Modules & VBA :: Export Report To PDF And File Name?

Aug 10, 2015

I'm trying to put together a few lines of VBA code to export a report called "Rework Label Report" to a specific network location in PDF Format, I have already achieved this level of code and it works fine (code below); however each report has a unique number in the database [ID] which I would like included in the title of the PDF when exported and saved?

Code so far:-

Private Sub Command20_Click()
Dim stReport As String
Dim stSubject As String

[Code]....

Me!Combo3 is a combobox on form which selects the number of the report to be viewed ,the user then sees a preview of their chosen report and then clicks Cmd20 to export to PDF, currently the file is named Rework Label Report when saved.

Modules & VBA :: Export DAT File With Delimited Format

Aug 20, 2014

I need to export a .dat file with delimited format (using ";")

I have tried the following:

DoCmd.TransferText acExportDelim, "ED File", "Employee Data Output", "c: estfilesfile1.dat", False, ""

But when I execute the code the following error is shown:

Run-time error '3027'

Cannot update. Database or object is read-only

Using the same structure "DoCmd.TransferText" but with the .txt extension in the file works perfect.

Also I have tried export the .dat file using DoCmd.OutputTo, but even if the export is done, the format is not kept.

How can I export the .dat file keeping the delimited format needed?

Modules & VBA :: Auto-export Query Record / Row To Text File

Oct 24, 2013

I have 3 queries that provide the same printer information. Each one is queried by a different field: IP address, asset tag, and serial number. This may not mean anything in the long run, though I figured it is worth mentioning.

The users need to be able to quickly query a printer utilizing one of those criteria and then copy and paste it into our ticketing system. Is there a way to automatically export the record from the query to a text file? I have extensively searched online and have tried to come up with something but I have found that I don't know where to start. This is the code for the query:

Code:
Dim intCount As Integer
intCount = 0
If DCount("Location", "Phone numbers Query") > 0 Then
intCount = intCount + 1
DoCmd.OpenQuery "", acViewNormal, acReadOnly

Modules & VBA :: Run A Query And Export To Specific Folder As Excel File

In VBA I have set a timer on a form to run a query and export to a specific folder as an excel file.

If I open the database as 'File Open' and open the form and let the timer run it exports perfectly.

As soon as I put the database into runtime - the Timer code kicks in and starts running but as soon as it hits the export line. It stops and then does nothing

I have tried several combinations of either:

- docmd.runsavedimportexport "Query"
- docmd.outputTo acquery etc ...

Modules & VBA :: Excel File Export Auto Cell Width?

Jun 26, 2014

I have the following code to export a query into a excel file:

Code:
Dim outputFileName As String
outputFileName = "C:AccountSpreadsheet est.xls"
DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet acExport, acSpreadsheetTypeExcel9, "Q_Search_Invoices", outputFileName, True
Dim xlApp As Object
Set xlApp = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
xlApp.Visible = True
xlApp.Workbooks.Open "C:AccountSpreadsheet est.xls", True, False
Set xlApp = Nothing

This works almost exactly how I want it to work.

The only thing wrong is that the columns are all the same width and they are all to narrow.

Is there a way to make the columns automatically become the width of the longest text within them (exactly what happens when you double click on the side of a squashed column in excel)?

Modules & VBA :: Export Specific Fields In Form To Excel Form

Feb 26, 2014

I have the form (PROJECT DETAILS) that displays a specific record's information, one record at a time.I would like to click a button to export 5 specific fields (name, phone, address) of that form ("Project Details"), based on the PK "AssignNr", and then insert those fields in an already created Excel form that has those fields blank, but other fields filled in.

And then, as part of the same macro, I want to have the Print pop-up come up in the Excel form to select where/how that file will get printed.I've tried exporting from the Project Details form, but it exports all the records. And then I am not sure how / where to code the vlookup formula (if that's even necessary) to take the data from the exported file, into the existing Excel form that needs to be filled in.

Can this even be done in one macro, or do I need to create two - one to export data from Access to Excel. And then another in Excel to vlookup the details from the exported file, into the existing Excel file.

It would be nice if I didn't have to put in what the vlookup criteria is. (i.e. AssignNr (which is the PK)) - if it could just be taken from the PROJECT DETAILS form's current record selection.

Modules & VBA :: Export From MS Access To PDF With Set Variables From Opened Form

Jul 9, 2015

I have been at this for almost 3 weeks now and I'm having great difficulties trying to get this right and working. First let me explain what I am doing and what I am trying to do.

Firstly, I am making a Maintenance database using MS access software, what I have are tables, forms and no queries or report existing so far. The forms and tables all work correctly.

After the form (Job request) has been completed I need to save/export into PDF so I am able to hyperlink it against its existing asset card elsewhere.

now what I have done is Created button, on event "on click" I have tried to go to macro builder

ExportWithFormatting
Objet Type: Form
Object Name: FrmMachineFault/GenMaint
Output format: PDF
Output file:
Auto Start: No
Template File:
Encoding:
Output Quality: Print

when I click this button it opens to save to and it works perfectly but I have to manually type the file name when it gets to the Save to section.

What I want it to do is define the name by the existing fields in the open form. Example Closed date, Effected area, Asset and title.

What I am hoping for is something like this.

10/07/15_Foundry_Furnace_LPG_Leak
(Closed date)_(Effected Area)_(Asset)_(Tittle)

Is this possible?

Need Help With A Tab Delimited File Export

Oct 10, 2005

What I am seeing is:

2 f GG H I J

I've tried a manual exort, using the Advanced tab for my specifications, with the same results.

If anyone can lend some ideas or suggestions, I would be very thankful.
