Modules & VBA :: Load Specific Email Items To Access Table
Jul 8, 2014
In my Access app, I need to be able to retrieve a specific email by date/time, then take the Subject, the Date received and body of that email and save it to a column in a table.how to do this in Access VBA?
I have a Word 2010 document linked to an Access 2010 data source. When a user clicks a button in Access, the Word document loads and performs a email merge using the below VBA code:
Private Sub Document_Open() With ActiveDocument.MailMerge .Destination = wdSendToEmail .SuppressBlankLines = True
[Code] ....
However, as the .mailsubject part is not in the loop it is only retrieving the first Return Code. I have tried to integrate in the loop to no avail. Also, how do I add static text to the Subject, I need something like "Your Return Code" + "Return Code"..
I am currently in the process of creating a form that will allow you to enter details for an email sent, select a number of documents from a list box and then open the mail message pre-written with attachments. The attachments reside in a list box currently, and I am attempting to use a "For Each" with item selected.column(3) as the file path, as column(3) contains the filepath from the table.
Currently my code is:
Private Sub OutlookBut_Click() Dim olApp As Object Dim objMail As Object Dim varItm As Variant On Error Resume Next Set olApp = GetObject(, "Outlook.Application")
[Code] ....
When this code runs, outlook will open as a process when it is closed, but then freeze and not allow me to see it or access it in anyway. If Outlook is opened Microsoft office usually gets angry at me and decides to throw error messages at me.
I have the below code behind a form so that a combo box will display a specific list of items based on the data in another combo box on my form.
I have two copies of this same form for two different departments. One of the forms works like a dream. However, when I copy that form, change the name, and update the code as pictured below, the form is asking for a parameter FROM MY ORIGINAL FORM and will not requery the combo box. I can't figure out why...there is no reference to the original form in my VBA as you can see below. I tried deleting the form and re-creating it, I tried deleting the code and re-typing it to no avail.
Private Sub cmboType_AfterUpdate() Me.cmboAction.RowSource = "SELECT tblStatusList.Status FROM tblStatusList WHERE (((tblStatusList.Department)=[forms]![frmInquiryFraud]![cmboType]));" End Sub
Currently have an Access db filled with different departmental information. Trying to build a workflow mechanism that will validate the status of a certain "Event".
70-80 different projects in one table. This table has Due Date for the project in itlAll of the days between milestones are static. There are 18 different Milestones covered by 6 departments.Table built to hold status of project. which includes notes for every milestone and date completed. 37 fields (date and memo field each with id number to relate back to project table
A generated email that emails the parties who are late or their milestone is upcoming. (can do this already, but see the other requirement)When users receive email they need to reply in the email that was sent to them the date and what the result of what they did in the email. Users will be using mobile devices, laptops and desktops to respond.Could use Collect Data feature, but it is not easily manipulated with vb. Also, it will not all information to be edited in a query.
I need some simple code that will copy an Excel file or a table in Access to a specific location on an FTP server. I would think this would be a very simple task, but I have yet to find any sample code that is *simple*. I have seen lots of code that requires downloading this dll or that mda, but the examples don't work. There must be something built into MS Access 2010 that will allow a file to be uploaded to an FTP site.
All the variables are known:
The FTP location (it never changes) The FTP Username and Password (they never change) The destination folder on the FTP site (it never changes) The File type (it never changes) The File name (available from the form in Access from which this will be executed)
I can either produce an output file, then copy it to the FTP site, or I can export the table directly to the FTP site with the file name for that day.
This seems to be a very simple task with no simple solution. Currently I am using an FTP app to get the file to the FTP site, but I would like to automate this. The process that creates the output file is already automated, so I would just like to add this to the existing code as its own module.
just made all that above up and none of it is a real function/command in VBA, but is just the kind of thing I'm looking for.
I would think that since I can download and XML file from an FTP site that it should be child's play to upload a simple file to an FTP site, but I can't figure it out.
I have a database that I can use to create a query, grouping companies by city. I then want to send a specific email I have created in outlook to all of the email addresses in the query.I do not need to include names.
I am trying to figure out how to make a button that sends an email to a specific email address, containing the information from 1 row.
we have rows where we put the the address, the quantity and the time interval we can collect the packages in. these information have to be send to a trucking company. I want access to send an email to the trucking company's email address, and not a whole report of all the rows, but be able to choose to send row 1,2,3 etc.
Hi, i cannot load posts from a specified date and time
PostDate = now()
'AID = accountID of the poster
'read post after added into DB Set rsForum = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") strForumSQL = "Select * From tblPost where tblPost.PostDate = '"&PostDate&"' and tblPost.PostBy = "&AID&"" rsForum.Open strForumSQL, strForumCon,3,3 PostID = rsForum("PostID")
I gets an error when posting messages, i think is because: tblPost.PostDate = '"&PostDate&"'
PostDate is no text field, its a Date field and i tried to use this symbol: ' around postdate, i also tried to not use it, but then i gets another error:
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'tblPost.PostDate = 12/11/2005 10:32:50 AM and tblPost.PostBy = 6'.
but that is because the date/time format uses spaces. How can i fix this?
I'm trying to add items received to my inventory table. If the item is already in the table, I just want to update the number and cost etc. If the item is not in the inventory table I want to add it. My problem is determining which item in the source table is already in the target table so I can either update of add. how to find an item number in target table by looping through the source table?
Here's the code I've written which doesn't work.
Dim I As Integer Dim db As Database Dim rs As Recordset Dim rs2 As Recordset Set rs = Nothing Set rs2 = Nothing Set db = CurrentDb
I have a list box that allows multiple selections [Inventory]. I also have a combo box that has multiple selections [Shows].
Right now, user selects from list box and from a combo box and clicks a button. On button click, the items from the list box are associated with the PK from the combo and stored in a junction table. This allows me to quickly associate many inventory items to one show.
I realized that there I currently have no way to prevent duplicate Inventory+show records in the junction table besides having a composite key. This would be fine except no records get inserted into the junction table if there's a duplicate entry.
Ideally, I think that the user should select from the combo box [Shows]. This should narrow down what shows up in the list box [Inventory] in a way that Inventory items already associated with the show are not displayed.
If I have 10 Inventory items and Inventory items 1-5 are already associated with Show 1; after I select the combo box, the list box only displays Inventory items 6-10.
Here's the associated code
Option Compare Database Option Explicit Private Sub cmdAddRecords_Click() Dim strSQL As String Dim db As DAO.Database Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Dim ctl As Control
hello once again Scenario: I currently have a form that the users can browse through listings of items for sale. While going through the records, they can mark with a checkbox of which items to include in a report to send in an email. The check box is currently part of the listings table, and i then run a query to pull items with the box checked, then put those in to a report, then they can email.
Problem: about 5 users use this database, so if one user is selecting items that they want it's going to cause a problem for another user to select only the items he wants since it is all updating to the same table. Ex, if I select items 2 and 3 and another person selects items 4 and 5, when I click to show the report, its going to show items 2,3,4,5. Make sense?
Solution: Since there are only 5 users, I made them all aware of this, and also created a reset selected email checkbox button, that sets the checkbox back to unchecked so the next person can select their own items and email. There has to be a better way to fault proof this, I just can't think of one. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I'm having an issue with pound signs in my table for specific items. I've create a DB that when you click a command button it opens a form and in the form it has a notes field. In the notes field once where i had data is now pound signs.
The DB is setup so when you click another command button to close out, it saves the record. It works 98% of the time but the i'm concern about the other 2% of the time.
using Ms acess 2007 this code is working fine buuutttt....
This one worked, but sent everyones records DoCmd.SendObject _ acSendReport, _ "Contact Report", _ acFormatHTML, _ "realridergmail.com", _
[code]...
I need it to send just the records belonging to the customer, they shouldnt be able to see anyone elses.how to send the dates that belong only to each customer?
I have a report that I run which has PT_Ins_ID in it, I am trying to edit that row with the following code.
Code: Private Sub cmd_Deact_Click() Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("dbo_Patient_Insurance") If rs.RecordCount <> 0 Then With rs
[code]....
I've also tried this.
Code: Dim rs_PI As DAO.Recordset Set rs_PI = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("dbo_Patient_Insurance")
How would I set up an Outlook email using a list of recipients from an Access table? I'd like to be able to run this from Access 2007 and not Outlook. However, once the email is set up, I'd like to be able to go into the email and add subject, body, etc. before sending the email.
I would like to update the following code I have been using to send emails, from Access 2010 via Outlook 2010, to include my signature block with hard returns in between each line and a few above the signature.
Lets say the signature would be: My Name My Company Name My phone number My Reference
I tried next to: stMessage = Me![EmailMessage] &"My Name" & Chr(10) & Chr(13) & "My Company Name"
etc.
It does not work..
Here is the coding :
Code: Private Sub SendEmail_Click() On Error GoTo ProcErr Dim stLinkCriteria As String
In order to act as a system, I would like to have a function or windows firstly displayed all the folder names in a drive, and then allow user to locate/select freely a folder among different folders. Is there anything for my reference or for me to start??
I am trying to email a group of records in a table and with the code I have written, it just loops to the first record in the recordset and will not move down to the next record. Below is my code.
Code: Private Sub TestOutlook() Dim db As Database Dim rstMail As Recordset Dim appOutlook As Outlook.Application Dim MailOutlook As Outlook.MailItem
Is it possible to use VBA or macros to open a table to a specific record?
I know how to open a table in database view using a command button. I'd like to have it open to or automatically scroll to and select a specific record, based on the content of the form. This way I don't have to spend time scrolling through the whole table to try and find the desired record.
