Modules & VBA :: Count Number Of Times Mouse Left-clicks On Active Form
Jun 14, 2013I would like to update a txtbox with a simple int count of the number of times a mouse is left-clicked while on an active form. How do I do this?

View RepliesI'm incrementing a counter every time I click on a combobox by using the on click event and this code:
Code:
POcount = POcount + 1
I have 5 fields on my form: GWS1, GWS2, GWS3, GWS4 and GWS5.I want to store the value of the combobox when clicked into the correct GWS field. For example: If I click the combobox 3 times it would store the value of the combobox after the 1st click in GWS1, after the 2nd click in GWS2 after the 3rd click in GWS3.I tried
Code:
me."GWS & POcount" = combobox1
but that's invalid syntax.
What I would like to do is have a field in a given record increment itself every time that record is selected. For example, say you have a table that stores items in the inventory: each item has a times_search_for_field.
Now, lets say a user runs a search which results in the following SQL:
SELECT * FROM Inventory WHERE experation_date=Today();
Now I want to have every record returned by that SQL statement increment it's times_search_for_field incremented by one. I'm just looking for the most efficiant way to do this.
I know I chould just have my asp .net code loop through the results and call an SQL UPDATE statement for each record, but it seems there should be a more efficient way of doing this.

I'm compiling a monthly report based on data from my table "JobSheet"
I want to count how many times last month a specific field was entered, it's a drop down list which is formed from it's own table "Problem"
Is there a simple way of doing this?
I would like to count the number of times a value appears in a column using Ms Access
E.g.
Name Count

Paul 1

How to count the number of times that the data appears in a certain field (which is [Ema!l]). I have a list of ema!l addresses and I want to find out whether that ema!l address has appeared once, twice or more. I want to add this as a field in a query. I don't want to delete it or anything because it's perfectly fine for the ema!l address to appear more than once, I just want to be able to identify when the ema!l address has already appeared.
If I was using Excel I would use a Countif function to count how many times the data in the specified cell appears in the whole column, and that would give me the number. I'm not use to the language of Access so I can't figure out how to achieve this.
I tried adding a Total row to the grid in the query and then changing the total to 'count' but this just returned 1 for every row.
I have 2 tables...a lookup table with possible responses (i.e. yes, no, don't know) and the second with 8 fields that contain the values selected from the first table. Tables are related one-to-many. I need to count the number of times each of the responses shows from the lookup table shows in each of the fields in the main table. Have tried to query with the lookup field set to "group by" and each field set to "count".

Is there a way to force a left mouse click in VBA?
How can I move to control on form when user clicks on another control on same form? In other words... have set validation on controls and unless I disable all the other controls on form until I need it enabled, user can click on other control and get out of the validation sequence. Need to send user back to control they were on when they click on a different control elsewhere...
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to copy a record 'n' number of times, incrementing the date by either days, months, weeks etc?
I have a regular payments table that will need to be edited at some point should either dates, or amounts change, but... regardless of the size of the table, it's not a problem, as these will be moved to a different table and deleted once paid.
Given the example, would it be possible to copy this record and additional 5 times, incrementing the date by one week.
I would like to do a loop but never done one before, basically i want to copy the current record by the number of times specified in a quantity field
So if the quantity field in the record says 5 then copy that record 5 times (I have managed to create the copy and paste code but dont know how to make it do it 5 times
Code:
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSelectRecord
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdCopy
DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdPaste
I have a parts order form (FrmORDER)with a list of parts selected stored in it. e.g Part #, Part Description, Qty, Price etc
I also have assemblies stored with the same detail that are composed of individual parts.
What I would like to do is
Open formA if I do a single click (to select a new part or assembly)
Open formB if I do a double click (to open the contents of the selected assembly in the order form
It would seem that the following series of events occurs
When the user double-clicks a control other than a command button: MouseDown → MouseUp → Click → DblClick → MouseUp
Hence I can't actually open formB with a double click unless I remove the single click event.
I've created a report and report has the same number of pages as the number of records that it's displaying.
If there are two records, the report has 4 pages...the first 2 are the actual report and then the other 2 are a copy. If there are 3 records, the report would have 3 copies (...6 pages).
Any idea how to change this so that I have only one copy of the report?
I need to write a code that checks if every 6 lines in a table contains a string. If it contains the string, then carry on looping, but if it does not, it will delete the current line and the previous 6 lines before it. The program should then continue looping through the entire table.
For example,
Code:
Apple
a
b
c
d
e
Apple
f
g
h
i
j
Apple
l
m
n
o
p
q
Apple
.
.
.
I need to find the string "apple" in every 6 lines. So, that means that the first 2 Apples are fine, but for the third one needs to be deleted as it contains 7 lines instead of 6.
I have a form that records followup activities for protocols. The form allows the user to enter up to six f/u actions from a dropdown menu in six separate fields (called fu1_action, fu2_action, etc).
I am trying to write a query that retrieves only protocols that only have one f/u action selected as "telephone correspondence" and am having trouble. It seems I could write a function in VBA that would somehow loop through the 6 f/u action fields and give a value of 1 to those that have 'telephone correspondence' as a response, and then add them up to give a total of calls for that specific protocol, and then in a separate query only retrieve those that have a total number of calls = 1, but how to get started in writing this.
I have a memo field that feeds to a textbox control on one of my forms. I would like to re-format the textbox using the .Height value based on how many lines appear in it (i.e. it will fit only 3 lines if there are 3, but 5 lines if there are 5, etc.).
Is there any way to count the number of lines that appear in the textbox?
Essentially I have a form_A with several tab's and then one list control box in each of those tabs. At present if you double click on any item within the control boxes your taken to another form_B with info about that item and when you close that from down again if refreshes form_A.
Is it possible to only refresh the specific list control box that is active instead of refreshing the whole form ?
Hey Readers,
I'm using MS OFFICE 2003...MS ACCESS
I am having a problem in my one form where I have to click on the "go to next record arrow" twice before it displays the next record. (even on the "create new record" it requires 2 clicks)
All other forms I have display the next record for only a single click on the arrow.
Is there something unique in the properties of the form in question that needs to be changed so that a single click displays the next record?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Duncan
I have a table which specifies the delivery date
I have a from that allows you to choose a year and a month.
I have an unbound textbox which I wan to display the count
I want to be able to count all the records from a table with the year and month specified in the comboboxes and display this in the texbox.
I have a table that contains many records of events. I've already created a multiple item form based on the table. My form contains 2 textboxes for input of a date range and a dropdown box to select "yes or no".
What I am having difficulty with is the query that will count the records by type insert it into the recordsource such that the multiple item form will appear like this:
Event Type| Count
Input | 4
Output | 2
Update | 3
How do I go about doing so? I have been testing with this simple query:
Code:
Private Sub Command8_Click()
Dim Task As String
Task = "SELECT EventType, Count(EventType) FROM Final GROUP BY EventType;"
Me.RecordSource = Task
End Sub
But the column that contains the count keeps appearing as #name?
I am attempting to modify some code that is used for reading content in an Outlook mail and need to catch and move the email if certain content is duplicated in the email.
The code reads the email that is in the attached image format:
As seen, this email contains 2 devices, but the Serial No in both is duplicated.
In the code, I need to capture this and rather than reading the contents, I need to just move this email to a separate "Manual" folder to be dealt with separately, so not to write the information to the database.
The current code is as follows:
Option Explicit
Private ns As Outlook.Namespace
Private sEmailAddress As String
Private sPerson As String
Private dReceived As Date
[Code] .....
creating the VBA code to find the total number of tables in my database.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn one table, I have a few fields. One of the field is "ItemSequence" and another one is "TotalPcs"."ItemSequence" is where user key in the sequence number for one or more item. 5 example for possible content of "ItemSequence" is as following :
1) 7
2) 4,6,9
3) 5-9
4) 3,5,9, 23-25
5) 3-5, 8-10
"TotalPcs" is the total number of items key in to "ItemSequence". For the 5 example above, the related "TotalPcs" should be as following:
1) 1 (1 item, which is item 7 alone)
2) 3 (3 item which is item 4, 6 and 9)
3) 5 (5 item which is item 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9)
4) 6 (6 item which is item 3, 5, 9, 23, 24 and 25 )
5) 6 (6 item, which is item 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 and 10)
For time being, the user have to count manually to get the "TotalPcs". I wonder is there a way to calculate the "TotalPcs" by programming?
I'm trying to tie a from into the results from and AD Query. I'm not that experienced with doing this kind of thing so I may be going about this the wrong way. Anyway here's what I've got so far:
Code:
Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer)
Dim cn As ADODB.Connection
Dim rs As ADODB.Recordset
Set cn = New ADODB.Connection
With cn
.ConnectionString = "Provider=ADSDSOObject;Trusted_Connection=yes;"
[Code] .....
When stepping through the code, it all goes well until it hits the line that actually connects it to the form "Set Me.Recordset = rs".
When this line is executed, Access crashes and attempts to restart.
PS: Access 2010, Win7 64bit
I am trying to get active member count by month in MS Access.
Table looks like this:
admin ID firstName sDate eDate 1 Adam 01/01/2015 01/04/2015 2 Ben 01/02/2015 15/04/2015 3 Carl 01/02/2015 13/03/2015 4 Don 13/01/2015
Required output would be like this
2015-Jan: 2
2015-Feb: 4
2015-Mar: 3
2015-Apr: 3
2015-May:1
etc..
I got this far:
SELECT DISTINCT count(a.ID) as mCount, year(dimDate.Date) as [Year], month(dimDate.Date) as [Month]
FROM admin AS a INNER JOIN dimDate ON (dimDate.Date >= a.sDate AND dimDate.Date <= a.eDate) OR (dimDate.Date >= a.sDate AND dimDate.Date = null)
GROUP BY year(dimDate.Date), month(dimDate.Date)
ORDER BY year(dimDate.Date), month(dimDate.Date)
Query4 mCount Year Month 31 2015 1 71 2015 2 44 2015 3 13 2015 4
