Modules & VBA :: How To Produce ACCDR Files From ACCDB Version
Oct 7, 2013
I have a database (accdb) out of which I want to generate accdr files of which user can only access / view the reports section ONLY. Looking for VB code which will generate employee wise (or any criteria) accdr files?????
I have a database that is saved as an accdr so it can be compiled for distribution as an exe..I have just found the accdr the exe installed and renamed to accrb and was then able to open it and view all the tables, forms etc.Obviously I cant stop someone renaming but if there was a way to stop the forms, tables etc opening.
I have a list of archive folders with unquie IDs and images files which have a version history.
I need to remove the history and just keep the latest archive version set of files. It seems an append query would be best but just can't think the best way todo it.
In the above example I only want to keep user 8769091 latest filename info from archive 3 and exclude the rest. I need todo this for over 3000 users who could have multiple versions.
I am trying to connect to an access database format 2003 from my access 2007 database. I would like to create a recordset from a table in the 2003 database and bind it to a listbox in my 2007 database.I tried to the following code that didn't work.
Code: Dim DNHConn As ADODB.Connection Dim Rs As ADODB.Recordset Dim connStr, xSource, xSys, xUsr, xPsw On Error GoTo errH
[code]....
When I try to execute that code, I get an error that the apllication can't start because the worgroup file is either missing or opened exclusive by another user.
I have to write a code for my database,i have folder with files "pending Review" and a table with column "tblExcelLocation". when i run my database all the files from pending review folder goes to "tblExcelLocation" on a click of button. But,if the files already exists it should not insert those files and insert the rest. For this i tried to write a code but i think i m unable to do that .
Code: Loop through files in folder folderspec = "O:QA FilesQC ReportingPending Review" Set fs = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set f = fs.GetFolder(folderspec) Set fc = f.files
I'd like to know if it is possible to copy an object (typically forms, reports and queries) by code from the acces file I'm woriking in to another one that is not opened.
I have been trying to come up with a solution for a problem I am having for a while to no avail. We have a backend database that stores various tables full of data. We then have a custom Excel Ribbon that connects to the database and pulls in the different tables depending on the user selection form the ribbon. Everything is working well on that end. The problem I am running into though is that in the development phase of the ribbon and database we had multiple versions and so there are still some people who are using old versions of the ribbon and therefore not connecting properly to the database. Is there some type of code I can add into the database and ribbon where it checks for a specific version to ensure the user is using the most recent version?
Basically, before any type of query is run to connect to the database the ribbon would have some sort of label on it somewhere and the database would check for that label and if it is correct, the code proceeds and if not a message box appears that tells the user they are not using the most current version of the ribbon and exits the sub?
I have created a runtime setup package for a friend to let her use my Access 2010 application, without having to purchase Access 2010. However, the ApplyFilter macro in one of the forms doesn't work in the runtime environment. The message suggested I use a SelectObject before ApplyFilter but that gave me another error.
A colleague sent me an .accdr file, and since I don't have Access, I was told to download Access Runtime. From other forums I see that I'm just supposed to be able to double-click the file to get it to open, but I cannot. The file is associated with .7s, and since I can't locate the Access Runtime program, I can't change the association.
I have just finished a 6 month long build of an access 2010 app.I have used the publish wizard to make it publishable. This has made the accdb to an accdr file. No my edit list form don't work when you right click. This seems to be an issue with accdr files. Is there a way to have a button on the form that when clicked does same think as the right click option for edit option selected.
I'm trying to write a simple little database. At one point on a form, I'm trying to merge all the pdf files in a particular folder. (I'm using the pdftke.exe program and there will be multiple pdf files)
It all works perfectly if I call it as below, with the actual paths already hard coded. It combines all the pdf files and renames it to the "merged filename.pdf" correctly
Dim stAppName1 As String stAppName1 = "C:a folder namepdftk.exe C:another folder nameprints*.pdf cat output C:folder where merged file will bemerged filename.pdf" Call Shell(stAppName1, 1)
However, I'm trying to have it work with the middle portion (the folder where all the pdf files are) being created on the fly so to speak.
The middle portion/path I have stored from a previous form and it's stored in a table.
So I'm trying the below, but doesn't seem to work.
Dim stAppName1 As String Dim combine_files As String combine_files = (this pulls a path from a stored field on the open form) + "" + CStr("*.pdf")
stAppName1 = "C:a folder namepdftk.exe (combine_files) cat output C:folder where merged file will bemerged filename.pdf" Call Shell(stAppName1, 1)
With the code above, it doesn't seem to do anything.
Basically what I am trying to accomplish is uploading multiples file automatically into server. The code I am trying to use works great if the user wants to upload a single file manually because the code prompts you to choose the file and I am wondering if there is a way to tweak the code. here is the code I am using
Code: Private Sub Form_Load() Dim objFTP As FTP Dim strfile As String
I added to my database a button to ouput the data to PDF. It works as it should. We do print out the letters in paper and put a copy in the folder from the client (connected with the ID nr). From time to time we need to attach a PDF document to the letter and combine it. My question is now if it is possible to have some code to the button that when it finish the output to PDF it will combine all the PDF files that are in the folder and put it in a second folder. After that, I need to put the combined PDF in another folder.
I have 200 excel files in folder C:UsersLburchDocumentsHistoric DataTedan Data in Excel Worksheets - CopyAAA - Copy. The files only have one worksheet and the column format are the same. Worsheet name is different for every file though.Headings in first row.write a macro to import into 1 Access table so I don't have to do it manually.
My report has tens of pages and I need to save each page as separate file with ID as filename. PDF prints with ID but all in one file. I use this code.
Option Compare Database Private Sub tisk() Dim cesta As String Dim kod As String Dim Sql As String Dim rs As Recordset
My database generates forms with a unique number displayed as a barcode. The paper forms are completed by employees and then scanned into a folder on the network in .TIFF format. I have seen other databases that can somehow pick up files like this and update the forms status in the database (i.e., Completed), assign a completion date and create a link to the file (a PDF actually).
I would really like my database to be able to do this but dont even know where to start. How do I get the file names for the .TIFF files to match the barcodes during the scanning process? How do I get Access to check a Completed field for each document in the folder? How do I get Access to put a link to the file in a field in the table?
the code below sends 3 reports to a folder that the vba creates if needed. I would like to change it so the 3 reports go to different folders and creates a folder with the customer name in each of the below folders if needed at present it looks table with one folder address is as I dont know how to make it look up the 3 different records in that table so I would like to just put the 3 folder address in the code
i want to browse the files from a form and then store hem to the database.i have the following code, i can show the file path to the text box but i don't know how to store the file or how to upload the file to the database.
Dim f As Object Dim strFile As String Dim strFolder As String Dim varItem As Variant
I have a folder that gets updated with a few new xml files every day. I need to import the data in these files into a table. The names of the files to import is in a field (FName) in a table (tblFiles).
What i would like to do is replace the DoCmd.OutputTo line with a DoCmd.SentTo line to email the reports to the appropriate faculty instead of just saving them in the folder.
I used this line but it did not work: DoCmd.SendObject (acSendReport, , acFormatPDF, "vtblfaculty.email&'@xxx.edu'","me@xxx.edu",,"test ","this is a test",-1,,)I have been working on this forever!
Public Sub something3() Dim db As Database Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Set db = CurrentDb Set rs = db.OpenRecordset("SELECT DISTINCT tblsection.Faculty, left(vtblfaculty.firstname,1)&vtblfaculty.lastname AS fn, vtblfaculty.email FROM vtblfaculty INNER JOIN tblsection ON tblsection.faculty=vtblfaculty.faculty WHERE term=" & Forms!frmimport!cbxTerm)
I've question reqarding modyfying tags (metadata ) in jpg files.
I've found some code which allow to read tags from jpg files through vba but only read - editing is not possible.
So my question is: vba code which allow modify tags in jpg files? {Below code for reading tags, requires to turn on following reference in vba editor: Microsoft Shell controls and Automation )
Public Function getFileMetadata(fileFolder As String, fileNm As String, _ metadataType As String) As String Dim objShell As Shell32.Shell Dim objFolder As Shell32.Folder Dim objFolderItem As Shell32.FolderItem
