I've got a continuous form, with a button (cmd1) on each record. Each record has a unique primary key, RecordID. cmd1 is clicked to open a form (frm1) based on the RecordID using the following code:
I am using VBA in Access 2013 to make a PowerPoint presentation using data from the access database. know if it is possible to use Access VBA to create a button in the presentation that runs a procedure itself?
I have a contineous form with a combobox for each record and i have a button to select the first item in the combobox then to refresh the list in the combobox .I want to creat a one button to select the first item in the combobox then refresh the list then go to the next record and select the first item on the list
Hi all, I have a query to recall all the events related to a certain employee by running a query and inserting the staff number, I then have a form showing the details of all employees; what I need is to add a button on the form that runs the mentioned query without having to insert the staff number again as the form is already showing that employee. Thanks Marco
I am having trouble making a command button do what I want. I have a subform within my form, but I only want it to appear when I click the button. I tried using the wizard but there is no option to open subform, only open form. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
On Error GoTo Err_Command124_Click Dim stDocName As String Dim stLinkCriteria As String stDocName = "PRINTSQUARE 1" DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, 3, , , , 4
An command button would open a form to display some query result, and how could I do something after user exit that form!! I have tried to put some action afater the Docmd and EXIT_COMMAND124_CLICK:, both didn't work!!
In the form1 , I have a listbox1 with 2 columns. The values get added in the listbox using vba. Now I want to Edit the listbox values in case user enters something wrong. So when the user selects a listbox item and then EDIT button then form2 gets opened. And the textbox1 of it stores column1 of listbox1 value and textbox2 stores column 2 of listbox1 value. So the user canb make changes in the textbox values and then press SAVE button . Now I want the code that will make those changes in listbox1 of form1 and unload form2 then.
Could someone tell me if I need to break this select statement down? I'm running into problems with the DMax statement since it requires double quotes around it's arguments. When the parser hits the first argument, it closes the string like it's supposed to, but not the way I want it to.
In essence, the query returns 4 fields: unique ID, week number, computed score (TotSum), and the computed handicap (which is half the difference between your score and the high scorer):
Quote: strSQL = "SELECT tblRoster.HEDR, tblScores.WeekNo, " & _ "[A1T1]+[A1T2]+[A1T3]+[A2T1]+[A2T2]+[A2T3]+[A3T1]+[A3T2]+[A3T3] AS TotSum, " & _ "Round(((DMax("[TotSum]", "[qryHandicap]") - [TotSum]) / 2) + 0.1) AS Handicap " & _ "FROM tblRoster LEFT JOIN tblScores ON tblRoster.HEDR = tblScores.HEDR " & _ "WHERE (((tblScores.WeekNo) = " & inpWeekNum & ") And (TotSum > 0)) " & _ "ORDER BY TotSum DESC;"
What would the proper syntax be and/or is there a better way to obtain this information. After acquired, it is being salted away in a table which is recomputed after each competition.
Thanks for the input.
-Brian.
p.s. I know storing computed fields is a big no-no, but if you do not compete in a given week, the handicap from the last time you participated is used. This table will store the participants handicap as well as the last competition they were in. It seemed easier this way.
I've rebooted my copy record button and just used the macro wizard for now, it seems to work as far as I can tell but there is something strange about it.
I've added in some text boxes so I've got some confirmation, but when I click this copy button I get the following error;
"The command or action 'RecordsGoToNew' isn't available now."
I am writing an application for my personal use. I have 2 Access databases, one contains the data tables and the other has the forms, queries, reports, etc.
So far, I have been able to use the queries in the Row Source property of my form objects to accomplish what I want to do. Now I want to have a button that appends records to a table, the data in the table comes from several different controls on my form. After doing this the button should requery another control to display the new records added.
The OnClick event for the button allows me to use a Macro builder, Expression builder or Code builder. If I choose to use DAO in VBA code to append the records, do I have to define the database to create a database object to use even though the database is already open? Can I use a Macro to do this? Can a macro reference the data that is in the controls on my form?
I've created a simple database, with tables, forms etc but I've got stuck when I've tried to insert a 'Button' onto the HOME page which when pressed will display an invoice and give you the option of emailing to client or printing.
I think I've gotten messed up in my relationships or the macros which I've copied from another access template.
on the home screen, I click 'new quote' then 'view quote' when the window pops up and then when it tries to generate the invoice I get the error
I have a table to store "issues" with fields Issue name(text), target date(date) and status (combo box-active & pending statuses). default status for new issue is active. when clicking a button i want to change the status of every record to "pending" status (combo box value should be pending) if the target date<current date.
i already make this sql for dlookup table for may insert button, all going good, but when i'm going to make double command with different msg box for different criteria, it going fail
1. This my Working code:
If Me.txtidborang.Tag & "" = "" = (DLookup("NoGerankod", "HutangKeseluruhan", "NoGerankod='" & Me.txtnogeran & "'")) Then MsgBox "Grant Number Invalid", vbOKOnly Me.[cbostatuspembayaran] = "Geran Negatif" CurrentDb.Execute "INSERT INTO Januari (bla..bla..bla..) End if
2. This my not working code:
If Me.txtidborang.Tag & "" = "" = (DLookup("NoGerankod", "HutangKeseluruhan", "NoGerankod='" & Me.txtnogeran & "'")) Then MsgBox "Grant Number Invalid", vbOKOnly Me.[cbostatuspembayaran] = "Geran Negatif" If Me.txtidborang.Tag & "" = "" = (DLookup("NoMatrikkod", "HutangKeseluruhan", "NoMatrikkod='" & Me.txtukmper & "'")) Then MsgBox "This Student still have debt ", vbOKOnly Me.[cbostatuspembayaran] = "Geran Aktif"
CurrentDb.Execute "INSERT INTO Januari (bla..bla..bla..)
End if End if
Q: How can i combine two dlookup together for different msg box?
I have inserted a function via a module at the beginning of a Macro using the RunCode action:
Function Msgbox_Yes_No() Dim Response As Integer Response = MsgBox(prompt:="Select 'Yes' or 'No'.", Buttons:=vbYesNo) If Response <> vbYes Then End If End Function
However, it doesnt stop the macro from continuing on its way to delete a load of records if the user chooses no.
I have a form that opens when you initially open the MS Access file...
This first form posts session and user ID data to a sessions table, then closes itself and opens an end user form (i.e. the main form in the application)
It's work just fine for many weeks, up until a few minutes ago. Now, when I open the MS Access file I get this error message:
Run-time error '2501':
The OpenForm action was canceled.
When I choose "debug" from the error message, it's showing me that the error happens here:
Code: Public Sub CloseMeAndOpenMain(frmMe As Form) DoCmd.Close acForm, frmMe.Name DoCmd.OpenForm "0100_0000_STRAT_AND_REQ_ASSEMBLY_ECs_LISTING" End Sub
The thing is, I can then walk through the code with no issues (i.e. when I hit F8, it runs...)
Also when I open the first "sessions" form from inside MS Access (as opposed the file open feature) it runs just fine and opens the main end user file without any issue.
I only get the error when I initially open the first form from the file...
I'm trying to setup a process of opening a form, saving to a location, emailing it as a PDF, killing the PDF, move onto the next form - rinse wash repeat until done. The below works fine on a single click, however if I try to set it as an event timer of loop, I get an error saying: This action cannot be carried out whilst processing a form or report event.
Do Dim outputFileName, Ref As String Ref = Vici_URN outputFileName = CurrentProject.Path & "Claim PackagesCICA" & Ref & " - " & Format(Date, "yyyyMMdd") & ".pdf"
I have a multi slect list box (simple) and I need to find and select an item using vba - e.g., the bound column is the ID field and I need to select a specific ID (which will be different each time) as opposed to selecting the 100th record for example. How do I do this?
Whenever I double-click a graph in a form that is being viewed it opens up MS Graph in edit form. This is confusing/ugly/etc and I don't want it to do that.
I tried adding some code to the double click event to make it do some other action (bringing up some graph modification tools I created), but as soon as those are closed MS Graph will then open up in edit form.
How to turn this off? It's incredibly unprofessional.
