Modules & VBA :: Find Field Listed In Queries And List Them

I have no experience with Access Modules which I think I need to find all the queries that reference a field, in this example: LAWSON_LHSEMPDEMO.R_STATUS

I would like for the module to list all the queries for me that reference this table and field of "LAWSON_LHSEMPDEMO.R_STATUS"

Is there an easy way to do this?

I am relatively new to Access and i am wondering why i cannot find a specific field from a table on the control source when i am and attached it to a check box.

I have created the field on the table, and now i want to attached it to the check box on a form however when i go down the list of control sources i cannot see it.

I have a folder that gets updated with a few new xml files every day. I need to import the data in these files into a table. The names of the files to import is in a field (FName) in a table (tblFiles).

The code that loads up the files is this:

Application.ImportXML DataSource:="C:ImportXML FILES" & FileName & ".xml", _
ImportOptions:=acAppendData

Up until now I specify the name of the file in an inputbox, so I have to enter a bunch of names to get it done.

I am looking for a way to get the filename from the table and then load up the file automatically.

I am trying to pass the results of what is selected in a list box to sql through an ado statement, when i select one result i can pass the value with no issue, when i select multiple item i get a run time error incorrect syntax near ';' i am guessing it is passing the data as a csv to sql and the where statement does not like that as criteria but i am not sure how to handle that either in vba or on the sql side.here is my vba code from access

We just upgraded to Access 2003 and I am creating a new database and in my Form... I was trying to set the REQUIRED FIELD PROPERTY to YES, but when I click the Properties of each field, it's not listed.

Has this been removed?

Reports :: Field Not Listed To Add To Report

I have created a report but discovered that I need to add a couple more fields.

I created a query for the one field and the other field I added to the existing queries.

Neither field is listed in the "add existing fields" drop down list. The fields have been added to the corresponding forms and tables.

How can I add these two fields without creating a whole new report?

What is the correct syntax that would delete a file when the record is deleted. The file's path is listed in a record field, MailLocation. Every time I try this code, I receive an error!

I've tried the below, and number of iterations, including calling the killfile differently (me![MailLocation], me.MailLocation).

Queries :: Order To Get A Sum Of Volume With Only One SKU Code Listed In Column 1

I created a query, and in field one i have a list of SKU codes (of which many are repeats), and in field two I have their corresponding volumes. In Fields 3-5 I have some various algebraic calcuations.

Now, in order to get a sum of the volume with only one SKU code listed in column 1, I use a group by on the SKU code, and a sum for the volume. When these are the only fields in the query, this works great. But when I add in the other calculated fields, the run query returns to showing each SKU code multiple times, and shows the volume and the calculations correctly. When I change the other calculated fields to Sum, then I get the aforementioned overflow error and no output at all.

Is there a way to both set it so that the output is only showing one SKU code, the total volume for that SKU, and the weighted average output of the other calculations in one query?

In my access form I provide the user a list of locations from various countries in a listbox . But the list is too long so I provide him a combobox for selecting a country. Selecting the country should update the listbox showing only the locations in that specific country.

So my SELECT from the listbox must cover the unselected state and show all entries and when a country is selected it must narrow the selection.

I tried to get this happen with the following SELECT statement containing a variable. Choosing a country in the Combobox results in a change of the variable and in a requery. This works after the first country is selected and for each country change, but the initial list is empty.

VBA in the loadform

SELECT in the listbox "lstlocationsperproject"

Any hints, how I have to use the * for getting the complete list on the initial view ?

Queries :: Conditional Formatting On Column Not Listed In Crosstab Query

I have a simple crosstab query:

FirstName and Surname as Row Headings.
Date as Column Heading.
OnShift as a Value (Count).

These are from the table DailyActivityLogs. Also in that table is a choice field called Weather that lets you choose the conditions that day (Weather, Work, Part Weather, Subbed).

This is the report the crosstab query generates:

What I would like to do is colour the Count fields depending on what the weather was that day. It seems possible, as Weather sits in the same table, but the field Weather isn't in the crosstab query.

Can I do this?

I'd like to further automate our invoicing system and need a field which has the last day of the month an item was completed.

Currently we have a field in the table called [Date Done]. I'm planning on adding a further field [Tax_Point].

I'd like the field to select the [date done] value and enter the final day of that month, unless, the final date of that month is in the future. in which case it would need the current date.

We create invoices at sporadic times of the month, and in the next month for the previous month; hence the need for a system date check.

What this is to do is change the PGTIN record in PP TBL to the GTIN that is in the UPC TBL where the UPC Code on the form is the same as the UPC Code in the UPC TBL. I am getting the error message "can't find field..." I have double and triple checked the field names but cannot find my error. Both PGTIN and UPC Code are text fields.

Memo field is called [Notes] and data is like this...

I want to find each date in the Notes field so I can split the memo field data into another table where the memo field will become multiple records that hold date, text and customer/prospect ID fields. The customer table was easy because there was a <Div> tag before each date. However in the Prospects table there are no tags so how to change my vba code to search for each date before I split off the data.

Here is the part of the VBA code I used to find the <Div> tag in the customer notes field. How to find each date in the memo field? The date is in d/mm/yy format?

I have a main form that has a combo box (cboCurrentEmployeeName) to select an Employee Name. And then there is a subform within the same form that displays the list of active tasks.The record source for the subform is a query. The query is as follows. Please note that the tables are joined on employee-id and not the employee name.

I runt the query and it prompts for "Enter parameter value: Random_Temp.peopleID... what could be going on? Both tables have a field called peopleID and always Billing_temp has many more records than Random_temp:
