits of right-aligned numbers disappear behind my rectangles.
This form has over 200 controls (systems types, parts used numbers and quantities etc) and I need to print it on a single sheet of paper. I cannot afford to leave extra space between my controls. The only thing I can think of is setting the visible property of my rectangles to screen only, which is not ideal.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
hiding parts of a form if a option button is selected. There are two option buttons and two parts to the form. I would like each part of the form greyed out or made invisible depending on which radio option button is selected.
On my form frmEmployeeDetails I have a text field that is named SSN for social security numbers. I have used the mask on it so it automatically inputs dashes. I am attempting to hide all but the last four digits of the ssn. This is on the on current event of my form.
Code:
'Hide SSN Dim strLSSN, strSSN As String strLSSN = Right(SSN, 4) strSSN = ("***-**-" & strLSSN) Me.SSN = strSSN
On a form, what is the best way to hide a label or text box? I'm guessing that I can do a checkbox which would work for me and just write a macro to hide on a false value?
Hello,I was wondering if anybody knew if it was posslble to show an aproximated value of a field with decimal records. I would like to see only integer values on my form.
Here's another one on this subject... But can't seem to find the answer in the "Search" Currently I am using the "Call fSetAccessWindow(0)" method.... Well, all works fine until I start getting into reports. I have read in some post of other methods to hide Access. But I have yet to find any examples of the "easier way"..... Can anyone direct me to a post or link?? Thanks Curtis
Hi, I'm haven't much experience working with Access and I'm hoping someone out there can help me :)
I have a list of products with technical data in tables, however sometimes not all the products have the complete set of data. Is it possible to hide the cells where there is no data present when linked to a page?
Hi can you help. I am developing an access database for an alarm installation company. The database will consist of five tables (stock, supplier, customer, stocksupplier) all with forms.
The customer table holds data for three customer types business, private, caravan. Each customer type has different data stored for it for example the business customer has more than one contact address whereas the private has one.
The problems is on the form I do not want all the fields present as this would look a mess. Is there a way of clicking a radio button or choosing from a drop down list that would make the fields relevant to that customer type appear or grey out the fields that are not needed.
I would appreciate any help as the only alternative I can come up with is have them all on one form. I do not want separate tables as this would complicate the design. I hope this makes sense and thank you in anticipation Kind Regards :) :) Peter
I have a database where people are entering data into in constantly. Now I was told that someone else needs to go into the database and check integrity of data entered. There are a few buttons that I don’t want a “data verifiers” to click on, but “data entry folks” should be able to. Is there any way to may be password protect certain buttons and only be visible if a password is typed or something like that? I know how to password protect a form, but that’s not really exactly what I need and want to do. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Having trouble getting the code right to hide and unhide forms.
I have a main menu from which users can open other forms. When another form is opened, I want the Main Menu to be hidden, so it doesn't appear in the task bar.
For example, from the Main Menu Me.Visible = False DoCmd.OpenForm "Review frm", acNormal
However, from Review frm, I can't get the Main Menu to be visible again. I've tried Forms!Main_Menu.Visible = True but it says it doesn't exist. (Note the name of the form, Main Menu, has spaces, which is why it has the underscore between the two words. Don't know if this is relevant or not.)
I know this was mentioned and dealt with in another post, but I can't seem to find it. Basically, I have a couple of text boxes that I would like to hide, unless told to be visible by a command button.
I'm trying to do this to save space on the form.
Someone a while back had mentioned setting the height of the control to zero and also setting the control to canGrow. I tried this on a particular field and it didn't seem to work.
I have created a custom toolbar but the default (access) menu bar still appears every time I open the database. I can uncheck it under toolbars but this doesn't hold on re-opening. How do I do it?
