I have a database as follows: Date1 Name Issue Action_Item1 Status1 Action_Item2 Status2 .....

with up to 5 max action items/status; where Status is a checkbox.I ONLY want the report to return records where there is text in an action_Item input AND the corresponding status is FALSE. The issue I'm having is that there may be ACtion_Item inputs withOUT text; so I can't simply query the Status checkbox for false.how to get started.

Queries :: Return Records With Partial Match

I understand that a query can accept wildcards in the search criteria but this is different.

I have a form on which a user selects a [product] part number in an unbound combo e.g. "12345-V111".

I then need a subform on the form to list records where the relevant field matches the left most part of this part number but is not necessarily complete. e.g. records with "12345-V1" would be returned, records with "12345-V2" wouldn't. The number of characters recorded in this field will vary, but if the characters that are entered match, then the record should be listed.

In other words, the record entries themselves need to be treated like wildcard entries.

I am trying to search for a partial number in the primary key field. I have based my search off Allen Browne's search form [URL]

I have posted my full code below. I am having trouble with the portion searching the Member_ID field.

My first version:

I would get a Run-time error '3464':

Data type mismatch in criteria expression.

I have a list box which contains different types of log entries. Each different log entry type has a different report that goes with it.What I want to do is select an entry in the list box, and click on print, email, pdf or view report buttons, and the appropriate happens, selecting the associated report for the log type automatically.I have a table with the logtype in it, and against that I have a DefaultReport field, which contains the name of the report that needs to be opened for that logtype.

I am getting the correct name for the report no problem at all, I have made sure that the name is right by going to rename report and copy and pasting it.When it goes to open the report I get an error message - Run-Time error 3071, the expression is typed incorrectly or is to complex to be evaluated.I have a debug line running to make sure I am pulling back the correct report name and I am.I have tried putting the dlookup where the report name would normally go in the docmd.openreport and I have also tried using ReportToView as a String and putting that in the docmd.openreport, but to no joy.

I have tried it with and without " around the report name and still no joy, either in the table or by concatenating the dlookup with Chr(34) at either end of it, then it comes up saying the report cannot be found.

I'm having a little trouble getting this accomplished. I can instruct access to print the report, however I just want to be able to view the report after I select a button. I will attach a picture so you can see what I have thus far. I do have an older version of this and it works flawlessly and as far as I can tell everything is a carbon copy of the working version.

I have a report that is a summary of multiple records in it. What I have next to the record on the report is a button.I have report that are labeled:

rptIncident Summary
rptIncident Report
and a button labeled
"open report"

I would like to click on the button and then it open the rptIncident Report with all the information, not just the summary. I will put a picture so you know what I am trying to accomplish.Is this a simple Onclick event with a where condition or what? Or does this go beyond to having something to do with VBA?

I have prepared a table in a database which includes a yes no box to one of the fields.

The idea of the yes/no field is that this is recording if the record is awarded. What i would like to achieve is that if the yes no box is checked "True" i would like to be able to copy some of the data from this table into a new table and that the form associated with this table opens up to enable the user to populate the remaining fields.

I believe i need to run this as an on click event procedure but cannot identify the code to enable the data to be copied accross to the other table.

I am provided a spreadsheet that contains multiple rows of similar data; each row/record represents a different stage in the process of financial transactions (requisition, purchase order, & voucher payment). Each financial transaction has these three records, with the amounts in one of three columns (pre-encumbrance, encumbrance, and expense), depending on the process.

What I am really after is the fuller, more detailed description that is apparently only available for the two records I don't want to import into the database (which is tracking only expenses and not the other two stages of the process). There is apparently no way to cross-reference these multiple rows due to the way the original database was designed (and we apparently have no control over this).

After importing the spreadsheet into Access, I would like to match the partial text string (truncated description) to the full description in another record, and update the record with the truncated description to the full description. To make mattes more complicated, I will also have to match values in the "pre-enc" or "enc" field with the "exp" field across these three records to make sure the correct descriptions are being matched because the truncated description will match multiple distinct records with the longer description.

I am trying to open a report (rptGMX-IRG) that includes a sub-report (srptRG) based on criteria that is set with two unbound fields on a form (frmGMXbook). This form has two dropdown boxes (cboGMX_No & cboMachSize) and a command button. The first dropdown box includes data located in the main form and the second dropdown includes data that is part of the sub-report.

I can get the report to open properly when I enter data into both fields on frmGMXbook.

However, the problem I am having is the inability to have one or both fields be "Like '*'" and show all associated records.

Here is the code I have on the command button.

I have a report, on a control tab, on a main form.

On the form are two buttons: one to show all items, and one to filter them based on a boolean field called showitem.

The buttons work with the code below.

What I want to do but cannot seem to figure out is to have the report default to no filter.

The bound query has no criteria.

I'm trying to set the filter property via the on open or on load event and even if I isolate the report, cannot seem to reach it.

I have a split db in use by about 20 people. Ocasionally a user opens a record that is already opened by some other user and if changes are made then he gets error 7878; "the data has changed error"

Is it possible to find out which records are actually being used/open/edited in a split db? All tables are related to the main key (CallID on table Contacts).

If it was possible to find out, I could have a label show up in the db record search form telling the user not to open that record.

I have a master table located on the backend of the server with about 3 fields:

Software
Version
Description

I have 4 databases, one for each software on the front end accessing this master table.

So far I have in the master table a dropdown to select 1 of the 4 software's, the version number and a brief description.

One the front end I have a button that when pressed will bring up the report based on the master table.

Can I have the report just select the software that it refers to. For instance if the datebase is Sony when I click on the report it only grabs the records with Sony on it. For my next database when I open up Sharp's database it only makes a report for the Sharp records.

How would I do this? Is this something I have to code or something I can do in criteria or do I create a query?

I have a report based on a query that has data for many dates. At the moment I have put a specific date in the criteria of the query so that I could build the report format. So it now displays all the data for the date i have in the criteria section. I will need to run this report several times per week so the specified date (and corresponding data in the report) will need to be changed to a new date when I open the report i.e. when I open my report I want to show data in the report only for a specified date.

Can I create a date parameter box open up when I open the report? Can I create a form with a button that when I click will open the report displaying data for that date? What would be the best way?I also need to display the specified date on the report.

I wan't access to calculate partial sums based on dates(formatted american style here), in particular, the amount ordered of a certain product until a certain date instead of the amount ordered at a certain date. So:

b 01-03-2005 1

Should become:

I have done it with the following query:

Hi,
I've been reading about this alot today but can't decide for sure if I should replicate my database or not. The users will have a front end installed on their local drive and the back end is on a shared server.

Basically the users will not be able to add or delete records. However, they can update one column- its a checkbox that allows them to select a record or records in a continuous form. I imagine that if 2 users were using it simultanuously and one de-selected all the records, they would be deselected on the other persons form? This is why I think I need a partial replica. That way when the user opens the database they get a fresh copy of the new data and can select and deselect drawings without interfering with others.

All records are automatically selected when the form is opened so updating changes in the master is not an issue.

Please let me know if I'm on the right track here..
