Missing Or Broken Reference

Apr 19, 2006

missing or broken reference to the file ‘plugin.ocx’ version 1.0, and also in file 'msoutl.olb version 9.2’

It says I need to fix these references to ensure the database or project works properly.

(The references shown as MISSING in the Visual Basic Editor are:

Microsoft Active X Plugin

Microsoft Outlook 11.0 Object Library)

Clicking OK lets me into the database and all seems to work fine. However, the last thing I want is for the whole thing to fall over and become corrupt so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

'Missing Or Broken Reference' Help Required.

Mar 10, 2006

Hi everyone,
Im building a database as part of a group project for uni. Its almost finished but recently on first opening the DB and clicking on a button on the form we get the following message boxes:

Firstly:

Your database contains a missing or broken reference to the file ‘OWC10.DLL’ version 1.1.

Click ok

and get...

Your database contains a missing or broken reference to the file ‘MSCHRT20.OCX’ version 2.0

When i click help it talks about deleting references but im not sure how to do this as im no expert by any means! :rolleyes:
I think this problem may have arisen because our accountancy department computers use access 2003 and the rest of the uni uses xp and we have been working on them both - oops! :(

Anyways i was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to fix these problems?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Missing Or Invalid Reference Call

Jan 10, 2005

Not sure if this is a access or windows problem but I thought I'd see if anyone has an answer. I have a database that I built to track certain requirements and generate reports and preformatted letters. On the win2k machineeverything works just as planned. When moved to the server, that same machine still has no problems. However when I move to a winxp machine (still using office 2K) the database statrts into the control panel like normal. Problem is as soon as I try to open the first form I get an error that the database is referencing a broken or missing file "outlctlx.dll". The only real code I have is the mousehookmod which to the best of my knowledge was written by Terry Kreft & Ken Getz. This is the only other thing I can think may be calling that dll, but can not find the call reference. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Weird Reference Error?

I get this error when I send the mdb file to another computer and open the mdb file?

Your database or project contains a missing or broken reference to the file 'IAIExplore.dll' version 1.0.

I checked my computer and that dll file is in my InterActual dvd player bin folder, and what that has to do with my mdb file I have no clue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Circular Reference Error

Mar 10, 2008

Hi,

I've created a db I plan on using for pricing out parts, the issue I'm having is that I'm getting a circular reference error.
The way my db is setup is like this Partstbl contains the information for all parts made. Some of these parts can have subassemblies and these parts will also be in the "partstbl". In another table called "Subassemblytbl" I choice the parts from the "parttbl". Parttbl has a one to many relationship with "subassemblytbl" The error happens when I created a query that was to calculate the part cost. This cost would then be displayed in the subassembly subform on my main form. I'm having some difficulty explaining this
if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it

Reference Is Not Valid FollowHyperlink Error

Sep 3, 2012

I'm creating a database with an Asset register which gives you a simple route to documents related to these perticular assets. My problem is when linking to Excel files. I use the FollowHyperlink method and reference to a Hyperlink in a row of the table. If this Hyperlink happens to be to an excel file (regardless of version) it generates an error stating "Reference is not valid". The odd thing is that the file opens, but is not maximised on opening. I have searched for weeks for a solution but can only find them for Pivot Table problems in excel.

My code is simply;

Private Sub FormName_ObjectName_Click()
On Error Resume Next
Application.FollowHyperlink [ColumnName]
End Sub

This works fine for any file that isn't an excel file. So my question is, what's missing or what needs changing to prevent the error from appearing. I have tried different compatabilities but have had no luck. I also tried a function called GoHyperlink, but had no luck in Access 2007.

Missing Operator Error

Jan 11, 2006

Below is the code that concatenates a pathway ('c:asset_captureimages) and a column value (c:asset_captureimages)to populate another column ([Carriageway].[Hotlink])

------------------------------------------------------------

Function Update_Image()

For Each tbl In CurrentDb.TableDefs

If tbl.Name = "Carriageway" Then

strsql1 = "[" & tbl.Name & "]" & ".[hotlink]"
strsql2 = "[" & tbl.Name & "]" & ".[position]"

'**** THE LINE BELOW WORKS****

'CurrentDb.Execute "UPDATE Carriageway SET [Carriageway].[Hotlink] = 'c:asset_captureimages' & [carriageway].[position]"

'**** THE LINE DOESN'T WORK WHEN STRING VALUE REPLACES COLUMN****

CurrentDb.Execute "UPDATE Carriageway SET [Carriageway].[Hotlink] = 'c:asset_captureimages'" & strsql2

End If

Next

End Function

--------------------------------------------------------

The module works perfectly when the column value is hardcoded as [carriageway].[position] but when a string is replaced as strsql2 then the error message "Run Time Error 3075 Syntax Error (Missing Operator) in Query Expression" is generated.

Any ideas gratefully received what seems a simple problem that is causing significant swearing and hair loss.

Thanks

Paul

I have included this before the requery:

Syntax Error (missing Operator) In Query Expression

Aug 27, 2006

I have an asp page which modifies articles in my access database.
I added a field in the db called "Blocco" which is a checkbox field.

The code (working) which the page used before was (I'm copying just the part that modified will cause the problem):

Code:SQLModifica = " UPDATE [Articoli] SET Articoli.Sezione = '"& FSezione &"', Articoli.Autore = '"& FAutore &"', Articoli.Titolo = '"& FTitolo &"', Articoli.Podcast = '"& FPodcast &"', Articoli.tags = '"& Ftags &"', Articoli.Data = '"& FData &"', Articoli.Ora = '"& FOra &"', Articoli.Letture = "& FLetture &", " If FBozza = "si" ThenSQLModifica = SQLModifica & "Articoli.Bozza = True "ElseSQLModifica = SQLModifica & "Articoli.Bozza = False "End IfSQLModifica = SQLModifica & "WHERE Articoli.ID = "& FID &" "If Session("BLOGAdmin") = False ThenSQLModifica = SQLModifica & "AND Articoli.Autore = '"& Session("BLOGNick") &"' "End IfSet RSModifica = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")RSModifica.Open SQLModifica, Conn, 1, 3Set RSModifica = Nothing

After adding a radio type field in the form called Blocco (with yes or no values, working like the existing field "Bozza") I've modified the code adding something to update the db:

Code:SQLModifica = " UPDATE [Articoli] SET Articoli.Sezione = '"& FSezione &"', Articoli.Autore = '"& FAutore &"', Articoli.Titolo = '"& FTitolo &"', Articoli.Podcast = '"& FPodcast &"', Articoli.tags = '"& Ftags &"', Articoli.Data = '"& FData &"', Articoli.Ora = '"& FOra &"', Articoli.Letture = "& FLetture &", "If FBlocco = "si" ThenSQLModifica = SQLModifica & "Articoli.Blocco = True "ElseSQLModifica = SQLModifica & "Articoli.Blocco = False "End ifIf FBozza = "si" ThenSQLModifica = SQLModifica & "Articoli.Bozza = True "ElseSQLModifica = SQLModifica & "Articoli.Bozza = False "End ifSQLModifica = SQLModifica & "WHERE Articoli.ID = "& FID &" "If Session("BLOGAdmin") = False ThenSQLModifica = SQLModifica & "AND Articoli.Autore = '"& Session("BLOGNick") &"' "End IfSet RSModifica = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")RSModifica.Open SQLModifica, Conn, 1, 3Set RSModifica = Nothing

The page itself is loaded with no errors but when the form takes action I get this:
Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'True Articoli.Bozza = False'.

why? I've just used the same code that worked with the field "Bozza" (which is a checkbox field too)

Sorry for my english

Queries :: Syntax Error (missing Operator) On IIF Statement

Jan 31, 2014

I'm using the following for a field in a query:

ITINERANT: IIf([Day and Time1] Is Not Null,[Day and Time1],IIf([Day and Time2] Is Not Null,[Day and Time2],IFF([Day and Time 3] Is Not Null,[Day and Time 3],IFF([Day and Time 4] Is Not Null,[Day and Time 4],IFF([Day and Time 5] Is Not Null,[Day and Time 5]," ")))))

I'm getting the error message: Syntax error (missing operator).

I'm not very good at using the IIF statement.

I have 5 concatenated fields that may or may not have info.

I want to display all of the info or if blank; show nothing in the one field.

Also, would I be able to have a return after each of the 5 concatenated fields?Not sure how to do that in this statement?

Modules & VBA :: Object Missing Error On Code To Apply Two Filters

May 12, 2015

I've got a form that takes the members from my members table and allows me to take attendance. I have it set up with toggle buttons in the footer (so we can see what class we're currently looking at) and I want to apply two filters when we click on a button. The two filters are "SS_Roll = Yes (or True)" and "SS_Class = AD1 (or whatever the class is)". I did some research and found one code for it, but now that I'm getting the missing object error and upon further research, I'm starting to think the code I found was only an excerpt. Below is the code I currently have. It highlights the first line when I hit debug.

Code:

Private Sub OptAD1_Click()
Table![MembersTable].FilterOn = True
Table![MembersTable].Filter = "[SS_Roll] = " & True And "[SS_Class] = " & AD1
