View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a custom record counter on a form using the below code:
Private Sub Form_Current()
If Me.NewRecord Then
Me.lblRecordCounter.Caption = _
"Record " & Me.CurrentRecord & " of " & Me.Recordset.RecordCount + 1
Else
Me.lblRecordCounter.Caption = _
"Record " & Me.CurrentRecord & " of " & Me.Recordset.RecordCount
End If
End Sub
I think at some stage the form was saved with a filter on and this may be causing the issue. The problem I have is:
There are 1749 records. Everytime I open the form the custom record counter displays "Record 1 of 501". The built in record counter shows 1 of 1749. The moment I hit the next record arrow the custom record counter displays "2 of 1749" and if I go back again it displays "1 of 1749.".
I know it's a filter causing the problem because I have a macro that does a clear search. As soon as I hit the clear search the custom counter goes back to "1 of 501" again (even though the built in one stays at 1 of 1749).
I have Filter on Load set to No.
what I am doing wrong?
I have made a very simple log on form that requires the user to type in a user name and password. The user name and passwords are stored in a table. New users are added to this table to allow access to the database.
Is there a way I can add a counter to see how many times a particular user has logged onto the database?
Is there a way to make the password expire every 365 days requiring the user to reactivate their account and log in details.
So I have this field in a form/table called "CustomerID". This is to be an ID number for our customers that includes the first four letters of their last name (LastName field) followed by four digits.
This ID is created when a button is pressed in the form. After that, code needs to grab the first four letters of the last name (LastName field in the form and table) and then go to the Contacts table and see if there is already a CustomerID that starts with those four letters. If there is not, then the CustomerID will be those four letters followed by "0001". If there is, it needs to be those four letter followed by the next number sequence that still does not exist for those four letters.
For example:
First four letters of last name = zabo
Check to see if those four letters exist in CustomerID returns negative then
CustomerID assigned = zabo0001
Another example:
First four letters of last name = zabo
Check to see if those four letters exist in CustomerID returns zabo0001 and zabo002 then
CustomerID assigned = zabo0003
I am trying to take a table that looks like this:
Customer Name
Fruit
Customer A
Apples
Customer A
Bananas
Customer B
Pears
Customer B
Apples
Customer C
Pears
And create a table that looks like this:
Customer Name
Apples
Bananas
Pears
Customer A
Apples
Bananas
Customer B
Apples
Pears
Customer C
Pears
I think this is relatively simple but don't know the syntax to create this table.
I am doing my project to create data base for Video Hire shop. Was allright so far; however hit the wall now.
I need to create query to list Hires(rentals) by customer age group. I have created query with the following fields: Customer ID, date (Date()), DOB field and calculating field: AgeGroup:Now()-[DOB]. When click to display data in AgeGroup field is displayed in days. How to set it up to display decades not number of days days?
My current database creates an invoice per order. Until now that worked wonderful. Now i want to create an invoice per month per customer with multiple orders on the same database. So i will have to create a new table/query on the existing order table.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHello everyone, new member here. I am in charge of a student sign in sign out database at the college where I work. This database has two forms and one table. What I would like to do is include a text box on the first form, which is the sign in form that will display a running total of the students that are signed in. This text box should count 1, 2, 3 etc. each time a student clicks the sign in button. Thanks for the help
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Table Sales - that lists customer and order information
Most of the customers are new - is there a way to populate Customer Name Table with a new entry each time a new customer is input into the Sales Tale
(Without having to add the custome to Customer Name Table - then going to Sales Order)
OR
Failing that - is there a way to use a list box that points to Customer Name Table (and if it doesn't find the one you want, will allow you toadd a new record) In the SAME form as you use to add to Sales Table.
So:
Date (textbox linking to form.Sales) Customer Name (List Box linking to form.CustomerName + adding the info to form.Sale)
The problem that I have is that when I add a new field to my form at runtime I get the following error
Runtime Error '2424'
The expression you entered has a field, control, or property that Microsoft Access can't find.
This error appears when I try to update any field.
I posted this before and was informed that access has a field counter limit up to 750 on a form, this includes fields which were deleted or hidden. I dont deliberately add and remove fields, but this is the main form in my database so it is not unbelieveable that this may be at the limit and this is why the error is occurring. Does anyone know how to reset this?, or what I should do to get around this.
Thanks
hi,
in my table i have a customer id number.
each job will have one customer id number.. and customers will have many jobs to their id
i simply want to display on my form the number of times that customer's id has appeared in my bookings table.
eg.. a customer has used our services 25 times.. (so obviously their customer id is found 25 times in the booking table as a foreign key)
so can i just place a control on my form that displays this value (i presume it is some kind of counter)..
so i will know on my customer form how many times they have been included in a booking record
I have a DB set up with a debtors table (Customers) and a Customer Contacts table, I was thinking of combining these two tables into one.Most of the Debtors are companies, but a few are actual people. With the current setup, i need to have both a debtor and a customer in two different tables, but with exactly the same data.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to put together a DB for creating notifications to customers. The source file is pulled out from another system as an Excel file, which is then uploaded to Access via VBA. The user runs a query, and then sends the results (customer information) to an Excel file where we have set up a mail merge document (the notification itself).
A customer may appear in multiple records (having multiple accounts), but will only receive one notification.
What we're trying to do is give each notification an unique ID that will become its document reference number once the document is created. The number will need to be the same for all the records in which the customer appears, and they will need to be consecutive, as the documents themselves will be stored in PDF form later on in the process.
So I would like to assign an unique ID to each customer, each time it shows up when querying the uploaded source file (the query is done in a form, that has a sub-form for showing the results). Then, when exporting the query results, they will be also copied and stored to another table, along with the assigned reference number, for monitoring purposes.
The Access file itself will be split and used by multiple users (up to 9 users at a time). In theory, each user will see their own customers (each customer account is assigned to a certain user), but the number assignation will need to also depend on when the query has been run. For example, if user 1 queries the DB at 9:30AM they will get records numbered 1000 to 1050; user 2 (who queries the DB at 9:31AM) gets numbers 1051 to 2100 etc.
Basically I have a Customer Form, which I have a New party button on it,this button opens up the party form to a new party, what I would like it to do is open up a new party but make the new party for the customer I had selected in the previous form.I have tried the GoTo macro's but cannot seem to get it to work.
I am thinking on clicking the button it will need to get the Customer ID, and then open the party form, create new party, and paste in the Customer ID, which then updates the Name - Date - Address - Company Fields.
I'm creating a DB that includes a form that "Customers" will fill out. The form (CustomerForm) has text boxs that must be completed. I'm trying to figure out how to make sure all text boxes are filled out. I have already created a Input Mask and selected Required in the "Customer" Table. There is also a Username text box I would like to have validated that is is not already being used and two password text boxes I would like to have validate against one another to ensure it was created correctly. Once all text boxes are properly filled out I would like the Button to Save customer data, close CustomerForm and Open ShoppingCart. This is the code I have created:
Code:
Option Compare Database
Private Sub Log_In_Click()
If IsNull(Me.CustomerFName) Then
MsgBox "Please Enter First Name", vbInformation, "First Name Required"
Me.CustomerLName.SetFocus
[code]...
Is it possible to create a form and vb procedure within that particular form (ie. an OnClose event)?
Code:
Function CreateForm()
Dim Form as Form
set Form = CreateForm
frm.Caption = "MyNewForm"
frm.Recordsource = "Stuff"
'Do other stuff to form, save and close, open form again
[Forms]![MyNewForm].OnClose = 'insert sub and/or call to procedure (if possible, haven't been successful yet)
End Function
What I need to do is press a button on a form. When the button is pressed, I want to create a new record in a table not already open and populate some fields with data from the form I am looking at. Then call up a new form with the record I just created on it.
Basically it is a work-order entry issue, the user scrolls through to find the correct piece of equipment when they do they click on "Create work-order" a work order is created and populated and the user can then fine tune the new work-order as required.
Thanks in advance for any help with this situation.
I have a table that contains all my customer information. Name, address, phone etc. The primary key for the table is an account number I assign to each customer. I am trying to make a section on my form where it displays a list of each interaction I have with my customer. A date and an interaction or case number. I made a second table with the same account number as a primary key to link them.
I have a tabbed form, on the first tab is all the information from my first table (name, account number, address phone etc.) and on the second tab I want to display the interactions for only the customer who's account number appears on the first tab of the form.
I tried putting a subform under the second tab, when I scroll through to records on the first tab, the interaction records for that account number do not appear on the second tab subform.
Any idea of how to do this?
Thanks very much,
Siirous
I have a table with customers details(Address Etc) but there is too many for me to use a combo or list box so i would like to use a text box.
Here lies my problem.
What i need is to be able to enter into a text box on form1 the first few letters of the customer ID no and this will open a hidden subform that will list the customers with those first few letters.
I then want to be able to select one from the list using the number keys and once i press enter it opens another form(form2) with all the customer information already inserted into the text boxes on form2.
I am having problems with my frmAddCustomers. I have a qryNewUserNumber which works. I want the number generated by this query to appear in my unbound text field(txtNewNumber) on the form. Nomatter what I try it does not seem to work. Currently I keep getting a #Name? error
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to create a login form that allows the user to change his/her temporary password logging it to the proper table along with timestamp and who done it info.But, after spending the morning trying to find the proper syntax I am flummoxed.
I can get everything to work accept the update of the fields. I can get the command to work (writes to the location) but it does the pop-up what is the parameter thing when it works. I have all the information just need to get it in so the command recognizes it.
DoCmd.SetWarnings False
DoCmd.RunSQL "UPDATE lut_TeamList SET Pass = txt_Password.value WHERE TeamListID = Me.cbo_UserName.Value"
DoCmd.RunSQL "UPDATE lut_TeamList SET UpdatedBy = Me.cbo_UserName.Value WHERE TeamListID = Me.cbo_UserName.Value"

I am trying to create a form button that will automatically email each row of a query result to myself. At first the VBA code worked fine with a standard query. However when I use it with a query that contains a reference to a combobox form such as "<=[Forms]![Reminder]![Monthsleft].[Value] And >=0" I get the 3061 run-time error and "Too few parameters. Expected 1." I have included the VBA code below.
Private Sub Command9_Click()
Dim MyDb As DAO.Database
Dim rsEmail As DAO.Recordset
Dim sToName As String
Dim sSubject As String
Dim sMessageBody As String

If you intend to renew the lease, terms and conditions will need to be submitted for ECC for approval (regardless of changes or not in lease rates). If the terms have yet to be confirmed, it is important to begin the negotiation process as soon as possible with a target to provide the ECC submission at least two months prior to the commencement date of the renewed lease. To ensure sufficient time for ECC approval before the contract expiry date, please prepare the ECC paper and obtain necessary endorsements. Submission details can be found here. The ECC submission template and PSD Questionnaire could be found from this link

I am trying to create a form to enter data in a table. I would like to make it pull in info from a switchboard. If the record already exists I would like it to find it and allow me to edit the info. If the record doesn't exist I would like to be able to add a new record with the data input. What is the best way to accomplish this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedHello. I'm trying to add a counter to the fields of a query. Purpose is to have a second query choose from this a selected record and next x records, which, of course have been already sorted by first query itself.
I thought the simplest way was with a simple automatic-generated counter, but perhaps I'm making it complicated and there's a simpler way. Any idea?
thanks
