The query has a prompt so when you click the button the prompt pops up.
However if nothing is entered you get a VB error 94 error.
How do i get it to show a msgbox if the search is empty?

I'm aiming to create a stacked area chart to display the progress of multiple projects over time, so we can review and forecast project load over time.
The data comes from this table:
tblProject
* ProjectID
* DateProspect
* DateConfirmed
* DateStarted
* DateComplete
A project passes through the statuses Prospect, Confirmed, Started, Complete. The current status of each is calculated in qryStatus from the dates in tblProject. The past and forecast statuses for each project will probably be calculated each time the chart is created (or maybe not necessarily so?)
To create the stacked area chart, the x-axis will be months (e.g. Sept 2013 - July 2015). On the y-axis will be the count of ProjectID, and the series will be the different project statuses.
The sticking point is getting from the Date* fields to the past and forecast statuses in each month. After that I imagine it'll be reasonably straightforward to put into a pivot/chart.

I have a Form that is modal and popup, and which opens without the MS Access in the background. It is like a separate window (piece of program) that runs under Windows XP.
If I move the Form on my screens (I have dual monitors) I would like that the messages that are triggered by various actions to appear on top of the form not - for example - on the other screen .
I can add more info if necessary.

Is there a way to get a msgbox to show only when the db is open for the first time. So basically what I want is when I push an update it will auto check to see if the db is current if not then it closes an opens the new db. When it opens the new db i want it to display a msg box or form that shows the new updates. Then if they exit an reopen it wont show the option.

This code is working in two ways:
If I go with "SetProgressBar n / NOS" then progress bar shows 2% and then connecting process time.
Or
If I go with "SetProgressBar n + NOS" then progress works till 100% but then connecting process time.
Also
SetProgressBar (n / NOS) * 100 but then connecting process time.
I have some vba that ends with a text box being displayed that says "file created"
I would like to add to that text box how long it took.
My initial thoughts are to add to the start of the code a variable that stores the current time (stTime)
and at the line before the text box is shown get the time again (endTime) and subtract one from the other to get the time taken in mins and sec

I want a progress bar in a form that will increase from bottom to top . The data will from Access table. The bar will start from 0 to Maxvalue. The Maxvalue will be calculated as below:
Total number of batches in the table/ No. of working days between 14072014 and 31112014 / 2
So the above calculation will define the range of a progress indicator.
And now we have to show the % percentage that means how many batches have been scanned for today. For this the following calculations will be used:
Count total batches where scandate=today and scannedby<>null
Now this will show the percentage in the bar that means hopw much work has been completed.
The progress bar should move from bottom to top when % increases.
I have query that creates table with 2 records each with 2 columns (2x2) and they do not have indexed ID,and query is related to combo box in other form so results are not always same but it is always (2x2) and value types are always same,
So how to show those results in text box in form,lets say 4 text boxes ,every value in one text box, i assume that i need to use DLookup() but i was able only to show first record,did not know what criteria put to go to second record.
When i select that query and create report i get what i want but i cant copy those text boxes to form that i want.

right my problem is that I have loads of check boxes and text boxes on my main form on the form that records the main form I have a field call "new value" this is a text box but if I change a checkbox on the main form it will show -1 or 0 in the new value field on the recording form but I would like it to say yes or no I have tried the following

I have a log in screen called frmLogIn and on there i have Unbound Combo Box cboUser and Unbound Text Box txtPWord. I also have cmdOK.
IF the user sucesfully enters his password it takes him to frmMainMenu.
On that form i have a lable called lblYouAreCurrentlyLoggedInAs and a unbound text box called txtUserName.
How do i update that txtUserName to whatever was entered in the previous form's cboUser.
i want to be able to create an On Click Event when pushing a command button that will run an Update query to update a record and after it has been updated that specific record will pop up on a Form and be displayed. i know a different way is to run the Update query and then have it displayed in a Select query but i want it to be displayed on a Form instead. is it possible?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am provided a spreadsheet that contains multiple rows of similar data; each row/record represents a different stage in the process of financial transactions (requisition, purchase order, & voucher payment). Each financial transaction has these three records, with the amounts in one of three columns (pre-encumbrance, encumbrance, and expense), depending on the process.
What I am really after is the fuller, more detailed description that is apparently only available for the two records I don't want to import into the database (which is tracking only expenses and not the other two stages of the process). There is apparently no way to cross-reference these multiple rows due to the way the original database was designed (and we apparently have no control over this).
After importing the spreadsheet into Access, I would like to match the partial text string (truncated description) to the full description in another record, and update the record with the truncated description to the full description. To make mattes more complicated, I will also have to match values in the "pre-enc" or "enc" field with the "exp" field across these three records to make sure the correct descriptions are being matched because the truncated description will match multiple distinct records with the longer description.

I have a form I use to search for clients when I hit a command button, using surname etc. I'd like a yes no button to pop up rather than the clunky ok button route I currently have. I'm a beginner with VBA and most this I've gleaned from internet.
If there are matching results, everything is fine. If there are no matching results, I've managed to get my desired messagebox come up by using the code below in the onload event of the resulting search results form, however the yes no buttons do nothing and the results form loads blank as though no records were found.
I'd like Yes to send users to the client input form, and No to return them to the search form.

However, the users continue to forget to click the Find Client button and instead just type what name they are looking for in the LASTNAME control thus changing the record that they are currently in!!!
I am looking for a way to have a msgbox pop up any time the LASTNAME control is changed. I found the code below but this works for the entire record and I don't want them to have to click Yes every time they make change.
