For example I want to sum up all columns containg 2013 as a column name.

Feb 25, 2015I have a Memo field that is used to be a description of a document. I don't know what the user will put in (could be anything), but it is eventually passed in a string to a query, etc.I discovered during testing that if an apostrophe is entered (Ex: This document explains how to deal with Joe's pleasant disposition.), it breaks my code. I then realized that all reserved words and characters would cause this problem.
I can get around this one just by using Replace(str, "'", "''"). However, I know there are others that will cause problems, and I don't want to end up with a string of replace statements just to fix them.

I would like to develop a function that takes a string that is made up of three parts or more and each part is separated by an underscore "_", space, or "&". There is no character that takes precedence over the other. It will always be only a single character which seperates the parts.
The check will always be done from the left. It should carry out the following actions:
1. Display all characters from the left until it reaches the first seperator "_" underscore OR "space" or "&"
2. Check only Part1 if it is made up of 4 letters and the rest 6 numbers (see 1-3 above). If that is the case only return part 1.
3. If part one only has letters and no numbers (see above 4-5) return all parts. Part one can consist of two letters or more.
I have started the function for step 1 above that searches for the character "_" underscore and display all characters until the first "_" is reached. I would like to include the same for "Space" or "&" in this function.
Once that is done I would like to do step 2 and step 3.

If the ID10 is not existing anymore i still have the table 10 left and then i have to delete this table.

Feb 20, 2014I use the below code as part of a database which creates documents and then saves them using data from the form fields.
Every now and again one of the form fields contains a "special" character such as /,@,& and this prevents the file from saving.
Is there a simple addition to the below code to remove special characters from the file name if there is one present?
It causes all sorts of issues as many people don't realise that there has been a problem until it is too late.

I have contracts with a running time of 4 years, 6years, 8 years, 10 years and 12 years.
I have for each contract a different Excel file.
The users can choose via an Inputbox, which contract he wants to Export in Excel. In the Inputbox he enters the SuWID.
Now i want that the the Excel file with the Special running time get opened.
4 years ----> ("C:UsersGRIMBENDesktop4years.xlsm")
6 years ----> ("C:UsersGRIMBENDesktop6years.xlsm")
and so on.

Jul 29, 2013I have an asset database I am designing to manage our computer inventory and assets.
I am trying to get a DLookup to work with one of my forms that will auto-populate some of the fields depending on what is entered in to the ProductID field. For instance, Make, Model, Asset type...
My problem is that the string that returns contains special characters, specifically "#" and gives me the error message -
Run-time error '3075':
Syntax error in date in query expression 'productID=EN371UA#ABA'.
My expression is definitely working, it just looks like it things it has something to do with date/time which it does not. Unfortunately, most HP equipment contains a # in the Product ID number.
Here is my expression -

Nov 30, 2014I need to input a string into a column named "EventType". The code should first check if the column "Agent Name" contains any strings. If there is none, it will input "IBM Director" into the EventType column.
Once it has looped through the agent names, the code will then loop through the Details column and input into EventTypes based on what is displayed within the string.
These are the codes that I am using to achieve this, however nothing is being input into the EventType column.

I think the problem lies with the code that checks the agent name. When I removed it, it managed to populate the EventType column based on the details. But I still need to find out how to check the agent name too.

May 15, 2014I am trying to populate an email out of VBA with information from a form.The data that is being pulled for RMA Initiated By in the next to last line pulls the index number instead of the 2nd column which is the name. How can I specify which column to pull from? I checked my properties for the table and the form and the column widths are 0";1" , but I can't figure out how to grab that second column in my VBA code.

Special Form

I need your help.
in a budget application I'ma making, I have a table with all the budgets names, a table with the 12 months of the year, and a table with the budget, the months and the amount allocated for every budget topic for every month.
In order to facilitate the yearly view, i would like to build a special form that shows all the budgets for every month. Each column would be a diffetent month, the fist one being filled by the budget topics (a bit like an axecl sheet).
How can I build this form?
It is very helpfull for the application because it helps the user to fill the budgets month by month, but with keeping a yearly view (instead of having a long list of 3 columns, 1 for the budgets names, one fir the monthes, and one for the amounts).

When passing a string to be absolved via html, if I set myHtmlBody = "<font color="#000FF"></font> it will throw a syntax error because of the # character.

I only want to count the values with the associated values in column 'OrderNumber'. I am getting the values of 'OrderNumber' from an array. Here is my code...(it doesn't work though. Since the spreadsheet doesn't have column headers, I keep getting Run-time error '2391' - Field '0000000' doesn't exist in the destination table ... my table name.How can I import the data from a spreadsheet so that it ignores the fact that there is no column headers?

Some of the output I'm getting is:

No matter what the original string length is, something is adding extra spaces and forcing it to 25 in the new record. This is the only field I've been able to identify with this issue. Column definition is char(25), no indexes or anything special that I can tell.
Tried adding a left() function call after the assignment but that didn't work either.
