Modules & VBA :: Remove Multiple Items From ListBox

Aug 6, 2013

I'm trying to setup a listbox so that multiple items may be selected and removed at once. The Listbox Multi Select property is currently set to "Extended" and I have the following code on the onclick event of a command button:

Code:

Private Sub Command12_Click()
Dim i As Integer
For i = List10.ListCount - 1 To 0 Step -1

[Code]....

I have tested selecting 4 or so records on the list box and then pushing the remove button but it seems that the only record that is removed is the selected record that is furthest down on the listbox. The other selected records become unselected and must be reselected in order to continue removing records.

Modules & VBA :: Right Click Menu Command Bar Index Number?

Aug 13, 2014

I have a form that i used the following code on to stop people accessing anything naughty:

Code:
Dim i As Integer
For i = 1 To CommandBars.Count
CommandBars(i).Enabled = False
Next i

This works great and gets rid of all the menu bars.

The problem is that it also stops the user getting the right click menu up in a datasheet view.

I assume i just need to enable the correct menu bar index number but i don't know what it is so my code would be:

Code:
CommandBars(X).Enabled = True

So do I need to bring back more than one command bar to get it working?

Odd One - Menu Items Have Disappeared...

Jun 7, 2005

Up until recently, when I selected multiple objects in design view (on a form) and right-clicked the mouse, I had several options in the 'Size' sub-menu (including 'Size to Widest / Tallest / Narrowest / Shortest').

Then I tried to be clever(!) and create a new custom toolbar which had just these options on it, as I use them frequently. This was all very well until now, when I can't find the custom toolbar I created, and the options have disappeared from the Size submenu aswell!

Has anyone got any ideas on how I can get them back??

(I have tried going into Customize to drag them back, but they're not there either! :( )

Remove Help Combo Box From Menu Bar

Mar 25, 2008

I am using Access 2003 - by default there is a 'Type a question for help' drop down box on the menu bar - this is a tad annoying and looks similar to the 'New Mail' icon that displays from my mail client in approximately the same part of the screen....

Any ideas on how to remove the 'Type a question for help' drop down from the Access Tool/Menu bar?

Thank you.

OOPS. I've Erased All My Menu Items Upon Start-up

Jun 16, 2006

Hello all, (Access 2000)

I had a problem with one of our users getting a little too involved in our data base so I went to Tools and to Start-up. At the bottom-left of the window I de-selected:

Allow Full Menus
Allow Default Shortcut menus

I did this so the bare minimum shows up and the users can only use the intended functions. I now see my mistake as I cannot do anything with the db. The only menu options it gives me are

File
Window
Help

I tried to create a macro to restore my menu items but according to the help menu that only works for forms and reports. I've gone through every option in the help section. Problem is they all say to start with the 'View' menu item which I now no longer have.

Any thoughts?

Dimming (not Disabling) Items In Custom Menu

Jun 2, 2006

I'd like to create a custom toolbar that has links to subforms and dims the links (subforms) that have no data in them.

Catalog
Postcard
Letter
Bulletin

This would mean that there is data in the "Postcard", but not on the other subforms. Even though the others are dimmed, I want them to be active so that they can have data entered if needed.

Suggestions?

Forms :: Customize Right Click Menu

May 1, 2015

I have the following script which customizes the right click menu.

The problem that I am having is that I call the script to add the right click from the form open event and then multiple users can not access the same database.

I use one for forms and then another for reports.

If I manually close the open forms then reopen them then multiple users can use the same database.

If I close and reopen forms with vba the right click still remains making the database not accessible to multiple users.

It is definitely this as when I comment it out from the open event of the forms then everything is OK.

I call the following from the open event of the form as follows

Code:
Public Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer)
FormsShortcutMenu
End Sub

The following is stored in a module

Code:
Public Sub FormsShortcutMenu()
Dim cmbRightClick As Office.CommandBar
Dim cmbControl As Office.CommandBarControl
On Error Resume Next
CommandBars("cmdRightClick").Delete

[Code] .....

Forms :: Right Click Menu In Popup Form On Access 2010?

Dec 11, 2013

I'm trying to do right click menu on listbox.

currently i'm trying to implement a right click menu which will show a simple messege box.

My problem is that the list box is on a pop up form which opened up maximized. Now when i'm right clicking on the list box i see the right click menu but when i'm clicking on one of the menu options, nothing happenning (it seems that it don't go to the function as it should). i've also putted breakpoints on the function but it never tips.

It's important to mention that if i'm setting the form popup option to no the right click menu works perfectly (when i'm clicking on one of the options i see its matching messege box).

I'm running the following vba code:

This is the mouse up event handler for my list box:

Private Sub Song_List_MouseUp(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single)
' Call the SetUpContextMenu function to ensure it is setup with most current context
' Note: This really only needs to be setup once for this example since nothing is

[Code] .....

setting up the "SetUpContextMenu" sub:

Public Sub SetUpContextMenu()
' Note: This requires a reference to Microsoft Office Object Library
Dim combo As CommandBarControl
' Since it may have been defined in the past, it should be deleted,
' or if it has not been defined in the past, the error should be ignored

[code].....

Forms :: Right Click Listbox To Copy Selected Items To Temp Table

Mar 7, 2013

I'm trying to create a right-click event on a listbox that will copy selected listbox item(s) to a temp table. So far, I've got this code to acknowledge the right click:

Code:
Private Sub List0_MouseDown(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single,
Y As Single)
If Button = acRightButton Then
MsgBox "You pressed the right button."
End If
End Sub

Problem is the selected item on the list box doesn't move until after the mouse down event so whatever code I would run would involve the wrong record(s).

I'm using Access 2000 and 2003. How to get the the correct record selected on mouse down, or point me to a working example of right-click functionality on a listbox.

Editing The "Application-Specific" Menu Items...

Feb 14, 2007

Hello,I have been examining an Access application and it has menus and several menu items under the headings of those menus. (I could call them as well "Application-Specific menus" as they contain shortcuts to the forms inside the application, such as "Offers>>Prepare a sales offer" , "Definitions>>Customers & Locations" , or "Definitions>>Series & Models" and so on...)In View>>Toolbars>>Customize, selecting the checkbox of that menu,I can make those Application-Specific menus appear also in design mode.So far so good, but....if I'm able to make them appear in design mode, I should also be able to "edit" them, right? But I simply can't edit them. For example, I can't seem to pull the menu item "Definitions>>Customers & Locations" and put it under the "Offers" menu. (so that a new item called "Offers>>Customers & Locations" is formed)Well as an Admin, I 'm supposed to do it, as one the users suggested that it be more effective if the menu item "Customers & Locations" stood under the "Offers" menu. So, how can I edit my "Application-specific" menu items? Thanks.

Modules & VBA :: Mdb Menu Becomes Disabled

Jan 22, 2015

I have an mdb file that is being used in Access 2013. The menu appears in the Add Ins as it is supposed to and it works for the most part. For some reason, it remains visible but is not clickable/operable after I do the following code. This all works flawlessly in earlier version of Access so it must something peculiar to 2013 (no surprise there....). hat would cause the ribbon to stop working, what to do when it does, and best of all, how to prevent it from occurring in the first place?

This code is for an option box that either prints a report or creates a pdf and then sends the report as and attachment to a CDO generated email. Other than it (seemingly) turns off the menu..THe site won't allow me to post links so the code is an attached txt file

Modules & VBA :: Creating A Custom Shortcut Menu

I'd like a lot of the standard options i.e. sort a-z, filter toggle etc. I'd also like to add the menu option that is displayed in the default menu called "Text Filters". I've been unable to find the id code for that option, and since it, when chosen opens another menu, I'm not real sure how to code it. Here is what I have so far:

Sub CreateWIPShortcutMenu()

Dim cmbControl As Office.CommandBarControl
' Create the shortcut menu.
Set cmbRightClick = CommandBars.Add("cmdWIP", msoBarPopup, False, True)

Modules & VBA :: Search Function With Drop Down Menu

Jan 5, 2015

I have a form with First name, Last name, Employee number, Information. The information box is a drop down menu with four options (contact, emergency, company, personal) I would like to be able to enter in search criteria for an employee using one of last name first name or employee number then choose an option from drop down box click a button to search and have it pull up just the info I needed.

I think I have two options but i am not sure which would be more efficient.

1. creating a query and using the criteria from design mode to have it filter the information. The only problem with this one is I do not know how to set it up with the drop down box from the form. Or would I need multiple querys for each option or just one with all of it?

2. writing code for the search button on the form that will bring up the appropriate query (I think I would then have to create a query for each drop down option)...
