Modules & VBA :: CMD Button To Clear A Table Column
Mar 26, 2015
I'm currently making an Experience Statement for my company. In one of the forms I've created I an Industry sort that is weighted and connected to a table so that it'll show a report based on the numbers provided IE. 1-5 One being shown first and a blank statement not showing on the report at all.
I have the report function working correctly the only thing I would like is a cmd button that clears sort table of numbers so that it doesn't show anything and can start fresh. What VBA code shall I use?
I was thinking something along the lines of this, but it's not working.
Dim s as String
s = "UPDATE All_Projects_Sort_Table SET Industry Sort = Null;"
CurrentDb.Execute s
Requery
I have had to copy a column of dates to a new column to extract the month and be able to make subtotals based on each month.Now I am trying to tidy up the column by removing all the cells containing the month and leave behind the subtotals.
I have got a little way there using:
lastrow2 = Range("A1").End(xlDown).Row With Range("A1:A" & lastrow2) Set RngFnd = .Find(Total). Set rngDelete = .ColumnDifferences(Comparison:=RngFnd) rngDelete.ClearContents
But it only clears the cells down to the first subtotal so how can I get this carry on?
Alternatively I could use code to find the subtotal, and then cut and paste it into the next column over if that would be easier?
I have an append query that adds data to a table in another database, but I want it to replace the data every time it's run. How do I clear the data before running the append query? The databases are not linked, and I don't want them linked.
I'm new here and I have a question: In my db I have a yes/no tick, now I want to create a button that clears out all the ticks in that specific column, possible? To clarify: I have an address db with an gift table (tbl_gift) and a yes/no parameter for, lets say, 'did they gave me a present with christmas?' (col_gift). Naturally I want to clear their records before next christmas, now instead of going through all the records and remove the tick, is there a fast-one-button-click solution for this?
Thanks in advance! Paul (btw: sorry for my English, I'm Dutch and damn proud of it!)
I'm trying to create a search form with drop down boxes to select criteria.
I would like a "Clear Form" button that removes any data on the form to start a new search with. I have the following command in an "on click" event. But when I use this, it does clear the form. But from then on out, I get no results from my form. Even submitting the form with every entry blank, I get no results, when I know I have data in the form. I verified with my tables that the data in them didn't get deleted by using the code to clear the form.
From what I know, this should only clear my form, not cause it to mess with results after it's used to clear the form once. I've even deleted this line of code from my database itself and I still get 0 responses back when I search.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong, or is there a better way to clear a form with a button to click on?
I have a command button (cmbBarcodeEnter). After update i want the it clear itself of text and the be ready for the next barcode to be entered. At the moment the button updates and then tabs to next button and leaves the text in the cmbBarcodeEnter button.
Using Access 2013.I have a Search Form with a Run Query button. I would like to add a button that clears the criteria entered into the search text boxes. Right now to change the criteria I have to manually delete everything entered, closed the current query it had open then go from there. I have tried using the command button wizard, form operations, then refresh form data. When I click that button a window pops up "The command or action 'refresh' isnt available right now".Is this not the correct way to set up what I need? What other options should I look into for setting this up?
I'm trying to use VBA to update a new column in a table with info I already have in another table.The table I want to update is an inventory details table, it has around 25,000 records. I added a column called "UnitCost", of course the column is empty for all 25,000 records so I would like to fill it easily using DoCmd.RunSQL "UPDATE" feature.
I use that through-out the program however I'm unable to connect the dots for this one.What it needs to do is update "UnitCost" in "InventoryDetails" from "Products" where "InventoryDetails.ProductNumber" = "Products.ProductNumber"
The "Products" table has all the different unit cost, it just need to be placed in the "InventoryDetails" table for every record. Of course product1 needs products1 unit cost and product2 needs products2 unit cost, etc.
I am importing different excel sheets into Access dB using a file dialog. The importing works fine however, I would like to rename the tables once they are imported to the name of the first column heading. Where exactly would I ad the name change at in this code?
#' Open the EXCEL file and read the worksheet names into a collection Set colWorksheets = New Collection Set objWorkbook = objExcel.Workbooks.Open(StrFileName, , blnReadOnly, , _ strPassword) For lngCount = 1 To objWorkbook.Worksheets.Count colWorksheets.Add objWorkbook.Worksheets(lngCount).Name
I am designing a project in which there is a form and on that form there is a textbox and Browse button. With browse button you can select a file from the dialog box and that file path will appear in the textbox. This part has been done as below:
Code: Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() ChooseFile End Sub Sub ChooseFile()
Dim fd As FileDialog Set fd = Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogFilePicker)
[Code] ....
Now the next Part i.e Part2 in which we have to see the references present in Column D of the "Summary" worksheet of the workbook whose path is present in textbox1 and check if they match with any of the references in field "Ref" of the Access table named tblLiterature.
If value in column D matches with Ref field of the Access table then change the status field of the Access table to the corresponding columns A,B,C named as "Withdrawn","Obsolete","Updated". that means if the column A of the corresponding Reference is Y then change the status field to "Withdrawn". If column B is Y then change the status to "Obsolete" and if column C is Y then change the status to "Updated".
Please see attached the workbook as this kind of workbook will be searched against Access table .
I have a form which has a combobox called Task_Ref which looks up values in a table column.
I would like to be able to set the tickbox value of tickbox called P1 to True if the combobox contains the word "test", each entry on the combobox selection may vary such as:-
Test number 1 Yesterdays Test
As long as the word "Test" appears I would like the above to happen?
I was thinking of something along the lines of:-
If InStr(Task_Ref.Value, "Test") > 0 Then P1.Value = True Else P1.Value = False End If End Sub
I am looking to generate a total number of a given column based on two criteria.I would like a label (or textbox if necessary) to display a given total of "Active" devices based on a given month.The table name is "Blackberry" and the specific columns I would like to check would be "Activated?" and "Registration Date". I'm not sure if I should be using a dsum or dcount and the error i keep getting is a type mismatch.an active device would have the text value of "Yes.
Dim advalue As Integer advalue = DCount("[Activated?]", "Blackberry", "[Activated?]=yes" And "[Registration Date] > #01/01/2000#") lblad.Caption = advalue
using Ms access 2010.I have two text boxes where depending on what is entered on the first the 2nd disabled.that works fine but if I make a mistake and enters a value on the 2nd while it is enabled and return back to the first and enters a value which disable the 2nd, it disable it ok but keeps the value and even save it to the table.
Private Sub q300_AfterUpdate() If Me.q300 = "1" Then Me.q300_1.Text = "" Me.q300_1.Enabled = False Me.q301.SetFocus Else Me.q300_1.Enabled = True End If End Sub
I have got a form with a couple of dlookups on it, when they return an error it pops the debug message up and if there is a value in the field already it just leaves that value there.
How can I suppress the message and clear the field and move on to the next line of code?
In sheet 1, In column A all the Batch numbers are present. So I want to check if each of these is present in Access table named "tblmain". If its present then display its corresponding Policy number in Column B of attached workbook.
I need to input a string into a column named "EventType". The code should first check if the column "Agent Name" contains any strings. If there is none, it will input "IBM Director" into the EventType column.
Once it has looped through the agent names, the code will then loop through the Details column and input into EventTypes based on what is displayed within the string.
These are the codes that I am using to achieve this, however nothing is being input into the EventType column.
Code: Private Sub Command11_Click() Dim dbs As DAO.Database Dim rst As DAO.Recordset
Set dbs = CurrentDb Set rst = dbs.OpenRecordset("Final")
[Code] ....
I think the problem lies with the code that checks the agent name. When I removed it, it managed to populate the EventType column based on the details. But I still need to find out how to check the agent name too.
I have three cascading combo boxes. How can I program a button to record the PK's from these combos into a table, but only if those values don't already exist.The 3 combos are circled in red and I want to record those values into tblJewelryInventory (circled in dark blue).
I've put the following Function together to clear out unwanted bits before exporting as csv. I was just wondering if there's a way of holding the table names together with a total count of each item replaced? I wasn't sure if these were stored and could be returned?
Code: Public Function ClearCommas() On Error GoTo ClearErr Dim db As DAO.Database Dim tb As DAO.TableDef Dim fld As DAO.Field
