Modules & VBA :: Replace Function In Access 2007 For HTML Email In Outlook 2010

Aug 4, 2014

My company recently upgraded our MS Office from 2007 to 2010 (except for Access).

Previously, when I had Access 2007 and Outlook 2007, I had a process that generated 50+ dynamic emails from an Outlook template file (.oft).

The code would loop through a listbox and replace the template's default text to a string of text specific to the selection in the listbox by utilizing the Replace() function on the MailItem .HTMLBody.

Since the upgrade to Outlook 2010, the code is able to run, however, the Replace() function is no longer working; Instead, each email that is generated maintains the template's default text.

The only thing that is not working is the Replace() function, all other aspects of the code work fine.

I've provided a simplified version of the code below:

Dim myOlApp As Outlook.Application
Dim objMailMessage As MailItem
Dim stBody As String
Set myOlApp = Outlook.Application
Set objMailMessage = myOlApp.CreateItemFromTemplate("C:UsersDesktop emplate.oft")

[Code] .....

I've recreated the template file in Outlook 2010, thinking that the template created with Outlook 2007 would be the culprit, but to no avail.

What could have changed from Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2010 that would render my previously valid code ineffective?

Are there certain references I need to enable in both Access and Outlook to allow VBA in Access modify the content in an Outlook email?

Modules & VBA :: Showing In Access If Email In Outlook Has Attachment

I found a code that will go trough an emailbox and export all emails to a table in access. This part is working OK (except the received date). I also wante to show in the table if the email contains an attachment, but that part is not working at all. The project actually is meant to store the emails on a shared drive and attachments and have the emails in Access so I can see them all and recall the one needed.

Code:

Modules & VBA :: Access Email With Embedded Image Using Outlook

Sep 29, 2013

I have code that automatically send emails out from an Access Customer Contacts Database. I am using Access and Outlook 2007 but the code needs to work with later versions of Access and Outlook.

I have very poor knowledge of coding and usually manage to cobble something together from looking at other code on the net but don't understand most of it.

I have the following code which works perfectly except I want to be able to embed an image in the email body (not have the image as an attachment but actually show it in the body of the email).

Most of the code I have found around this topic is too complex for me to understand and utilise within the context of the code I have.

Ideally I want to take the image from an attachment field in a table returned by the "tblMailingList_Query".

Code:
Private Sub Command10_Click()
Dim MyDB As Database
Dim MyRS As Recordset
Dim objOutlook As Outlook.Application
Dim objOutlookMsg As Outlook.MailItem

[Code] .....

General :: Calendar Synchronization - Access 2010 To Outlook 2010

Mar 23, 2015

I wish to work in Access 2010 with a subset of my Outlook 2010 contacts (all desktop- no network barriers), so I am exploring the Desktop Contacts DB found in Microsoft's templates. It passes contact data back and forth using the standard macros, but I wish to add more fields from Outlook. It seems I need to find the code associated with the macro. I believe I can solve the problem using a Linked table, but am wondering if there is another solution?

Calendar synchronization is another issue. Linking gets me to the Archive Calendars, but not the Current one in Outlook which is what I want.

Me.Filter = strWhere

Is there a way to have Access 2003 take this filtered list and populate the To: field in Outlook or whatever the default mail client is? Each email needs to be deliminated by ";"

Modules & VBA :: Using Array To Specify Email Recipients (Access 2007 - Lotus Notes)

Aug 7, 2013

I've got a form which emails out a report when a new record is added to my database but I'm stuck when it comes to making it send it to more than one recipient.

I came across this on the web... which suggests I should be using an array but I don't know anything about arrays.

For multiple email addresses you just set MailDoc.sendto to an array of variants each of which will receive the message. So

Code:

Dim recip(25) as variant
recip(0) = "emailaddress1"
recip(1) = "emailaddress2" e.t.c

maildoc.sendto = recip

My problem is I'm not sure how to implement it? My 'recipients' are being pulled from a query... how do I get that into the array of variants?

Transfer HTML That Has XLS File Format In Access 2010 Using VBA

Oct 20, 2015

I have a downtime system that was created by our IT department that records the downtime of the line stops, it has export to excel button that will export the downtime to excel based off the parameters of date and time. I want to do the export then import to access for downtime analysis. The problem I am having is the programmers export it as HTML with .xls file format. and the worksheet has a date associated with it as well as the spreadsheet has a tab that contains a date and I can't figure away to import to a fixed table. So I tried the transfer spreadsheet not knowing it was in HTML, couldn't recognize the format, then I tried transfer HTML, can't find the file because of .xls file format. I know I could re-save it as a excel file but was trying to keep the steps to a min. Is there a way to import even though it has a date attached to the file and spreadsheet tab.

Access Uses HTML To Send Email, Please Help

Aug 29, 2004

I'm updating a database that automatically sends an email to the drafts folder of Outlook. The developer that created the database used VBA code to call html code written in a table. The html code contains the body of the letter. I've figured out most of it but I need to include a date (one month from the current date) in the body of the letter. Unfortunately I've been researching java script and html all weekend and still haven't managed to figure that one out. Can anyone out there help with this? Also is this normal to include html and javascript in Access, I have never seen it before. Are the benefits good? I have serious studying to do if this is the case.

Modules & VBA :: How To Send A Report Via Outlook 2010

Oct 30, 2014

I have a VBA module in my Access 2010 database that will send a report as a PDF via email to a predetermined email address. the only problem using the docmd.sendobject method is i keep getting a pop up that says "A program is trying to send an e-mail on your behalf. If this is unexpected, click Deny and verify your antivirus software is up-to-date."

I have a windows task set up at the same time each day to open this database which runs an autoexec that creates this report and using my VBA module sends the email. i want it to just send the email without any imput from me. I want automation.

Here is my code that i am using to create and send the email

"Private Sub Report_Activate()
filename = "Name of file" & Format(Me.Date_time_returned "MMDDYY") & ".pdf"
DoCmd.SetWarnings False
DoCmd.SendObject acSendReport, "Name of file", acFormatPDF, "the destination email address goes here",,, "Request completed and sent " & Format(Me.Date_time_returned, "MMDDYY"), "Subject of email goes here", False
DoCmd.SetWarnings True
End Sub"

Modules & VBA :: Change HTML Text On Email If Checkbox Selected

Feb 18, 2014

I have the following code which works perfectly BUT I want to be able to add another line of text if users enable a checkbox. I have tried everything I can think of but can't get it to work. When using an "IF check150" statement it just adds the extra text in regardless of selection or not.

Code:

Function Mail_Radio_Outlook6(activedoc As String)
Dim OutApp As Object
Dim OutMail As Object
Dim strbody As String
Dim acc_req As String
Set OutApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")

[Code] ....

This is fine most of the time but If a user ticks check150 I want to add another paragraph.

Do I use an IF statement, if so in what format? is it a separate function etc?

I am slowly getting more familiar with Access but still come unstuck on the simplest of things at times.

Modules & VBA :: Email In Outlook With Attachments

Jun 16, 2013

I am making a new database. And I want to confirm that I can do all the following in Access 2007 and how is best to do it.

1) A form where I can define:a unique Email Number starting at 1.
a directory eg "C:UsersPaulDesktop101 - Brick House"
an email address.
a Recipient Name
a Category for the email. Choosing either "Working" or "Complete". This would be part of the email subject.

2) a button which onclick lists all the files in the defined directory to a box on the form.

3) a button which onclick exports a report containing the list of files to PDF. Then attaches a zip of these files and the PDF report to an email in Outlook for revision before sending.

4)In Outlook the subject would be:

"The Directory Name" - "The Category" - "The Email Number"
"101 - Brick House - Working - Email 1"

5)In Outlook the body would simply be the subject of the email followed by the filenames of the 2 attached files, ie the PDF report and the zip.
