I am trying to connect to MS Access from MS word using the following code but getting the above error message:
Code:
Sub GetDataFromDataBase()
'allocate memory for the database object as a whole and for the active record
Dim myDataBase As Database
Dim myActiveRecord As Recordset
I am using the following code but when i run it produces the following error.
Run-time error '429':
ActiveX component can't create object.
then on debug it highlights the line
Set objOutlook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
I have searched online and already tried a suggestion to ensure that mictosoft outlook 14.0 object library is selected in the VBA references.
Code:
Dim objOutlook As Object Dim objMailItem As Object Const olMailItem As Integer = 0 Set objOutlook = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") Set objMailItem = objOutlook.CreateItem(olMailItem)
When I attempt to create a new DB - by performing Blank Database I immediately get a message 'Object Library not registered'.
If I 'OK' that box and try to create a table, I can do so - create Table in design view.
When I then try to Import external data - an excel file I get the message 'ActiveX component Can't create object'.
I have looked ob various sites for help and forum information regarding these errors but have found nothing conclusive, with specidfic regard to Access 2003.
The version has been loaded on my machine about 1 year as part pf Office Professional but this is the first time I have attempted to run Access itself.
Does any forum member have any ideas as to how this problem could be resolved.
I get this error everytime i try to use any wizard in access, i have uninstalled and reinstalled acces, i looked at the MSDN and i cannot find anything that will fix my problem. I have windows XP and office 2002 if that could help with the solution.
i got this error message when i tried to create a command button... i have to do it without the wizard... then when i tried to get one of those convenient access pics applied to the button i get an error pop up Object variable or With block variable not set
...the errors only just started today... well i played hooky on friday cause of a snow storm so i guess it might be a recent microsoft insecurity update...
running XP pro 2002 SP2 with Access 2003 SP2
:( ...maybe this is the latest microsoft challenge... ...uninstalling and reinstalling access or all of ms office does not remedy the situation... i searched the forums and cant find a solution  ...
I'm not sure if this is a Query problem or a Report problem, so I'm putting it in the General catagory. If I need to post it in one of the others, please point me the right direction.
I have set up the following:
Query A - Combines data from several tables Query B - Prompts for a text string and places it in a table Query C - Uses the text entered in Query B to select records from Query A. The field that is searched is a text field. Report A – Has an Open procedure that executes a macro that runs Query A. I also have a Close procedure that executes a macro that runs a second report based on Query A against a different table.
When I run the report on my desktop it works properly. I had a user try to run the report and she gets the following error immediately, prior to being prompted for the text.
Error:429;ActiveX component can't create object
I am running Office XP and she is running 2003 with SP2. She has not had problems with other Access reports in the same DB. Any ideas what is missing?
I'm using the below code in msaccess which used to work perfectly on the Win XP platform. I upgraded my OS to Win 7. It's now giving an error as "Runtime Error 429 - ActiveX Component Can't Create Object". I unchecked & rechecked all the library references.
Function GetNetWorkDays(startDate As Date, endDate As Date) As Integer Dim objFunction As MSOWCFLib.OCATP Set objFunction = New MSOWCFLib.OCATP GetNetWorkDays = objFunction.NETWORKDAYS(startDate, endDate) Set objFunction = Nothing End Function
Old OS: Win XP New: Win 7 Old msaccess: 2003 New: 2010 Old office: 2003 New: 2010
Okay, so I have tried to fix this for three days. When I try to create a button, combo or list box I get the message:
ActiveX Controls Can't Create Object. I have been through Internet Options/Security. I have tried reinstalling, I have tried to look into the registry. I even check Microsoft HELP and Mircosoft website and am getting nowhere. Can anyone please, please help solve this problem because it completely baffles me on how to fix this!!!
I had a search client form. This form used to work fine, so i haven't tocuhed it for a while. Basically what happens is you double click on the client and it clones it to the form.
However just a second ago i tested the form again and an error appears "ActiveX component cant create object". I've made no modifications to anything involving this form so im bit stuck for ideas.
I also received an error message telling me to check - Visual Basic --> Tool --> Reference. That says "Missing: Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library". I have browsed for the file but had no luck in finding a file to replace it.
I has install office XP but when I creat form I has problem: Active X component can't creat object I don't know to correct problem please suggest to me
Using Activex controls for capturing video from a webcam or similar. Just looking for a snapshot that I could then forward via email from access.
Ive seen commercial licenses for an activex control. The form Im imagining would have a window showing the live video with a snapshot button where we could store the image as a jpg for example and then generate an email forwarding on the image. It seems possible!
I'm using Access 2003. In "References" (Tools > References > Browse...), I've added in "Microsoft Windows Common Controls 6.0 (SP6)" (c:windowssystem32mscomctl.ocx).
I've then created/inserted an instance of the control "Microsoft ListView Control 6.0 (SP6)" on a Form ("MyForm") and given the listvew control the Name "MyListView".I wanted to decorate MyListView with some custom methods so I've created a new class module ("DecoratedListView") which contains a member field called "lvw".
I want 'lvw' to point/reference to MyListView, but I don't know what reference type to use in its declaration. Importantly, I also want to capture lvw's ColumnClick event.
I've tried:
Code: Public WithEvents lvw As Object Public WithEvents lvw As Control Public WithEvents lvw As MSComctlLib.ListView.2 Public WithEvents lvw As MSComctlLib.ListView Public WithEvents lvw As CustomControl
and none works when I
Code: set lvw = Forms!MyForm.MyListView
The first try (Object) doesn't even compile. I get the exception "Expected: identifier" The second try (Control) doesn't compile either. I get the exception "Object does not source automation events" The third try (MSComctlLib.ListView.2) doesn't compile and throws the exception "Expected: end of statement" The fourth try (MSComctlLib.ListView) compiles but fails at runtime with the exception "Type mismatch". Using TYPENAME() on the control returns "CustomControl". The fifth try (CustomControl) compiles but fails at runtime with the exception "Object or class does not support the set of events".
I can't believe I'm the first person to have tried to capture an ActiveX Control's events in a separate class.
I'm using this control to allow users to select a date as input to a subform. The control is working just fine, but I have a problem, I need to reset the value to today on certain events (for instance a reset button to reset the values back to today). I have tried:
Me!calThru.Today and Me.calThru.Value = Date and calThru.Value = Date
Hi, i am using the following code to open another access database. it works fine in fuilltime but when i install a runtime version I get an 'active x cant creat object' error. Does anyone knwo why this is?
Dim appAccess As Object Const strPathToBackup = "C:interim.mdb" Set appAccess = CreateObject("Access.Application") appAccess.OpenCurrentDatabase strPathToBackup appAccess.Visible = True 'do not show database appAccess.Run "Test" appAccess.CloseCurrentDatabase
We have an ActiveX grid control, 10Tec iGrid, written in VB6. One of its method, Group, used to group rows, raises the AfterAutoGroupRowCreated event so the developer can adjust the look and contents of every group row created during the automatic process of grouping.
When our ActiveX grid is hosted on an MS Access form and we call the Group method while populating the grid in the form's Open event, the AfterAutoGroupRowCreated event isn't triggered. But this event definitely works as expected in other development environments, and even in MS Access if we call Group from the form's Load event.
Is it a well know issue of MS Access, when any events of ActiveX controls aren't triggered while "executing" the Open event
I have an MS Access application which works fine until used with XP OS.
In XP if you open a report which is based on an ODBC linked table and try to send in RTF format as an attachement you get this error message:
MSACCESS.EXE - Unable to locate component This application has failed to start because BJABLR32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
The error only occurs for reports using ODBC tables as a data source for which you need to enter an ID and password. Other reports can be sent normally using Outlook etc.
I am just in the middle of writting a little bit of code that will go through each record in a query and export it into a word table. It's in the early stages but all was working yesterday. I've come to it this morning and ran it and now I get an error message;Run Time error 91: Object Variable or With Block Variable not set.
Code:
Private Sub Command15_Click() Dim MyDb As DAO.Database Dim rsLogin As DAO.Recordset Dim ObjHead As String Set MyDb = CurrentDb() Set rsLogin = MyDb.OpenRecordset("query here")
message "cannot find the object "." ". I have looked in the VBA for the Report I am working with and the form that has the underlying data and cannot find the rouge period! I am creating a label for payment envelopes that is gets its data from the form that indicates payments made
I am trying to use Access 2007 popup calendar to populate a combo box with a selected date. When I select the date on the calendar the above error appears.
Code:
Private Sub Calendar9_Click() 'Set Date to the selected date and hide the clalendar. MAssBDate.Value = Calendar9.Value MAssBDate.SetFocus Calendar9.Visible = False End Sub
When we use DoCmd.SendObject, the object name is always the same name of table, query or report. Can we customize object name to something else more descriptive? For example:
If I send the report "SalesPerSalesman" about John Smith, the object name now is "SalesPerSalesman.pdf" If i send the report "SalesPerSalesman" about Maryann Johns, the object name would be again "SalesPerSalesman.pdf"
However , the object name I would like "SPS_JohnSmith.pdf"and the report for Maryann Johns, I would like as object name "SPS_MaryannJohns.pdf"
Syntax DoCmd.SendObject ObjectType, ObjectName, OutputFormat, To, Cc, Bcc, Subject, MessageText, EditMessage, TemplateFile ObjectName Name of table, query, Report etc.
Not sure whats going on here, nothing on the table that stops this from working. I just get Run-time error "2448 You can't assign a value to this object" When the code runs.
Code: Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer) Dim rst As DAO.Recordset MySQL = " Select max(ID) from TblUserQry" Set rst = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset(MySQL) Myid = rst.Fields(0) + Int(Rnd(1) * 10) Me.txtMyID.Value = Myid
I am in the middle of creating a function that populates two unbound text boxes on a form and then uses those unbound textboxes in a query (Total of 3 unbound text boxes - 2 are populated from this function). The saved query object is working fine when I manually execute it (after the unbound text boxes have been populated). However, when I go to set the same query to a recordset I am getting the "Too Few Parameters. Expected 3." error message.
In the saved query I used the build function to use the unbound text boxes as part of the where clause. Below is the code I am trying to execute:
PHP Code:
Public Function Test()Dim db As DAO.DatabaseSet db = CurrentDbDim rst As DAO.Recordset Dim DtBegin As String''FInd the Begin dtstBegin = DateAdd("q", -1, DateSerial(Year(Date), (DatePart("q", Date) - 1) * 3 + 1, 1)) Dim DtEnd As String''find the end dateDtEnd = DateAdd("Q", DateDiff("Q", 0, Date) - 1, 0)
[Code] ......
The unbound text boxes are populated before the query is set to the recordset.
I have been using this export function for the longest time and today it is giving me an error:Object invalid or no longer set.
Code: On Error GoTo Err_cmdTest_Click 'Must 1st set a Reference to the Microsoft Office XX.X Object Library Dim dlgOpen As FileDialog Dim strExportPath As String Const conOBJECT_TO_EXPORT As String = "EXPORT"
I'm trying to display an image which is saved in the table as an OLE Object in a message box. The field with the object is "PowerCurve". This is what I'm trying to do. It allows me to get as far as clicking yes to view the second message box but then it results in an error when it tries to display the image.
Code:
Dim strDetails As String strDetails = DLookup("Details", "ExistingDeviceDetailsQ") Dim strCurve As String strCurve = DLookup("PCurve", "DeviceT", "DeveloperProduct = '" & Forms!DeviceF!D_ExistingDeviceCmb & "'") If strCurve = "No" Then MsgBox strDetails, , "Device Details"
[code]....
I get the error "Object variable or With block variable not set" on the line
Access 2013...Code that has been working is suddenly causing the error "Object invalid or no longer set". Line causing the error is marked.
Code: Private Sub CreateTable() Dim dbsDb As dao.Database Dim tblTemp As dao.TableDef Dim fldTemp As dao.Field Dim rst As dao.Recordset Dim rstRsF As dao.Recordset
