Modules & VBA :: Navigation Form - Filter On Subform Not Working

I have a navigation form which has two subforms on it (ie 2 tabs linking to different forms). I have got aq filter working for one of the forms but not on the other. This is using

The problem is that it does not work on subform B because the Contract field does not exist.
I have a form that uses a listbox. I can select multiple items and then update a subform. When I press a button with VBA and use the filter property on the subform for the first time, nothing happens. When I press the button a second time, it does - and it works thereafter with different selections. It only happens that first time, after loading the form and pressing the button for the first time.
I have tested that the list items are accessible via the vba variables and stepping through my code and the problem starts with the filter properties.
is not switched on first time (I have tried a requery and refresh statement after this). When I step through the code the first time, the FilterOn property remains false. A second button press and it is fine.

When I goto one of my subforms I can activate the form filter. When executing the form filter no records show up, it just keeps showing my criteria. When disactivating the form filter I receive an error message telling that my view must be misspelled (it's about spaces). My view is called Vw_people , as a record source it works fine so it can't be misspelled.
Is the problem the adp connection or the subform? I don't know
I have a form with two subforms. One subform is a datasheet that pulls data from a temp table. During the other subforms Form_Current, the temp table is emptied (DoCmd.RunSQL "Delete from tblAddRefs"), reloaded with data relevent to the current record, and requeried (Forms("frmEDFP").Controls("tblAddRefs subform").Requery). This works like I want it to...
With the exception of the initial load of the main form. The subform based on a table shows (#Deleted) instead of data. if I step through the code, I can see that the temp table is emptied and repopulated by the time I try to requery the subform. This is still happening during the Form_Current of the other subform, which is successfully running on main form load.
If I requery (Forms("frmEDFP").Controls("tblAddRefs subform").Requery) using a button on the main form once it is loaded, the #deleted data is correctly is replaced by regular data, so it's like the requery in the Form_Current event isn't doing anything during load.
I am updating an existing database and I have a parent/child form and I want to filter the subform for the current parent form record? The two forms are linked together by woWorkOrderID/deWorkOrderID.
So I have a search form that I created that has also a subform (a continous form, that has a query as its source) where my records are listed. I started on making a Between dates filter where i would be able to pick dates and get the results of records that are in that range.
I put two text boxes in which I set format to Short Date so that I get the button to select the date from a calendar for each text box. Then I made a button that is only for this and added a Clickon code so that it filters my subform over the recordsource of the form. The problem is is that i get an error and it doesn't filter.

I have a form with a bottom that has a macro that uses applyfilter to filter the current form based on what is within a textbox located on the form.
I used the macobuilder and have my where condition as
[num] Like "*" & [Forms]![frm_Main]![Text181] & "*" Or [name] Like "*" & [Forms]![frm_Main]![Text181] & "*"
This works when I open the form by itself but when I try adding the form to a navigation form I get prompted to put in "num" and "[Forms]![frm_Main]![Text181] " etc. when I click the bottom.
I am using the Navigation form and I have a tab that has all the sales quotes for a particular salesperson. Because my salespeople like to work with paper I have created sub tabs which contain a report with the same information but filtered based as follows: this Month, this year, and Last year. This report needs to be printable based on the filtered information so I created a print button within the report however when clicked it prints the entire report not the filtered report.
The filter criteria is located in the navigation button, navigation where under the data properties. I have the on click event of the button set to open the report in print preview but I need to know how I filter the where in the macro to read the criteria from the active navigation button property?
I want to create a navigation form, or any form for that matter that has an embedded report. The report has data arranged by ClientID. I would like to create buttons down the left side of my form (why I thought a navigation form could work) where I can put the client name on the buttons and when I click them the report will filter to only show that clients data. I have client tables and the report data linked in queries, but just need to know how to get started with these buttons acting as ID sorters.
For example: ClientID: 1 = Client: ABC Corp
In my report ClientID 1's data is grouped along with all other client ID's.
In my form I'd like buttons down the left side with ABC Corp written on it (followed by buttons for the other clients) and then when I click the ABC Corp button only ABC Corp's data shows on the page from the embedded report...
I'm working in Access 97 and I've got a form that I want to use to create filters with.
There are a couple of things that I'm not clear about and I'd appreciate any suggestions that you can make:
1. The form seems to remember the last filter, so when I click on the Filter by form button it shows the last filter by default. I've included the following in the click event: RunCommand (acCmdRemoveFilterSort) Me.FilterOn = False RunCommand (acCmdFilterByForm) Surely either of the first two statements should remove the filter, shouldn't they? and if not then what are they for?
2. I can't get the 'OR' tabs to show at the bottom of the filter by form screen unless I apply the filter once and then click on the filter by form button again. Is there any way of forcing these tabs to appear?
I have a report "Work Order Details" that that is based on a query and opens along with a form that is used to set filters. Based on samples I have looked at and reading, I cannot figure out what is missing. When I select my item form one of 5 unbound combo box 's and click the "Set filter" button, it brings up a paramter box?? If I cancel out the box, I still don't get a result. Just for the heck of it, I filled in a name in the paramter box, still no luck. The report property has "Filter On" as YES. The close button, clear button, and drops downs operate perfectly.

I have a Navigation form that has multiple forms that I linked to buttons at the top. They open the forms (now subforms) for the most part just fine. The issues come into play when I click on a combobox that pulls from a query of a table. Once this data is selected I have another combo box that is supposed to be filtered based off of the original combo box selection. Everything works on the original forms but once they are in subform form I get the error "Forms!MGM Search Form!STATE" which is the name of one of the forms and its asking for me to enter a parameter value for the query. Its almost like its not requerrying the data like it does in the original form

basically the first combo box is a list of states and then the second combo box is a list of facilities in that state. Once you click on the state in the first combo box it filters the facilities in that state. But again once in the subform view it will not requery.
Every time i try to get info from a sub form or its table ,Things never sem to work.Is there something special you have to do for eg maybe going via the main form?I am trying to use dsum as an alternative to multiplying info in the sub form.This is the code
I'm working on the Navigation Form template in Access 2010, which is new to me. It appears that one needs to use the BrowseTo command to open up a form in the built-in subform module. I'm trying to create a couple of buttons where each button opens a form in a different data mode; one in read-only and one in add mode. Here is the syntax I used for read-only:
frmSales is the Sales form I want both of the buttons to open and frmNavigation is the Navigation form. It seems to be ignoring the data mode part at the end however. It only will open in Edit mode. Is there something I'm doing wrong with this command?
I have an Access 2010 application and I'm having trouble referring to properties in my subform withon a Navigation form. Based on a selection in a Combo Box, I need to change the filter on the subform. The relevant forms are:
Main Navigation Form = frmAdminNav "Standard" Navigation Subform = NavigationSubForm My Subform = frmShowInventory
How do I refer to the Filter property on frmShowInventory?
I have created a master form, which is a tab style. I have five additional forms that I want to use as sub-forms within each tab. I also want to include master navigation buttons that will work for each sub-form in unison. In other words if I navigate to record 10 on tab 1 and switch to tab 2, I want the new tab to show the information related to record 10. It would appear that I need to link them together in some fashion.

I have a navigation form, a navigation subform, and then a subform. When I click the save button on the navigation subform, i need the data entered in two fields on the subform to save in a table. the subform is based on a query. This is what I currently have on the the button's onClick event:

I recently made a new version of our database complete with forms, querys etc.. using Access 2010. It looked good and nice, but we encountered an unexpected problem. In all forms that contains memo-type fields quick filter is not working (there is no lists, checkboxes etc..). My users really like quick filters and are understandably irritated. I would understand if this disappearance would affect only memo-type fields, but it affects ALL the fields.
I also know that there are problems with memos in Access 2010. I have tried to make new forms, but every time I add memo fields quick filter stops functioning. I have also tried to change properties, options and what not, but to no use. In older versions of our forms this feature works just fine, but they were made in older version of Access (don't know which since oldest ones are from year 2003). Television
have set up a navigation form which contains 5 unbound subforms that are made visible or not visible thru the on click event of command buttons on the main form, the subforms have a command button with an embedded macro that searches for a record based on what has been keyed to an unbound text box on the subform, this works fine when the sub forms are opened independently of the navigation form but when the search is done from within the main form, the error message is, "....cannot find the referenced from frmAQIFAList" subform, I tried referencing the main form name infront of the subform name but this also doesn't work, perhaps this would be better with code ? or is it because the subforms are unbound ?
There is a command button on my form that calls a filtered query. I'm filtering the query based on a combo box within the form using
[Forms]![frmAssignDwgs]![Combo15]
It works beautifully until I put the form as a subform in the Navigation Form I'm using. When I execute it from within the Navigation form, it errors out looking for [Forms]![frmAssignDwgs]![Combo15].
Is there another syntax I can use so this will still work from within the Navigation Form? Or another way to approach this functionality?
frmNavigation is the main navigation form frmAssignDwgToPkgs is the subform that holds Combo15

I am a VBA beginner and am using Allen Browne's method for filtering a field in a subform: URL....It works well except that I cannot seem to figure out how to order the results when the subform field is filtered. I want to order the results by CompanyName.Here is the code I am using for changing the record source from the main form to the subform:

I feel as if I have tried everything. I even changed the subform record source from a table to a query (qryCompanyTypes) so that I could add the CompanyName field and sort but to no avail. I have tried adding the CompanyName field to the SQL string but keep getting errors. I have tried simply using Order By in the SQL and still get errors.
