I have a database witch includes a continuous form (named frmExport). It could be very useful for me if i can find a way so to export data from access 2007 and then to import them into a word file.
Please note: The access data will be inserted into word table.
I have a few problems and I want them to be able to be done from switchboard:
1. Is there a way for me to export a particular report (after selecting it) to a closed excel template, that is formatted? It would open the excel template (that has a logo and column headings), export data to below the column headings, then save the file with a unique name?
2. Also, a way to import data from an excel file, after allowing the user to select file? Only data below the column headings mentioned above. Same data will be appended to existing table.
I've been in a new position for a new company for less than three weeks, and I need some help.
The Access database that we use has been in operation since 2002, and it has never been Compacted/Repaired (I asked my coworkers and supposed IT people, and they said "what's that?").
After adding *one* new field, I've reached the horrific "error 3190" (max 255 fields).
I've tried all of the following, allowing at least 12 hours for them to run, but I cannot: export the data to Excel import the data into a new database copy/paste the records (because there are 12100+ and the max is 9500, I think; and because of the way the dd/mm/yy converted itself to dd/mm/yyyy) or rename the table with the data.
Hello, Does anyone knows how can I export the export/import specifications (which file/directory) and how can I import/export the specifications between different versions of Access. Thanks!
I am trying to write a more complex macro that will start another macro at a preset time, however I am getting stopped at the first hurdle - getting a macro to run another macro.
Here is the code i am using at the moment, all I want to do currently is click the first button, then get the second macro to execute. But no luck, getting error 2157 "cannot find the procedure"
I have a macro that imports a table from a network drive. I have hard coded in the path. However, each year file location changes. Is there a way in a Macro to adjust the code based on some other parameter?
Under the "TransferDatabase" action, for the "Database Name", I hard coded:
y:sidewalks2006swk_master.mdb
However, I want the 2006 to automatically come from some other location. Here’s what I tried to no avail (where I wanted the dlookup to return 2006):
I have back-end on LINUX, is there any possibilities to automatic export data to *xml? e.g. every 5 min. Maybe some code in vba which can be connected to system timer?
A Inputbox will shows up and then ask for a Special date.
I have a table which has for one ID always a Special date.
Many ID can have the same Special date. So i want to Export all with the same Special date.
I've created the following code. When i enter the date, it doesn't Export anything.
Code: Dim xlApp As Object 'Excel.Application Dim xlBook As Object 'Excel.Workbook Dim xlSheet As Object 'Excel.Worksheet Dim rst As DAO.Recordset, Rechnungsdatum_Finanzamt As Long, tmpStr As String
I have a button in a Form which on being clicked runs a Macro containing the action of opening a parameter query. When this Macro is run, the optition to enter data into the parameter query is shown and providing a user enters valid data, there is no problem.
However, if the user cancels the action at this point (by clicking the Cancel button etc.), he is shown an "Action Failed" box with the optition to "Halt".
Whilst this does work, I imagine there is a more elelgant solution for catching & dealing with a "cancelled by user" response.
I have a Listbox named List5 and a search textbox named txtProperty and a table name sms , after i search in textbox the results in listbox . i would link to inport the results in listbox to excel but the code i have export the whole table to excel .
here is my code
''''''''*''''''''*''''''''*''''''''*''''''''*''''' '''*''''''''*''''''''*' ''''''''*''''''''*'''''''' BUTTON 3 ''''''''*''''''''*''''''''*''''''' ''' EXPORT THE LIST TO EXCEL AS List5.XLS ''''''''*''''''''*'' ''''''''*''''''''*''''''''*''''''''*''''''''*''''' '''*''''''''*''''''''*' ''''''''*''''''''*''''''''*''''''''*''''''''*''''' '''*''''''''*''''''''*'
Dim outputFileName As String Dim oXL As Object Dim oExcel As Object Dim sFullPath As String Dim sPath As String outputFileName = CurrentProject.Path & "List5.xls"
I have devolved two reports which receive their data from the same query. I could not fit everything in one report as I am limited by Access’ 22 inch limitation. I would like to enable a user to run the reports off a Macro. The report/query requires the user to enter a “Parameter Value” such as date and facility number. When running the Macro it requires the user to input the same “Parameter Values” twice, once for each report. What I would like the Macro to do is only request the Parameter Values once. Is there a simple way to achieve this? Thanks for any assistance.
I am using the follow code to import data from a Word form into my MS Access 2010 DB:
Code: Set dbs = CurrentDb Set rst = dbs.OpenRecordset("tmpSIRs", dbOpenDynaset) With rst .AddNew
[code]...
On the Word Form, these two fields are drop-downs with three options: blank, No, and Yes. If the users leaves them blank, then Access ignores them--which is what I want. However, if the user says yes or no, Access puts a "-1" in the database. Both the Word form and Access field are text.
I have a fill-in pdf form, with fields that match database table fields. My database is in SQL, but I use Access for the forms and reports.
The users will go on-site (and be offline), fill out the pdf forms a bunch of times and come back with a folder of them.
I am looking for a way to have a form where a user can choose a folder (maybe on an access form) and say "import PDFs" and then have all the data in the PDF forms import to the table. A lot of other stuff has to happen in that process (checking the project number on the form, assigning an ID tag for that item, etc).
Looking for (semi) generic piece of code that knows how to handle (semi) random XML files and structures, preferably creating tables and columns on the fly...
Or some code that will read an XML tree and genericaly will add the data to the tables it can find?
I get XML's from a site and want to import the data to Access. If I use the native import then I get multiple tables and the data is a little jumbled. For instance: I get 1 table with track names and a different table for track numbers with no way to relate the to accurately. I would like to be able to parse out the XML and have it update my table as it goes so I have less "junk" in my DB. I just can't figure out how to call out the XML tag and tell it to copy that info to the correct field.
I am trying to complete a macro that starts with importing of a text file. However, when I go to complete the steps in the macro, I do not see the specs for the import file that i created. There is a dropdown with a few specs for me to choose from in the box titled "Specification Name" when I am completing the action titled ImportExport Text. However, none of those specs are the right ones.
When I go to "Saved Imports" I can plainly see the import that I am interested in. So is a Saved Import different than a spec? If so, what steps do I need to do to create the spec?
