Modules & VBA :: Change Check Box Values Of -1 To YES And Then Fill Word Template
Jul 26, 2013
I have the following VBA code that auto populates a word template:
Private Sub Command24_Click()
On Error GoTo ErrorHandler:
ErrorHandler:
[Code].....
The code executes flawlessy but there are three values that are based off check boxes set as YES/NO (EMPLOYEDATREGISTRATION, EMPLOYED and FRINGEBENEFITS). These values show up as -1 for YES and 0 for NO.
Is there anyway to add code to mine that would allow me to change these values before they are sent to the Word template?
I have info on my access form which is located here....
Code : Forms![Front Page]![Site 2 Owner]
and here
Code : Forms![Front Page]![Postcode S2]
I would like to export this information into cells B2 & C2( individually and respectively) on the excel spreadsheet which I have saved as a template here...
Code : C:UsersmedesktopAutoExcel Auto
Is this easily achievable? To be honest I will be using it to fill in about 12 cells but how it would be done for the first two i can just modify it as necessary.
I'm using the below to merge an access form into a word template (it's a starter for 10).
That works fine. What I need to do is save the word template as HTML so I can then upload it to my website.
Dim wordApp1 As Word.Application Dim docPath1 As String Dim fileName1 As String Dim PageName As String PageName = Forms!Frm_Page_Create![Page] docPath1 = Application.CurrentProject.Path & "Merges"
I'm doing a project for my work. I created a few reports in Access. Some of these reports are simple graphic bars. How can I insert these reports into a word document template?
I am working in Access 2013.I'll be performing a series of inspections at a number of intersections for a small community. The data being captured is consistent from site to site and lends itself to a database application, and what I would like to do is the following:Use forms to capture the data.Generate a report to preview the output for a single record. I may ultimately decide to set the report datasource to a query.Attach a macro to a button that exports fields from that record to a template based in MS Word. The first two bullet items I can handle with my limited Access capability. Each file has to be individually reviewed and saved, and each file will ultimately contain an electronic signature.
I have a form with fields that contain the address/postcode etc of the person in question, and I also have a template letter that needs to have said persons address/postcode etc at the sending stage after a button is clicked.
I have a form that is a datasheet. it contains multiple records. One of the fields in that datasheet is a combo box. I would like to make it so when I select a value from the combo box it changes all the values of the other records in that column/field to what was chosen from that combo box. is that possible?
Hi I have a database and I want to basically use table fields to load into a Word template and I want this done via code, i.e a button....any help very much appreciated!
i have a form and was wondering if it was possible to take some of the fields and drop them into a template word document from inside access. so as to create a button that when clicked opens up the template and transferes the wanted form data.
any idears how to automate this process would be greatly appreciated
I am creating a db for my work place that records incidents that take place. I am a novice at Access but I have made different tables, queries, forms and reports and they all work.
I was wondering if there was a way to extract data that a user enters into a form and then use that to populate a word template *without* coding using VBA? I am really a beginner and not confident with VBA at all. I have read the forum and that seems to be an option (but would rather something else if possible!)
I have my word template set up such that some data is copied from the open form into the document and some data is taken from a table which is created from a query based on the content of the form (the record number). This works well HOWEVER (there's always a however isn't there  ) where two users click on the button at exactly the same time or within a very short space of time the query only runs once and either the database crashes (bad) or the document is created for the second person with the wrong data (very bad).
How can I make it so that only one person can run the query at a time (ideally build in a delay in processing so that the query will run for them when the first person has finished...failing that a message to say please try again later)? They will always be working with a different record.
I'm a bit stuck as to what to search for in the forum for an answer to this so haven't really searched.....sorry :(
I was thinking today if it is possible to fill Access reports based on a specific Word template? I don't want to populate a Word file with Access data as users of my app might not all have Word. Or is there another solution using a WYSIWYG editor where users can format everything according to their needs? That would be fantastic.
I have a bit of code that uses controls on a form to batch add records to the tables. Before the code executes, it needs to do a check to make sure that all of the needed data has been supplied.
Code:
If IsNull(txtDateAdded) Then MsgBox "Please supply the date that the Label record was created" Exit Sub Else If IsNull(cboRecordCreator) Then
I have got like subform which I think is the tech term I use it to filter dates on field "date raised" and open's a report depend on date's entered in txtstartdate and txtenddate it works perfectly but I need to add some check boxes to check other field's are true/false ...
Code: Private Sub cmdPreview_Click() Dim strReport As String Dim strDateField As String Dim strWhere As String Dim lngView As Long
[Code] ....
I need to add code to the text in red well I'm guessing
here goes with what I would like to add job cancelled1 check box name field name= job cancelled job on hold1 check box name field name = job on hold void property1 check box name field name = void property
E.g. if I put date range in my date boxes and tick job cancelled show all record in that date range cancelled same with job on hold and void property
here some code I did but wont work as it not in the same strwhere above
Code: if me[job cancelled1] = true then strwhere = [job cancelled] = 1 'field name else strwhere [job cancelled] is null end if
Some how need to add the strwhere to the code above ...
I'm trying to write some Code with the target to take a value from a textbox (out of a form) and a pregiven value (in this case = 2) and enter them in a new record in a table. But only if there is not already a record with the exact same combination of these to values. When done, the same button should proceed you to the next form (but this code is not already implemented in the fragment below) even if no values are added because they already exist in this combination.
Code: Public Function GetID_PatientStudiesGroup&() GetID_PatientStudiesGroup = [Forms]![frm_PatientStudiesGroupTZP]![ID_PatientStudiesGroup] End Function Private Sub BPRS_T1_Button_Click() Call GetID_PatientStudiesGroup& Dim strSQL As String
[Code] ....
As you can see, I tried to use a function to refer to the value out of the form, because I didn't find out how to refer to a form in an SQL Code.
Just to give you a better overview: The table where the information should be added is named "tbl_PatientStudiesGroupTZP". The form where you find the Textbox "ID_PatientStudiesGroup" (with the value I need to transport) is named "frm_PatientStudiesGroupTZP". Every part (except the WHERE NOT EXISTS part) worked perfectly for itself, but not when thrown together.
I have run into an issue with a basic DLookup. The database has grown in size and now we could have multiple entries, but I want it to return a certain one. So the information could be in it three times. Of course DLookup stops after the first one. How do I get it to loop to check the entire table? Someone mentioned to me to use a recordset, but how to write that as I have never used it before. Below is what I was using until this new request came up.
<code> Private Sub txtloan1_AfterUpdate() If IsNull(DLookup("[loan1]", _ "settlement", _ "[loan1]=""" & Me.txtloan1.Text & """ AND [status] = 'Open'")) = False Then Cancel = True MsgBox "Test", vbOKOnly, "Warning" End If End Sub </code>
This was also executing after the user entered the information within a text field. I did not want them to enter all the data and then have it come back as a duplicate.
I've got a form (frmEdit) that allows users to search tblMain for records using a bunch of unbound controls and a dynamically created SQL statement. Search results are displayed in a subform (subMain), and the current record in the subform is displayed in a set of bound controls on frmEdit.
Now the important bit: There is a set of unbound checkboxes on my form that allow the user to change which fields are visible in subMain. This is accomplished by the following:
Code: Private Sub chkName_AfterUpdate() If Me.chkName = 0 Then Me.subMain.Form.CorrespondingField.ColumnHidden = True Else Me.subMain.Form.CorrespondingField.ColumnHidden = False End If End Sub
Certain fields are visible by default, but the user may want to change which fields those are. Here's what I've done so far to accomplish this:
Created a button (btnChangeDefaults) that opens a form (frmChangeDefaults)
Put checkboxes for each table field on frmChangeDefaults
Put a "Cancel" button (btnCancel)* and "Done" button (btnDone)** on frmChangeDefaults.
*btnCancel just closes frmChangeDefaults without making any changes to frmChangeDefaults or frmEdit
**btnDone changes Forms.frmEdit.Form.chkName.DefaultValue to Me.CorrespondingCheckBox.Value and then closes frmChangeDefaults
This all seems to work quite well, actually. Debugging confirms that the default values of the checkboxes on frmEdit are indeed changed when I click btnDone. But when I close frmEdit and re-open it, the default values return to what they were prior. This happens even when:
I close frmEdit using DoCmd.Close acForm, "frmEdit", acSaveYes
I close frmEdit after using DoCmd.Save acForm, "FrmEdit"
I save frmEdit manually by right-clicking and pressing save
In sheet 1, In column A all the Batch numbers are present. So I want to check if each of these is present in Access table named "tblmain". If its present then display its corresponding Policy number in Column B of attached workbook.
Basically, what's the best practice or how do we store a query's value into an array then checking what the max or min value is and how to check if let's say "4" is in the array?
I am trying to write a code that will execute at the change even of the combobox/Listbox and when a character is typed in it then all the data from "DocumentType" field whose first character matches with the first character typed in Combo/Listbox will be stored in it.
The following code doesn't work:
Private Sub ComboBox4_Change() Dim strText, strFind As String strText = Me.ComboBox4.Text If Len(Trim(strText)) > 0 Then strFind = "BarcodeRef like '" & strText & "*'" End If
