I have this Sheet1 which is a manual input, I need to copy the values from Sheet 1 to Sheet 3, then I have Sheet 2 where there is data auto generated, How can I vlookup values copied from Sheet 1 and find it in Sheet2 ??? Is it possible using the vba code?

I should find the values copied from Sheet 1 in Sheet 2 and copy the values seen to sheet 3?

I have to deal with string arrays that store text. I need info on copying, comparing, appending arrays. Also on passing arrays as parameters to subs or functions. Where I can get to this info quickly without having to browse through many screens.

In addition to this I have some questions:

I have to find the duplicates of values in an array. Here is the code that I use.

When the user opens the form to enter records, i want to write a function that would go through the textboxes to check whether the textboxes are left NULL. Now i can write code on button click for each form, but i was wondering if its possible to write a function that could be called for each form that i have to check for null values.

Someone fills in a new patient into the database, and the 'chipsoftnummer' which is the number in another database. That number is unique, so i want to have it where if someone fills in a number that already exists in the database the afterupdate event will open that record in the form.Here's the code i put in the input textbox update field:

I have an Excel workbook with multiple sheets, all the sheets have the same headers and are formatted the same.

Problem 1 is I need some sort of loop so that all sheets will be imported, the names will vary so I can't use specific names to import.

Problem 2 is that I need to create a new TempTable based on the format of these sheets and have them all import to that one table.

I need to do some cleaning up and updating of the data before I run append queries to have it moved to a couple of permanent tables.

I know I've written the VBA to have a new table created on import and later deleted after all my queries run.

In Access i can create different contracts with different running time.

I have contracts with a running time of 4 years, 6years, 8 years, 10 years and 12 years.

I have for each contract a different Excel file.

The users can choose via an Inputbox, which contract he wants to Export in Excel. In the Inputbox he enters the SuWID.

Now i want that the the Excel file with the Special running time get opened.

4 years ----> ("C:UsersGRIMBENDesktop4years.xlsm")
6 years ----> ("C:UsersGRIMBENDesktop6years.xlsm")

and so on.

some code I've come up to in order to import multiple excel files each of them with a different number of worksheets into an access table. The procedure is called from an Access database. The problem I have with the code is that when it encounters a workbook with only one worksheets (e.g. Sheet 1) it gives the error that "Sheet 2$" is not a valid name. When geting to a workbook with 2 sheets it says that "Sheet 3$" is not a valid name and so on and so forth. Is there a way to "check" the number of sheets in the workbooks and when it has only one sheet to transfer it and go to the next file?

General :: Find Specific Row And Copy Its Fields To Array

I'm new to Access but comfortable with Excel and VBA.I'm trying to transform a VBA-heavy form from Excel into an Access database, as multiple accessing is required, as well as data analysis. The situation is I have a form where users enter data (name, account number, date, etc). The account number is unique, and I have a table of approximately 14000 account numbers which contains the company name, address, and other details for each account number. I've set the account number as the primary ID on the accounts table.

What I would dearly love to be able to do is: when the account number is entered on the form, it is searched for (e.g. by the user clicking a button) from the accounts table. If it is located, the 7 fields in the relevant row are displayed in 7 textboxes on the form. I do not want to record the address, just display it on the form so the user can choose whether or not to use it.

So far, I have found GetRows, which seems to be able to convert the fields into a 2D array... this could be usable. But how can I do the first bit - find the correct row in the accounts table based on the account number entered into the textbox on the form? Is it possible to do this behind the scenes? In other words, Access finds the right row and displays each field in its textbox on the form, without producing a report form first.

I am running a database in which end users input values into a table via a data access page. The problem is that there are usually lots of records in this table which requires the same value for a particular field.

I was wondering if there is a way to implement something so that the user can input the value once and the value is then copied to all the records?

Copy String Of Values From Form

I have a form which displays contact details for customers. I want to add a button to the form which concatenates name and address fields, adding spaces and line breaks, and then copies the full name and address so that it can be pasted into other applications (e.g. into a letter).

To do this requires that I implement some code to perform the following actions, but I can't figure out how to do it. Can anyone help?

1. Check Title field. If it is not null, take it's value and add a space after it.
2. Check First Name field. If it is not null, take it's value add it to the output of step 1 and add a space after it.
3. Check Surname field. If it is not null, take it's value and add it to the output of step 2 and add a space and a line break after it.
4. Check the Company Name field. If it is not null, add it's value after the line break and add another line break.
5. Repeat this for every field until the end of the address is reached, then copy the result.

Copy And Pasting Values From One Form To The Next

I currently have two forms both usedfor adding new records into two different tables. The problem I am having was first that I could not simply bring the value in the ID field over from one form to the next. Now all I would like to be able to do is copy the value in the first ID and Paste in the second ID field on the second form.

I am currently getting an error possibly because the ID field on the first form in the Primary key for the table that form is linked to, on the second form however ID field is not the Primary key, I also can't make it the primary key because their are duplicate records that I cannot delete.

So... is it possible to get around this somehow to be able to copy and paste from one form to another?

Append Query Cannot Find Values In Form

i am trying to create an append query that gets 2 values from one table and a 3rd value from a form.

It gets the values from the table fine but always gives me a popup asking for the value from the form.

I have used the criteria build... and selected the loaded form and the field value that I am looking for. I have also made sure that there is a value in the field on the form.

is there a reason why the query will not grab the number in the forms field? or am I jsut not doing this right.

I have done this many times on a combo box and it works fine. It is jsut not working for a field that is typed in

Comparing 2 Tables To Find Duplicate Values

Hey all

Im rather new to access but have to use it at work. Ive been asked to see if there is a way to delete duplicate records from a table.

Now, I have 2 tables. The 1st table (tbl_list) contains records of various customer details. This list is old.

The second table (tbl_new_list) contains new customer details.

We have found that we have the same customer details in tbl_new_list that are in the old table.

Im looking for a way to compare these 2 tables so that the values in tbl_list are not in tbl_new_list.

I have tried numerous methods using append queries but nothing seems to work.

Thanks in advance people

P.S the data will be compared through a telephone number.

How do you search for any number of numeric characters using wildcards? The # symbol only searches for 1, and * obviously includes letters.

Example:

My search should only retrieve the first 3 values.

WHERE FieldName LIKE 'D[0-99999999]' does not seem to work.

I have the following dataset in a table called NR_PVO_120. How do i pick out a number (which can change but let's say, 6) of UNIQUE OtherIDs without excluding any OtherIDs under any fax numbers?

So, if you pick OtherID from Row7 you then also must pick OtherIDs from rows 8 and 9 because they have the same fax number. Basically, once you pick an OtherID you're then obligated to pick all OtherIDs that have the same fax number as the one you picked.

If the number requested (6 for this example) isn't possible then "the closest number possible but not exceeding" would be the rule.

For example, if you take OtherIDs from rows 1-10 you will get 6 unique OtherIDs but row 10 shares a fax with rows 11 and 12. You either need to take all 3 (but that will raise the unique count to 8, which isn't acceptable) or skip this OtherID and find one with a fax that has no other OtherIDs and that isn't on the result set already. My result of 6 UNIQUE OtherIDs will need to contain ALL OtherIDs under any fax the existing OtherIDs are connected to.

So one solution is to take rows 1-6, 26. Another is to take rows 1-4,10-14.

There will be many possibilities (the real dataset has tens of thousands of rows and the number of people requested will be around 10K), as long all OtherIDs connected to all faxes on the result set are part of the requested number (6 in this case) any combination would do.

A few notes.

1.Getting as close as possible to the requested number is a requirement.

2.Some OtherIDs will have a blank fax, they should only be included as a last resort (not enough OtherIDs for the requested number).

I have a database with two tables, and a form that is bound to the 1st table. I have a duplicate record button on the form. One of the functions I want to happen is when the duplicate button is pressed, one value is copied from the form and added to the 2nd table. The tables are basically set up the same with an ID column which is the key and an autonumber, and the second value is a number. So I want to copy the number to the other table and add a record. What is the best method? Can I use an insert into and just copy from a variable, or is the better method with a recordset. Either way, I have not been able to figure this silly thing out and it is preventing me from moving forward with this database.

ok so I have two forms open: One is a SP Bookings form with a subform SPDetails Query subform. The other form is the not connected/related SP Contacts Query form, to which users enter Full Name weight age ect. Need to copy the names of the new customers Full Name to the Lookup Contact Column in SPDetails Query subform. I got this far, with my trial runs are commented out. The only thing it does when I click on the button is move to new record on Sp Contacts Query Full Name and Copy the previous record. How do I get the button to copy the Full Name from form SPContacts Query.Full Name to the SPBooking Query.subform SPDetails Query Subform.LookupContact

This code is supposed to loop around a directory of photos (named after a project), and then copy a new photos (from another directory) to this folder, numbering them and the logging them in a table tphotos.The first time a copy photos to a new directory the code works fine. And I think I had it working fine before, but now when I copy photos to a pre-existing directory that has already photos, it only overwrites the first photo, instead looking for the last photo and attributing the new photo number n+1.

I've done debug.print in the code, and it looks like is not going into If NewFileName = f1.Name, therefore doesn't compare the newfilename with the files in the folder.

I'm getting myself into a bit of a muddle.

I have four tables:
tblinvoice / tblinvparts
tblquotes / tblquoteparts

when I open the tblinvoice form it has tblinvparts as a subform. tblinvoice has a listbox that lists quote numbers linked to vehiclereg. I have a button on the tblinvoice that will open a popup tblquoteparts continuous form linked to the quoteid on tblinvoice. These filtered records have a select button so I can select all or some.

I have now got stuck as I need a button on tblquoteparts popup that will copy the selected records from tblquoteparts and paste them into tblinvparts where quote (on tblequoteparts)=quoteid in tblinvoice.

In a nutshell, I would like to copy selected records from tblquoteparts to tblinvparts.I need to duplicate the records because only 10% of invoices are generated from a quote and the quote parts/prices may differ from the final invoice.

I have a projects Database with: Projects_Table, Staff_Table.

Both tables has forms for data entry or update. Each project has many staff allocated to it.

In the Staff_Form I placed the Project_Code in the form heading section. The form opens based on a search criterion on the project_code so it shows the staff for that project only. The issue is when I try to add a new staff for that project on the Staff_Form, the project_code stays blank in the staff_table.

What I need is that the project_code in the staff_table for that newly added person to have the same project_code on the opened form. Simply to link the staff to the project they work in when I add them using the form.
