I filter my subform (datasheet) by fields, everything works great except "date" column. MS Access shows that record does not exist but it isn't true.

I have a Form to Display Projects that has a SubForm displaying Sub-Projects related to them. The main Project Form has a Combo Box which allows a user to select a ProjectID to display. The SubForm has a ProjectID Field as well. When the Project ID is selected in the Main Form, only the appropriate Sub-Projects are displayed in the Sub-Form.

On the SubForm, there is a Field named ActionID, which uses the following VB Code to limit the availability of the Fields in the SubForm that apply to Dates. If the selected Action is Install, only Install related Dates should be available. Likewise, if the selected Action is Remove only Remove related Dates should be available.

Everything seems to work as expected until there is more than one Sub-Project is the SubForm and they do not contain the same Action. In these cases, it appears as if the Sub-Projects in the SubForm are not being treated as individual records. If Sub-Project is Added or Modified to have an action of "Install", all records are treated as Install Records (only Install related Dates are available), regardless of their content.

Is there a way to update the properties for only the row that has been selected?

I'm having issues with this one.

Table name is CompDates
Subform is ViewByMarket

Start date is Text13 and End Date is Text15.

I want it to filter out any matches between the 7 fields. Here is my code:

Forms :: Display Subform As Datasheet And Allow Filtering

I am using Access 2010. I have a subform(continuous form) that I display as a datasheet and allow filtering. I display the record count by using Me.Recordset.RecordCount in the subform's form_current event. This value updates properly based on the column filtering except when the filtering displays 0 records.

When there are 0 records, the form_current event does not fire and I cannot figure out how to trap when this occurs so that I can display '0 records found'. How I can tell when the column filtering causes 0 records to display in the datasheet? Is there an event that fires when the user filters using the column headings arrow?

I have a subform that is in Datasheet view. If I open this subform on it's own, the Date Picker works for the Date field. However, if I open the main form with the subform on it, the date picker doesn't work? Nothing happens when I select a date on the calender.

I'm using 4 combo-boxes in order to filter a tabular form in access.

One combo box is for a company name the second is for a report type and the third and forth is for choosing years. I used VBA in order to apply the filter:

Each line works by itself but I cant figure out how to combine them together, or how to use "AND" between each filter so the filtering will refer all of them when I run the code.

I need to do some filtering using combox box1 and out of that filtered records i need to do one more filtering using combobox2. then again another filtering by Combobox3. ( same way we are doing in Excel)

by Combo box 2 i need to filter POL ( out of the data filtered by above )

I have an Excel workbook which I use to extract data from an Access database using VBA. A requirement has popped up to show things from the last week. Unfortunately, I can't just use a Date()-7 query in Access as the start point might be different, so it needs to be based on seven days prior to a date field in Excel.

So, I have a cell in Excel with a date, in this case "16/01/2014". I want to then use that date in my query to say "greater than 8 days prior to to this date". The field is formatted as a date and the variable (DatafileDate) taken from this field and passed to the function is a Date. In my Select query I then have this line to select the top 5 marked as UK accounts in this case:

I'm trying to make a form to filter a table and open a data entry form with the filtered data ready for editing. I've got it working when filtering a 1 field but I'd like to filter the data by 3 fields and i can't get it right. the code I'm trying to use is :

I have a database with a large number of records: ~2000, so I use a form in datasheet view to filter and sort the records to find a particular one.

This works fine for locating a certain record.

Sometimes I then need to make a new record but I will be duplicating a few fields from the one I just found.

At the moment I manually do this by copying each field I want into word and then pasting as appropriate into fields in the new record.

Is there anyway I can still use datasheet view to search for a record, then select certain fields and have them duplicated into a new record?

I should add that the datasheet view is locked for editing, I have a separate form in single form view for entering a new record. Sort of vital information i missed out there.

I have placed an unbound subform on a form. I have the following code which loads in different datasheet to the subform:

'Loads in NewQuery
Me.data.SourceObject = "query.NewQuery"

'Loads in NewQuery2

etc.... this works fine to show these queries but i want to know how to reference the fields on the datasheet.

for example one of the fields in NewQuery is "ID"... When clicked i want to run code... normally on bound subform i could go for example ID_Click()... msgbox(me.ID)

how can i reference these other fields on unbound???

I'm using a datasheet that can be filtered for certain fields. I have a macro that opens a form to the record that was selected (aka "current") in the datasheet. It filters this opened form to "1 of 1" which makes sense. How would I go about filtering that form for all of the records left (after filtering) in the datasheet?

I hate macros, but I'm doing client-specific work. The primary key is a field (autonumber) called "ListingNumber".

I'm trying to get my "IncidentDate" field to autopopulate two other date fields to a few days from the "IncidentDate". The other two date fields are "ContainDueDate" and "RootDueDate". I'm trying to accomplish this on my "Test CAP Form"

I tried using the following in the BeforeUpdate of "ContainDueDate" and received a complier error: expected =

Code : DateAdd(d,2,[IncidentDate])

so I removed the parenthesis and nothing happened

Code : DateAdd d,2,[IncidentDate]

I even tried redoing it in the AfterUpdate of "IncidentDate" and nothing happened either

Code : DateAdd d,2,[ContainDueDate]

I'm not sure if I'm even using the right function to get what I want.

What I need it to do, is when the section is selected, filter out the questions that pertain to that section, and have those questions be the only ones available in the drop-down list to choose.

I know that I need to have an After Update code once the section has been selected, but not sure how the coding should be.

Auto Rearrange Fields Or Hide Fields In DataSheet Based On Criteria

I have main form and that has one sub-form , this Main form governs/determines the data in the sub form.

This Sub form ( DataSheet Mode) has approximately 130 columns and based on the Main form criteria only ~ 20 columns has to be filled.

What I want to do is based on the main forms criteria I want to show only the columns that are applicable to main form criteria.

If I use Columnar or Tabular single form for the Sub Form I am able to hide the fields that are not required BUT IT LEAVES A SPACE/GAP on form ( for the hidden fields that are not required)

Forms :: Using VBA To Populate Date / Time Fields On Subform

I have a form that contains a subform. On the main form, there are 3 fields: [IncidentNumber], [OpenDate] and [OpenTime]. The subform, [CtrlLog Detail] , contains the log entry details for each incident number. Every incident number can have many log entries. Two of the fields on the subform are [EntryDate] and [EntryTime]. The fields work correctly and the forms are fine.The issue Im having is when a new incident number is created the [OpenDate], [OpenTime] and [EntryDate], [EntryTime] MUST be equal because of some filter queries for statistics. Right now the user must physically type in the date/times in these 4 fields when they create a new incident number, which means I'm having lots of data entry errors.

Using default value on either [EntryDate] or [EntryTime] on the subform doesnt work because it doesnt create a primary key for the underlying table and the subform will not allow any other entry (due to some other linked values) until that PK is created. The forms are based on tables linked by [Activity_ID] as the primary key. I want to create some VBA code to see that if the Incident number is a new number (meaning the user must type in the new incident number creating the primary key for [Activity_ID]), that access will automatically populate the [EntryDate], [EntryTime] fields to match the [OpenDate], [OpenTime] fields on the main form. The user will manually populate the [OpenDate], [OpenTime].

If the number is an existing number (and the user is simply adding a log entry to the incident number) then I want [EntryDate], on the subform to default to the system date/time ([EntryTime] should remain blank for user entry) while keeping [OpenDate], [OpenTime] unchanged. When the [EntryDate], [EntryTime] fields are populated on creation of a new incident number, I want the PK for the underlying table ([Log_ID]) to be generated.

The statement runs from a button on the sub form subOriginForm. Its intention is to collect the values from cboField1 and txtfield2 located on that form and insert them into tblTargetDB - but the whole thing isn't working.

I have a sub form that adds and displays appointments related to an order. The form has two combo boxes, cboVenderTypeID and cboVenderID and a date picker. There is a 3rd combo box on the parent form called OrderNode. The contents the cboVenderID combo box are filtered by the selections made in cboVenderTypeID and VenderID comb boxes. This works fine and adds the appropriate appointment to tblAppoints. The problem is when I try to add an appointment with of a different type (different value in cboVenderTypeID) all the values in the existing appointments change to the latest value selected in cboVenderTypeID.

Filtering A Subform - When Is A Subform 'loaded'?

I have an SQL query that filters a subform based on the selected item in an option frame that runs on the after update event of the option frame.
Forms!fsubPrjPersonnel.RecordSource = SQLText & WClauseWhen I try this out, I get the following error message:

2450 - xxx can't find the form 'fsubPrjPersonnel' referred to in a macro expressions or Visual Basic code.

I then ran the following snippet and found that the form is not recognized as being loaded when it is "open" as a subform
If IsLoaded("fsubPrjPersonnel") Then
MsgBox "form found"
End If

If I open the subform as a form as well as having the main form & subform open, i.e. open a second instance of the subform from the database window, it filters fine.

I have been able to requery the subform so where am I going wrong?:confused:

Filtering A SubForm

I have a sub form to which I want to apply filter buttons.
I have used the wizard to set these up.
The problem I have is that when I try to filter the SubForm the MainForm also filters.
The forms are based on tables and not queries.

Yes, Ive searched the forum and Im still stuck on this most basic of concepts - please can someone point me in the right direction?..

I have a Form [frmClient] and a subform [sbfrmCommsList]. The subform links nicely with the main form via [ID]. However I want to add a second filter on the subform selecting only [Type] = 2 rows (from the child table)

This is in the subform:

Private Sub Form_Load()

Me.Form.Filter = "Client=" & Me.Client & " AND Type =2"
Me.Form.FilterOn = True
Me.Form.Requery

End Sub


It still displays all records (Both [Type] 1 and 2)...

I want to use an expression to compare 2 dates and calculate the date of the last set of accounts for a company. The user will enter(DD/MM) of the company year end e.g. 31/12. I then want to compare this with todays date (in another field) to ascertain if the month has already passed in the current year and hence calculate the last year end. i.e. If (current month>company month end), year end date is DD/MM/YYYY (where YYYY is taken from today's date), year end date is DD/MM/(YYYY-1). I am not a programmer and although I understand database theory (from the teaching perspective) I am not expert in developing databases.
