Modules & VBA :: Automation Error Library Not Registered Message

Jun 2, 2014

I am running Office 2010 but at one time also had Office 2013 installed on my Windows 7 64 bit OS PC. The first attachment (AccessProblem) shows the error message that I get when it hits the

Set olApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")

line. I get the automation error - library not registered error. The second attachment (Access2Problem) shows the references that I have.

Object Library Not Registered/ActiveX Component Can't Create Object

Jun 9, 2005

Hello

I am using Access 2003(11.6355.6360) SPI

When I attempt to create a new DB - by performing Blank Database I immediately get a message 'Object Library not registered'.

If I 'OK' that box and try to create a table, I can do so - create Table in design view.

When I then try to Import external data - an excel file I get the message 'ActiveX component Can't create object'.

I have looked ob various sites for help and forum information regarding these errors but have found nothing conclusive, with specidfic regard to Access 2003.

The version has been loaded on my machine about 1 year as part pf Office Professional but this is the first time I have attempted to run Access itself.

Does any forum member have any ideas as to how this problem could be resolved.

Thank You

Rgds

Error: There Are No Registered Wizards Of This Type...

Oct 18, 2005

In Microsoft Access 2000 I'm getting the following error message when I click on visual basic Event Procedure for the first time.

"There are no registered wizards of this type."
"Rerun Microsoft Access or Microsoft Office Setup to reinstall the wizards. If you want to preserve your security or custom settings, back up the 'workgrp file name here' workgroup information file.
For more information on backing up files, search the Microsoft Windows Help Index for 'backing up files'."

After I click OK on the error it goes back to Access. If I click the event procedure again visual basic opens up though VB the screen isn't what it suppose to be. The Object and Procedure pull downs at the top of the page disappear behind my toolbars and I can't get it to setup correctly. If I try to maneuver them correctly they still don't line up. This error seems to be messing that screen up.

This is only happening in one of my databases. In my other database the Object and Procedure pull downs at the top of the page are coming up correctly. If I start a new database that works fine too. I'm not sure why its doing it only on this database

I'm worried my VB is corrupted. Looking for any insight on what caused this and how to fix this.

Thanks!

Modules & VBA :: Document Could Not Be Registered / Unable To Open Macro Storage

Oct 31, 2013

I have a VBA program which is stored in an Access database. The program creates letters using Word template documents as well as new Excel sheets. When one of the users in my team undertakes this process she is unable to create the files (although she could before). The following error message occurs initially for the word documents:

"The document could not be registered word 2010. It will not be possible to create links from other documents to the document"

When I enter debug and attempt to run the code again the file opens but subroutine halts again and I get a different message:

"Could not open Macro storage"

The line of code which is identified for both errors is:

Set wdDoc = wdApp.Documents.Open(TemplateLocation)

Where wdDoc is the a Word.Document, wdApp is a Word.Application and TemplateLocation is the path for the template

I have already checked the following:

- 'Trust access to the VBA project object model' in the Trust centre is ticked and Macro Security is set to none.
- DCOM Server Process Launcher is set to automatic in Services (Local)

Modules & VBA :: Create Error Message On Form

Nov 28, 2014

I'm creating a DB that includes a form that "Customers" will fill out. The form (CustomerForm) has text boxs that must be completed. I'm trying to figure out how to make sure all text boxes are filled out. I have already created a Input Mask and selected Required in the "Customer" Table. There is also a Username text box I would like to have validated that is is not already being used and two password text boxes I would like to have validate against one another to ensure it was created correctly. Once all text boxes are properly filled out I would like the Button to Save customer data, close CustomerForm and Open ShoppingCart. This is the code I have created:

Code:
Option Compare Database
Private Sub Log_In_Click()
If IsNull(Me.CustomerFName) Then
MsgBox "Please Enter First Name", vbInformation, "First Name Required"
Me.CustomerLName.SetFocus

Modules & VBA :: Error Message When No Data Found In Query?

Jul 18, 2013

I have a search query that searches for different results based on 3 criterior. I have set up a form so that the user can input the text into the form and then once the Submit button (that i created) is clicked the query table will be shown.

My question is:

Is it possible to have an error message box appear when i click submit and no data is returned by the search query?

I'm hoping for the message box to say "No corresponding records to your search criteria. Do you want to try again?"

Then the options given in the message box are Yes (where they should be taken back to the search form) and No (Where they are taken to another form).

Modules & VBA :: Error Message On Creating Duplicate Record

Jul 25, 2013

I need to be able to produce an error on a form where the user attempts to create a new user that already exists. The error needs to be produced when the save button is clicked.

See below for the existing code on my save button which exists in form, 'frmAddEditUser':

Private Sub cmdSave_Click()
If IsNull(cboManagerID) = True Then
MsgBox "Please select a manager", vbExclamation, "Details Missing!"
Me.cboManagerID.Requery

[Code] ....

Currently, if I attempt to create a user with the same Payroll ID as an existing user, my 'User details saved' message box is displayed and to the user it looks like a new record has saved successfully which isn't the case.

I need a message box to appear displaying something like "Payroll ID n already exists" where n is the 'PayrollID' of the duplicate record. (Is it possible to combine a value from a certain control and ones own custom text?)

Note: PayrollID is a combination of letters and numbers, i.e. two letters, followed by 5 numbers, e.g. JD12345.

For reference, the table/field and and control are called, '[tblUser].[PayrollID]' and 'txtPayrollID' (on 'frmAddEditUser') respectively; it is from this field and control that I want the error to be produced if the user is entering the same values which are existing in 'tblUser'.

Modules & VBA :: Stop Error From Occurring After Aborting Email Message

Jun 21, 2014

I have a simple code for an access form button to send a email message.

It looks like this:

Quote:

DoCmd.SendObject , , , [emailaddress], , , [CustomerId], "Dear " & [CustomerName] & "We inform you that (...)"

When I click the button an email message window pops up, and if I do SEND it, everything ends well.

The problem:

If choose NOT to send it, and I close the email message window, an error pops up causing my database to close (I use access runtime).

Do you think I can add anything to my vba so this error doesnt occur?

Internal OLE Automation Error

Mar 2, 2008

The SQL statement

SELECT pendingdetailsDrum.ID, DateValue([orderDate]) AS DatePortion
FROM pendingdetailsDrum
WHERE DateValue([orderDate])=DateValue('1/2/2006')

is giving me Internal OLE Automation Error, however when I remove the Where clause it works.

Can someone explain why? OR...

The reason I am using DateValue is because the orderDate field has a date portion and a time portion. When I put a date in the criteria it is not found because of the time portion. I guess I could run an update query and change all the date + time to just date, however , I would rather use the SQL Statement using the DateValue function.

Thanks so much for your responses.

Automation Object Not Available Error-

Jan 16, 2006

Need a second opinion on this one, if someone has the time.

The boss is asking me about this:
Small db to track keys issued to individuals.

2 tables:
#1. ID, (with auto numbering for ID,) and basic name, SS #, etc.
#2. ID and Key number, Date Issued, etc, without auto numbering.

1 to many relationship (#1 to #2).
Cascadeing Update and Delete, and referencial integrity.

He has a form and subform based on a query, wants to do basic info entry on main form (for table #1), then tab to subform to enter specific info for (for table #2).

Problem is, when he tabs to the subform, he gets "Automation Object "Keys Issued" Not Available" error message.

I've found that in his querry, he is pulling the ID from both tables.
I can stop the error by eliminating the the ID from Table #1, using only the one from Table #2.

Is this just a fluke, or do you think I may have hit on the root cause? Any suggestions for problems to watch out for?

Thanks in advance,

BeckieO

Automation Error. Element Not Found

Mar 29, 2006

Hi,

I have an MS Access application installed on a number of machines and it is running fine on all of them except one.

On one of the server when I am submitting a form to search the database I get the error message:

"Automation Error. Element not Found."

Same version of MS Access on all machines. We are thinking of reinstalling MS Access on the machine to see if this would resolve the problem but just want to check if anybody else has any other suggestions???

Has anyone come across this problem before?

Any ideas or suggestions about how I might resolve it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Automation (query For Exporting To Excel) Error

Jan 5, 2006

Hi folks, I need your help.

Did any one get a error message like the one below:

Run-time error ‘3061’:
Too few parameters. Expected 1.

Basically I have a form with a command button and a combo box. The combo box's row source property is set to the following sql:

SELECT DISTINCTROW tblProjts1.intProjectID, tblProjts1.chrProjectName FROM tblProjts1 ORDER BY tblProjts1.chrProjectName;

I have a command button which runs the following procedure (Thanks, credit goes to madrav72):
Private Sub cmdSendToExcel_Click()
Dim db As DAO.Database
Dim rs As DAO.Recordset
Set db = CurrentDb

'Set rs = db.OpenRecordset("qryOne", dbOpenSnapshot)
Set rs = db.OpenRecordset("qryTwo", dbOpenSnapshot)

'Start a new workbook in Excel
Dim oApp As New Excel.Application
Dim oBook As Excel.Workbook
Dim oSheet As Excel.Worksheet

Set oBook = oApp.Workbooks.Add
Set oSheet = oBook.Worksheets(1)

'Add the field names in row 1
Dim i As Integer
Dim iNumCols As Integer
iNumCols = rs.Fields.Count
For i = 1 To iNumCols
oSheet.Cells(1, i).Value = rs.Fields(i - 1).Name
Next

'Add the data starting at cell A2
oSheet.Range("A2").CopyFromRecordset rs

'Format the header row as bold and autofit the columns
With oSheet.Range("a1").Resize(1, iNumCols)
.Font.Bold = True
.EntireColumn.AutoFit
End With

oApp.Visible = True
oApp.UserControl = True

'Close the Database and Recordset
rs.Close
db.Close

End Sub
qryOne:
SELECT tblProjts1.intProjectId, tblProjts1.chrProjectName, tblProjts1.chrBlrPropNum, tblMaxLoad.*
FROM tblProjts1 INNER JOIN tblMaxLoad ON tblProjts1.intProjectId = tblMaxLoad.intProjectId;

qryTwo:
SELECT tblProjts1.intProjectId, tblProjts1.chrProjectName, tblProjts1.chrBlrPropNum, tblMaxLoad.*
FROM tblProjts1 INNER JOIN tblMaxLoad ON tblProjts1.intProjectId=tblMaxLoad.intProjectId
WHERE (((tblMaxLoad.intProjectId)=Forms!frmReprtSelen!cb oProj));

My problem: When I run cmdSendToExcel_Click procedure with “ Set rs = db.OpenRecordset("qryOne", dbOpenSnapshot) “ it loads the excel and export the data to Excel without any problem. The Excel spreadsheet will show the rows as follows:
ProjtIdProjName Column3Column4 Column5, etc
8Bechtel xxxyyy
9WOPS aaabbb
11Spring zzzttt
12AgP mmmnnn

But when I run with Set rs = db.OpenRecordset("qryTwo", dbOpenSnapshot), I get the error
“Run-time error ‘3061’:
Too few parameters. Expected 1.”

I even tested the qryTwo using a separate command button with the following code on the click event:
stDocName = "qryTwo"
DoCmd.OpenQuery stDocName, acNormal, acEdit
and it produces the single row based on the projectId selected on combo box (as shonw below in datasheet view):
ProjtIdProjName Column3Column4 Column5, etc
8Bechtel xxxyyy

Does any one have any clue what this error 3061 is? Please help. I am struggling almost a week to figure this out, NO LUCK.

Thanks for your time and help in advance.

Shan.

Modules & VBA :: Word Automation From Access - Tables

Aug 1, 2013

I have just started to develop a database that will export data directly into a word template. I have used Word automation quite a lot but I'm new to trying to automate Word from Access.

It's going OK at the moment, I have got the db to open up the template, write data and then close. My objective is to add the data to multiple tables within word. So I have created several tables in my word template and then tried to select these tables and write to the them. Everything is thing for the first table but for any other table I get an error message saying that the member of the collection doesn't exit i.e. the table isn't there. I select the table using:

Code:
objWord.selection.tables (2).select

I then used:

Code:
objWord.selection.tables.count

To show how many tables were in the document and it doesn't matter how many there are, it always says there is 1 table.

why it can only see 1 table and what I can do to get around it?

Modules & VBA :: Automation - Create Billing Periods For Project Duration

Nov 19, 2013

I developed a finance tracker database for tracking project revenues and costs (forecast and actual amounts). I have a form where we enter a new Work Order in the DB. This Work Order form has a continous subform where we create all the billing periods needed for the life of the Work Order. Once the billing periods are created (opened) we can then add our revenue and cost forecasts for each period. We have a Billing Period lookup table that has our billing periods with their respective start and end dates (which usually begin around the last week of a month and end about 3 weeks into the next month).

For the purpose of this question, lets say we only enter the required WO_Number and WBS_Code (Composite key) and the Work Order Start_Date and End_Date. I want to click a button to runs some code to automatically create all the billing periods for which their start and end dates fall into the Work Order start and end dates.

For example, say a Work Order starts on 5/1/2013 and ends on 7/31/2013

The billing period dates in the Billing Periods lookup table are as follows:
May-13 ---> 4/22/2013 - 5/19/2013
Jun-13 ---> 5/20/2013 - 6/23/2013
Jul-13 ---> 6/24/2013 - 7/21/2013
Aug-13 ---> 7/22/2013 - 8/18/2013

Then we would need the following billing periods created in the Work Order subform:
May-13
Jun-13
Jul-13
Aug-13

I don't even know where to start on this. Is it possible to automate this process with the setup I have? If so, how would I structure the VBA code/logic to use the billing period lookup table and create entries in the subform for all the billing periods that fall into the duration of the Work Order.

The attached DB is a stripped down version with only the tables and forms needed for this problem.

Reserved Error (-1517); There Is No Message For This Error.

Mar 31, 2006

Does anybody know what this error message refers to?

"Reserved Error (-1517); there is no message for this error."

It just started happening today, and I haven't even made any changes to the database. It occurs when I hit a button I have to run a macro.

the macro does the following:
1) Shows all records
2) Requery
3) ApplyFilter.
The Where Condition for the filter is:
Right([tblContracts].[JobNum],4)=Right([Forms]![FrmContProc].[txtFindJobNum],4)

The weird thing is that it only occurs if the Form window is taller than 1/2 of my viewable area. If the Form window is 1/2 the viewable area or shorter, it works OK. This was running fine earlier today, but about 4:00 pm (03/31/06) this started happening.

If anybody knows what this error means, or how to get rid of it (I really need to use this window in full-screen) then please let me know.

-Thanks, Sean
