I'm trying to make a field specific image on a tabular subform, so a different image appears on every row depending on the field information.
Currently my code displays the same image on every row depending on which subform row is selected:

Hi
I am trying to create a form that has a tabular main form and a tabular subform. All I can do is to create a main form that just shows a singular record (columnar). I want to be able to see say 10 records in the main form and 10 records in the subform. How do I do this?

Is it possible to display, in either a form, multiple images that are dynamically linked? Can they all be displayed at once 1 to many images, either by using navigation bars or scrolling through a subform? The links would be stored in another table within the same database and not as hyperlinks.
Conceptually it would be like scrolling through multiple records on a subform with images rather than alphanumeric data in fields.
Would like to know if this is possible and if so in what versions of ACCESS.
Is there add-on software that would make this possible.

I have a tabular form which i use to input new payments for tenants.
What i'd like to be able to do, is have another form, with a combo box that i can chose my tenant from, then for a tabular form to show only the payments made for that tenant, sorted in date order.

I am new to access i have a problem which is i have made a form which contains a subform and a read only subreport, what i want is the ability to select a record in read only subreport as in the picture attached and make a button that when i press on it, it should copy the values of the itemsID field, Packing field, ContainerNo field and origin field from the selected record and then paste them in the subform below.
Also i want to add more then one item, so the when i press on another record it should paste the values below the first record.

Hello,
I am trying to get data from a specific record in a sub form. and save a result in the same record.
specifically:
I am using the following fields
"teacher type","Class", "Step", "Hours", "Pay"
I have two teacher types, Contract and hourly. a teacher can be either of these or both. I am taking the class and step info from the subform, looking up the data in a table to determine their pay and saving it to the "pay" field.
this works fine as long as I only have one record. if I add the second record the calculation changes bot of the records "Pay" field value to the same thing. what I want to do is have it only calculate the pay for the contract teachers and have it saved to the proper record and the same for the hourly teachers.
I have seperate routines for the calculation of each type.
Any help will be appreciated!!

I have a main form and a nested subform. The main form is based on customer details and displays customer name and the customer primary key (custID). When this form is opened i pass two parameters to it, BPID and SIID. A BP is a business picture and a SI is a sales interaction. These are in a one to many relationship.
The subform displays a sales interactions (si) of a business picture (bP).The subform is set up with master child links of custid;bpid. This restricts the subform to only showing records for the a specific customer and specific BP (the user can cycle through all the linked SI's using the record selectors.
When the main form is opened I want the subform to display the sales interaction the user has selected when opening the main form based on the passed SIID but cannot get this to work. At the moment the subform just displays the first record.

I'm trying to present a little thumbnail image beside every record in a "continuous" subform after a search has been made.
How do you think I should achieve this, please?

I have tried the following:
1. Tried to make a Image and on Form Current() update the image from a field called FileID.. The problem with this design was that EVERY record in the continuous subform changed to the current records image.
2. OLE object as a field for every record and a thumbnail inserted in that field. I think I can get this working. But I'm afraid that the database will explode in size. The thumbnails are about 3-4-5 kb.

Hello, fantastic site you have here!
I have a form based on a table called TermWithPaysStoredData that shows a single row for everyone in the table with a small amount of info from the table and has controls for a user to enter dates which writes to that same table.
I have a subform that reads that same table but has much more information about each row. I would like to add a button to each row of the main form that says "More Info". When clicked, it should open the subform to the same employee.
The field I want to match is called ID. My main form is called fTermWithPays and my subform is called fTermWithPaysMoreInformation.
I tried using the OpenForm method but that either opens the form to the first record or filters and shows only one blank record.
I'd like to use a macro for this if possible because I don't know VB.
Any ideas? Let me know if more explanation is needed.

I have a form that displays details for a specific asset and a continuous subform that lists all the purchases for that asset. I have the following code in the On Click event for one of the fields in the subform:

DoCmd.OpenForm "frmOrders", acNormal, , "OrderID=" & Order, acFormEdit, , "Edit"
The problem is, when I click on any item in the subform, the code returns the value of the first item in the form rather than the one clicked on. If I open the subform on its own (outside the main form) then the code works fine. I can't figure out why it won't work in a subform.

I'm new here, mostly learning to do stuff by trial and error. I have a sneaking suspicion that I could easily search out the answer to my question if I had the right vocabulary, but I don't think I do...
Anyway, my question, hopefully you can help me with.
I've got a tabular form that has a couple of comboboxes, and then a text label:
ComboA....ComboB....Label
What I'd like to do is change the label for each row based on the Combobox data...
ComboA....ComboB....Label
Red..........Apple.......0
Red..........Apple.......0
Red..........Apple.......0
The user changes some setting, so this happens...
ComboA....ComboB....Label
Red..........Apple.......0
Blue..........Pear........3
Red..........Apple.......0
That's what I want. How I'm currently doing this is having a Sub called whenever the Combo boxes are changed, to change Me.Label.Value to 3, in this example. Of course, what instead happens is I get...
ComboA....ComboB....Label
Red..........Apple.......3
Blue..........Pear........3
Red..........Apple.......3
Which is not what I want at all. Is there a way to change the value of the label in(for instance) the second row, without changing /all/ the labels in the continous form? I'd be really handy to know how to do that, but I just can't puzzle out a way.
If that's not possible... Any other way to get my labels to display the information? Part of the problem is that my function relies on information stored in variables in my form, and I'm not sure I can access those just from the source propery of the label... What I need, essentially, is to put in Label's value the result of MyFunc(ComboA.Value,ComboB.Value,formvariable1,for mvariable2).
Any help would be muchly appreciated!

I'm using 4 combo-boxes in order to filter a tabular form in access.
One combo box is for a company name the second is for a report type and the third and forth is for choosing years. I used VBA in order to apply the filter:

Each line works by itself but I cant figure out how to combine them together, or how to use "AND" between each filter so the filtering will refer all of them when I run the code.

I have a form that is opened as hidden when my startup form loads. Data gets entered into it from other forms so whenever I switch records the hidden form needs to be opened to the matching record.
To accomplish this, I have been using the DoCmd.OpenForm in the OnCurrent event with the WHERE clause matching the PK/FK. I have had no luck with the SearchFor method.
It seems silly to have to keep reopening a form to go to a specific record when the form is always open already. Plus, I am wondering if it is affecting the forms' load times.
Is there a better way to do this (there must be)?

Is it possible to use VBA or macros to open a table to a specific record?
I know how to open a table in database view using a command button. I'd like to have it open to or automatically scroll to and select a specific record, based on the content of the form. This way I don't have to spend time scrolling through the whole table to try and find the desired record.

I was wondering if there is a code for Next and Previous record in a form but for a specific value.
Example: I have a customer that has a specific ID and that customer has a list of orders that all contain that ID. When I open a form for orders I would like to be able by using Next and Previous record buttons to be able that was to move only through records of that customer not the whole list of orders for every customer.

I have a table that has two forms linked to it - one is the Main Form which is used to input the data for the bulk of entries, however on some entries there will be some additional data required which the other form (lets call it Time Form) takes care of.
What I would like to do is have a button on the Main Form that opens the Time Form, and then go to the specific record that is open on the Main Form;I have an ID field (Autonumber + Primary Key) which displays in a text box on the main form, and it would provide the number of the record for the second form to open.

I am having bit of confusion in trying to come up with a code that will assist in completing my database display (for a warehouse rental database).
My aim is to have a form display a layout of the site and overlay an image over a store if its occupied else leave the image off if otherwise.
I have everything in my table plus a checkbox field that states if vacancy is "yes' or "no"; say I have 60 stores to rent and they have specific names (unit = A09) and I already 'drew' the layout on a form (all 60 of them) with renaming the boxes for each unit (Name = A09).
How can I program a code that upon opening the form it will like
If 'Box Name on form' = 'unit name on table' AND 'Vacancy = No' then 'redbox.visible = yes'

I am using a datasheet view with dbl click code to open a form to a selected record. I was able to use pbaldy's code and it worked perfectly.
DoCmd.OpenForm "Asset Status", , , "[Project Number] = '" & Me.Project_Number & " ' "
Then I realized I really want to be able to go to other records after I have gone to this form and tried this:

How to do an UPDATE using VBA on a form to update a specific record on the table using an unbound field on the form to filter the update.
Every time the code runs, it tells me: Run-time error '3144': Syntax error in UPDATE statement and takes me to the "CurrentDb.Execute strSQL, dbFailOnError" line at the end of my sample below.

When we browse through records in a subform we store the records in the database.When we want to delete a records for example the third record from the five records always the first records will be deleted. How can we delete the records where the cursor is at? When we are at the third record and press the delete button the third record from the list in the subform should be deleted.
