Modules & VBA :: Including Parameter Fields In Report Title?

Aug 28, 2013

I am running an Access 2003 report that outputs to an Excel Spreadsheet The parameter query has two paramerters First Date and Last Date. The report runs from an Button OnClick event. I need to include the two dates in the 'name' of the spreadsheet as below

Private Sub btn_report_between_dates_Click()
DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputQuery, "qry_all_calls_between_dates", acFormatXLS, "Calls By Between Dates " First Date" and " Last Date" - Date Report Run " & Format(Date, "dd-mm-yyyy") & ".xls", True
End Sub

(btw I know it is preferable to use the TransferSpreadsheet method, but I've not got around to that way yet)

Modules & VBA :: Adding Another Parameter To Code For Report?

Dec 5, 2013

I am trying to add another parameter to a report to only get those specific records. I did not write the code and am very confused on how it works. Right now it is getting records in the Access database between the 2 dates entered. But NOW I need to add a parameter to select only records between those dates AND with the AccountNumber LIKE acctltr (this is the field from the form). They can either put in an "X" or an "P X". The AccountNumber needs to end in which ever one they enter.

Here is the code that is currently existing and supposedly works. At least it gets all the records between the dates even tho it still prints records with a ZERO balance.

Code:
Private Sub cmdprint_Click()
On Error GoTo exit_cmdprint
'mysql = "SELECT * from InvoiceTable " & _
' " WHERE ((not InvoiceTable.InvoicePrintDate1 Is Null) AND (not InvoiceTable.InvoicePrintDate2 Is Null) AND (InvoiceTable.InvoicePrintDate3 Is Null) AND (InvoiceTable.InvoiceDate Between #" & dtefrom & "# And #" & dteto & "#))"
'Me.RecordSource = mysql

Importing CSV W/report Title Stripped Out..

Nov 14, 2006

I need to import a .csv file into a table. The problem is the top title information is on the file, like below. I do not want to import report name, report date, include rows, number of rows, and the blank space. I need to start the import on the header row. This looks fine in excel of course, but when i need to import it into access, there is no need for it. How do i either strip that out during the import or skip it.

sample csv file:

----------------------------------------------------
Report name: xxxxxx
Report date: xxx
Include rows where.....
Number of row: xxxx

date,firstname,lastname,dollar,address,text
10/4,john,smith,888,12 w st,,
10/4,jane,smith,7575,34 w st,,

----------------------------------------------------

Any help would be great! Thanks!

Reports :: Report To PDF With Custom Title

Oct 15, 2013

I am using the built in Access macro editor to run a number of reports which are called for arguments sake ClientPartA, ClientPartB etc..My macro so far simply opens on a button click each of these reports and populates a number of text fields (all this is working fine)

Where my problem lies is I then want to export each of these reports to a central network location "L:Operations DatabaseProjects1042Outputfile. I have been using the command 'ExportWithFormatting' and have filled out the macro element with;

Object Type: Report
Object Name ClientPartA
Output Format: PDF Format (*.Pdf)
Output File: L:Operations DatabaseProjects1042Outputfile
Auto Start: No
Template File (no info)
Encoding (no info)
Output Quality Print

Now all my data is pulling from a form called 'Client' and the field 'RecipientsAccountNumber'..I thought I would be able to export the file(s) as PDF with the output file being written as;

Output File: L:Operations DatabaseProjects1042Outputfile Forms![Client]![RecipientsAccountNumber] & " - ClientPartA"

saving the form to the named directory as '300300300 - ClientPartA'..What in reality is happening is it's saving the file to the named directory not as a PDF and with the file name of 'Forms![Client]![RecipientsAccountNumber]

Modules & VBA :: If No Selection Made Show All Values Including Null?

Sep 4, 2014

I have a Form with multiple comboboxes and listboxes whose selections are assembled into a query. The combo-box selection goes into an IF-ELSE statement for a selection check (IsNull) and if there is no selection made, it is supposed give me all values (Blanks & Non Blanks)

Here is a sample of my code:

Code:
If IsNull(Me.cbReg.Value) Then
RegStrng = " Like '*'"
Else
RegStrng = Me.cbReg.Value
RegStrng = "= " & RegStrng
End If

I have several If-Else statements here and a final query assembly at the bottom of the code page which is as follows

Code:
MasterSql = "SELECT DISTINCT blah-blah-blah" & _
" INTO some more blah-blah" & _
" FROM even more blah-blah-blah" & _
" WHERE dbo_mytable.[Reg#]" & RegStrng & _
" AND the results from other If-Else statements similar to above"

Here is where the problem comes in:

I see the mistake in my If-Else statement

Code:
If IsNull(Me.cbReg.Value) Then
RegStrng = " Like '*'"

Like * means it will show me all rows where there are NON-Blanks. However, it skips all Blank Data.

What should the If IsNull() statement look like if I want to show all the values?

If there was only one combo-box and there was no selection made, then the resultant query should show me all results rather than only the results where there is some sort of data within the column filtered by the combobox.

Query From (and Including) Date - Thru (and Including) Date

Jun 16, 2006

Access 2000
Hi All.

I am running a select query on a date field.

I populate the table "date" field from a Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0(SP6).
I havent been able to figure out how to ONLY populate the date portion of the control so my field value containes Date & Time.

When I run the query, I have to select the day after my request to include the records I need. I think this is because of the time in the field
Example, If I want all records thru 6/17/2006 I must select "thru" 6/18/2006. This mucks things up if I have records dated 6/18/2006

Both of these statements give the same bad results:

Between [forms]![freports]![from] And [forms]![freports]![thru]

>=[forms]![freports]![from] And <=[forms]![freports]![thru]

Any ideas?
TIA
Detrie

Report Requests Parameter Value

Aug 4, 2006

Hello ... by problem:

Explanation:

Table has a single field (AllocAmt) that is repeated for each detail transaction. Therefore I can't put the sum of the single field on the report because it adds that sum times the count of the detail.

The solution I attempted was to create a subreport using a summarized query then divided the summarized AllocAmt by the count of the same field and got what I wanted. It worked beautifully. I named the calculated field and then created a sum of the new field (SumAllocAmt) in the subreport report footer. I ran the subreport and my totals came out fine.

Then I added the subreport to the original report and the information for each grouping came out fine.

Now my problem ... when I call the field ('=srptAllocAmt.Report!TotalSumAllocAmt") I created in the subreport report footer it does not give me the total for all groups in the original report. In fact it gives me the last record amount instead of a total. When I enter the expression "=Sum([sprtAllocAmt].[Report]![TotalSumAllocAmt])" and try to run the report a box pops up requesting a "Parameter Value" for the field sprtAllocAmt.Report!TotalSumAllocAmt. Why doesn't it recognize that I want a sum of the field contained in the subreport? I've gone to the properties box in all the subreport fields and made the data available "overall". I don't know what else to try. Any suggestions?

Query With Parameter To Select Certain Fields

Jan 12, 2008

Hi, I need help in creating a parameterized query.

I need to show only certain fields depending on the value of the parameters.
For example, I have a table with fields: ID, Name, Phone Number, Address, DOB.
The parameter can only be value of A, B or C.
If the user input A as the parameter in the query, only field ID, and Name will be shown
If the user input B as the parameter in the query, field ID, Name and Phone Number will be shown.
etc.

Is there any way to do this, rather than to separate the query into 3 queries for each of the parameters? Thank you.

Queries :: One Parameter For Multiple Fields

May 20, 2013

Is there a way to have one parameter in a query effect multiple fields?I have a table that details service calls on our equipment. There are columns in that table for each part of the equipment that get marked, depending on what needed serviced (i.e. software, printer, keypad, monitor, etc). I would like to be able to run a query that will show all the service calls where one part of the equipment was serviced multiple times without have to enter multiple parameters or write a union query (there would need to be 11 unions or 11 parameters for each part to be captured). For example, I would want to know how many pieces of equipment had 3 or more service calls on their software. I want to run the query without having to say that I don't care how many service calls were performed on the printer, monitor, or keypad. I would like to be able to say "Software >3" and have the query run on that information.

Enter Parameter Value When Fields Are Correct

Jul 8, 2015

I have used the Data tab on a property sheet for a field in a report to build this expression (using expression builder) as the control source "=IIf([AllSchoolContacts].[Email]>" ",[AllSchoolContacts]![Email],[EmailAddress])" When I view the report I get the Enter Parameter Value dialog labelled AllSchoolContacts

I have added the fields to the expression using the expression builder the sources for the report are a table and a query in the REPORT.

The tables are AllSchoolContacts and Non Metro Query.

What I am trying to do is to have the record line show the email address for the organisation if the email address field in the AllSchoolContacts is blank.
