I have a list of staff that have a conflict of interest with a particular entity. As a result, these staff are not allowed to interview these entities.

I have a query that matches all staff with their respective entities that they have a conflict of interest with (CoI) and that is functioning correctly.

When the form loads to add an interview, there is a listbox that pulls all the people who are not allowed to do an interview with that particular entity. That is also working correctly.

I have a subform, that is a continuous form, which will allow the user to add staff, one at a time, via a drop down box. These people are stored in their own table with a FK Id to the interview table. This also works correctly.

How to filter the combobox on the subform to exclude the people in the listbox.

Here is what I have tried, loosely based on what I have found on Google and researching here. I am 100% sure it is not working correctly, but what I am missing.

The query the listbox is based on has 3 colums, the ID, the Name, and the business contract number.

The issue is that the box is not filtering all the names out of the list it is built on. It is only filtering out the last name.

Obviously I need to save the results for comparison, but I am at a loss on how to do that.

I have some code that successfully gathers some items and adds these items to a listbox, one item at a time using .AddItem.And it works ok.The problem is, when there are a bunch of items to add, everytime the .AddItem runs, the form redraws.there are a bunch and this leads to a lot of flicking while the form redraws however many times .AddItem adds an item.

I've had the idea of building an array and then assigning the array to the listbox.I can build the arrray no problem but i have not been able to assign the array to the listbox all at once.how to do is add items to the listbox from the array one specific item ListArray(i) at a time.

Obviously this would work, but gains me nothing in terms of the visual effect in the form becuase it is still adding to the listbox one item at a time.Is there some way to assign an array to a list box all at once, without doing it one item at a time?

I have a combo box that populates many listboxes based on a selection (listbox values are coming from another table [Master]) - simple enough. I want the listboxes to populate with DISTINCT entries - also seems simple enough (right?).

As you'll see below, if the user selects "All" from the combo box (cboSite), I want the listboxes to populate with distinct values from all sites; otherwise, any other selection is a unique site and the listboxes will populate with distinct values based on that unique site.

This works BEAUTIFULLY if I select a unique site, but when I select "All", there is always one (and only one) duplicate value in EACH listbox. That is to say: all values but one in the listbox are distinct.

FOR EXAMPLE:Select unique site (not "All") from "cboSite"

The listbox "lstMajEquip" (which only has values "Yes" and "No") populates to show "Yes" and "No"

Select "All" from "cboSite"

The listbox "lstMajEquip" (which only has values "Yes" and "No") populates to show "Yes","No", and "No" (what?!)

As mentioned, this happens for all 8 of the listboxes, not just "lstMajEquip"...

My company is finally using my accounts package (alongside our original package until we can be certain there are no bugs).

Anyway just adding nice to have features at the moment.

I've got a form that has 5 combo boxes where the user can select 5 customers. Then a button so they can graph the amount of money generated by each customer and compare them.

I've just made a query to return the top 5 highest grossing customers.

What I what to do now it feed the query results into the combobox values when I press a new button on my form.

How do I go about this?

In the past a Teacher would manually create a Form (Student Form) containing Student information, (Name, Gender, Birthdate, Homegroup) as well as additional issues on the student. This would all be saved into a table.

I would like to change this manual process of typing in individually to each text box, therefore, I have been able to run a report from a external program that obtains (Name, Gender, Birthdate, Homegroup). This saves as CSV and I am able to import into a separate table within the database.
This works no problem.

What I have set-up is a form that contains a listbox this contains the Student name and Homegroup from the imported table contents. Again this works fine.

What i would like to do is when a student is selected from the listbox and dbl clicked on, how can i make information (Name, Gender, Birthdate, Homegroup) populate the textboxes in the Student form that the teacher previously used? could this be an update query where the imported table information will then go into the Student form? If so, how can I tell the dbl click of highlighted name is the data i want to populate?

I have multiple tables (Desktops and Telephones)

A search form, to search into those tables (It searches by "User")

The search form contains a listbox that shows results (listPC)

And the following code:

It works, but I have one problem. It only shows telephones or desktop, not both. It deppends on which line inside UpdateList is first.

That example searches into 2 tables:

-Telephones
-Desktops

And searches by "user".

I want to list all telephones and desktops that a user has assigned.

What should I change to show both results?

I need some VBA coding to do the following tasks

Table 1: two columns - Child Tag and Parent Tag. Parent Tags can also be in Child Tag column. In other words, a parent can have multiple levels of children.

Table 2: one column - Backup Tag.

I'd like to have a form with a combo box, pick a Parent Tag, the search all its child tags and compare each Child Tag found with records in Table 2 to see if there is a match. Then populate all results in a tree view control.

A visual example :

Is it possible to have a macro button to pass query results to a listbox? I have a database where I have some fields with dates. What I need to do is to show a list of all cases that have a start date (and also the end date). So I will have 2 buttons, one that says "show started cases" and second one "show closed cases". If I press the first button, it will run a query and show only those cases that have a date filled in the started case field. I made a button that shows the results in a report, but I would like to have it show up in a listbox so I can double click it and go straight to the case.

Populate 2nd Listbox

I have a tblWorkoutLog which contains workout data (body focus, excercise, date, etc.).

I have a listbox (populated from a table) which allows a user to select a/several body focus (arms, legs, etc.). Once the selections are made, a query is created with the IN command to filter based on the selections.

I would like to add a second listbox that will populate with dates that are associated with the selections made in the first list box. For example, if "arms" and "legs" were selected, I want all the dates where "arms" or "legs" were worked on to populate the second listbox. After the user makes those selections, I would like create a final query with the output (i.e. all data associated with "arms" and "legs" on the selected dates).

The first listbox works great, but I don't know how to populate the second listbox and use that selected information.

I am learning code and SQL statements as I go so please be patient with me.

Populate Combobox Programatically

I have a form that I am populating a ComboBox via a Query. It works but sometimes it flakes out and does not populate the box.

What I want to do is run this through code.

I am a bit stuck. I think that I need to set the recordset, Create a SQL query, Run the query and push the results to the ComboBox. Think this should be on the Click event of the combobox.

Dont really know where to get started.

Does anyone have a rough example of:
1. Getting the recordset
2. A general SQL query (how to run it)
3. How to push the results to the ComboBox

Trying To Populate A Listbox From A Query

I want to pass a search parameter from a form to a query then use the query results to populate a multi-column list box. So far, I can pass the parameter to the query and generate results, however, I want the query results sent to a listbox rather than create a new window.

I set up the listbox to receive results from the query, but when the form opens the listbox is already populated with arbitrary query results. I want the listbox to be empty when the form is opened, I submit a parameter to a query, and the listbox fills with the results

Additionally, once the listbox is populated, I want to clear the listbox but am having the error: The RowSourceType property must be set to 'Value List' to use this method.

I have a table filled with company contacts and form with a combo box containing the contacts names.

When a contact is selected I want it to show their Telephone, Mobile and email address in text boxes below. But it only shows the telephone number and the other two fields stay blank.

what I'm doing wrong ?

Populate Label Based On Listbox

I have a list box that is populated based on a table. now I have three labes that are also added to the form. What I will like to do is....

ListBox (3 colums)
On Double Click (listbox)
Set Label1 to the First Column.text in the list box
Set Label2 to the Second Column.text in the list box
Set Label3 to the Third Column.text in the list box


What i'm looking for is a way to update my labes based on the selection I make in the list box.
kind of like a confirmation.

On Double click it will show on label and it will act as a confirmation.
This customer(record) has been selected!

If there is another way to kind of show this same functionality please tell. I'm kind of new at Access but a master in Excel so I'm not affraid of VBA.

I've got an access front-end database running on Access Runtime on a Terminal Server with a back-end on a data server both of which are hosted by a remote company and accessed via Terminal Services. All is well and the database is working fine but because this is a cloud system I need a way that I can easily delve into the tables on the back-end without copying it down locally from the cloud each time (I've set up an "administrator" option so that this would be available to limited users). I've got the front-end forms working as I'd like but I have quite a few tables and I'd like to avoid creating a separate form for every table. I've been able to populate a combobox on my form with the list of linked tables and I'd like that when I choose a particular table from this list that the whole table is then visible within a subform below in case I need to manually intervene with the data for any reason.

Is it possible to populate a single combobox with data from 3 different tables.

I have a table called observations (for observing deer), in that table is a field called Location, I have 3 other tables that list possible locations t_foodplots, t_stands and t_section.

I would like to have a combobox called location on my observations form that will allow me to select the proper location from one of those 3 tables, the choices would be something like this...

Section 1
Section 2
Section 3
Stand 1
Stand 2
Stand 3
Foodplot 1
Foodplot 2
Foodplot 3 etc....

The chosen value would be stored in the t_observations "location" field.

In my tables I have a field called first serial. This is the first element of a serial number range associated with each record. Very rarely I have to ask the user to specify a certain serial number in that range. (The serial numbers can be generated easily from the first serial) This happens during the run of a macro, so I have to use a Fom opened with WindowMode:=acDialog. The problem is that I have to populate a listbox with the generated serial numbers on that form. But I can't interact with a dialog form, since it stopos the running of the macro. I have tried to open it hidden, and change the modal property to true once the listbox have been populated, but this dosen't stop the macro to wait for user input.Is it possibble to pass the first serial value to the form, and populate the listbox in one of the Form's opening events?

Combobox Results Incomplete

I have cascading comboboxes on my search form. The first selects a year, the second all hospitals with patients who had visits in that year, and the third is supposed to be populated with all patients who had visits at that hospital in that year. When I click on the third combobox, the results are incomplete. Some of the patients fitting the criteria are listed but not all of them. On each run there may be a different number of patients. If I just run the query by itself, all of the patients are listed. The combobox rowsource is:

I have a form based on a query.On the form I have 4 comboboxes.The combo boxes filter eachother without a problem (based on custom select query).Now I want after the fourth combobox value is selected, I want to populate a text field with a value from a different column from the master query (after the 4 selections only 1 value should be possible)I try to say this easy.Master query contains 5 columns:

- group
- type
- job
- insurance
- charge

combo1 selects group (and filters records)
combo2 selects type (from remaining records and filters again)
combo3 selects job (from remaining records and filters again)
combo4 selects insurance (from remaining records and filters again)

[code]....

This works great and the dropbox only shows 1 OF EACH DIFFERENT record...If I add a text box and want to see the "charge" value, that I thought I could use the ME.text-code. But in order to do this, I have to add the charge column into the query of Combo4.the dropbox for insurance gives me multiple values that are the same. Is there any way to make this work?

In my quality control database QC techs will be entering in test results. Each quality control entry they put in will have a product and lot number it is related too.

My question is about making data entry easier for the QC techs. When two jobs are being run at once, the techs may have to alternate between which jobs they enter, meaning a different product and lot number. It would be frustrating for the QC techs to enter in a product code and lot number for every entry they make.

Can the lot number field be automatically populated when the tech selects a product? Basically, if the tech selects product A, can the last lot number value for product A automatically populate the field in the new entry?

Edit: Currently I have the "solution" of making two instances of the entry form with each lot number entered on the different one. This allows the QC Techs to use the CTRL+ ' to populate the last record, allowing them to quickly enter the product code, lot number, and date of the job they are working on.
