I have a start date on a form. The fields data type is short date I need to create a validation rule so that when a user enters a date it can only be a saturday date which is entered.

I have a form and I need a combobox on the form to produce a list of Dates for every Saturday starting from the current day displayed in a short format for the user to select. Does anyone have an idea how I could manage that?
I was going to make a table and write in each one and use that for the rowsource, but someone said that there might be a way to do that dynamically.
I am having trouble checking if the last array value is equal to 'D'.
This is what i have so far but it keeps saying that 'subscript is out of range'... 'g' by the way is equal to 1. It just really means that there's only one value in ArrAC.

So I have a form for addresses that checks against a table of US zip codes, and throws up a warning if the City/State/Zip entered isn't found on the table. This works great. But I was wondering if there was a way to list the available combinations based on the zip code entered. I want the program to tell the user that the city is wrong, but here is a list of what it could be.Is it possible for a msgbox to list all records where a field = value?
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen a form in my database is loaded I want access to check if a textbox on the form is showing today's date and if not send me an email. I'm quite new to VBA so not 100% sure what to do but I've had a few attempts and none seem to work. I have managed what is probably the hard part and can get it to email me but can't seem to get the 'If the textbox is not today's date then' bit right.
The textbox is linked to a table and the data type is 'Date/Time', it does show the time and the date so don't know if this makes a difference? The text box is [DateUpdated] and the form is [Site].
I am trying to run a query where one field has a Not Equal parameter AND another field has Not Equal parameter (for example, Product Code Not Equal "A" AND Client State Not Equal "NY)
The result of the above query are all records that have Product Code = "A" are missing from the result. I want some of the "A" Product Codes; I just want to exclude the ones where the Client state is NY.
The list of values for each field is too big to state it in a positive way (I would have to list all the other 28 product codes and all the other 49 states).
What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
I have a DB with TblInspector and TblViolation Data. Here is what I am having trouble with. On my form I have a combo box named Inspector and a text box named ARNumber. What I would like to have happen is anytime that I select John Doe from combo box Inspector it pulls his ARNumber from TblInspector and saves his ARNumber in TblViolation Data.
I have fields Inspector and ARNumber in my TblViolation Data. I am pretty sure it is an After Update Event. I just don't know what code to put where. This is what I currently have on my combo box. It pulls the number and displays it in the text box on the form but does not save it to the table.

Ihave implemented custom events to sync between open forms. I noticed that if the code is engaging in middle of the way referncing a form with form constant (Form_formName) then the listeners stops listening so the event isn't firing, without getting the reason of this i just avoid using it Now, i have a problem that i want to open multiple instances of the same form and i didn't find another way than set frm = new form_formName as this is the only way i seem to be able to reference a closed form, so my question as followes
1. whether the "breaking" issue can be solved without avoiding "Form_FormName"
2. or a way to open
eference a form without using "form_FormName"
I have 3 event procedure with 3 buttons to make them run.I would like to create another button that can run all procedures togehter. if I copy one of the procedures how do I tell it to run the other 2.

I have a form with (among others) a Y/N field and a multivalued field. The Y/N field indicates whether or not the resident is year-round or not (seasonal/snowbird). The multivalued field contains the months the resident it here. The user wants me to auto-select all months in the multivalued vield when the year-round field is set to yes in order to minimize data entry.
I have been trying to use an AfterUpdate Event using the following syntaxes as a test but Access doesn't like the format at all:
[Master Table].[Months Available].[Value] = "June" (this gives 2465 error)
Me ! [Months Available].[Value] = "June" (this gives a 424 error)
I'm not at all fluent with VBA but have been successful in populating form fields using data fields in another table so thought this would be similar.
Any way other than not to use multivalued fields? Because that isn't an option.
I have a form with a subform. In the form's On Current event I have the subform's visible property set to false. There is a button that when clicked sets the subform's visible property to true. I want the subform to go to the first control in a new record which is a combo box. the subform is a multiple items form. I have tried the GoToControl in the subforms OnCurrent event, but it is not working. I get an error saying the database cant find a third form.

1) For some reason, txtMessage is not displayed on the form when NotInList is processed. I see it get populated properly in debug mode, but it never gets on the form. But txtMessage gets displayed normally in Add and Delete events.
It seems to do with the way NotInList works because txtMessage is displayed if I use acDataErrContinue. But that's not what I want; it leaves the combobox list open and can't save record if I close the form.
2) DLookup is used to extract the old Spec value to display in the message. I can see the old Spec in debug mode in cboSpec.column, but Listindex is -1 and unusable.
I don't know how to point to the proper record in the list. The only other way I can think of is to loop through the list comparing the Key, and then extract the Spec.
I don't know if it's more efficient to use lookup or loop.

I suspect it may be a parameter mismatch, but the normal GotFocus event handler does not take any parameters.
I am trying to use a Combobox BeforeUpdate Event to achieve a required result.
I have two combo boxes inside a frame. The first is a year number 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014
The Second is the Week No ranging from 1-52, but 1-53 in some cases and this updates accordingly with the year number selected.
When the user has selected Week 53 and then changes the year to a year where only 52 weeks exist I want to Cancel their event.
I have already made a function to determine if 53 weeks exits however when I come to do the Cancel Event, the combobox for the year doesn't change back. It stays on the users new selection.

I have an order form with an order details sub form. Both are bound to their respective tables and function correctly, with the OrderID being inserted automatically into the order details table.
However I am using VBA to update and check stock and have it working when attached to a separate form called process orders. Which event would be the best place to place this code. I do not really want to have the process orders form. Would it be on the master form or the sub form. I thought of placing it in the after insert event on the subform, but there can be many order items per order and it will run before I have finished adding order items. I tried it in the after insert event on the master form, but I think that this will run the code too soon as at this stage the order details will not have been written to that table.
On a subform, I have a text box control with an AfterUpdate event handler. The subform itself has an AfterInsert event handler.
If a user enters data into that tb control for a new record and then moves on (tab or click elsewhere), the AfterUpdate fires and does what it should, including setting Me.Dirty=False immediately before it completes. Then the form's AfterInsert event fires and does what it should, but finishes by returning program control to the ErrorHandler label within the control's AfterUpdate routine, reporting either an error 2101 (The setting you entered isn't valid for this property) or 3270 (Property not found). The form's AfterInsert handler does have its own ErrorHandler label, but it is not being executed.

but when a new value is entered this errors on line 70 with "runtime errror 2118 - you must save the current field before you run the requery action".I've tried various ways around this but can't get it to work.
I am starting to explore VBA and Modules. I recently found a relativly simple way to add an Audit Log to a database without adding two tables for each table as outlined by Allen Browne.
I used a set of code from fontstuff.com and it works great, except when using a sub form. I belive that it is most likely because the use of the Tag property looks at the subform as a control but it holds no value. I am thinking the VBA needs to be altered or the BeforeUpdate command need to specify what form to look in.
